I highly recommend anyone in need of dermatology services to go to this practice. My first appointment was with Dr. Anderson, and since then I have seen Melinda, the nurse-practitioner. Both have excellent poise and bedside manner, a vast knowledge of their practice area and general healthcare, and their approach toward the issue you're facing is specific and prompt. The office is inviting and always extremely tidy and the staff is professional and friendly. My appointment times are always kept and I am never in the exam room long before I'm greeted by Melinda, so they are very efficient but not rushed. Melinda has been a gift in resolving acne that came on in my late 20's. As I've had other unrelated medical items come up, she always discusses the interactions that my medication could have and is very thorough when explaining benefits and risks. I've never sought cosmetic services at this practice, but if I am in search of them, I will definitely come here for it. I have read the other reviews mentioning billing issues, but I've never had a single problem. They verified my insurance before my appointment so there were no "gotchas," and when I needed to update my insurance, they validated the new coverage immediately. I don't think it's unreasonable to sign an acceptance of missed appointments policy, and more or less every medical office requires patience to sign their billing procedures policy. They always submit the claims correctly (a luxury.. I've had other claims be submitted incorrectly and it's a nightmare to resolve.) The check-out desk is extremely kind and welcoming, including collecting any payments due and scheduling next visits. It really doesn't get better than this office.

The office staff is extremely rude! They treat you like a disposable number and not a patient. Simply they don’t care if you are replaced with another. The healthcare providers seem to always medically treat my family and I beyond reason with trumped up in-house charges that health insurance would not even consider reasonable or payable. Go somewhere else; the healthcare will be better, more affordable and most certainly the office staff will treat you fair!

Word to the wise. At the Scarborough Drive location, morning parking is much easier. I advise giving yourself a good 30 min. to look for parking in the afternoon. There are many elderly patients that go to that building, as well as a nearby school and other businesses. There are many reserved spaces that have been at least 80% empty each time I have been to this building, and you cannot park in those spots. It's great if you are early to your appt. but you will only be seen exactly at your appt. time. Do not be late, even if it is only 8 min. and they don't care if you were early every other time. I won't make the excuse that I had trouble finding parking. I was late. So be it. I am merely posting this review so that others are aware that parking is very difficult, so that they are on time.

DO NOT recommend this place at all. This was a complete waste of my time. I called this clinic to see if they accepted my insurance, I was told yes, but I needed to call my insurance to see if a referral is needed. So, I did that, my insurance said that no referral was needed. I called Colorado dermatology institute back and made an appointment where they told me I needed to go online and print out forms to fill out before I even came in. I did that. They couldn’t schedule me at a convenient time because they have absolutely no flexibility for people who work to come before or after business hours. I went ahead and made the appointment anyways, I had to get time approved off from my job and make arrangements for my child to be picked up from daycare. When I finally arrived at Colorado dermatology institute (which I was told to arrive 15 mins early, so I did) I waited at the front for about 10 minutes before anyone even greeted me. Then once someone finally came up to the front desk, I was told they do not accept my insuarance and was turned away. I am no stranger to how medical appointments work, I know to call beforehand to check if a provider accepts my insurance before making an appointment, so this is unacceptable to me. They seemed to show no remorse that they had to turn me away. They made me jump through hoops and then turned me away. Please do not waste your time going to this very unprofessional and unorganized clinic. Absolutely ridiculous.

I DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone! You will feel much better taking yourself, your time, and your money to a different dermatology office. I went in for 3 warts that I had on my feet. When I was seen by the doctor, she didn’t explain what type of warts they were or how best to get rid of them. I had done my own reasearch online to determine they were plantar warts. Instead, she just went straight into telling me we would freeze them off. I said, “great, how much will that cost as I work two jobs and I am a full time student?” She told me she would be happy to check and then never got back to me about it. I have BCBS insurance, by the way. She then froze each wart, and told me to come back every 4 weeks until they were gone. I went for several months, until they denied me an appointment one day because I hadn’t paid enough on my bill. Even though, I had been making payments monthly (as much as I could do being in college with 2 jobs and living on my own) throughout that entire time. I was then extremely upset that the freezing method was not working, yet I had owed quite a bit of money, and told the doctor I needed some type of topical solution that I could put on the warts. She got me a prescription that I went and filled at the college pharmacy. I tried that solution as well, nothing seemed to get rid of the warts that they had done or recommended. By the end of it all, I had owed over $1300 dollars just to try to get rid of warts that I still have to this day!! Not once, did the doctor or nurses ever call to check up on me and see how my warts were doing but I got plenty of calls in regards to the money that I still owed to their office. This establishment does not care about their patients, all they care about is money. I will Never recommend this place to friends, family, or anyone I cross paths with (which is quite a few people considering my career path with school and my 2 current jobs.) Please don’t make the same mistake I did, find somewhere else to go that actually cares about their patients and can properly treat you!

We took our daughter to Colorado Dermatology to get a cyst on her face removed. As cash patients they were able to give us a cost range and the final bill was within that range; great to see as that seems to be an industry challenge these days with the complications in medical billing and insurance. Dr Anderson did an incredible job removing the cyst and now only a couple months later she is 100% healed and the scare is almost invisible already!

Even though we were really early, we were taken to a room and didn't wait any longer than five or six minutes before PA Lea came in. Lea does a thorough full body exam, takes her time double checking any possible issues and always makes time to answer your questions. The best.

Beware of this place they do not disclosure costs and charge an excessive amount of money for unnecessary lab work. I went to have a couple moles removed. I was told that the two moles that I was having removed were not a problem they would just freeze them off for a cost of $30 each. Then I was told that I had a concerning bump on my face that needed to have biopsied (it was basically a skin tag). I was told there would be a small cost for the lab work. Small cost was $580 dollars because they ran a whole bunch of tests on my skin tag. I then received another bill for their services 450 and my portion of uncovered costs was 278. They charged for an office visit which I expected, but they also charged for removal of skin tag and reading the biopsy. Not to mention she left a huge scar on my face. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. On top of all of this they were rude. $1000 dollars is NOT a small cost. I would give them a zero if possible. Also when I called for an explanation of the bill no one was able to explain the costs.

As a new resident of Colorado Springs, I contacted Colorado Dermatology Institute several weeks ago for a new patient appointment. I was thankful I was able to get in to see Dr. Anderson within the week and was extremely pleased from the moment I walked through the door. Their customer service is what I strive to achieve in my business and it continued when I met Dr. Anderson. After talking with me and recommending a treatment plan, he gave me his cell phone number and asked if I would text him with any concerns or with good news. I have never had a doctor offer me a personal cell phone number so I was admittedly a little skeptical. In my mind I concluded it would be an answering service or an assistant would send a reply. One week after my appointment, I sent a text to Dr. Anderson one evening with an update on my progress and within 3 minutes my phone rang and to my surprise, he was on the other end of the call. We chatted for several minutes, my wife now in disbelief and soon to schedule an appointment of her own. Now if I can just find an Internist with the same philosophy of treating patients with the utmost care and concern, my mission will be complete. Thanks to everyone at Colorado Dermatology Institute. I've been researching the best clinic for a cosmetic procedure and out of all the places I've called, I was the least impressed with Colorado Dermatology Institute's customer service. I left a detailed message on what I was interested in and my questions, and instead I received a generic voicemail in return saying if you still need assistance to call this number. It makes you feel like they don't care about your business. With its wide competition in Colorado Springs, this institute should be more personable. Other clinics I called put in effort to answer my basic questions and one call I received was from a plastic surgeon himself!

This whole office is a sham! I literally had to take my daughter home in tears because they refused to see her due to her having no state ID!! Who does this?? IF you are an insurance company, or IRS, or even the VA, I could completely understand the reasoning... Of course, staff apologized, including Dr. Christine who made us wait in back room, just so she could tell us we wouldn't be seen due to an ID issue! I offered to email a copy of VA benefits, SS card, and even a copy of her birth certificate, but nope, this place acted like ICE and decided that my daughter ( who waited more than a month to be seen) wasn't who she said she was!!! Doctor said it to our faces right after shaking our hands!!!! "We don't know who you are without a state ID!" I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure vital records are WAY more important, you know, because you need vital records to even GET a state ID!!!! I even went above and beyond and walked across to adjacent building to get our doctors referral info, and her staff was nice enough to walk over and speak directly to Dermatology, but to no avail, my daughter was refused treatment!!! Am contacting our insurance to file a complaint, and to find out why they took of picture of her, an then refused treatment!!! BEWARE, these guys are in it for money only!!!!

I love the Doctors and Physician assistants – great care! I hate their new billing system and customer service with this department is awful! They require prepayment now, even for repeat customers with great payment history. This is OK with me as I use my health savings card anyway, but if they charge you too much don’t expect immediate correction. If you over charged and over pay with the prepayment, they say it will take 1 ½ months for a refund. I was told to sign a $30 liability paper for a cosmetic procedure while in the Doctor’s room. Was this really necessary? They obviously have had issues with collections, but they shouldn’t punish their customers with a good paying history. I was so offended that I cancelled my follow-up appointment. I will go somewhere else and start new.

The doctors I saw were very good, but their billing is a mess, and I refuse to go back. For MONTHS they kept sending me statements with a $60 credit and a $60 debit. My co-pay is $60 and there was a payment that wasn't applied to a visit. The office kept calling me and my husband asking for $60. We would point out that there was a payment on the account that they haven't applied. They would then tell us they would take care of it, and we would get a call about it in a few week asking for $60. I cannot continue to do business with a group that unprofessional.

This practice and their staff are wonderful. The paperwork is made available online prior to your visit which is much nicer than fumbling with a clipboard while sitting in an office chair. The staff is friendly, and I was taken back to the exam room before my appointment time. The medical assistant, Trina, was fast and friendly. The physicians assistant, Kristin, was extremely knowledgeable and checked on my pain level throughout the procedure. I wish that CDI had been my first stop when my issue arose, and will not be looking any further for any dermatology related needs.

Upscale reception area, greeted by professionals who were enthusiastic about my visit and what they would do for me, guided to the procedures room by a most cordial lady where another vivacious pro told me of what was going to be done , all addressed me by name and introduced themselves by name. Very classy throughout. Confidence-inspiring Dr came in, told me what he was going to do, did it, and left with a smile. Nurse reviewed wound care details and escorted us out most cheerfully . Made me feel like I was the most important person in their world. Left feeling elevated.

Dr. Anderson is very easy to talk to and he has taken plenty of time to explain everything to me each visit. He listened to me about a spot on my arm another dermatologist had told me not to worry about it. He biopsied it and found it to be the in the final stage before melanoma. He removed it and did the best stitching job I have ever seen. I see a negative review on here that is frankly impossible for me to believe at all. My experience has been completely different. Each visit with Dr. Anderson for over a year has been better than any other visits with different dermatologists in multiple states over the past 20 years.

If you get "diagnosed" by someone in Dr. Anderson's office, you might want to get a second opinion. They do a lot of biopsies, and they test them in-house. How does the patient know if the biopsy really has cancer cells? Are we supposed to just believe them? Where is the proof? One things for sure; go there expecting to get cut on. Whether you need it or not. Dr. Anderson won't give you anything for pain either. He doesn't believe in it. Several of the nurses are rough when removing sutures too. I have not met anyone there who had a good bedside manner. I had cancer on my ear. Dr. Anderson removed it, and put a skin graft on it. The skin graft has been infected for almost 2 years now. I finally went to the ER, and the doctor lanced the infected area. Why didn't Dr. Anderson prevent the infection and massive pain that followed? Think twice before going to this clinic. His nickname is Dr. Cut-Happy. You'll never forget the pain. Dr. Anderson told me it would take 2 years for the surgery to heal. Wow, 2 years?? Why can't my wife be in the room during surgery? It's just skin cancer.

Everything was great! The MAs were very nice, kind & knowledgeable. I was quite please with the PA, Haley. She took a look at a small growth in the crevasse on my nose where the nostril meets the upper lip and she decided to biopsy it. I appreciate her initiative and not making me wait for another appointment. The only I wasn’t happy about was waiting approximately 20 minutes past my appointment time of 2:30. The week prior to this appointment I was turned away & had to reschedule because I was late. I was 15 minutes late from my appointed time last week & was sent from 1 office to next office after waiting for a receptionist at the 1st office. That made me another 5 minutes late! Then the receptionist at the 2nd office had to confer with 2 or 3 people before they decided they would not see me. I live in Woodland Park & I was not aware of all of the road construction coming down Hwy 24 and on the west side, and, again, on I-25. I rarely come to Colorado Springs that is why I didn’t know about some of the road construction. Realizing I was going to be late I tried to call, while driving, 5 times to see if I could still be seen & repeatedly got a recording to leave a message for a return call as all receptionists were busy. By the time I got the return call from a male receptionist I was turning onto Research Pkwy so I told him that and told me to come for the appointment still. When I arrived at correct checkin desk I was asked who I had spoken to. I didn’t know his name because I was driving & things were hectic! Long story short, I was turned away due to my tardiness. Isn’t my time as valuable? I had to wait longer than expected & hit rush hour traffic going home. Other than that I was overall very pleased.
