I will start by saying I have not yet met Dr Barrow , which I was recommended by a friend to him, and my rating is based on the lack of communication in his billing department, front staff and schedulers. With coming out of state and both my husband and I starting new jobs, we didn't have our insurance cards yet but being 20weeks pregnant I set up an appt. after which I knew we would have active insurance. The 3 weeks to that appointment the office has called me repeatedly asking for my insurance information in which I repeated I would bring in my appt date. Unsatisfied with this answer they continued to call me on even more of a number of occasions to tell me I would owe $$$, my total deductible cost; in which I found so unprofessional like any other office I've ever experienced in the past, including my 12wk OB appt I had before moving. I continued to call my insurance company to find out more about these demands to learn of a new terminology, "global billing". I felt it is the responsibility of the front desk to explain what this is, why it is out of the norm, and perhaps-wait to explain when I come in for my appt rather than blurting false numbers out I'm demanded to pay without having all our insurance information. Just to TOP it off, I had called to make an appt with Dr Barrow, to find out in passing conversation I was scheduled to see Amanda, the NP. I had he expectation of seeing whom I set the appt up with and if it was anyone else, I feel it to be the schedulers job to inform everyone, including new patients. I wish I had a choice of another provider because this staff is less than 1 star if I could give it to any Drs visits, including OB I have ever dealt with in the past.
