Took a while to get an appointment but everything about the appointment was great! Arrived early was taken back almost immediately. In and out before my appointment time! The last dermatologist I saw wouldn’t do a whole body check because I hadn’t scheduled that and wouldn’t remove a mole that was bothering me. I was so happy they offered the whole body check and were able to biopsy a couple spots in the same visit. Great office and great patient care.

I got a call about 1:30 that they wanted me to come in ASAP and after an exam Dr Rivera suggested that he could do my surgery in approximately 30 minutes. I found the online appointment process to be user friendly and seamless. The automated appointment notification/reminder and confirmation process via text messaging was timely and most convenient. Upon my arrival on the day and time of my appointment, I was greeted and checked-in in a timely manner. I was called back for my appointment on time as was scheduled. The exam was thorough. The results were explained completely and written counseling on proper procedures and precautions were provided. All my questions and concerns were addressed. The proficiency, professionalism, expertise and quality of services provided were exceptional. Best ever experience at a medical facility.

They were very efficient and fast. I was in and out in a half hour. I met with a female NP and she did not mess around. All business. She even had to biopsy a mark on my arm. With in a minute of spotting it and asking if she could biopsy it... The area was numbed, the mark was shaved off and a bandaid was in place. I was very impressed.

Very impressed with my New Patient appointment experience. I needed help accessing my online paperwork portal and when I called they were very patient and helpful. I was seen by Rachel Damon and she is extremely thorough. Not only did she explain herself multiple times, she made sure I left with detailed papers covering everything we discussed in my appointment. I was unable to make a follow-up appointment when I left due to them being booked out so far and I was told I would be called when an appointment opened up. Other than the scheduling process not being ideal (initial appointment 2.5 months in advance - and I know this is common for dermatologists), I would definitely recommend Southeastern and Rachel Damon.

In January of this year I tried to make an appointment and was forwarded to fill out a request online. Did that, never received a call from a person in the office, instead about a week and a half later, I received an email with an appointment date and time for a day in June (6 months later). I had to go out of town for work for an extended period of time and when I got back to town, realized that the appointment was a day I had a vacation scheduled. Called today to reschedule and the next available appointment wasn't until the end of OCTOBER! The process for making an appointment for a new patient is not personal at all, and the time it takes to actually get in to see a doctor is outrageous. I was hopeful to receive treatment from this establishment, but I will take my worries elsewhere where I can actually be seen within a decent amount of time.

I love this place! They don’t double book appointments and the wait time is short! No more 30 minutes to 1 hour of waiting to get in the exam room. The wait time in the exam room is short also, less than 15 minutes. You also have the choice of seeing the doctor or the PA. The reception desk staff is friendly as is the rest of the staff. They also offer several dermatological skin care lines. I spend more time driving than I do in the office. I highly recommend this group!

Very well organized practice. This was my 3rd visit and each one was the same. Very professional staff, most expeditious treatment. I arrived 15 minutes early and was finished about 5 minutes after my originally scheduled apppintment time! One down side - the exam rooms are COLD!

After going there, I see why people are actually actually willing to do a review. Outstanding customer service and they are extremely knowledgeable. With being a poplar dermatologist, they have appointment times months away but they are always looking at cancellations to bring you in earlier. I highly recommend.

Very professional. They found 3 areas of skin cancer, that the dermatologist off Hughes road said was nothing. They also said 6 moles were fine that he told me needed to come off. Since I've had precancerous moles in the past, I knew he was an idiot!! I'm so thankful I decided to wait to see them. It does take awhile to get in as a patient, but worth the wait for me!!!

I highly recommend Skin Cancer and Dermatology. I was exhausted from trying to find a provider that would help me with an extremely scary ordeal I was having. I sought out SSCD and they showed compassion and understanding to my situation. I was scheduled the soonest availability and the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff are absolutely wonderful and above all caring. I had 3 biopsies and never felt a thing . My doctor and nurse were wonderful, caring, and showed concern for my issue and they both were happy to answer any questions I had.

Dr Rivera and Physician Assistants are very thorough! Dr Rivera did a great job on the Mohs surgery for the skin cancer on my wife’s face! We appreciate them very much! The receptionists are nice, as well. The only issue we have had was insurance/billing. Just make sure if your insurance involves a referral that it is done prior to the visit and that it is for the Dr/PA that you will be seeing.

I'm just sharing my experience with scheduling. I haven't seen a Dr. My experience with setting an appointment has been so awful I had to leave a review to warn others. They don't answer the phones so don't even bother calling. You get a message to leave a message if you are an existing patient or to go online for new patients. I went to their website and filled out the information to book an appointment. No phone call no email no nothing. After several months I finally went back on their site and filled out the form again. A couple of weeks later still no call no message. Finally after three weeks I cleared out my junk email and I found an email from this practice. All it said was my appointment is at this date and time and that I would see a nurse practitioner. Now keep in mind I had no say in the time or date. So if you work or have any vacations planned good luck. Also the appointment date was scheduled about 7 months later which seems like a excessively long wait period. Overall I am disappointed with how difficult the process is. It's close to where I live and I like the services that they offer. Plus their patients seem happy but I am not sure this hassle is worth it. I may just make an appointment with a dermatologist in Birmingham instead. They really need a different system or they should just say they are no longer accepting new patients.

I know the wait to initially get in is a longer process than most places, but when it comes to your skin the wait is worth it. Plus, you can call every morning between 8 & 9 and see if they have cancellations. My initial appt was Nov 20th and they got me an appt in Sept so please don't let the wait time defer you from making an appt here. The staff was very knowledgeable and I really liked the P.A. Lindsay Hayler. They were quick and yet I left with no questions because she was thorough. I have already recommended to friends and family members.

I started annual appointments with Dr. Lindsay Hayler three years ago and have been very pleased. She very quickly diagnoses and treats in the same visit, immediately removing questionable skin problems. Never cuts unless necessary and never generates unnecessary follow ups. I’ve never been kept waiting more than 20 minutes.

I have been to SSCD twice now and I am very pleased with my experiences. The doctor who will be my “primary” is out on maternity leave so I have seen two doctors and their nurses. I really liked everyone, they all devoted a lot of time to me and I never felt rushed or like I was asking a stupid question. They communicate very well with the patient and do their best to understand their needs and provide solutions and answers in a way that is understandable. They also are very comforting and don’t make you feel like the issue you are having is freaky or uncommon (in my case anyway, my issues are very common ones). I highly recommend the office and am confident in their staff.

Worst experience dealing with a doctors office ever. Definitely do not recommend this place. They couldn't help me, which was fine. The problem was they were supposed to provide a referral to someone more qualified. After several calls...I have spoken to Shannon, Amanda, Amber, and the office manager, and it has been over 3 weeks, still no referral! All of the above assured me they would contact me with the referral, unfortunately, they have not even after multiple calls from me. They quickly collected $101 for the consult which was pointless. 5 minutes so they could tell me they weren't qualified to help. I never even got to see the Dr. Instead, they took pictures to show him. I don't like leaving bad reviews, I just cannot believe the way they have treated me and hope this review helps someone else avoid them. I recommend Dr. Mallette in Athens. The treatment I received there is like night and day compared to this place. Turns out the referral I was going to receive from here would have been pointless anyways. They wanted to refer me to Dr. Mcclain on Cecil Ashburn Dr., whom I called directly and explained my situation. After less than 5 minutes on the phone and a brief description of the issue, Dr. Mcclain's office was able to quickly tell me that they would have to refer me to an ear, nose, throat specialist. If I had not called myself, I would have wasted more money and time on unnecessary consultations. Dr. Mallette didnt waste my time at all. He provided a referral to an ENT on the first try and within 2 days. So disappointed that Southeastern Skin Cancer and Dermatology were actually going to refer me to someone who couldn't assist me too. Huge runaround, they clearly just didn't want to deal with me. It is all about the money, not the patient. How in the world they have so many positive reviews blows my mind. I certainly did not have a 5 star experience as I hoped I would.

Due to the lack of dermatologists in the city, it is very hard to get an appointment anywhere. Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology will add your name to a wait list and call/email with vacancies. It worked for me and they were great.

Disappointed in our attempted follow up office visit this morning. We were running a little late, our appt was at 9:20, we arrived at 9:30, there were literally 2 people in the lobby, the blonde receptionist told us she would be with us in a minute. Keep in mind we are 2 days after Christmas Holiday the office was not busy, as we have been in when you could hardly find a seat to sit in. When she called me to the desk, she informed me they had a 15 minute late policy and we would have to reschedule, WE WERE NOT 15 MINUTES LATE! What we really wanted to accomplish with this visit was to show the Doctor how the treatment had worked. We had tried many different painful treatments in office over many months and nothing worked. We were prescribed a compound RX from a company out of Iowa as a last resort and over several months finally got some positive results. Only the Doctor will never be able to see because the clock police thought today would be a good time to enforce a policy that she didn't even get right! 15 minutes is 15 minutes not 12 not 13. No need to reschedule we won't be back! I will also let my coworker who just had a new patient visit know what happened today and the rest of my family and friends. *Our visit would have taken 5 minutes just to show our results so maybe someone else could benefit from the same treatment sooner rather going through multiple treatments in office.

I scheduled my appointment several months back. They seem to have a long wait to get an appointment. They did take me back fast on my appointment day. I saw a physician's assistant. I was told the esthetician would be contacting me to schedule a microneedling session, but no one ever contacted me. I waited a week. Microneedling was $750 for 3 sessions.
