I had problems with their billing my copay from the start (that killed it right there. But, I'm here now so...) Then the doctor starts off by controverting the 40+ years of knowledge which I have garnered of my own body. ( This was the harbinger of all further foolishness.) Dr. Brittney Laughlin only seemed to have heard the opportunity to profit from my pain. The good doctor tried to convince me that constipation causes this feeling of upper and lower pelvic fullness, moderate upper abdominal pain, lower abdominal pain and pressure, extremely heavy menstrual bleeding, thick uterine lining, and swollen uterus. "Oh, no? Then it's caused by uterine prolapse. Or whatever. Here, take these IBS medication samples so that I can get paid for pushing them. Oh, and by the way I am a robotic surgeon and can take that uterus out of there ($$$CHA-CHING!) and cervix( $$$) and those fallopian tubes because now "THEY'" are saying that ovarian cancer starts there and we want to lower your risk ( Impressed yet? CHA-CHING!) BUT, we will leave your ovaries because they are healthy and necessary. (Because Surely this 40+ year-old fat, black mother of seven is ignorant of how the female reproductive system works. *insert eye-roll*) NEXT!
