I have made several visits to Dermatology of Northern Colorado and have yet to see an actual doctor. The PA prescribes medications that are very expensive and then acts very surprised when I state that I do not want to pay $400+ to fill a monthly prescription. My pharmacist informed me that in a slightly higher MG dosage the prescription would be a fraction of the cost. Once you get it figured out how to fill the prescription at a reasonable price and then it does not work the PA gets upset when you ask for something different. If would give 0 stars if it was an option.
Great service, wonderful and friendly staff
I would highly recommend Traci Wilke - truly the best!!!! I have been to Dermatology of Northern Colorado several times and each time she has provided exceptional service. With one of the visits for my son, she was so kind and made him so comfortable as he had a procedure. With another visit for one of my kids - she was so thorough to find out exactly what would help the skin condition and he was feeling better in no time. I've moved to serveral states in the last 10 years and I know how valuable a good recommendation is as you set down roots. Whether you have lived here awhile or are just coming into Fort Collins - I highly recommend Dermatology of Northern Colorado.
The entire appointment was great. Friendly greeting, rapid access to Dr. West, thorough exam and treatment plan, and easy check out. Can't ask for more!
The negative comments seem really weird. I've been a patient of Dr. West for many, many years and have ALWAYS received thorough, excellent care.
Outstanding service and staff. I was able to get an appointment quickly and my treatment was very professional. My condition improved immediately after seeing Dr.Hultsch. Great front desk staff!
Needed to have a small lesion (3mm) removal and biopsy at my primary care physician’s request. First appointment took around 7 minutes and nothing was explained to me, just numbed my arm and cut off the top of the lesion. At the front desk I was told I owed them over $450 and that they’d call me when results came back. I nearly passed out while also being furious. Later I called the office and they filed with my insurance, so the bill dropped by $100. The office manager was kind enough to let me exchange my check for a lesser one, so thank goodness for her. A few days later I was contacted and told the lesion was a carcinoma and it needed to be fully removed. Funny thing is that I already thought this, but they wouldn’t just remove the whole thing at the first appointment. Thankfully, I got a quick appointment and had the second “surgery” and it only cost an additional $420+. I thought the bills were paid until last week, when I received another bill for $95. Unless you want to be raked over the coals, avoid this place. It’s a total rip off and I will NEVER go here again. (Too bad I’m so angry because my internal stitches are still poking out of my arm, five weeks later, but I’d rather have that than go have them charge me to look at them or remove them again.) The Good news: my crummy insurance saved me about half of what was billed (over $1600). If you’re self pay, you’d be screwed. Avoid this place. Go anywhere else and ask for pricing before they cut into you.
The doctors are very informative and prompt. We did not have to wait past our appointment time.
I learned that if a dermatologist is 50 minutes late don't even go in, the doctor needs to make up time and it will probably be with you. I think the doctor spent 3-4 minutes with me at the most. She fixed one of the 5 areas of concern. Didn't check out my body or scalp for anything else, just my arms. No apology from the nurse or the doctor for being 50 minutes late. Had trouble getting her freezing thing to work. She couldn't even get rid of a 1/8 mm wart. Wouldn't do anything for a small sebaceous cyst on my face, recommended going to a plastic surgeon. She took a biopsy of a sebaceous cyst on my arm and the nurse said she would call me in a couple of days. Week and a half later calls back and tells me it was negative. I didn't want it burned anyway. I just wanted it cut out. Just another way to bill extra. Cost was about double what I spent at other dermatologists visits with more time spent and more work. Would never go back there.
Dr West is my favorite doctor. She treated me in my early 20's. I needed to visit a dermatologist again a few years ago but she was full. I found other doctors for a while but did not like them. Finally she had an opening and I was thrilled. 25 years later I reconnected. Dr West was still so pleasant gracious and kind. I hope she never retires.
I have a growing/changing mole on my shoulders, and I was raised on the gulf coast. Skin cancer is almost like the common cold down there.. I spent more time changing than the dr did examining my shoulders. It was literally less time than it took you to read the first sentence of this review. They failed to file with my insurance, claiming they needed the original card, and I was out of state for several weeks. Ended up paying $80 for somebody to glance at me almost long enough to tell my skin color. They were recently acquired, so perhaps they just dont care. I know I'm never going back to these people.
I have Rosacea, and Dermatology of Northern Colorado really helps keep my skin clear and my Rosacea under control. I appreciate how professional and caring both staff and doctors are when treating their patients.
We have been coming to this practice for our dermatology needs for well over a decade. They are consistently helpful and very thorough. They are very proactive when it comes to investigating suspicious skin lesions, and very prompt with reporting the results of any biopsy. The new check-in process utilizing a tablet is easy and positively painless. No more trying to write in your lap!
Doctor is good but the staff and the clinic all together is terribly horrible!! They bill you for things you don't even know where they came from. Their communication for billing you is terrible... You get a warning for payment 6 months after you have visited with them and you go and ask to discuss it because they told you that your insurance covers it all before you see the doctor,,, and they ignore you and tell you that the billing person is not available in the building.... There is much better dermatology clinics in town.. I would never go there again!
I have always had a great experience when visiting this office. They have consistently been on time and help resolve my issue. I highly recommend them for dermatology needs.
Very friendly staff and Dr. Hultsch is very professional.
I would save your time and deductible pay for another dermatology clinic in town. I had multiple visits with this clinic and each visit left me frustrated and amazed at the rudeness of the health providers. Traci Wilke, PA-C, began my appointment without introduction. She thought I was there for injections while I was there something completely different. It wasn't until I could get a word in to let her know that she was mistaken that she realized she was in the wrong room. I have a strong family history of skin cancer, but she ignored this and barely looked at my skin saying "looks fine to me". When I went to a different office 6 months later, they opted to remove a spot and have it tested. When I asked for another provider, the front staff continued to schedule me with Traci. When I finally saw Dr. Hultsch, she made me feel guilty for changing providers. The staff then scheduled my next appointment with Traci when I specifically asked for Dr. Hultsch. Traci was so rude to me that I left in tears. This office clearly is not focused on patient care. Please save your time, money, and sanity and go elsewhere in town.
My experiences with this office have always been very professional and friendly. Scheduling was easy, the wait times minimal and the medical care attentive and friendly. Dr. West listened to my concerns and then addressed each. I would not hesitate to recommend friends and family to her.
I was well cared for by the staff from the time I called in to schedule an appointment until I checked out at the end of my visit. Excellent staff and providers!
Very professional in every respect! Great team with a helpful and understanding attitude to serve their patient's needs. A solid and comfortable choice!
Staff is kind, courteous, and efficient. Have always felt my heath and concerns were their number one priority. :)
Dermatology of Northern Colorado has always done good work for me - they are prompt on their appointments. The entire staff is very pleasant.
Tracey is very knowledgeable and thorough, always willing to help as well as her dedication to taking exceptional care of her patients. Thank you ALL!
My appointments are easy to make, easy to get in and done. Dr Hultch is quick and to the point.
I liked Dr. Perryman, however the office failed to notify me about a biopsy that come back positive. The only reason I found out is because I called to ask two weeks later. This despite the fact that they assured me they would call within a week either way - whether positive or negative.
We love Traci. She always takes great care of me and my kiddos!
Both my husband and I have found Dr. West to be through and kind. We have always been treated with respect and dignity by all the staff at this office. We recommend Dr. West for dermatology needs.
This is my first ever review of doctor before, everybody at this office is so outstanding, I had to give feedback. I've had skin issues due to allergies for years and have visited a ton of dermatologists in the multiple cities I have lived. In all that time, I have never had a PA or a Doctor spend more than a minute with me - until visiting here. Usually, they walk in look at my skin and prescribe me some lotion that doesnt work. Dr. Hultsch was really patient, listening to all my questions and asking questions about what has been done in the past until she narrowed down what is probably going on and gave me a bunch of options - that are all working. The office staff is also extremely friendly, I loved my visit!
Exorbitant fees, little actual caring about patients. I gave it a shot for six years without my acne ever going away. Instead, I developed chronic yeast infections after being put on a 200mg daily antibiotic regimen for nearly 2 years. I'm still struggling to get rid of them, but luckily due to some wonderful products from Lush and Sephora, I'm having better luck with my acne than I ever did at this clinic. It's sad when the Sephora skin care consultant spends more time with me, and suggests more effective remedies than the dermatologist to whom I payed hundreds.
Dr. West is excellent. I highly recommend her.
I called about 15 different times through the day to see if they would accept my insurance but no one ever answered the phone.
I originally called this office because one of the doctors had reasonably good reviews but they gave me Dr. Hultsch instead. It wasn't till the day before my appointment that I saw some of these reviews of Dr. Hultsch and thought about cancelling but I figured it was too late. First of all, I think Dr. Hultsch may be running some kind of insurance scam. She schedules 10 minute appointments and then, if she can't complete her work, (who could do a good job in that amount of time?) reschedules you to come back. Se bills your insurance and you have to pay a copay every time. One spot on my foot was biopsied and cam up with skin cancer. I scheduled an appointment for excision (surgery) and again they gave me a 10 minute appointment. I told the front desk I had cancer on my foot but they still went with 10 minutes. I also told them the the freezing of some non cancerous moles had not worked and needed to be redone. Still 10 minutes. I arrived at my appointment a few minutes late (less than 10) but they said they could still take me. The woman ahead of me arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes late for her appointment but they took her first. I said nothing because she had taken her kid out of school for the appointment. 40 minutes later, when I finally got into the exam room, Dr. Hultsch came in and announced that she would have to reschedule my appointment because she was now running 40 minutes late and did not want to keep her other patients waiting. I pointed out to her that I had already waited 40 minutes and I did not thin that it was right for her not to see me at this point. She clearly did not care. Please not that her office had already collected my copay and I had to demand it back. I would not be at all surprised if they bill my insurance for an appointment anyway although all she did was tell me she could not see me. I am never going back to this office and I will never ignore other people's bad reviews again. I suggest you don't either.......
I came in because of itchy skin for which the Dr suggested an over the counter lotion. She also froze a couple os spots. I was shocked to have to pay a co-pay of $150 for a 10 minute visit. I have NEVER had a copay anywhere near that, which makes me reluctant to return.
Dr. West is very knowledgeable about skin issues and has effectively treated the two of us for years. We feel it's very important to be "checked" every few years as we age to find and eliminate potentially serious unusual skin "spots", or to be reassured they are not a concern. We trust her literally with our lives during these exams, especially in Colorado...so much closer to the sun than most.
Dr. Wilke is always friendly and knowledgeable during my appointments!
This practice from front desk to doctor to check out is professional as they provide personal care. Dr West is excellent. She listens and responds without rushing. This is where I will go for may annual checks in the future.
Had a great experience. Dr. Hultch was patient, kind, knowledgable, and thorough. I will definitely go there again in the future and highly recommend the practice.
Nice staff and Dr. In and out quickly.
I appreciated the insight and personal approach given to me by Dr. Perryman and staff.
My visit to the office was fantastic, the staff was professional, courteous, appointment ran on time and the visit with the doctor was relaxing and informative.
Plan on taking out a second mortgage to have work done here, tho I will say they were nice and professional.....just wish they would have worked with me more on the price.
Relieved my suspicions:)
Great office, great staff
Very thorough examination of my skin and very happy to know I did not have a skin cancer.
Efficient, personable, effective
My appt was a Monday after an issue of about 3 weeks, then over the weekend, it seemed it finally started to resolve. I hated to cancel at the last minute Mon., so kept the appt, but everyone was so very kind, and Tracy and the staff all said they were glad I came, better to be safe than sorry. They made me feel valued and not at all like I might have wasted their time.
They performed the whole body inspection as expected and took care of problem areas on the spot. Quick and efficient.
This office is awesome and has taken care of my entire family. They even caught a very rare skin disease for my husband. The care is excellent from acne to skin disease or skin cancer.
I had a very negative experience with a doctor at this practice and had to pay 2 copays for 2 appointments with nothing to show for it. Unsympathetic practitioner and office staff that wasn't trained or knowledgeable about scheduling and cost.
BEWARE if paying out of pocket! When I had some scar tissue removed from my shin this summer, I was told the procedure would cost around $250. After budgeting for the expense, the procedure wound up being over $640, which I paid on the spot, feeling totally baffled but too embarrassed to say anything at the time. After I returned to have my stitches removed, I received a bill in the mail and was assessed an additional $91. I addressed my concerns with the office manager and asked to be set up on a payment plan for the remaining $91, spreading my payments out over the next three months. I did this mostly because I was upset and thought, “Ha-ha! I’ll show them!” I set the plan up in November and admittedly forgot to make the first months payment. I called in December, made a payment of $30, and planned to pay the remaining $61 in January. I recently received a nasty letter, dated January 2nd, from their billing department, stating that I would soon be turned over to collections! The bill previously sent to me did not list a due date and I was assured the payment plan would be acceptable to the office. I am absolutely livid about this entire situation. And rather than call the office again, I’ve simply sent my check in the mail, and will air my grievances on social media. There are so many options for dermatologists in Fort Collins: I would highly suggest choosing a different practice. BUT, if you are seen here and ever have a “misunderstanding” with this office, not to worry! For your $400+ inconvenience, they can offer you some of the dermatological products they carry!
I really enjoyed meeting Dr Anne Hultsch, it was the first time I had a full dermatology exam. She was very informative and thorough. I'm lucky to have a clean bill of healthy skin!
Courteous and friendly staff who made me leave with a smile.
My experience was fine, equal to other offices in many ways. My feedback would be that the doctor seemed to be in a hurry and was uninterested in asking questions or truly getting to know my skin health and situation. I walked out of the office having paid $280 for about 15 minutes of her time. Not a very good value in my opinion.
This is the best practice to visit for skin issues. I've gone to this practice for years and highly recommend Dermatology of Northern Colorado.
Friendly staff. The Dr. saw me right away and was very thorough, helping me with a keloid I didn't bring to her attention, but she injected to reduce swelling. I couldn't be more pleased.
Highway robbery! Dr. Hultsch was so inept at my skin check appt. I went in very nervous to be looked over thoroughly, observing the magnifying viewer connected to the bed, I sat in my apron till she came in where she just peeked down the back and that was rhe extent of my skin check. 266.00 I thought that's it? A couple weeks following I noticed a mole on my face that I just didn't like I didn't think anything of it but I wanted it removed. So I made another appointment at Dr. Hultsch's office to get it removed. The nurse said weren't you just here? I said yes and I have to tell you I'm not impressed with how not thorough her check was, and that it made me notice this mole on my face. She comes in and decides to look through her magnifier and says this looks questionable I'm gonna send it in for testing. 254. now all of this is come out of my pocket. And they charged my insurance quite a bit more money on top of that. I would never go back to this Dr. again. I would feel good if she looked at me thoroughly the first time....
I have seen all 3 of the providers here, over a couple year period. In my opinion, all 3 display a bit of an arrogant attitude, and are certainly not caring. After my 2 latest visits, I will never go back. The 1st was with Dr Hulch. I was left in a room, naked in a gown for 45 minutes. No one came to tell me she was running late or check in on me. When she finally came in, the appt was rushed (I was in for an annual skin check). I had a list of questions, she said she didn't have time for that & I'd need to come in for another appt. 3 weeks later, I came in again for a skin issue that was not addressed by Dr Hulch. This time I saw Tracy. She said I had eczema. Her attitude was arrogant. She also had the "freezing" tool, and did not freeze the main spot on my back I had wanted. After the 10 ish tiny spots she did on my legs(which she had said would be 3 or 4), I asked her how much more it would cost to do one more spot (on my hand or back). She said, I don't know...probably another $100; I'd have to do 10 more!. I will NEVER visit this office again, and would highly recommend that you don't either.
Everyone was super nice. Called back in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend coming here!!
Very professional, kind and caring.
Tracy is always on time and talks to my teenager who is the patient instead of me. He feels very comfortable talking to her. Great dermatology clinic!
I'm not one to rate people 1 star but it was close. $120 for 3 minutes with a physicians assistant after being told that's the maximum rate for a consultation - that's gouging. I was told on the phone that prices range from $80 to $121 so not sure how such a short consultation counts as that full amount. The front desk people were nice, but once I was back in consult room it felt very rushed and expensive.
Awesome staff and physicians!!
I referred my son to the practice to have a mole looked at that was unusual. He was seen for 2-3 minutes when the MD told him it was simply a birthmark and nothing to worry about. He did not receive an exam in any other part of his body which I always thought was standard procedure for a derm appt. and of course he was charged full office visit. Again how is it that you can charge for a full visit and receive a 3 min. interaction? Poor practice.
I've been a patient of Dr. Hultsch for years - always prompt, very professional and listens and responds to my concerns and questions like she cares.
As always, Tracy Wilke was pleasant, professional, and thorough, making sure to ask me, first and last, if I had any concerns or questions about my skin condition or care. Tracy has taken great care of me for a number of years now, and I hope she will continue to for many more.
Easy to schedule appointment and staff is friendly.
Very congenial and professional environment! My concerns were addressed and treated very quickly, and I was on my way.
Throughout my experience I felt like they lacked healthcare professional communication skills, and to be honest I went to better me acne but it seemed to have got worse. Also, they seem to have trouble sending you're prescriptions to your pharmacist, so I just stopped going.
Dermatology of Northern Colorado has been my skin-watchers for years. I've always had wonderful experiences (and I've had plenty of screenings and more). I always leave feeling so grateful for these caring and thorough caregivers.
I've not been to a more professional office. From the time I called, to the doctor, and paying for the care. You guys are amazing!!
Horrible Horrible service very insensitive! Rude and rushed the appointment.
