Dr. Cowan is great doctor! She has helped me to understand women's health and hormones far greater than I had ever imagined. She gave me a new leash on life after feeling like "blah" for so long. Hormones, I tell ya! Having seen Santana was not my best experience however it does not take away from Dr. Cowan's level of expertise. I have referred a few friends and Dr. Cowan was able to detect and remedy their issues with ease and comfort. It's a great feeling when you feel like you can trust a physician. Some of the office personnel can do much better as it relates to referrals and follow-ups. I'm still waiting for my yearly mammogram appt from 3 months ago. I called to inquire, resolved the issue as best I could and I still have yet to receive the appt. This isnt my first time going through this with them. I pray they fix it soon.

My wife was never seen by Dr.Cowen. Lpn gave her Incorrect info which directly linked to her welfare and health. Absolutely, horrible experience!! Staff was rude and didn’t listen to anything she has to say about her symptoms..

I rarely write reviews but Dr. Mia is really the best at what she does! I was struggling with hormonal imbalance & didn’t know what was going on with me. She LISTENED to my concerns & let me know that I wasn’t alone because many women are suffering with similar symptoms. We came up with a treatment plan that is working beautifully. She’s passionate about her work & truly cares about her patients! Her staff is efficient & thorough. Go see them!

WORST MEDICAL STAFF I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. DR. COWAN TOLD ME ONE THING AND THEN WHEN IT CAME TIME TO SCHEDULE A MY SURGERY EVERYTHING CHANGED. THEY CANCELLED MY SURGERY FOR WEATHER, BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY UNCALL FOR, THEN WHEN TRYING TO RESCHEDULE THEY WAS GOING TO GIVE ME LESS THAN A 24 HOUR NOTICE. ANY TIME I TRIED TO CALL I ALWAYS GOT THE ANSWERING SERVICE EVEN WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY. DR. COWAN SEEMED GREAT THE ONE TIME I GOT TO SEE HER BUT DEALING WITH HER STAFF IS TERRIBLE.

I had a yearly completed by the nurse practitioner and it was the worst experience I have ever had. I was in pain for the entire day following the visit. I am accustomed to having at least 2 persons in the room during a pap, however, the nurse practitioner was in the room alone. If you are extremely private like me, you will not like the setup as the 2nd lobby is directly outside of the exam room. I felt as if the entire lobby was in the room with me every time the door opened. This was the 280 office, but I was informed that the office was in the process of moving soon. Hopefully these things have/ will be addressad in the move.

Dr. Cowan is great! She has performed procedures for me in the past, and she’s very easy to talk to. She took the time to properly give me the best contraceptive advice based off my needs and health. The only concern I have is lengthy wait times when you have a scheduled appointment. The young woman at the desk explained that I should allow for 1hr 45mins each visit from check in each time. Not thrilled about having to take a half day off work for a Drs appointment, but now I know. Had a couple of issues with incorrect information from an LNP, but the Dr. handled and corrected the misinformation. Overall, I’ll continue doing business and supporting Dr. C, because she knows what’ she’s doing, and she’s worth it.

May God have mercy on your soul if you are one of the last appointments of the day because this office will not. Youll be dismissed by the condescending NP who will probably report to the doctor that nothing is wrong with you hence why she will spend 2 seconds with you. RUN AWAY

It is very rare that I leave a review. I was a little nervous going in because it was my first visit and I found this place online so I had no idea what to expect. The lady that triaged me and the nurse practitioner that examined me were the friendliest people I have ever encountered in a healthcare setting. They definitely made me want to come back again. It really makes a difference in a person's visit when you encounter such warm people. Very clean facility with an organized flow.

The staff is so heart warming here, everyone is knowledgeable about their job, and even under staffed on my visit they were very proficient. I had my very first visit today and I am very pleased. I have been going to a male GYN for years and ended up having a radical hysterectomy in 2008 due to cervical cancer, so I was thrown into menopause. I have been on a hormone ever since (for almost 11 years now), but recently it doesn't seem to help and I'm having hot flashes, I'm moody, can't sleep and irritable. I decided it was time to talk to a female and decided on MiBella after reading the reviews. Dr. Cowan is very kind and took the time to answer all of my questions, and most importantly she lifted my spirits by giving me HOPE!! I go back next week to review my blood work results and am looking forward to starting my treatment. Also, each staff member I had contact with was very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend!

Amazing doctor but office is horribly managed. Have to fight tooth and nails to get scripts called in every single time. Would not even respond to pharmacy requests and have zero sense urgency for daily medications.

When my Obgyn moved out of Birmingham I was referred to Dr. Cowan by a friend of a friend. I needed a Dr. to spend some time with me and help get me well. Dr. Cowan exceeded my expectations. She developed a plan on my first visit, and planned an outpatient procedure to remove a uterine fibroid. She went right to the problem and fixed it. She gave me back my life, and I absolutely love her! I highly recommend Dr. Cowan and her office. Her office staff returned every call and answered every crazy question I had. They are the sweetest. I love Dr. Cowan as a doctor, especially bedside manner. The staff, communications standards, and availability of the office, however, is abhorrent. I've been a patient for over 4 years, but after repeated extremely disappointing and inconsiderate treatment by staff and difficulty reaching the office or getting calls back, I've moved my healthcare elsewhere. 12 - 1:15 every day is completely unavailable with no answering service, and there are abbreviated hours Thursday and Friday. I've repeatedly been told I have to see Dr. Cowan for specific services, made an appointment, paid my copay and spent hours off work only to be passed off on someone else in the office for specific tests I was told would not be performed. Disappointing. Management overhaul needed.

I am giving Dr. Cowan five stars because she is intelligent and compassionate. She has a straight forward, get it done attitude and listens to what I have to say. On a down note however, I am not as happy with a few of her staff members. I understand that when hiring people it can be hard to find the jewels out there so I do not hold it against Dr. Cowan herself. And I do feel confident that she recognizes those few people and takes action to improve things. When you get to know her you will see, she has a drive to excel.
