This review is not based on any actual medical procedures performed by Dr. Nelson I never got that far.............Was scheduled for a consult for a vasectomy at 3:30pm arrived 20 mins early to fill out paperwork as they suggest. Sat in waiting room until 4pm. Then was taken back and the nurse took my BP then walked out. Sat in the room for an hour with no one ever coming in to check on me. Finally I opened the door and asked if they forgot about me. Dr. Nelson proceeded to tell me that they were backed up due to a few emergency that had arose during the day. I said I totally get it and those come before me, but if you guys knew you were that backed up (over an hour and a half) that you should have COMMUNICATED that to me when I checked in. My time is just as valuable as yours and that small courtesy would have saved me from being an upset customer writing a 1 star review. I understand having a busy medical practice and the demands it puts on the staff, but I'm in management and the thing I always tell my team members is no matter what COMMUNICATION is the one thing beyond all others that you have full control of.

I have been a kidney stone patient for many years, but recently relocated to AZ and fortunately I "discovered" Dr. Nelson and his excellent reviews. In the past, my kidney stones have been particularly challenging to break up and remove. While I have previously had excellent urological care, my stones were broken up by various methods, and over a period of time, worked their way out of my kidneys with various levels of pain. However, during my most recent lithotripsy, Dr. Nelson not only broke up my stones, but removed them. So, no pain after the procedure. Dr. Nelson and his staff listened very carefully to my history and were very interested in my overall well being. They have my highest recommendation.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. When me and my fiance first went there, they acted liked they actually cared. But the second you walk out of that office they are never to be heard from again. We were told that we would get a call back within a couple days letting us know if we would be able to get us in the following week. We never got a phone call back. It has been over a week and my fiance has called them, left messages, and they do NOT call back within 24 hours. I have called them several times as well and NO ANSWER. My fiance has had his kidney stone for over 2 weeks now. We will be getting a referral for somewhere else as we need this taken care of ASAP. Obviously they do not care much for their patients as much as they show the first time.

Excellent services and most professional Urologist I have been to in 15 years. Dr. Roscoe Nelson goes beyond the "normal" checks ... he really tries to investigate any "other than normal" possibilities. He examines and treats the patient as though he were checking for himself. Deserves 10 stars! PLUS: I was scheduled to have surgery & office called to re-schedule. The very next day I was healed by the Lord Jesus and did NOT need the surgery. What a MIRACLE. Perfect outcome: did NOT need surgery plus saved me co-insurance money. God is good ... all the time!

Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Dr. Nelson is thorough, and clearly explains all that is going on as he treats me. He listens to what I have to say. He is a smart doctor, and cares about my well-being. My only concern is the automated system when I call in, stating that my call will be returned within 24 to 48 hours. On two occasions I have gone to the office personally rather than wait that amount of time to have my issue addressed.

I'm not a patient but a loved one of mine is , im just here to say this office is AWFUL. I work in a specialist office myself and this is not how things should be ran. They do not return phone calls EVER!! No one answers the phone EVER. Messages aren't returned, even by management. And serious issues are ignored for long enough to put someone in serious health danger! I only know this because my friend has now been hospitalized several times due to lack of care and commitment by this office. We will be going elsewhere. This office is NOT recommended.

As a physician I can honestly say Dr Nelson and his staff were exceptional in every area of my healthcare experience. I was made to feel comfortable for what I considered an uncomfortable procedure. I was able to take medication prior to my vasectomy procedure which really helped me relax. I know other urologists don't and I think it made all the difference. The staff was great at calling me regarding my follow up lab results. I can't say enough positive things.

Dr. Nelson has dramatically improved the quality of my life. He's the best. In my mid sixties I have had BPH and an ever increasing PSA score which ultimately reached 11+. My previous urologist in Florida considered the only approach to be one biopsy after another and dire warnings about my future. After moving to AZ and meeting Dr Nelson I had near immediate relief from the "urge to go" and after one year my PSA is now 4.1. This was done with a combination of two modern drugs with which I have had no negative side effects. Dr Nelson is very sincere, professional and easy to talk to. He's on top of the latest research and when you leave his office you will understand your condition and your treatment completely. No questions are unanswered. I also have to comment on his office staff. Very friendly and efficient. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen.

I have many urological issues and not even at the hospital doctors were able to detect what was wrong with me until I visited Dr. Nelson. Even though at the beginning he couldn't find the problem he always believed me and listened to my symptoms, he never discharged me and he pursuit looking for the problem and he finally did. Let me start by saying I seriously do not think you could find a better urologist than Dr. Nelson. I'm not easy to please, when it comes to doctors, and have told several of my friends that he is my favorite. I had back and leg pain, an MRI detected a tangerine size mass on my right kidney. The kidney had to go.....and was successfully removed by Dr. Nelson with subsequent follow-ups. He has also helped me tremendously with way too frequent bathroom trips to urinate in the night.
