You removed gender from the wristbands? Gender can be determined at 9 weeks into a pregnancy. (which is funny because some people will say that a fetus at 9 weeks isn’t a human being and therefore can be aborted, yet here we are able to test for gender...ANYWAY) Fact is you can test for intersex conditions and some chromosomal anomalies, but NOT for trans. The ONLY way to tell if someone is trans is for them to say that they are. Let’s stop catering to people’s feelings and get back to actual medicine and healing. A children’s hospital is no place for social experimentation or social engineering. It’s also offensive to those who are proud of their gender.

I've always been so impressed by the entire Children's Hospital network but I recently had an extremely disappointing experience. The lack of care and lack of leadership is definitely causing problems for patients.

Daughter was sent here for dental surgery. Everything went fine until we started receiving our bill. Long story short they only billed our medical insurance not dental. After Several phone calls (months apart and still receiving bills) I am told they will not bill my dental insurance because they don't see themselves as a dental office. I ask to get a statement of service so that I can submit it to our dental insurance myself. Months pass (never receiving the requested statement) and I receive another bill this time saying that I will be sent to collections on X date. When I call this time they say they will resend the statement but I will still be sent to collections unless I set up a payment plan. DO NOT GO HERE FOR DENTAL RELATED ISSUES!

This Children’s Hospital is by far the worst hospital!! I went to go visit my little nephew who was on the 6th floor. I was very confused on what was going on with him, I asked the nutritionist a few questions which I have the right too & the nutritionist was very rude she rolled her eyes at me & did not answer any of my questions!!! They took the questions as a threat making it seem as if I was stepping on their toes when clearly was not the case & they kicked me out for a very dumb reason!!! So I will never go back to that hospital very very unprofessional

Scheduling for the Children's hospital is horrible. Two separate appointments were all screwed up. The first one in Broomfield was scheduled and the Dr was never scheduled in, then in Aurora our appointment was canceled with out notice. We drive out of town to these facilities and get screwed. The day of the Aurora appointment was at 2pm and the director squeezed us in til a 345pm after I was making complaints and told them I wasn' leaving til we were seen for the test that was originally scheduled. This is the far worse scheduling issue this Children's Hospital has. If there was a different Children's Hospital I would switch in a heartbeat, but unfortunately we are stuck with Phucktards.

Perfect place to go if you want to be treated like a child abuser daily, and threatened to have CPS called on you because your child is sick.... will NEVER EVER return.

The first bad experience I had with several years ago when my son was transferred to the emergency room from Urology and completely forgotten about for over an hour. Has care after surgery is not improving my opinion of Children's Hospital at all

I have seen a lot of Doctors at Children's for Various Medical Issues. My biggest one started when I was in Third Grade and just ended in 2017. Without getting too detailed, I had a Disease Related Injury to my Hip Bone and the Damage was extensive. They did 4 Initial Surgical Repairs (Two at the Franklin Street Downtown Denver Campus). Then last year after my 20th Birthday I started having pain in my hip. Dr. Nathan Donaldson in the Pediatric Orthopedic Cancer Center took my case. On June, 14th, 2017 I had a Total Hip Replacement. The staff was very Considerate and willing to listen to my Concerns. The Slogan, "Here It's Different" really is true in my case. Love Love Love Children's Hospital.

I have never had a kid here but the people on the phone are kinda rude.

**UPDATE** The Hospital's customer and billing lead reached out to me directly after this review. This issue was resolved in a matter of days after a year of dealing with their billing and collections agents. While I am satisfied with the response I sincerely hope this is a "lesson learned" and they have invested some time in uptraining and coaching their individuals who reach out to customers who have billing issues and concerns. Additionally I hope they terminate the agent "Don" in their collections who told me there was nothing they would do for me unless I was willing to gather the information AGAIN for proof of billing and talked to me as though I was beneath him, even after I quoted the statute to him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While the doctors were amazing their billing staff is terrible. Took my son in for an accident that caused a fractured spine while his Medicaid was being transitioned. I was assured they would accept his out of state Medicaid and that someone would be following up with me. The person in billing that contacted me told me it was MY responsibility to file the claim with my state. When I contacted the state they said the hospital had to file the claim because they have to include an itemized bill. I contacted Colorado children’s billing and explained that to them. I didn’t hear anything else and assumed it was resolved until the collections agency the sold the account to hit my credit report. This is federally illegal and has really made me question using them for any of my children’s needs in the future.

We Love the Childrens Hospital. We haven taking our daughter for the last 20 years to the special care clinic. Our current doctor Courtni Santucci is amazing. She is the real deal doctor. She cares about her patients and it shows every visit. We may not always agree but we listen to one another to come to an agreement that is in the estate interest of our Child. She has helped us come a long way. We couldn't be more pleased and blessed with her as our doctor. Many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and assistants at the special care office. We are truly grateful!

Stress inducing total lack of communication between staff. My nephew is currently there for his second stay and both times the communication skills between the nurses have been severely lacking to the point that it is ridiculous. My sister is beyond frustrated because one time they will be told that some specific thing is being or has been done yet when a different nurse comes in they tell something completely different. It’s like a messed up game of “telephone”. Night nurses started treatments that have not been done in 2 days because the doctor never added it to the chart. When you ask for something you either don’t get it when they say you will, or they take so long that you have to figure something else out and by the time they come back with it it’s too late. They were told they would be given a cot since two of them are there, after waiting several hours and asking about it again, the nurses then changed their minds claiming it would be a “fire hazard” and instead my sister slept on the floor. These are some of the minor communication issues. The nurses just don’t care about their patients or the family. When your child is sick or injured the last thing you want to be dealing with is more stress and nurses who have no clue what they are doing. So much for being the “best” children’s care place in Colorado.

In September 2017 My daughter was transferred to this hospital from Lutheran's due to her running a fever. They diagnosed her with adenovirus, put her on a feeding tube and ran a bunch of tests. Half way through our stay they called cps and said I malnourished my baby and they're was bonding issues. They're evidence was I missed 2 feedings because my alarm didn't go off and my daughter didnt wake me up. Also because she cried every so often, she hated me. Nobody took count I was a first time mom, doing it by myself and healing from a c-section. No parent is perfect we learn everyday. I never neglected my baby, she was sick and I'm getting punished everyday because a medical team told them I did. I highly don't reccomend this hospital whatsoever, take your precious babies somewhere else.

TRYING to get employed here is difficult due to H.R. and lack of them contacting you back.

Saundra B

Used this place for my kid a long time ago, worst experience of my life. Avoided returning but highlands ranch is way too far. The doctors keep leaving so we have to start over explaining his issues. Came in on monday to visit family who's baby is admitted there. The thing by the atrium elevators is disgustingly filthy. The tables in the cafeteria are sticky. My 8 month old and 2 year old are sick, it started Tuesday. AND the restrooms I used did not have a changing table....a CHILDREN'S hospital...with no changing table?

Heather Fritsche

The worst hospital and staff we have ever witnessed. Michelle alletg is the rudest doctor. She is condescending and made smirky remarks toward us. They did lab work without our consent. Stay far far away from this hospital!!!!! They didn't communicate with us at all....even though, they are committed to communicating all options apparently. We had no idea when they took my sons blood that they didn't get enough and then they didn't even tell us that we weren't being discharged and were going to have to do it again....Just sent a nurse in with more needles(when it wasn't even necessary to draw his blood in the first place)

This is not even worth 1 start but ok. We scheduled an appointment for a 2 year old to get his age required vaccines. The appointment was made two weeks ago but they still managed to mess up. We were informed that the appointment time was changed and we agreed to it. However when we called right before we went to the hospital they told us that it was canceled on Saturday. God knows how its possible because none of the parents attempted such a thing. It wont be this big of a deal if it was a regular check up, but its a known fact that vaccines are pretty important especially at a age like this.

My Son was in the PICU for a couple of weeks for severe RSV the team took REALLY good care of him!! Thanks to everyone who helps us get through that virus!!

Christine W

If you have to got to this hospital for an appointment you better get there 30 minutes early. They have incompetent admins that will delay you and you possibly will lose your appointment because they don't process you quick enough. We have to wait extra 40 minutes because this gal in admin couldn't scan an ID and insurance card.

My son had to be airlifted here from Sheridan, WY in (what we now know) to be adrenal crisis, caused by undiagnosed Addison’s Disease. Since the moment we arrived, I couldn’t imagine a better place given the situation. It was a very scary time, but all the staff was incredible. From the Dr.’s and nurses, to the cleaning & kitchen staff! Everything was as good as it could be. There is so much going on every day for the kids! My son did as much as his energy would allow. This place is magic in a sea of terrible circumstances. I can’t imagine anybody having a bad experience here; but I would imagine what they put out has a lot to do with it. We were so grateful to everybody. Even had a wonderful woman come educate us on how to give my son his emergency injections etc. I know we will unfortunately be back here due to complications with my sons evolving disease. But I’m happy to know he will be taken care of!! Just 10 out of 10!!! Side note; food here is unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Daesy Ceja

Brought in my son to er and I came in at 10pm it’s 1:18am and still in the waiting room they should of warned me ahead of time I was gonna wait this much I would of left to another hospital.

Clara Anderson

This is a really great place to go if you have to! I went last night for breathing problems and all the staff were very kind and caring. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. :)

Thankful for the amazing oncology department. Amazing Dr’s and nurses. I am so thankful for the care that my daughter received.

We were very disappointed by our experience at Children's Hospital. We were originally referred to Children's Hospital by our pediatrician for a hernia on our one month old son. Due to my son's age, Children's Hospital wanted to wait on the repair surgery. Children's did not want to repair the hernia until my son was six months old. At the time of the original appointment, the hernia did not seem to be bothering my son too much. However, over the course of the next two months, my son's hernia kept getting bigger and started to cause him a lot of pain. It had gotten to the point that my son was no longer able to sleep or lie down without screaming. I repeated called Children's Hospital explaining the situation. However, they still refused to do anything until my son was older. Due to the poor condition of our son, we were then referred by our pediatrician to another urologist for a second opinion. After seeing our son, the other urologist discovered that the hernia was becoming incarcerated and recommended a repair as soon as possible. We were able to get the hernia repaired within two days after getting our second opinion. Had we not gotten a second opinion, we most likely would have ended up having emergency surgery on our three month old which would have been a much more high risk procedure. We were very disappointed by how we were treated by Children’s Hospital. We wish that they would be willing to treat patients on a case by case basis rather than issue blanket diagnosis and wish that they had taken the time to actually listen to us regarding what was going on. Had they done that, they would have realized that my son’s condition was more serious and would not have made my son suffer in pain for two months.

You know it's sad that I took my daughter in and explained I can not afford the vist they said that they had programs to help me and not to worry about it now they are putting me in for collection I explained again I cant afford it they want the whole amount or a payment plan I can't pay i am a single parent and on very limited finance i work hard but barely make ends meat I know they do amazing work for our children but cant they help like they said they could

I’d like to start by saying the hospital is trying to improve, however they have a long way to go. I’ve been working with this hospital for many years for my son who has autism. One doctor was amazing and he left. One psychiatrist we worked with was helpful as well. Everyone else I have worked with has so much to learn. Their answers are always the same, “take him to the ER, or call 911”. He has autism people, there’s nothing the ER can do and calling 911 will not help either, I did try both. The inpatient autism ward does the same routine with all the kids and they broke my sons finger, slamming it in the door trying to force him in the “safe room”. In my experience they DO NOT understand autism, do not trust them with your child. Like I said they are trying to improve. Hope they figure it out.

Zero Stars We recently were at the Children’s Hospital Colorado and needed to have Lab work done. Where we encountered two individuals who did not know how to truly deal with an autistic child who goes into flight mode the moment he knows he is getting blood work done. When the Lab tech Zac took us back to the room for the lab work. I tried to explain to him that my child is Autistic and has a very difficult time with blood draws where I may have to hold him in order for him to get the blood or we may need another person to help. Right away he told the other lab tech to get behind my autistic child and hold and restrain him which already made the situation worse and as the parent I was trying to calm my child get him to let us see his arm and Zac the lab tech wanted to lower the table down lower on to my autistic child who was in his adaptive stroller which would trap and lock my child in place. At the sound of this my child started to become freaked out and the Lab tech Zac got irritated. As the parent I attempted to hold my child on the table where my child was wrapped in my arms in away he would feel safer and then Zac the Lab tech said in a raised yelling voice we can’t get his blood this way it’s not safe. When it is obvious that as the parent of the autistic child I would know best how to help get this blood work done. Zac the Lab tech went on to say after I attempted again to help him understand how this would help him get the lab work that he has felt with Autistic children before and continued to yell at both my self and my child in front of another lab tech who just stood there and another lab tech by the name of kate. When I tried to take a picture of his name on his name badge Zac the Lab tech turned it over and yelled some more and threatened both my autistic child who is a patient with Children’s Hospital Colorado and my self to be kicked out by security. And when I said in a upset voice for him to leave the room and that we did not want to hear him or see him he kept verbally yelling at my autistic child and my self even after the other lab tech Kate told him to walk away. When I asked for their names they refused to provide them by writing it down and said they have no pens or paper and handed a card for the lab. When in fact there are pens that they should have provided the information. With all of this said I would never Recommend Children’s Hospital Colorado to anyone. For anything and if you do go there for treatment I would suggest making sure you get complete medical records for your child including all notes for anyone who has accessed your child’s chart.

We’ve had a mix of good and bad experiences with Children’s hospital. The biggest issue is that when there is a problem, and a complaint is filed- nothing is actually done. They say they investigate and communicate with the various departments involved, but there’s never been an actual apology or anyone admitting they messed up. I don’t believe that they take complaints seriously, even when they are valid, and as such we have lost trust in their system. Their concern seems to be their own liability and avoiding any ownership for errors verses actually protecting patients and making changes to protect future patients. The advocates aren’t there for the patients, they are there for the hospital.

Recently delivered my son here. The staff, atmosphere, and care was amazing. I actually got to keep son in room with me with his own NICU nurse. Now that he is in the actual NICU the staff have been phenomenal. The children's hospital does their best to help the family as well. Some of the NICU rooms have attached rooms with queen sized beds. I am so ready to have my son home but I know he is receiving the best care possible.

I should of took my daughter to Buckley Air Force Base to be treated. They pretty much kid napped my daughter and took her to Jefferson Hill Clinic at Lakewood without our consent. Even they're own staff said this isn't the first time ,this has happened and this is not the first complaint they received when I called the Childrens Hospital. Thank you to that one staff member. At least someone in that facility has integrity.

Jill Holly

They handled our emergency excellently, saved my daughter's life. We were well cared for and I highly recommend them!

Kofi and Deb Saeed

The nurses are so nice and helpful and so are the doctors. My 4 year old was scared to come to one of the outpatient clinics. We saw a wagon on the way in and it helped her to go in without crying. The staff was really nice and helped keep her calm. Thank you to all the staff, nurses and doctors who made her visit a good one.

3rd time at this ER....this time we waited 8 hours so far and my child has neither been neither admitted nor discharged. Too may people use the ER like a primary care physician's office. The surrounding community is in dire need of education, this facility is being used incorrectly which seems to result in longer wait times. Psychiatric Emergency services are abhorrent, after 8 hours we still haven't seen a physician, and there is no update to my child's treatment plan. So far we've experienced sub-par treatment, this is unacceptable. If this situation wasn't truly an emergency, I would have waited through traffic to be seen at a different branch of the children's hospital. Words cannot capture my feelings of desperation as I await adequate medical and psychiatric care for my child. I implore all potential patients to objectively evaluate your needs and make a different choice in hospitals if at all possible.

After posting my initial review below and receiving a response, I contacted their finance department only to know that it is a general review response and nothing could be done. Please stop giving this impression that you really take these reviews seriously and want to do something to make it better. My initial review: The service they provide is absolutely wonderful and so impressed I setup a monthly donation for 5 years now. This was the first time we went in without insurance. A simple visit to cardiology department where a regular ECG was performed. We ended up paying $438.00 for that 15 minute visit after discounts. A complete rip off. President Trump or some federal/state department should look into this to make it affordable for lower middle class. Looking at their fee structure my donations are going somewhere else.

One of the best hospital experience I have had. My 6-yr old son with a ruptured appendix came in from a 5-hr ambulance ride in blizzard conditions at 5 in the morning on Feb 22, 2017 and we were made welcome by our nurse Amy of 6W. She had the bed ready for my son, even had the guest bed in the room set up. Made my son comfortable, very attentive and efficient. Dr. Bealer, our Pediatric Surgeon was very informative and explained everything to us. Very important to parents of a tiny 6-yr old and who hadn't have any history of hospitalization nor surgery. The quality of care of the nurses that we came in contact with from my son's room to recovery was the best. The staff nurses namely - Amy, Jessica, Heather, Liz and Lindsey and para-nursing in 6W were courteous, efficient, very helpful and mindful of my son and our feelings. We had been so lucky that we encountered such wonderful and caring individuals during our stay. With regards to the facility, they have almost everything imaginable to help make your stay a little easier. There were a lot of gracious volunteers to help you from babysitting your other kids, providing cheer and encouragement to your hospitalized child. Their cafeteria isn't bad either.

Valerie Hall

My daughter was admitted into the PICU for two weeks followed by another two weeks in a regular room. I can’t say how thankful I am for the care she received during the most difficult time of our lives. I truly feel like she received the best care available. When it comes to life or death situations, this is a place I would want my child to be. We loved most of our doctors, nurses and other staff we had contact with.

Ron Rust

My son had many GI problems and in out opinion was never treated well or helped. Hearing it has gotten better I was optimistic and called the nurse advise line. Explained my son's GI history and his current status. Was not told it was over an hour wait for a call back, he had a serious medical condition as explained when I called! Nothing has changed, so totally disappointed in this hospital

Lisa

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The staff in the E.R. we're rude and incompetent. I will be taking my autistic son elsewhere for mental health help next time.

Momma Matz720

The staff and facilities do an amazing job here! They truly care for children's health and well being! The nurses are awesome!! Dr's are superheroes!

Karina Venegas

I had the best experience when I was here a few years ago as a 14 year old! This place inspired me to pursue a career in nursing! I will forever be grateful to had been taken care of here!

Evan Coleman

If you end up having to stay in-patient it is very family friendly. 24/7 cafeteria and snack kiosk with lots of food and drink options though if you want soda that is not diet or sugar free prepare to bring that with you. There is a well stocked gift shop that also has toiletries should you need them. The playrooms on each floor are fantastic and open 3 times a day during the week. They are open on Saturday and Sunday when there is a volunteer that comes in. You just have to check with the volunteer department to see when its open. A family library where you can search the internet, use a printer and check out a variety of health books and chapter books as well as childrens books. If you are just visiting for imagining or a specialist appointment check in is easy and clinics are pretty good at keeping as on time as possible. The grounds are well maintained and a joy to walk around.

Only thing good about the giant hospital is the children's side of things. Otherwise, hate it...

My wife booked a routine allergy test for our son. The staff was great. The skin allergy test was completed quickly, and competently. Our allergy suspicions were confirmed by the end of the appointment. Prior to the exam, I did a quick Google search for the cost of skin-allergy testing. It showed a range of $60-$300. Since we have Cigna PPO, I assumed our bill would be a portion of that price range. That is what I budgeted for. I was shocked, to get a the bill of $1800! For a scheduled allergy appointment? This was not a surgery, or emergent procedure! After insurance processing, my portion of the bill was $1000. For a test that should cost a maximum of $300, I was financially unprepared for the amount charged, and my portion of that charge. Lesson learned: Do not use Children's Hospital for routine exams/testing.

Erin Smarr

Our son and family had a wonderful experience at this hospital! The doctors, nurses and all of the medical personnel were brilliant! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the billing department cannot get their act together. We have been trying to set up a payment schedule for months and it never works. Then they could not find our bill and now we have to pay a larger monthly sum because they could never figure it out! We do not have a lot of money so this is a big financial strain!

After 3 visits for kids surgeries, I'm always impressed with the care and professionalism provided to the patients.

This hospital LITERALLY saved my son’s life and ensured he reached a full recovery! They were there for him every step of the way and conducted more than adequate follow up. I can’t find the words to express my gratitude because they don’t exist! All I can say is that I hope to work here one day, in order to contribute their MAGIC!

My teenage son went to Children’s Hospital Colorado for an inpatient surgery that turned out to be an outpatient surgery. We had an excellent experience. Everyone was extremely nice and perfectly suited to work with children. Everyone from nurses to doctors to the anesthesiologist communicated with both my child and us as parents in a way we could both understand. The food we purchased in the cafeteria was really good and the entire facility was clean and beautiful. They had many activities for children going on like crafts and a recording studio. I couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Daniel Stubbs

I am very disappointed in the care I have received here. My daughter has been admitted for 36 hours and has only been visited by one doctor. She has a persistent cough and their treatment is to have us put her in a bed and then hope she will get better through ignorance. We have brought the issue up to three nurses, 1 charge nurse and 1 resident. Each time they tell us they are sorry and the team will be in soon. For some reason the team never comes in. I couldn’t be more disappointed, I am paying an extremely amount to come to the “best” and all we are getting is ignored. It’s too bad.

Heather akerley

The staff is very knowledgeable and nice. One of the staff even brought me to the grocery store so I can get groceries when she found out I didnt have a vehicle here. They take time out to really listen to your concerns and needs . Your kids are in good hands when they come here.

Kasandra Lopez

This hospital I dont know why they act like they even care there the worst honestly you go in and your child is very sick all they say is give them tylenol and motrin that's it and it doesnt work I went in and they took me in and they told me to give them that medicine my son had a really bad infection in his throat that I had to take care of my self because the stupid hospital wouldn't all my son was doing for the past 2 days was cry all day and if I take him to the hospital they will say " is normal" just give them tylenol and motrin worst and I try my best not to go to the ER

Erika correa

I'm thankful for all the wonderful staff

We drove 7 hours to this hospital from another state hoping to find the care we needed. Unfortunately their charge nurse can’t do a simple blood draw without spilling half of my child’s blood on my wife’s leg and claim to say it was our fault she dropped it. Doctors are very knowledgeable but nurses don’t have a clue in what they are doing. After this stay we will never return.

Melissa Birk

World class medical care in a clean and friendly environment that puts the patients first.

I'm so very thankful to Dr. Brukner and her staff for CLEARING my baby's severe eczema. He has been dealing with this for months and it has be very hard on our family. The recommendations by his doctor worked overnight and he's an entirely different baby. I am so so happy and grateful!

Ben Archer

Without speaking on specifics to our stay (multiple days in-patient + several doctors appointments) this Children’s Hospital is amazing! The services are great but what really makes this place the best are the people. Highly recommend for the genuine care they provide to their patients across all teams including radiology, specialists, nurses, and support staff. Thank you to the teams that make this place special for our loved ones that are here regardless of what brought them here.

Yanet Chavez

Our experience was above great here. My son was diagnosed with RSV bronchiolitis. We were at a local hospital here in Pueblo amd then tramsferred via ambulatory to Childrens Hospital on Aurora. From the start we were welcomed with great attitude, they were ready for us and started caring for my son ASAP. When we were transferred to our room and my son was admitted the nurses went above and beyond their duties for him! I can not thank Kathy, Kelly, Claudia, and the other nurses who made me feel that my son was just not another patient, but someone they really cared for. I am grateful for the medical care my son received and I am so blessed for the amazing staff we had!

Paulina Cat

Very disappointed. It took 2 hours for the appointment, several times we had to look for the doctor to remind her that we are still waiting and have a next appointment to go to. while the clinic was completely empty and we were the only patients there. The doctor had to write the prescription for 40 min, which made our child feel worse. No value! The bill was for $606. The explanation of the huge bill was, that they had cancel other appointments in order to see our child on the emergency basis. Our appointment was scheduled in advance, there was no emergency. And the clinic was completely empty - no other patients were there at the time.

Holly Sterquell

I can’t say enough about this place. The facility is beautiful, everyone is amazing and it is top notch. The cafeteria is open 24/7, which is truly rare. There is a Dazbog coffee shop in the main lobby that is a life saver. The free valet service rocks and is open until 6 pm, which I highly recommend using, especially when visiting a patient or if you’re there for an appointment with a provider. They always have something for the kids to do, whether they are there for admission, an appointment or visiting a sibling. I also recommend walking around and checking out the art if you have time. There’s even a pharmacy on site if you need to fill a prescription, which is nice. Does anyone want to go to a hospital? No. But if you’ve gotta go, this one is excellent.

My daughter had to have surgery because dislocated her clavicle and it was pushed against a vessel after 4 wheeler wreck. For the most part everything was great. Except a couple of things one being they did not making sure her ice bags were staying filled and ready for her since she had several injuries that required ice. Also one of the nurses when my daughter received an antibiotic made it seem like she was over reacting cause she said it was burning her hand going in and instead of trying to listen to her she told her everything was fine but everything was not fine. She hardly cried and but this burning pain was hurting her. Also we don’t know what therapist or doctor does things we have questions like lots I mean our daughter had surgery and we needed to know everything we can getting responses like “well that’s not my department so I can’t help you” was crappy. I get it’s not your area but maybe a better response would be “I am not to sure about those things but let me direct you to the right person.” She is our Kid so of course we want to make sure she has everything she needs to make the best recovery possible. Sometimes it just felt like we were the problem. I will give a shout to an RN names Christie she made my daughter feel more comfortable and like she was cared for. She even assisted me with getting her gown so she could have a sponge bath. Even encouraged it. While others told us it isn’t a worry... she crashed lake water she was itchy and uncomfortable especially after 3 days of not bathing her hair was matted. I appreciate Christie not discouraging us on the sponge bath. She even helped to make sure my daughter had what she need med wise for our drive home. That made us feel like someone. Genuinely cared for. We do appreciate the doctors who completed her surgery. This was a very scary things for us cause she is visiting her grandparents while we live in Arizona and wrecking in a different state was hard for us. We are happy that everyone was on top of it and got her the best treatment she could get. The food though they hardly got the order correct and instead of asking us if we were going to pay for the extra meals because we had our other kids with us they decided just to not bring it. We were willing to pay extra but they just didn’t even bother to ask they made the decision for us and getting several of our orders incorrect sucked. Hopefully they find a better system. And learn to verify everything with the families.

I have gone here for a few doctor’s appointments. In my opinion, it is a friendly environment for children. The main level includes an entertaining ball structure. A play area for ages eight and under welcomes younger children to play during a sibling’s doctor’s appointment. A great place for your child(ren)’s doctor’s appointments.

Is the best hospitals in colorado and I can say in America I like HD live this hospiatal and I have a lot respect to all people who work in building

This place is one of the worst hospitals that I have been to. Our local doctor directed us here when our 1 year old had serious hives from an unknown source all over her body and a high fever. We notified the hospital at 4pm, arrived at 6:30pm, and did not see the doctor or nurse until 8pm. We spent 5 hours in our hospital room after that waiting for sporadic 5 minute visits every hour or so for treatment or to discuss the problem. We didn't leave until 1am. Our doctor and nurse were excellent, "when they were there," and correctly diagnosed the problem, yet they seemed incredibly overworked. The waiting room was the worst part and operates like the DMV except it was less clean. I would avoid this place unless you need a specialist.

I went to Children's to accompany a non-English speaking friend who is a new mother. She had to have her baby checked out at the Heart Center. The staff at the Heart Center, from the front desk person to the nurse to the doctors, were all so caring and kind. I was incredibly impressed by how many of them spoke Spanish fluently too! My only complaint was the parking. There simply was not enough patient/visitor parking. Praise the Lord for the valet parking folks! It was free and easy, and they kept us from missing the appointment.

Premier children's medical-care in Denver area, offering compassionate, professional services in multiple in- & out-patient clinics.

Beware this hospital has zero issue in violating your childs and your constitutional and civil rights. They have zero respect for the rule of law, equal protection under the law, and due process... they think they can act on made up verbal court orders. (That were never put into writing) google sale scheidt story for rest of info

My 12 year old son needed a somewhat simple procedure to be done. It required an IV. He had a bit of anxiety about this. A virtual reality headset was given to him prior to inserting the IV. He didn’t even know when the IV was inserted and had zero problems. It was such a wonderful distraction and the staff at this hospital were so kind and accommodating. They made him so relaxed and comfortable. We had a great experience.

I'm a student at AMC and I really love coming here to eat lunch! The food is affordable, relatively healthy (depending on what you pick), and it tastes pretty good! Highly recommend dining at their cafeteria if you can. I'm sorry I cannot speak about the care or service of this place as a hospital.

Stephanie's Classes

I find it ironic that patient relations makes time to read and respond to all the reviews on here, but they won't actually do anything or respond to real complaints that people submit through the proper channels. The head of patient relations is incompetent and kind of a malevolent human being. Hope everything goes well for you if you go here because if it doesn't, you've got no recourse.

Lizzie R

The wait for the room and some of the staff was a little long but overall well worth the wait. The staff was so friendly and so kind and so comforting to both me and my child. The doctor's were knowledgeable and understanding and didn't mind explaining things to me if I needed a little extra. They took excellent care of my kiddo and the staff was so unbelievably sweet. I'll drive the extra 40 minutes to go to this campus due to the care provided and the kindness shown. I appreciated everything you guys did for us!

Indira Lozada

Horrible experience and poor customer service, no respect for the patients waiting over five hours; is like “you wanna be seen? Well wait!”; they don’t even try to hurry the process, for us we got there at 10:40pm on a Saturday and didn’t get to be call til 2:34am, Doc show up, it last about 15-20 min got medicine, thank God didn’t have to get admitted, and just for the paperwork to get ready so we can leave we waited again til 4:00am, that was a joke!

Georgia Torres

Had to wait over two hours to be seen by a Dr. Incredible dirty in waiting area. Don't think anyone picks up at all this was between 830pm-12 am and it was dirty when we arrived. Yes we didn't leave till after midnight. Don't go here unless you want to wait and possible get sick from God knows what else because they can't pick up. No one came to inform us how long it would be. Worst experience ever.

S L-R

My experience here is mixed. I have been to the pediatric ER at 12 am and we had no wait. But we were there 6 hours for just a fever. I was concerned so I didn't ask to leave. Our final bill was reasonable. We were in from out of town and had no other care options. My second time was in the outpatient blood draw. No one was at the desk. Seems like the people drawing the blood are also running the desk (with gloves on, not sure if new gloves or old ones). We waited 30 minutes before anyone even came to the desk and the woman just held her head in her hands several times. Everyone is obviously extremely stressed. They said that the computers were frozen. Just seems... Less streamlined for the expectation. The hospital itself is gorgeous and beautiful. I always marvel at how kid friend it is. Also, the volunteers at the info desk are angels. Glad they are the first we meet.

Edit I wrote an earlier review on how long we have been waiting it has now been 11 and a half hours waiting for my son to be taken to his facility we got here at 1030 am and it is now 945 pm! My son was brave enough to tell us he needed help so we brought him in the emergency department for mental health he was happy to be getting some treatment now that we are nearly 12 hours in to just sitting and sitting he is discouraged he said he thought it would be different he thought he would get help not just be left to sit in a room for 12 hours! I feel like going forward if my son ever feels like he needs help again he wont tell us because of the horrible experience he has had today! Something needs to be done about this process children who are feeling suicidal deserve more then being left to sit in a tiny room for 12 hours before they get help!!! Ive been sitting in the psychiatry unit for 8 hours waiting for them to transfer my son to a in patient facility and they still cant tell me how much longer it will be! This is a horrible experience to be sitting in a small windowless room for hours and hours and my son is going crazy he would just like to get to were hes going to be so he can sleep!

gurunath choukekar

They kept me on pjone for one hr to get hold of burn clinic help

Amanda Reindel

My newborn was diagnosed with lung cancer right after I delivered her. She is our first baby and my husband and I were devastated and speechless at first. The staff took not only amazing care of my little Eleanor, but great care of us young parents as well. With the help of the amazing staff and outstanding surgeon (Stig Somme) my daughter is now cancer free and is living a normal life. I couldnt be more grateful for Stig and the staff at Childrens for helping my daughter conquer cancer and for taking the ultimate care of her. My heart is full because of them ❤

Allan Roman

Highly recommend!

These guys didnt even notify of a bill, sent my file to a known criminal collection agency and has ruined my family, we are almost homeless because of them but HEY they got there money right. There only concern is not the children but the money they can make off your love for them. I will NEVER EVER take my kids here again.

Crazylegs Craz

This hospital is essentially a second home to me. Due to my medical issues I tend to come here frequently. The staff here is amazing, helpful, and very friendly. When in a serious situation the staff respect the parents and patients decision. Sometimes even in life or death. When the patient turns 18, they try to inform the child/patient of his/her responsibilities and rights. The location is amazing next to a very busy area. The hospital is also very modern. One thing to note though is that in emergency room if the patient isn't in a extreme situation you'll be forced to wait. Granted an emergency for one might not be one for the physicians. But overall however it is the best of the best. Definitely recommend bringing your child here.

Christina Collins

Where do I start.... If you have ample time on your hands, by all means, go to this ED. If it's a REAL emergency, like say, the middle of the night and your 3yo can't breath, go anywhere else! Never venturing thru the ED doors again unless we have no choice. This isn't even our first horrendously long experience there. Please, get your timing, priorities & staffing in order!

Danielle Moore-Weitzel

Drove 4 hours for the skeletal dysplasia clinic and only 2/5 providers showed up. Huge inconvenience, disrespectful and unprofessional.

Jesse Walker

They closed down urgent care in Colorado Springs and only offer emergency care at the new hospital now. That is a major blow to children’s health care here in Colorado Springs. The price points between urgent and emergency with insurance is astronomical. Because of this our son will not be seen tonight because of his fever but 6 months ago he would have. We had nothing but great experiences at the old location and now the big hospital opens they close the urgent care and don’t give us another option for urgent care.... wonderful. I guess we won’t be coming back anytime soon; a real shame the old location was a real gem and the staff was amazing.

Alyssa Deppen

The level of care, compassion, and professionalism we experienced here was above and beyond what we expected out of a hospital. They truly cared about us and our daughter as if we were family. I'm so glad we were able to experience such a trying time for our family at such a comforting place.

We LOVE Children's Hospital!!! My son looks forward to his visits in the Developmental Pediatrics clinic with his favorite doctor Dr. Goldson!!! He is ABSOLUTELY the BEST!!! We have seen a COMPLETE 180° turnaround in my son's autistic/ADHD since first coming in and I can't thank you enough for your expertise!!! My son also love the full scale Lego display, fish tanks, pinball game, arts & crafts and special groups you bring in such as the police! Thank you!!! ❤

Shanta Adkins

It just seems to me that a place with all this vast knowledge and medical advancement would know the dangers of Splenda and Equal. So if you want a soft drink there, just pick your poison, LITERALLY!

J L

Both of my kiddos just finished having surgery (5 night stay). The doctors and staff were amazing - shoutout to Dr. Partrick and his team as well as the south wing 6th floor!!! Everyone treated our kids and us very well. The facilities are clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the people working in the cafeteria - they were not friendly; parents going through a stressful time could use a nice welcoming smile :)

Ava Beadnell

they are good sometimes sometimes you have to wait hours to be seated and the doctors said i didn't need any blood draws cause i hate blood draws and i got my blood drawn so they lied .

Jamie Garcia

My daughter had surgery Sunday night and from the emergency room to discharge 3 days later, everyone and everything was great! We had awesome nurses!

Daniel Chavez

First of all this is a hospital where a lot people come in sick and others dont! So that means the place needs to be cleaned and disinfected every hour or more often! Very dirty place! Good place to GET SICK FROM germs left behind from patients! Also very slow service at the EMERGENCY departement...

Benjamin Farley

Run away from Children's Hospital. The nurses had a new machine that they did not know how to work. They overheated my new baby and they were not smart enough to critical think about the issues. They were not monitoring as they promised for having a baby under heat. I ended up ending the services early because I was more worried about what they would hurt over help. Fast Forward 1 year, they sent a bill late. They cannot figure out how to bill my insurance and only sending me letter saying it is my responsibility (put it on the consumer for their business).

Jennifer Matteson

I have loved Children's Hospital for many years. They have always been wonderful to my children. They have had 2 emergency surgeries there and one scheduled surgery among many other things. I have paid them thousands of dollars over the past 10 years and have never had trouble of any kind, until now. My daughter broke her wrist skiing last December and we went to Children's Ortho for her follow up. The PA determined she didn't need a cast, removed her cast and gave us the option to choose one of two splints. I asked about the cost and pros and cons of each. I was told one (the one they sell at Walgreen's for $16) would cost about $50 and the other which she could use and play sports with would cost about $100 so we chose the one that she could play volleyball with. When I received the bill it was much higher than I anticipated. It also was not itemized. When I called they told me her splint cost over $400! Obviously, if I would have been told the correct price I would not have bought that for her to where for just three weeks. I have been trying to reconcile this for over 6 months with Children's and NO ONE will work with me. I have offered to return the splint and offered to pay the $100 I was quoted. I get the constant run-around and have been told that the doctors don't know the prices or that it has already been processed through insurance. It is unacceptable to quote one price to a customer and then charge them 4x that amount. This is what the politicians are talking about when they are asking for "transparency." Today - I give up...I paid the bill in full (before it goes to collections which is the last notification I received) and am going to try to put this behind me. But, I wanted to let others know.

Stefanie Schy

The best place to go when you need a pediatric hospital.

Krista Miller

Great with kids and patents. They listen and they care. They take such wonderful care for my children!

Robert Hodgkinson

World class doctors, nurses, staff. Everyone who works here has a clear passion to help the kids in any and every way possible. I am so thankful that this is our home hospital.

baquegood1ify

The staff is always amazing from caring to treatment. No matter who is on call or who we come into contact with. My grandson has Sickle Cell disease so we've become acquainted with the ER, Hematology Clinic, & Special Care Clinic. I find peace in knowing that he's being taken care of to the best of the staffs ability. God bless you all!

Cheryl Welda-Saunders

Be wary of using the valet service at Children's Aurora. Since they are working on their parking garage, it was recommended that I use the free valet service, which I did. Upon retrieval of my vehicle, I noticed that my driver's side seat had a cut in it. After filling out the incident report with the valet company (which was never forwarded to the appropriate person) and eventually contacting Patient Relations, I received a call three weeks later from their claims manager to be told that "there's no evidence to suggest valet was negligent" and that the company will only pay out claims that are "catastrophic."

Jenny Salzman

The main hospital is great, I've been bringing my daughter here for years. However, the ER is horrible!!! Kids running wild, coughing all over everyone, very very long wait time!!!! Prepare yourself for a long wait!!!!!!!!!

Ahmed Mohammed

I remember was made surgery and come back 2 days after feel a very painful at the emergency door, they treated me unfairly and got back without nothing

Allen Meadors

I dont think I could use words to describe this hospital. If it wasnt for the doctors and nursing staff at this hospital I wouldn't be able to call myself a father today. I will be forever grateful to this establishment and hope that one day I can contribute to its greatness. Thank you.

Exodus Pardon

I recently had surgery here and as a teenager I was a quite nervous but after having several doctors and nurses come in and tell me what their role was and how they were going to help me. I had 2 nurses 2 doctors and my surgeon come in and help me out. I also had a very nice women come in who was a part of Child’s Life and she talked me through it and showed me everything and even gave me a stress ball for free. Yes it is expensive I’d believe but so is anywhere else and I’d highly recommend no matter the prices or the reviews this place was fantastic and very helpful and I’m without words to describe their kindness

TRIPLE AUGHT CONSTRUCTION

I’m still in awe reading some of these negative reviews. But my guess is a lot of those people leave lots of negative reviews, nasty comments & are generally complainers... we all know “those people”.... unfortunately everybody thinks they’re a Kardashian & can’t contemplate real world anymore. With that said.... this is an ***update review*** from my original. My son came to this hospital by air ambulance from Wyoming, in what we now know as adrenal crisis. My son and our whole blended family was treated so well! We were there for a week & the only complaint I could find if I was an absolute claude is that housekeeping wasn’t always on top of garbage etc.... but our room was always full of people etc which made it difficult for them. The more I hear in support groups, other parents experiences at other hospitals; I am reminded of how WONDERFUL this hospital was!!! They even had a specialist come teach us how to properly administer my sons life saving shot. This will always be my hospital of choice when my son ends up in crisis or needs to be hospitalized for anything! Most of the complaints are from people who’s children had minor issues that could have/should have been taken care of by your pediatrician in an office setting; so don’t get upset because people didn’t jump for a cold or a broken wrist when there are children trying not to die, right upstairs.

We live in Montrose, Colorado and our 9 year old son was diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor in 2015 at Children's Hospital. From the moment we checked-in, after driving through the night, we really felt like the staff cared and understood the scary position we were in because they were so kind. A few days later our son had surgery to remove the tumor and thanks to the amazing skills of Dr. Handler, his neurosurgeon, it was completely removed. Not only was Dr. Handler a great surgeon, but he was very personable and made a very scary experience for our son and family less so. The nurses and therapists that treated our son in the ICU and elsewhere during his recovery were awesome and made the experience as positive as it could be. He has returned many times for MRI's and checkups and our experience with his Neuro-Oncologist, Dr. Green, and the Radiology Department have been great every time. They have been responsive when setting up appointments or calling with questions about symptoms. We feel blessed to have this incredible regional facility in Colorado!

jacob williams

Nursing staff and docs have been very cordial. Security and front desk staff are racially motivated.

John Harris

Great place. Our experience was above great here. They always make sure the kids have something to do. Excellent doctors converse to make sure the best possible care is given to the patients.

Kelly Hendrickson

Much more worried about payment methods than child. A mix up with insurance that was in the process of being solved prevented me from scheduling an appointment for my son's broken hand. His primary had referred us here upon seeing the the x ray. Their concern was he may cause more damage if not seen immediately. I conveyed this to the hospital and even offered an credit card for self pay. I could not even schedule an appointment. I will so everything in my power to tell people about their policies. What wheels are getting greased to have such a high rating nationally but terrible local reviews. I would rather apply snake oil than use this hospital. DO NOT bring a loved one here. This hasn't been the only issue for my family.

Traci Batchelder

Wonderful medical center! Kind and caring doctors and nurses and support staff

Eric Harja

Brought my teen child to the Children's south campus urgent care clinic to treat a skin rash. The intake nurse decided to check him in as an ER visit rather than urgent care without full disclosure to us. After a simple assessment, which required no specialized ER equipment, a recommendation was made to take an over the counter antihistamine. We soon received a $1500 ER bill from Children's and $125 physicians bill from UC. Contacted Children's to get the ER visit reduced to the appropriate level of service since this was NOT a life threatening scenario. Children's administration team reviewed and denied our request. So disappointed........we will go elsewhere next time.

Powitsme The Designer

Got here at 11:45pm Been waiting for 2 hours and still have not even been seen for our emergency. My daughter is having hard time breathing and face swollen. It is now 3:11am we are still in the waiting room

Simeon H

Awesome salad bar ! Oh and hero stuff happens daily.

Jessica Kincaid

I love that they are children oriented.

Matt Franken

was ok for a place to get heart surgey but my room was dirty but the doctors and the nurses are so nice to me

Rachel Pedersen

I've been going here for almost 2 years now, the staff is very rude and inconsiderate of your child's well being. What should have been a simple procedure has turned into more pain and surgeries to come for my 2 year old. Very displeased with this hospital that's supposed to care for my baby.

Valerie Matheson

On April 1, 2019 my 11-year-old son had a pulmonary evaluation at Children’s Hospital in Aurora. Dr. Stillwell was the pulmonologist that saw my son and diagnosed him with asthma. I have no reason to believe the diagnosis is not accurate. The hospital support staff and nurses at Children’s were wonderful. I have been around long enough to have had multiple experiences with professionals who feel at liberty to dismiss my concerns and belittle my inquiries. That was my experience on April 1 with Dr. Stillwell. When I told Dr. Stillwell I did not understand a word he used he repeated it three times as if I were not paying attention or hard of hearing. When I asked about negative side effects of a steroid, he was prescribing he said growth could be affected but only to a minor degree and unless my son wanted to be in the NBA it wouldn’t matter. My son, who dreams about being a professional baseball player looked startled and asked, “what about NBL?” Dr. Stillwell replied that he could be short and play baseball. My son was startled. I think Dr Stillwell and I have both learned that our culture allows him to systematically interact with me in a way that is condescending (whether it is breezing through acronyms on my son’s report that can’t make any sense to me, or providing glib responses to my questions) and he will be treated with respect, which he was. I believe Dr. Stillwell treated me like an idiot and belittled my questions so I would stop asking questions. It worked… but it was wrong. I don’t recommend this doctor- particularly not around kids.

Jessica Martinez

Thank you to all the staff who made our visit to your hospital easy. You all took care of my daughter like she was one of your own and put my anxiety at ease. I will forever be grateful to each and everyone of you.

Happy Ash

Children's may provide great care, but their billing practices are predatory, unethical, and probably borderline illegal. I am being charged almost $400 for a single x-ray at their urgent care center across town. The head of the billing office literally told me she didn't know how insurance worked and then after I explained it to her, she said, "You should be paying more [than someone with insurance] because you aren't paying the insurance company. I filed a complaint with Patient Relations, but the patient relations office run by Kristin is a joke. Their solution was to "ask my pediatrician to pay the bill for me." What!? Seriously!? Ironically, most places want everything in writing, but Childrens actually refuses to put complaints or their resolution in writing. They send out form letters that say essentially, "we reviewed your complaint and called you with the resolution." But Kristin's story changed at least three time in one conversation so who knows what the "official" resolution was or if there even was one. I asked that the complaint be escalated and that Kristin's incompetence be reviewed. I was never contacted and eventually received an email that basically said, we talked to Kristin and she thinks she's doing a great job. There were no details of the complaint and therefore no real resolution. Nearly everyone who has actually had to pay Children's hospital for services has similar stories of their wildly inflated prices and complete unwillingness to work with anyone or even act like decent human beings. Update: I saw the response below and wanted to follow up. Patient relations repeatedly told me on the phone that this was my pediatrician's fault and she needed to fix it. They gave a variety of non-sensical explanations of why and what she was supposed to do about it. She has no affiliation with Childrens at all. The letter they sent said their prices were justified because they are based on ER pricing even though this is an urgent care center. Not sure how I was supposed to get one from the other, but that's Childrens I guess.

Eric Patchem

The Doctor visit for my son was fine, but the after visit customer service has been abysmal. I have received three bills from them, all different and no one seems to do anything about it. They say they don’t have insurance information, yet I checked in and payed my copay. Clowns could run the billing department better. If you like your hard earned money, take your children elsewhere. I will not be returning here and will drive out of state if I have to, to avoid coming here again.

Cheyanne Gurule

I have heard of nothing other than great service here by the Dr.s and Nurses, however trying to check in is chaotic and some of the desk ladies are rude ( the woman named Barbara on the 2nd floor is a sweetheart). I spent 30 minutes bouncing between the floors because we were being directed by the desk ladies who clearly did not know where to send us. First the main check in who told us to go to the 2nd floor, checked in at 2nd floor which told us to go to the 4th floor. That lady told us that was incorrect and to go back to the 2nd floor. That's when Barbara helped us out and told us we needed to go back to the main check in and ask for radiology. Went back to the 1st floor lady who was very rude and unclear as to where we should wait.(I couldn't get her name, I tried.) Loved the actual medical staff and Barbara but it was a frustrating and stressful process to check in. Especially when you are told your appointment will be cancelled if you're 15 minutes late.

P Galloway

I used to think so highly of this hospital. Until they billed be over $15,000 for a surgery that didn’t happen. I’ve never heard of such ridiculousness. So not only was the condition which spurred the idea of surgery not corrected, I’m $2000 poorer (after insurance). I’ll be taking our services elsewhere in the future. I called in several times to discuss how the charges had to be inflated somehow. I was told that if I didn’t start paying, it would go into collections. I asked if I could find a way to pay it in full that day, if they could reduce the charge. They said no. I’ve never heard of a place that would rather get a monthly payment for FIFTEEN months at the lowest possible amount than a payment in full minus a few hundred dollars, but go figure. A 15 month payment is what you’ll get!

Dembow X

Quick service, clean and modern

Michelle Flores

It was 95% awesome service. You have a very select few staff that think they have to be respectful to patients. But the majority wins on their services provided!!

Melissa Fisher Faler

Children's is great since all they do is working with kids, they really cater to any fears they may have vs. a traditional hospital. The complex is big so allow extra time if it's a scheduled visit for parking and finding your way. There is valet but in my experience, the wait was too long. I prefer to self park in general.

Janel Breitenstein

We felt like such a priority in the midst of a frightening time for our family. The doctors, techs, and schedulers were incredibly personal, and didn't rush us with all of our questions. We were scheduled quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend.

Colorado Guide

This university hospital is super amazing! Their faculty/staff, facility and location are the best in the state of Colorado. They have free valet parking. Thanks for the love, compassion and services provided to my son. You team is top-notch!!!

Avinash Joshi

Too costly, their accounting staff can do wonders with your bills. I received two different bills with two different account numbers (though the patient was same). One bill had a date of service, I never visited them.

Katie Cuellar

My baby had outpt surgery and for any parent going thru something with their child it can be stressful of the unknown. Working in the medical field I know what to look for and expect but it's still different being on the other end. Children's definitely exceeded my expectations. From start to finish everything was clock work and done accordingly to keep my mind at ease. My baby was loved on and cared for just like I would expect. I loved the atmosphere and all the staff we interacted with.

Rhianna Colvin

Our son was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia on Sept. 18, 2018 at 20 weeks gestation. It was a terrifying diagnosis with several possible outcomes, which is not at all reassuring. From the moment we were referred to CHC, we knew our son would be getting the best possible care. Our very first meeting with his care team was a relief. We received pertinent information and they created the best plan for our son. They explained everything concisely and never made us feel as if any question were unwelcome. Every time we had an appointment predelivery, our fears were put at ease. Not entirely gone because this is a devastating disease and not every baby survives it. But we were confident that they would do no less than their absolute best to make sure our baby survived and thrived. Our confidence in Dr. Marwen and the rest of our son’s care team was not mislaid. From our very first appointment we knew they cared about our son. The labor and delivery team were amazing too. I feel it went much better than it would have anywhere else. And our son was taken care of from the moment he was born. Immediately after birth the plan from his care team started to unfold exactly the way they said. Our son spent 71 days in the NICU. At one week old, Dr. Marwen performed the surgery to repair our son’s herniated diaphragm. The surgery went very well, mainly because of the expertise of our son’s surgical team. Every time our son achieved a victory, his care team couldn’t have been more excited for him. Our son had very few setbacks. I feel that he had so few because of how wonderful his care team was. They took such amazing care of him from day one. Every doctor and nurse and clinical assistant and respiratory therapist had fantastic bedside manner. I imagine that his follow up appointments will be comprised of the same care as he and our whole family have already received. Thank you all for what you have done for our baby. And thank you, Children’s, for having such an excellent CDH program. -Rhianna and Ken Colvin

They always make sure the kids have something to do. Excellent doctors converse to make sure the best possible care is given to the patients. A lot if thought went into the design with aesthetics that are eye pleasing and interesting.

One of the WORST BILLING DEPARTMENTS I’ve seen in 25 YEARS. Horrible hold lines, don’t get bills, bills are incorrect, send you to collections without ever sending you a bill. Multiple bills under different account numbers with the same doctor. I refuse to go to this hospital again because you will have a year plus of billing saga to deal with.

Jacob Gonza

We are from the San Luis Valley. My daughter was born here, we have the worst hospital around. they had to fly here to Denver flight for life when she got there they were like why does she have all them pokes from the nurse trying to get the needle in her arm. When she got to children's hospital they were hands down the best ever.

Rich Ommert

Very caring facility and great resource in the Rocky Mountain region.

Came in on 7/09 (1430) for my sons elbow dislocation and fracture. Were there for 7.5 hours. I am sure this hospital as experience at this type of injury. It should not take 7.5 hours. Wife requested several times to get info about patient portal "My Chart". No information was given. We live out of town and this now makes followup difficult as your medical records department takes 7-10 to fill records requests. Also no sling was offered and when my wife mentioned it the staff was surprised she requested it. The staff was professional and polite. Your processes are slow. Patients from out of town should be prioritized for receiving patient portal information upon discharge to ensure their followup is easier in their own city.

We are always well taken care of. My son loves his Dr. We've never had to wait long, but it is worth it to have amazing staff taking care of our child. Definitely choose this facility over the Colorado Springs location.

didn't have to wait very long to be seen

My daughter had her tonsils out here. The anesthesiologist lied to me about his experience level. When I accompanied my daughter into the OR it was easy to tell that he had very little experience. He didn't even know how to place a mask on my daughter's face without help. I placed a complaint and all that happened was the doctors involved lied to cover their ass. The hospital told me there was nothing else they could do. If I can't trust a doctor to be honest with me, how can I expect them to take proper care of my daughter when I'm not in the room. Also, if they can't take responsibility for their mistakes and they choose to lie to cover them, I don't want them near my daughter. I will never be going to Childrens again.

My 16 yr. old daughter has mulitple disabilities and disorders. I had to take her for a blood draw today. She does not handle needles well, and by that I mean lots of crying, yelling, flailing, kicking. 180lbs of out of control. The team that worked with me and her were phenomenal. The two main people who persisted through her protests and accomplished the task were Mitchell and Melissa. They were on point! There were two other females that helped. I'm so sorry, but I didn't get their names. They were on the ER/Trauma side of things, since the main lab was closed today. I am super grateful for everyone's patience and skills.

The hospital itself is great, very easy to get around and the staff is super friendly. but wow is the cafeteria a disappointment! food was mediocre at best and they dont sell anything but diet drinks. nobody wants your aspartame

Do Not bring your child here! One star is too many! Terrible administrative and insurance verification department which made us lose our 6 month awaited appointment. They forgot to check our insurance and that it is out of network with them demanding 200$ cash deposit before seeing my daughter telling me it will be another 1000$ or more out of our own pocket. I could have looked for another doctor instead of wasting our time and getting her the medical attention my daughter needs. More concerned about getting their payment convered than the health of the patient herself. So much for medical care. The money thirsty institute does not give a dime about your health and well-being. Such shame they are put in charge of 'care' to people. They should be in hotel business. Will never bring my children here.

I can’t even get connected to a doctor to ask some simple questions before making a good drive to the hospital to make sure if we need to see a specialist there or a possibility of one closer to home. I don’t believe this hospital cares about children just about making money! Total disappointment

Ben Christensen

Amazing doctors and nurses! So thankful for all of them.

John Coffey

I love the nurses who take care of my baby. Thank you all!

Lack of communication, no concern for my child, and the food is overpriced and pretty awful. Would give negative stars if possible! They state that they are top 10 in the nation but this has now been the second time I have brought my children here with a bad experience. The first time my son had nursemaid elbow and it was very obvious his arm was in pain. We were almost sent home by the nurse saying he was just throwing a tantrum before insisting we get the doctor to look. When the doctor came in she was pretty nice and fixed it in a matter of minutes making her assistant/nurse looking very rude and unprofessional. Now my new born daughter is in the NICU and there has been lack of communication on all spectrums. First we got here the nurse got her hooked up to everything. 20 minutes later the alarm on the monitor that reads the pulse and heart beat was going off and continued going off for a good 10 minutes witch to me is disrespectful especialy since she told us she was watching the monitor. I could definintly name off about 5 more things from start to finish that have been unacceptable. On other notes the parker adventist hospital has made our standards high and have treated us extremely well i will definintly not be returning to this hosptial i dont understand how they claim to be top 10 in the nation when i can even get an explanation on whats wrong with my 9 day old baby!!!

Dr. Taylor Triolo is the best! My daughter and I enjoy seeing her! Best personality and professional I have ever meet in a doctor!!!!

Brook cunningham

The wait times are horrible. They called us to come to the appointment early and a hour later still sitting here while they see everyone else. Also now are being told instead of a dr apptmnt he has several.

Amazing place. The entire network is unbelievable. We’ve through surgeries, therapies and emergencies with them, and everything worked out just fine

Christen Garcia

I was hesitant to go at first because I had heard some not so great things from a friend but I was so surprised by the great care we got. The facility is very well ran from beginning to end things went smoothly and the staff was great. They took such great care of my son and took things very seriously and investigated thoroughly. I hope we never have to but I would definitely go back if necessary.

Children's hospital was a wonderful place and the staff could not have been more helpful. My daughter had heart surgery with Dr. Jaggers and has recovered very well. I would recommend this hospital to anyone!

Concussion Clinic and Complex Concussion Clinic delivered substandard care. Beyond physical and vestibular therapy offered no suggestions to alleviate my son's symptoms. And if their argument is these therapies are the standards of care and best practices, that isn't good enough. This is Children's. You have a lot of resources to help families and I would challenge you to do better and think bigger. All I kept hearing is "the good news is that kids heal fast." Not always. He literally suffered for months and months with no relief. Pressure on his brain, ringing in his ears, nausea, dizziness....months. Not once did I see an MD in the complex concussion clinic. You would think that may be suggested if there is no relief of symptoms? Seems logical to me....Not once did anyone suggest alternative therapies, not once did they offer any resources and not once did I hear the words post concussion syndrome. They made me feel like he should have been healing, it wasn't normal that he was not making progress and then did absolutely nothing when symptoms persisted, which made me worry more. There are some serious gaps in care. If you think this is the best program in Colorado, think again.

my Daughter has gone hear for 11 years they are sweet

Childrens Hospital failed our family. We came in with a 2 year old with a high fever. Childrens Hospital had us sit in an ER Room for hours waiting...In 19 hours, we had 2 blood tests one blood culture to find out that our son just had a Virus a "cold"...Childrens Hospital then took advantage of the fact that we had health insurance and charged nearly $15,000!!!!!! That's nearly $1000/hour for a common cold. We will never go to this hospital again. We are asking for an explanation for which we have not received a response because this hospital cares more about "surprise billing" and making money than true patient care.

I brought my boys for a endocrinologist doctors visit. The doctor did not listen to our concerns or take into consideration that we have already been through this with our older boy and knew what worked for him. Instead she insisted my youngest see a nutritionist (of which I let them know he had seen one on several occassions in the past), they both had a simple hand xray that was read by the doctor not a radiologist and seen the doctor. No further treatment was offered other than to come back in 6 months. After I had paid the co-pay insurance was billed and our bill was still almost $800 and the billing for the doctor will come separately. No my deductible was not met BUT this was a regular doctor visit that typically would have cost us ONLY our $40 co-pay even without the deductible being met. Hell, we have had urgent care visits with xrays and casts and only had a $120 bill. The nutritionist alone was $265 for not even 30 minutes AND I had told them we didn't think it was necessary but it was insisted upon. I contacted the billing office and was given a 15% discount. Also spoke with patient relations rep. She "researched" the visit and we were pretty much told the 15% off was good enough to take care of our concerns. I further voiced concerns that were answered with "uh huh" and "I understand" again did not feel as if I was being listened to. We won't be back! The outpatient billing procedures that are taking place for a Dr. Appointment is asinine! Especially when the office is part of a hospital that is NON-PROFIT! Someone is getting a huge bonus at the end of the year!!

Bonnie at the gift shop was so helpful over the phone when ordering a gift for a patient. I really appreciated her help & kindness!

The nurses and doctors and professional medical staff at Children’s hospital were excellent, and sympathetic to our needs. They are very well trained, know what they are doing and made us feel confident about our child’s care. The rest of the staff like the secretaries, receptionists, financial, billing, and insurance department staff are horrible and don’t have a clue to what they are doing. I have been hung up on 4 times while trying to reach certain departments and they could not answer my simple questions. They also directed us to the wrong department while my child was there for brain surgery. We called and e-mailed them several times asking about our insurance and wanted to make sure it was in network. They said yes they are in network on 3 different occasions and they also had blue cross blue shield on their website. The surgeon was also on our blue cross blue shield website as being "in network". After my Child's major brain surgery I get a letter stating that they are not in our network of providers. The staff needs a lot more training! This is very upsetting and not something we want to deal with at this time, or ever.

3 of my five grandchildren were born here. It's an amazing, child caring hospital. Great doctors. Very comfortable.

Sofs hen

Great place my nephew had to have surgery on his knee and every Dr and nurse that was helping him was so nice and so caring made sure he was comfortable at all times love this place

Jesus Meza

My daughter has had 3 eye surgeries at this hospital and the waiting time it’s ridiculous. She’s only 1 year old and cannot eat or drink 5 hours before the surgery starts which I agree, but every single time we have been here they’re running 3-4 hours behind; therefore, that adds up to 8-9 hours without any food!!!! This is unacceptable and disrespectful to the families.

Robert Davis

They have such a great staff. They really take great care of the kids.

jsnkapfer .

Charged $4000 for a pregnancy test and nausea medication. Then can’t even find their own records for internal review. Shadiest institution that I’ve ever had to deal with. Nothing wrong with the patient except food poisoning
