Dr was over an hour late for my appointment. I understand that things can happen however I had to sit there and listen to the three women at the front desk, talk poorly about every single person coming, going and even calling that office. I cannot believe the level of petty unprofessionalism displayed by the front office. Clearly they aren’t worried about patients privacy or even behaving in a dignified manner. I’ll keep searching for a more professional dermatologist.

I was happy with Dr. Kim

Made an appointment a month and a half in advance and a week prior to my appointment I get a phone call saying that the person I had scheduled my appointment with is now going to be unavailable. They looked at the schedule and the next availability was another month and a half later. They expect me to wait another month and a half to add up to 3 months before getting seen? I don’t think so. This place is a scam and a bunch of other people are having this same issue. Awful customer service. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I went in for a normal checkup. The doctor did not do a complete exam but took four biopsies. Two weeks later I get a call for a nurse that assume the doctor had already talked to me. She wanted to schedule a procedure to remove a "non-cancerous" portion from one of the biopsied areas on my back. I scheduled and arrived at the office to be ushered in to a room and prepared for a more major event than I anticipated. When the doctor came in to prepare I asked about the procedure and she informed me it was read as pre-melanoma cells and I would have a major incision with margins taken. It would be require 18+ stitches to close the wound. They numbed the area but after 25 minutes of digging the doctor hit an un-numbed area that had me almost fall of the table. They re numbed the area and complete the procedure in two hours. When I came out to the waiting area my girlfriend was frightened. We had assume 20-30 minutes or less to remove a "non-cancerous" spot. To further screw up the experience, Spectrum overcharged me for the procedure and I had to get me insurance company involved to get the bill reduced several hundred dollars. The billing company said they would send a new bill with the overcharges removed but never did. I was contacted yesterday by the billing company used by Spectrum and paid the reduced charge. I discourage anyone from using Spectrum Dermatology until they institute procedures that stop poor examinations, bad communicate, operating accidents and bad billing.

This was an average place for cosmetic services. The procedures I had that required injections (Botox) were a mess. They were painful and left obvious bruising. The injections were done by a doctor on staff, and clearly not skilled or else not perceptive about how to do an injection without those effects. As for facial treatments, the staff didn't offer much. They were not particularly informative, didn't give any advice, didn't provide any feedback - just did what I had specifically asked for without comment or even much instruction. I probably wouldn't recommend this place, although it served the purpose I went for. They weren't able to accommodate my busy schedule, although they had a nice system for reminders of upcoming appointments.

I see Lauren in the Aesthetics Department and she is wonderful. Lauren is professional, runs on time, and provides me with every comfort necessary when I am in the office. I have had Cool Sculpting, Laser Treatments, and Botox.

Paid a $50.00 copay for a 2 min consultation! My issue wasn't even resolved! Probably one of the worst dermatology places I've ever been to! They even ask you to put a credit card on file???? I've never seen that! Will never go again!

I was recommended to Spectrum Dermatology by a friend of mine, and I have had nothing but good experiences thus far. Bernadette Boyle is by far the best esthetician that I have ever had. She is super knowledgeable, gives great advice, and is very friendly and sweet. I would recommend her and Spectrum to anyone with skincare needs.

Suzen Gordon

AWFUL PLACE!! Please read my yelp review. Do not go there unless you don't care about your health. Spectrum Dermatology ONLY cares about money!!!

olivia nicole ricafort

Doctor Kim and her staff were knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. They were able to diagnose my skin problem and solve it after a few sessions. This place is highly recommended.

Bill Dean

DR. NANCY KIM & her staff are as good as we can hope for & expect from a very difficult proffesion. My wife & I have been a patient more than 8 years.. We would NEVER leave this team of SPECTRUM DERMOTOLOGY!!

Hank Stites

Dr. Kim is the best. I would not go anywhere else to get my yearly skin check.

Carey Cohen

We love Spectrum Dermatology (especially Dr. Rubenzik). The staff is friendly and helpful while the doctor is very knowledgeable and informative.

I went for the first time ever for a full body skin screening thanks to my sister informing me of such a test and I suggest everyone do this, especially living in Arizona. Dr. Christle Layton was very kind, thorough, professional and informative. She asked if I had any questions and answered any I did have. She also found things I didn't know I had and gave me medicine to treat them. I will and already have, recommended Spectrum and Dr. Layton to people and my appointment was only 3 days ago. Also if you're a new patient, like I was, and don't have your paperwork done, like I didn't, go in 45-60 minutes early, like I did so you don't throw off their scheduling. I went back to the examining room only 10 minutes after my scheduled time because I was there early, not signing in at my scheduled time or after. I never felt rushed or ignored by anyone in the office, they were all pleasant. The office was very clean and pleasing to the eyes with a huge waiting area. 5 stars! I look forward to my next appointment with Dr. Layton and her assistant.

DeAnne Pride

Love DR. Kim. This office saved my life when the discovered my melanoma. Grateful everyday!!

I have been going to Spectrum Dermatology for over a year, 3 times, and everyone is very professional and never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable and I highly recommend this place.

Steve Gottschalk

Katherine the NP-C was very professional. She took care of my concerns about the lesions on my outer ear. She gave me Nitrogen Therapy and I was much relieved. However, The Billing Department in LA has sent me(yesterday) a bill from last March (Dr. Oneill) on a co-pay That Humana denied, and said I was not responsible for with my Medigap policy. I hope this is not a on going issue. I like all the Doctors and Staff at Spectrum, and hope I can continue to be a patient.

Fineli Kethis

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU MAKE LESS THAN 6 FIGURES A YEAR! Snobs! Only interested in the super wealthy and not helping people but enlarging beasts and rhinoplasty. You come to them with a general health problem they will dodge your phone calls and give you excuses for why they cannot help you, but it boiled down to "Dr Stetson only likes to do the 'fun' stuff not the helping people get better stuff."

V Ray Long

Wonderful experience. Dr. Kim is the best. She is caring, compassionate and understanding of any and all needs for dermatology

Nancy Kim is so careful and does not take any chances! I feel totally secure in their office and know that they have personalized treatments to me.

I have been consistently seen almost an hour after my appointment time three times in a row. I have been told bad information from staff which has caused my treatment to be delayed. If you're looking for a dermatologist, I would find another office that better respects your time and money.

Michelle Weber

If you are looking to be a quick in and out number for them to cash in money, this place is for you! I saw Dr. Darren West in February, and he prescribes two prescriptions during my visit. After six phone calls to the office, I still have nothing but the used up sample tube. They refuse to give me my prescriptions. It is super perplexing why this would be a practice and why they would waste my time? Could it be that they don't get kickbacks on the prescriptions, so they can't be bothered? I have visited this office three times. Each time, it is very disorganized and cold. My last visit, I had to leave after 50 minutes because they had "no idea how much longer it would be." It is ok to be running late, but to run so late, without a word, care or apology to your patient is disrespectful to my time. The receptionist was very short like she was doing me a favor for even acknowledging my presence when I did get her to look up and acknowledge me. This place is all fancy office, all show. Health care is not a primary concern, and I don't even think it's secondary. Don't waste your co-pay here for a specialist like I did. I found out legally I can't get my hands on the prescription and I was forced to make an appointment with another Dermatologist to solve my problem. More money, and more importantly more time trying to solve something so simple and forcing me to spend the time to write this review to help others avoid this situation. It's silly and unnecessary. All they had to do was do what they said they would do. Beware of Spectrum Dermatology!

Merrill Lawson

Without requesting my approval they used a lab that was NOT covered by my insurance provider and now the lab says I'm responsible for the $250 bill. I've called their billing department and left several messages for "Suzie" who heads their billing department but I've yet to receive a call back. Very Disappointing!!! I will not be using their services again!

Jess

I have been a patient of Dr. Kim's and Spectrum forever, probably close to when the practice opened. In its early years, it was well known to be the best dermatology practice in the city. Sadly, this is clearly not the case anymore. In recent years I have seen many other providers because it's become challenging to get in to see Dr. Kim, but I do schedule out to see her occasionally so she's my provider of record. All of the providers I've seen have been great, so I don't have an issue seeing other providers. I would give the providers 5 stars, this review is for the customer service. However, I recently had the most traumatizing experience I've ever had with ANY practice. I noticed a suspicious spot that I suspected was possibly skin cancer. I recently had a melanoma death in my immediate family and noticed the spot two days after, so I was pretty shaken when I called to schedule an appointment. The scheduling woman who answered my call could NOT HAVE BEEN LESS COMPASSIONATE TO SOMEONE WHO SUSPECTS THEY MAY HAVE CANCER. I was aghast at the entire experience, and came off the phone shaking and crying and have not called back, and seeking out a new dermatologist. I am in the healthcare industry myself, so I called and explained my situation (I have a spot I think could be cancer), and said I was a patient of Dr. Kim's and asked if I see another provider (because I knew I couldn't get in for a routine appt soon with her) and it turns out a biopsy shows cancer, would I be able to have Dr. Kim do the surgery? I realize this was jumping ahead, but I know the routine in medicine generally so I wanted to have a plan. She kept interrupting me and stating that Dr. Kim doesn't have any appointments until October. I asked repeatedly "So if I have cancer, I cannot get in to see MY DOCTOR?" Every practice I know has procedures to handle surgery appts once a diagnosis has been made. The scheduler just kept interrupting me and arguing with me insisting that Dr. Kim doesn't have any appointments. I was not demanding to see Dr. Kim immediately! However, I couldn't get a word in edgewise with her, she just kept jumping to conclusions and thinking I was demanding an appt w/ Dr. Kim. I was merely asking (repeatedly, yet she did not ONCE listen to me) if I needed surgery, can I get in to see Dr. Kim. FINALLY at the end of the conversation she said that yes, if I have cancer, they can get me in sooner. SERIOUSLY. I still can't believe this conversation happened, it was literally insane! If you're in customer service in healthcare dealing with sensitive issues, you really need to have some compassion and empathy for the patient on the other end of the line and consider what they could be going through. If she would've just stopped talking and LISTENED to me for 20 seconds and not immediately jumped to the conclusion that I was demanding an appointment right now and then with Dr. Kim, I would not be writing this review. To the leadership at Spectrum: Please start reading your reviews and get these people some customer service training. They are the face of your practice! If the way I was treated (someone who is in healthcare and understands how practices are run) is indicative of the way all patients are treated, it would be quite disturbing and sad.

This is a really well-organized SCAM. Be aware! They are really remarkable in taking your money and provide the worst services. As an older person, I've trusted their guidance to find out that the next-door dermatologist office would charge me less than half for the exact same service. It is not only about the money and assistance, but the waiting time is also almost an hour while the doctor or nurse will rush you in less than 5 minutes. Save your money and be smart, avoid these thieves! Find a caring dermatologist for you and your loved ones. Blessings!

About two weeks ago I went to the office to have some dark spots removed.......before Lauren started I told her not to remove a mole on my left cheek (it has been there for many years) she said OK.........the mole is gone and I am livid !!!

Marlene Strang

I showed up for my first appointment and the Dr. was running over an hour late. I had to walk out and I will not be rescheduling.

I could not have been more pleased with Dr. Chen. She is not only a physician whom I trust but I also consider her a friend. Barb Haines

Dr. Layton took great care of me when I had melanoma. She is very thorough and out of the hundreds of freckles I have, she found the one that was deadly. I feel like she saved my life.

Kelsey L

This practice is amateur, negligent, and insulting. (For my first appointment, I waited for 1.5 hours after my scheduled appointment time before I was called back) VISIT 1: I went because I had a new mole I was worried about. She also looked at my acne, but that was not the main reason for my visit. She looked at the mole, measured it, photographed it, and told me to come back in 6 weeks to check it. (I came back in 6 weeks, and waited 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment before I was called back.) VISIT 2: She came in and looked at my acne, told me she would prescribe a stronger topical as well as a spot treatment, and started walking out the door. I asked her if she was going to look at my mole. She was surprised (clearly hadn’t looked at my chart before my treatment), looked at it, and said it was fine. I told her it was larger, and that she had measured it last time. Again, she was surprised. So she finally looked at my chart and measured my mole. It indeed was larger, needed to be removed, and ended up being “abnormal” per the lab results. I would still have it today if I hadn’t told her to do her job. All the while the attitude was that I was being a bother and she had other places to be. More fun facts: - They gave me the same face cream instead of a stronger dosage. I tried for about a month (and at least an hour spent on hold) to get the correct dosage to no avail. I give up. - They never called in the spot treatment cream she was going to prescribe, so I just never got that. - I called back to ask what “abnormal mole” means and the lady seriously responded with “it’s a mole that’s abnormal” and was rude when I asked what that meant. - I called to fix their errors with their prescriptions, was on unending hold, got calls returned days to a week later, and got more mis-information when they did call back (yes, we will have that topical at the front desk for you! They didn’t…they actually didn’t have it at all on the premises.) I gave them multiple times with multiple locations to not treat me like cattle, and they failed every time. Their actual diagnosis and prescription of medications was inaccurate, which seems like the only responsibility they have as doctors. Do not go here for medical dermatological reasons. They do not have your health as their primary focus.

Michele Webb

Is there such thing as a 0 star? Poor service from the start, from the staff, office personnel, and the doctors themselves. Try leaving a message for the doctor and see if you give a call back. Try seeing if a doctor will spend more than two minutes with you if you are there for medical dermatology versus someone there for a cosmetic procedure. No thanks. This business needs a complete makeover themselves. The hour over your appointment time until they see you is not worth the wait let alone the lack of respect or concern they have for treating you.

Carol Goyena

Very pleased with Dr. Kim and the staff. Knowledgeable and efficient. She has taken several biopsies in the past years, some were cancerous, others not. Always got a follow up phone call to either come and have the mole removed, or to tell me it's okay, not to worry. Highly recommend Spectrum Dermatology.

Floyd Harris

Spectrum Dermatology was and has been a wonderful place for skin related solutions.

Jen Hail

The professionalism of the doctors in this practice is the worst I have ever experienced! I would never recommend them. Very condescending, bad attitude, and they treat women patients poorly. The employee turn over is quick and the two providers I saw were equally as cold! Do not trust them with your skin!

Amber King

I wish I could give 0 stars! I didn’t feel welcomed at all! The lady at the front desk didn’t know what she was doing. They couldn’t care less about their patients. I went in for a full body check and for acne, they said they only had time for the full body check and I would have to reschedule for the acne appointment. Which was never an issue or explained when I called to make the appointment for both. When it was time to reschedule they didn’t even help me reschedule, they just left fast and didn’t say anything. definitely don’t recommend.

I have been going to Spectrum Dermatology for many years now. I have had the pleasure of seeing three of the dermatologist. Juliette McCaphry was the first dermatologist I met and the one I went to most. She was wonderful. Always friendly, kind, professional, and always made sure I knew and understood whatever treatment or process was happening. I saw Dr. Kim once and she too was kind, professional, and wonderful. Since Juliette is on leave, today I saw Dr. Layton. She was absolutely lovely. So kind and considerate. It can be quite nerve racking and uncomfortable to be so exposed when getting a full body mole check but both Dr. Layton and Juliette were so amazing at making me as comfortable as possible. Also, all three of the dermatologists’ assistants were great. They always take great care.

I went to Spectrum Dermatology for my first ever session of eMatrix with Bernandette Boyle. The entire experience was amazingly easy and enjoyable. Bernadette did an exceptional job in our consultation session with explaining options and next steps. She took the time to answer all my questions and I never felt rushed. Then, on the day of the procedure, she was so pleasurable to work with and the time flew by. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in having some work done. I look forward to my next sessions!

Ellen S

Great staff, no wait, beautiful office and Dr. Kim is the BEST!! Professional, thorough and sooo nice!

Liz Caray

Terrible patient care. Very hard to see the Dr’s even when you are diagnosed with melanoma, they tell you to come every 3-4 months for your check up but they cancel on you and they don’t care about rescheduling you to get in, no one cares. I need to find a better place to go. Will not go back .

Cindy Golding

Although I had successfully completed the levulan photodynamic therapy for pre-cancerous cells and actinic keratosis with Spectrum Dermatology before (previous treatment 2016), I'm very disappointed with recent results. This technician's first step was to clean my face with Accutane ... in retrospect, I should have questioned this .. Next, without the benefit of the cotton headband to protect my hairline, she coated my face with Levulan and then made it clear she was not familiar with the product nor how long to leave it on before washing off. Thereby, leaving treatment room to consult with another (maybe more qualified) staffer. I regret not asking to speak with that person before allowing her to proceed. While it's too early to tell, I barely peeled and quite frankly not very confident with result as I can clearly see actinic keratosis above left eyebrow ... my hairline, without benefit of the protective cotton/terrycloth headband, was a sticky mess ... while I don't believe it was her intention to do a poor job, we both would have benefitted from proper supervision.

Linda Kimps

Amber was wonderful. She immediately knew what my skin affliction was, gave me options and proceeded to treat it. I would return to Spectrum based on that service.

bh macpherson

Spectrum Dermatology is the most inept rude firm I've ever dealt with in my life! From the front office receptionist, who didn't even offer a glass of water in 100 degree heat to the accounting office, they are dumber than posts! Steer clear of this office and staff if you value your skin!

Samantha Crespo

If setting up an appointment was this difficult, I can’t even imagine what meeting the staff and doctors and proceeding to treatment at this facility is like. Monotone receptionists that were not helpful either.

Samantha Lemelin

Dr. Rubenzik was very knowledgeable, sincere, and kind. If it wasn’t for her, I would not remain a patient at spectrum dermatology. My experience with one of the administrative staff is the reason why I give spectrum dermatology a one star. She was extremely unprofessional, and anything but understanding or courteous. You have no idea what kind of day people are having or what personal struggles people are going through. It takes a lot for someone to seek help from health care professionals. Being one myself, I was very disappointed with the way several situations were handled during my new patient intake check in. There was no reason for attitude or rudeness. As I said before, people are not perfect. A little bit of respect and graciousness will go a long way.

Paul Scortea

After you make an appointment 2 months in advance then they call you 1 day before if You can change your schedule and come at a different hour. But if you are 10 min late you came for nothing. They just think that their time is valuable anf mine not. Never again.

KEN H

My visit was great as usual. The wait time was very short.Dr. Kim and her staff are very courteous and professional. She takes her time looking at you,she is not in and out in two minutes like my former doctors. That is why they are not my doctors any longer. Also it is nice to go to a doctor that is recognized as a phoenix magazine top doctor year after year and is at the top of her profession. She cares more about her patients health rather than the number of patients she can see in a day.I would recommend spectrum dermatology to anybody.Thank You,Ken.

Mike Leavelle

Was completely satisfied with Dr Kim.

Daniel Lasserre

Dr Randi did a very professional work during my first visit, listening to my concerns, taking appropriate actions.
