The Front desk staff are very rude I will longer be bringing my child here after today but I must say their pediatrician was amazing. Too bad their whole team weren't as welcoming as the pediatrician was

Took our daughter here. The Dr., it was a lady, was so nice and kind. You could tell she really had a care for our daughter. They have a brilliant idea of having two waiting rooms, one for sick and the other for kids that are well. So nice and smart!! She even called us after hours on Sunday to check on our daughter! We are very thankful and grateful. Most of all we thank our Lord Jesus :)

Dr Pham has been seeing my son since birth. I absolutely LOVE Surprise Pediatrics. Every visit has been a friendly and helpful one. My son has seen Dr Marcello a few times and she is just as wonderful. The staff has always been very nice a welcoming. My husband and I are very grateful to have such great Pediatricians for our 6 year old.

I have taken all 4 of my kids here for the past 11 years and I will drive out of my way to ensure they continue to be cared for by the doctors here. Dr. Marcelo is our dr and she is phenomenal. The staff is amazing as well. They have always been attentive, friendly and treated my family with genuine care. I highly recommend this office

We had Dr.Pham since day one. I'm a first time mom so of course like any mom, I asked a lot of questions. He was always good at answering all my questions and had patience with me. When I first looked into this office when I was pregnant, they told me they would always squeeze in kids when they're sick. Well, my 8 month old son got sick. He was coughing, sneezing(sounds like a cold right?) Than the next day it went down into his chest and it scared me. I called them in the morning at about 9am last week and the office lady was very rude to me about it. She said no. They wouldn't get him in. I tried explaining to her that he's only 8 months old and it's in his chest, that he needed to be heard. And she told me no. I was furious. I was worried for my baby. I had no idea what to do, with urgent care being on option it's also a lot more money. I called lake pleasant pediatric and they got me in as a new patient and the same day and saw my son!!! I already drove 40 minutes to surprise pediatrics, but after that, I am now driving an hour to go to lake pleasant pediatric.. between the two.. I'd definitely choose my second choice over any day!!! Super super highly recommend l.p.p!

We’ve been seeing Dr. Pham for 2 1/2 years and we’ve always appreciated his professionalism and kindness. When we went in for my youngest child’s 1st check up at 2 weeks, she wasn’t gaining weight. I was breastfeeding and he was so kind and understanding. He reassured me that I was doing all I could and that I could either supplement or keep trying. He made me feel so much better about my efforts to be a good mom. He didn’t push anything on me. He gave me choices and proceeded with understanding. We have never had to wait an extended amount of time to be seen and Dr. Pham promptly gets back to us when we call after hours.

I'm disappointed in this practice. They confirmed receiving my son's bloodwork and bone scan, but after faxing them the consent form (allowing them to release a copy to me), I was told they would send it within 30 days! Really? 30 days to fax me something you acknowledge having? She said they only have 1 person working that department and it will be sent to me in the order received.

I just have to say that as a mom I will not recommend any one to take their kids to this office. my baby was born with baby acne. from day one I have been showing and voicing my concern about her skin condition. and the DR. kept telling me that it will go away in a month. well my baby is 4 month old, she has already been in the hospital because of DR. advice. she has been bleeding from her face and puss was coming out of her pores. when I called to talk to the DR. or to make urgent app. to see the DR. I was told that she can be seen sometime the middle of next week. I will not name the doctor but because of lack of care and miss guidance from that office my baby ended up in the hospital. I am furious because of the way my baby has been treated in that office. arrowhead hospital where my baby was stated that the attending DR. at the SURPRISE PEDS SHOULD OF RECOMMENDED THIS INFANT TO DERM. SPECIALIST. they should of given you the parent instructions how to take care of the skin problem this baby was having. surprise peds is very careless, very unprofessional, and have no compassion for their patients at all. but they are very quick on collection a co pay.

The girl at the front window was so rude we left and will never go back , we went to the urgent Care on Reems and Bell and they were very caring and helpful !

Our children have been patients of Dr Pham since our oldest was born over 12 years ago and would not want to go anywhere else. I love that he is conservative with medicine and prefers not to give antibiotics for everything. Both doctors are very personable and relatable and in all the years we have been there I have only had one negative experience but that was not their fault (a patient emergency delayed our visit and I had a miserable, sick baby waiting) but they were very apologetic anyway.

Renata Marie

We have been going here for 4+ years with our daughter ever since we picked them as our primary pediatrician and Dr. Pham came to the hospital for the first check-up. I love the fact that whenever she is sick, I know I am going to get in that day. We have seen Dr. Pham, Dr. Marcelo, and PA Johanna and we love them all. Angie at the front desk is also wonderful, and so are the rest of the staff (I just don't remember all of their names!).

This office should not be treating or smallest most vulnerable. I took my little one to both Dr. Pham and Marcello hoping that a change would spur results. I should have changed offices completely, and it would have saved years of OT, PT, and speech therapies. I am a mom that chooses to split up vaccines (yes, one of those). My little one also was ill for a very long time. I brought this to the attention of the doc on many occasions and was dismissed as being over-attentive or worrisome. The length of time we are talking about here is months. Many, many months. So many months, in fact, that a single vaccine was given that then caused a severe reaction. My little one survived, was found to have a severe upper respiratory infection at the time the vaccine was given, and now has to undergo continuous therapy. Had they given more than one vaccine that day my child may not have survived, because the doctor wasn't doing her job. How this office has been able to stay in business is beyond me, other than they are practicing on our weakest of humans that cannot talk and defend themselves. It's sad. As an end note I've waited almost a year before posting a review regarding this office. I wanted to make certain that feelings were not guiding my words. The repeated negative feedback is alarming and should be taken seriously by those considering taking their children there. There are SO many more offices out there. Ex: I got lucky with Dr. Han @ Statler and Litchfield. I've also heard of a Dr. Barbarinde in Sun City being very good. (FYI not an advertisement for them.) Unfortunately, for my child I didn't start asking around until AFTER I needed a new doctor. Don't settle because a doctor is close. And if something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.

Awful place to bring your kid. My son was born with a hernia. The Hernia was stopping his testicles from descending. Dr Sham, I mean Pham said it wasn't a big deal and it would resolve itself. He also ignored 7 ear infections over the first year, as well as not diagnosing him with RADS or providing us with a nebuliser so he could breathe. We were first time parents and may have been too quick to bring our son to the Dr when he ran a fever or coughed all night. And Dr Sham was very quick to point it out. He frequently would roll his eyes, talk down to my wife and I, and leave the visit with out ever examining our son. Because we were recommended by a friend who just had her first kid 3 months before us, and she was recommended by her friend who had a 5 year old, we thought he was supposed to be good, and we deserved this treatment. Again we were being overly protective as new parents. Well then the day of reckoning came. The family that has the 5 year old was having immediate surgery to fix their son's undescended testicles. This was interesting because Dr Sham told us there was no problem with our son's issue and it would fix itself. Turns out our friend with the kid who was 3 months older then ours also had the same issue and her specialist recommended immediate surgery as testicles that do not descend in the first few weeks after birth will not, and there is usually a hernia blocking the decent. Smash cut to us firing Mr. Sham and going to the specialist for the same procedure as our friends. He missed it for at least the 3 of us. The family with the 5 year old may never be able to have kids because of his negligence. Our new pediatrician is amazing, our son has never been more healthy since shaking free of that monster, and his practice. We got tubes for his ears and that stopped all the infections. We got his RADS under control and now we don't worry that an attack could stop him from being able to breathe while he is at daycare. Please avoid this place and Mr. Sham, for your kids sake.

The staff are great with kids! Fun environment for an often scary place for kids

When dealing with the doctors they're great but the staff is another thing. Today my experience with the office manager Sharold was horrific. After filling out a release form on March 14th and requesting my son's med. records to be sent to a developmental peds office to set an appointment which has a waitlist of 9-12 months I was told it was never sent. Sharold told me that every one in the office had been sick and to allow 14 business day, it had been more then a month. Nothing was sent over and her lack of accountability or to even apologize that it never got sent was appalling. To add to her lack of care, my son's disability and the urgency to see a developmental doctor was disregarded by a cold hearted office manager who said she will add his file to the pile. I'm sorry surprise pediatrics but you truly dropped the ball on this one and for that a complaint has been put in with the AZ department of health services, also my children will no longer be in your care.

Service has went down. Needs not met. A list goes on. Rude staff answering phones. My child was there on a Monday, when it was a holiday from school. But the woman that saw him did not check his lungs. The only thing that she had the assistant do is a strep and flu test. I had mentioned to them, especially her, that my child had bronchitis in the recent past and she still did not bother to check. Another thing, with medication, our pediatrician had given my children Tussin or some medication to help with the terrible cough and pain, which now is bronchitis... but these providers just tell you rudely "I can't take away the cough, what do you want me to do, have the child take a 5 minute shower to loosen the mucus". Don't you think that we have been trying to address every problem by the best way possibl?!! Rethoric quesiton. I was hoping to find a decent provider for my children, but we went from bad to even worse. We have health nsurance, it's not like they are working for free. At least do your job properly and fix the rudeness of the staff and yourself. Sickening experiences for sure. All in the trajectory of three days. I ended up paying my copayment, for the provider to blow us off. Sad, simply sad.

Ard Brittony

Keeps you waiting forever. Says each check up, even a 103 degree fever is normal. Keeps you waiting way past appointment time before being seen, at least 40 minutes. Always have to get a secpnd opinion when a child is sick to find out what is really wrong. Dr. Pham is the worst! Do not take your sick kids here!

Siera Owens

I love this office for my daughter! She is now two years old and I have never had a bad experience with the staff or Drs! I highly recommend this office!

antwanette goode

LOVE our Pediatrician, we follow her anywhere!! But I absolutely despise this new office. It doesn't matter if we have an appointment, arrive early or on time, we are still made to wait. Even when other patients show up after us! It's happened every time we've been here (other than our initial appt when she transferred here).

Mileika Trinidad

I dont normally leave any reviews , but I have to on this office. I had read bad reviews left by other parents and thought I would give them a chance since my kids had been there when they were little. I will NOT be going back. The customer service was awful. I didn't feel as anyone cared for me or my son. I would not recomend this office. I will be looking for a new pediatrician. They just lost 3 patients.

I like this place because it's really close in our house. The only thing that this place or the people that work in there they don't have consideration I call to make a schedule on the day that I can come in because of husband's schedule that we cant adjust whatever schedule or reschedule anytime we want. And I got a call from the office that they need to cancel my schedule that I scheduled a week ago because one of the doctor is not around. They don't even try to schedule me on that day that I schedule and they just cancelled my appointment without asking me if it is okay. They didn't even try to say sorry to me me. That my appointment has been cancelled. It really disappoint me that people who work in there didn't have consideration that you make that appointment in advance to put your two kids in together that you don't need to drive to different time. Hope people who work in there will how consideration.

waiting area has a well side and a not well side. Great idea. waiting is minimal. Great staff and Doctors are very good with the kids. They addressed all my concerns for our kids. We have special needs children and they recommended the right specialists as well as met the in office medical needs spot on.

Unless you are fortunate enough to work with Angie, the office staff over the past few years is terrible. My daughters have been patients way longer than any of them have worked here and they are so very rude, including comments under their breath. No one seems to have answers, policies change from visit to visit. After 14 years, there is no consistencey of care, we are definitely not treated as valued patients. If I ask a question or wonder why things are different than they were, I'm met with short, rude answers as if I'm lying about how it was or what we've done before. I like Dr Marcello & the medical assistants & nurses but when we can't get pleasantly past the front desk, it's just not worth it anymore.

I love Surprise Pediatrics!! All of the doctors are wonderful! After Young Pediatrics closed I went to another pediatrician but didn’t like them. So I changed to Surprise Peds and am very happy I did!!!

I love doctors here. My son has thyroid issues since he was born and they have always helped me .They make sure his specialist and their team know want they are doing.

I gave this place three tries before making my decision because I don't like to jump the gun. My first visit I saw a doctor Mendoza who was fabulous but the nurse we had to deal with for 15 minutes prior was one of the worst I've ever had and was shoving things in my daughters face who is one years old without even saying a word to her. My first visit I saw a doctor Mendoza who was fabulous but the nurse we had to deal with for 15 minutes prior was one of the worst I've ever had and was shoving things in my daughters face was one years old without even saying a word to her. The next doctor I saw was very average but not really very polite, and the one I just saw it last week was so rude I was tempted to really let him have it in the middle of the office. He was making me feel like an idiot for even being in there about constipation for my one year old. A good doctor will always make you feel like that is what they are therefore. When I followed up with the office to let them know about my experience they shrugged it off rudely and when I asked to see the first doctor they continue to ask me why and what I needed to be seen for and when I told them they seemed confused. We only chose this place because Dr. Young at Young AZ Pediatrics closed down and he was absolutely awesome. Take it from a caring parent, this is not a place you want to go . I can only imagine that any reviews that are above one or two stars are based on one quick experience there and have not really taking the time for full judgment .

Laura Micani

My two kids go here. We have always had a great experience. Dr Pham is knowledgeable and he listens. Thank you.

BEFORE I EVEN WENT, I called to make a appointment and the receptionist wouldnt even book an appiontment until i gave her my daughters 12 months shot date. she explained i needed that then call back to make the appointment. So I found the information and called to try it again, but i recieved a different person. she was nice and to the point, she booked the appointment and did ask for the shot information like the first girl had. After haning up i realized this was something that needed to be addressed. I called and got the first person i tryed to book with, i explained i wanted to speak with a supper and she tryed to fix this situatuation with telling me that the girl who booked the appiontment was new and didnt know what she was doing. I explainded again to please give me a supper, so she transfered me to a women who wasnt a supper and she tryed give me the run around and give me back to the girl who booked the appiontment. After telling her 3 times to give me to a supper she reluctantly did. when i spoke with there manager she appologized for the problem and told me she was going to try to fix the problem. By then i wanted my appiontment cancled and told her if this was my practice i wouldnt want this to be my potential clients ffirst impression. WHAT A MESS, NO THANK YOU

This place is terrible. When I went to see the doctor, she did not even prescribe me anything. Just over-the-counter stuff because it was just a cold. I had to go the hospital after my problems were getting serious. The doctor there examined me and said it was strep throat, and prescribed me medication. Because of this place, I have had to miss my school and stay sick even longer because I didn't get any medication. Don't come if you want to stay sick.

I ended up having to go to Surprise pediatrics because my sons current PCP would not wait to do his circumcision and Surprise Pediatrics would. I ended up having my son's 2 month check up their as well because we did his follow up visit for the circ. the same day. The positive side is that the front office staff is friendly and it is very easy to get in for an appointment! The negative is I am a FTM and I don't feel as if I was fully prepared for go home care instructions for my son's circ. When we went back for the follow up she had informed us that we would have to peel his skin back bc it heeled wrong. I feel like if I was told from the beginning to watch how it was heeling and to make sure we pull it back a little bit every diaper change it would not have heeled wrong and my son would not have to endure so much pain! :-(

Douglas Pierson

It was really easy to make an appointment. We also got a lot of help with our insurance and the type of coverage that we have. We waited in the waiting room for a little while however there was a sign there that explained why the wait might be a little bit longer so for me that was everything. Then we went into the room and the nurse was really professional. Got our son weighed and measured. Then we got to meet the doctor. He was hilarious. He definitely made a good couple jokes but also give us a lot of good parenting tips and put us at ease with our sons development. our entire process was perfect. I definitely would recommend this place to anybody who has a young son or daughter.

Jessica Hammon

We just moved here and needed a new pediatrician. We took our 14 year old son today, and met with Dr Pham. He is wonderful! He spent a lot of time talking to us and our son. We didn’t feel rushed and he was very thorough and kind and had a great sense of humor. We were instantly comfortable. I would recommend him and his office to anyone looking for a great pediatrician!

Kevin Brandon

People typically only place a review when they are upset and barely ever when they are pleased. The staff of Surprise Pediatrics are professional, friendly, and have helped my children countless times. I'll especially never forget the christmas eve crayon extraction from my 2 year old's nose! We're moving in a week, I will miss this location that I have trusted with my childrens health for the last 6 years.
