Went here for years, the staff and the physicians are all excellent.

Absolutely horrible. 2 hours in the waiting room+45 min in the room waiting on a dr. We watched 100’s of people come and go as we sat in the waiting room with our newborn. This definitely shows that they overbook appointments. Finally we got a room and when we walked in, there was a 16 (or so) year old sitting on the bed. We had to wait in the hallway until we found a nurse who gave us our real room number. The place is a mad house, and is Super dirty aka: dried blood spots on the bed in the room. When my baby peed on the bed the nurse just changed the paper she didn’t even wipe the bed off under the paper. We go to purohit pediatrics at grand view now, and it’s literally the complete opposite of this circus. Vestavia pediatrics needs a deep clean and a renovation.

Was looking for a new pediatrician. This place's exam rooms are like janitorial closets. It's filthy, the nurses are rude and Dr. Stone is just another doctor interested in doing unnecessary bloodwork to gain income. I'm NOT going to give blood from my baby to help pay your salary.

My mother used Vestavia Pediatrics when I was a child, we used Dr. Smith, he was wonderful. I would have given 6 stars back then. However, Dr. Smith is retired, but I still wanted to take my son there. The building looks just like it did back in the 80's, it is filthy, and EVERYONE is rude. From the time I walked in the door with the receptionist, to Dr. Crum, we were so disappointed. Dr. Crum flew through our appointment like she was late getting somewhere, she wouldn't let us ask any questions, and when we did ask a question she was very dismissive. The reason we picked her was because Dr. Smith supposedly picked and trained her, but she is NOTHING like Dr. Smith. Absolutely no beside manner and her personality really put me off. You want someone to make you think they care about your child, well she does not. I forgot to ask a question and stuck my head out in the hall to ask her back in and she held up her finger and said "one minute", then only stuck her head in the door while I asked my question, she had to reluctantly actually look at my child! Wow! Then when I was trying to pay my co-pay, the receptionist stayed on the phone for 10 minutes while I stood there as my son was screaming (we had just gotten 2 month shots), only to knock on the glass and point to the other window that says "check-in only", like I was supposed to know that I could go to the check-in window to check out! I couldn't have switched pediatricians faster. BYE Vestavia!

By far would NOT recommend their services to anyone! I took my child in for ringworms and Dr. Simpson proceeded to Google a picture of ringworms; he did not want to listen to anything I had to say (never have). As far as I'm concerned he never cared about my son...all he is concerned about is receiving a check from claims being processed. He then stated that prescribing my child oral medication for treating his condition was malpractice...MISDIAGNOSING patients is malpractice!!!! The same day I took him to see another physician and they stated that he had a case of ringworms that spread. He was ALSO prescribed oral medication...followed by that, he saw a specialist and was diagnosed with the same condition. When I called the practice manager, she stated that she would get back with me and never did. After three business days, she would tell the clerks that she was "too busy" to speak with me. Maybe if I was a white parent it would have been different??? Also the same day of his visit, since I was upset, I requested to pull my son's medical record from the facility. I found it funny that they placed it in the mail when clearly I sent my husband in to pick it up...that's a HIPAA violation!!!! They could call me back to back to let me know that my child's record was ready for pick up, but your practice manager didn't have the decency to touch bases with me. Poor customer service!!!!

we are happy with vestavia pediatrics and Dr. Hamm is the best..

Our boys' primary doctor is Dr. Hardwick, but the ENTIRE team is phenomenal. Dr. Crum visited me at Brookwood with my second born, and we have taken the boys to Dr. Simpson and Dr. Stone when their primary doctor was not in the sick clinic. Nurses are swift to reply if called and doctors are very supportive of each family's decisions. The office is currently going under renovations and looks fantastic!

Lindsey Herron

Doctors are friendly and easy to talk to. Front desk staff is very helpful, and nurses are great.

It’s quality is falling in the recent past. Time Management is completely broken. Waiting time is horribly long. I had appointment at 3:45. Now 5:00. Dr did not showed up himself yet. And this is happening often these days.

You wait an hour in the waiting room, and then another 30-45 minutes once you get in a room. It’s always this way. They over schedule and take more patients than they can handle. If you are that busy then higher more doctors, nurses, or do whatever to nake it more convenient. We all have things to do, 2 hours for a freaking visit? Ridiculous.

Amazing Doctors and helpful and caring staff.

If your going to see anyone here let it be Dr. Hardwick. Dr. Crum made me feel uncomfortable. And Dr. Hamm is okay too but the best is Dr.Hardwick. Thank god for him!

Robert Evans

We like the personable approach of the staff and doctors. We wish the wait was a little shorter.

It was an awesome visit. Dr. Simpson list to my concerns and made us feel very comfortable with the plan he made for my son. I would recommend him to anyone who asks for a pediatrician!!!!

This is the best clinic for children. The clinic has two entrances: a “well clinic” and a “sick clinic.” Therefore, if your child is there for a well checkup, he/she will not be exposed to sitting in a room full of sick children coughing and sneezing. I never have a long wait and the doctors here are so knowledgeable, thoughtful, and caring! There are so many pediatricians here, you will eventually choose a favorite! I have seen Dr. Hardwick, Dr. Hamm and Dr. Simpson; and I have been pleased with these pediatricians.

I just hope I’ll be able to take my kid at least once before John retires. I went to him since I was a baby and I’d be honored for him to see my son when he’s born. Would highly recommend John Simpson.

The doctors here are awesome! Doctor Crum is the BEST!!

My daughter had a 105 temp and we sat in the waiting room For 2 hours then saw Dr Simpson. he had us out the door with only a throat swab and no diagnosis in 15 minutes. He hardly looked at her and did no other testing. It has been a week and my daughter is still sick- I took her somewhere else. Our normal dr was not there at this time.

If you are in the market for a pediatrician for a newborn or just making a switch, I highly recommend #Vestaviapediatrics! Fantastic physicians and staff that have sincere compassion for their vocation, something becoming rare in the medical field! I especially love Dr. Simpson, father of four and pediatric superstar and Lindsay his wonderfully sweet nurse. No matter how many stupid questions I ask, how many calls I miss, how sassy I get, they remain calm and ready to handle all healthcare needs of my dear sons. I just have one that is still a patient, my oldest graduated to a physician for young men. We have been with this practice for about 12 years. The parking is convenient and plentiful, it's easy to find, clean, and I've never had any problems with billing or school forms. The back-office is very accommodating and efficient. I feel blessed to have gotten in! We also love Dr Hamm. It's a large practice with a small practice feel. Oh, and they have weekend hours which is a big plus for working parents!
