NOT A MEDICAL DERMATOLOGIST, A COSMETIC DERMATOLOGIST! DO NOT RECOMMEND! A friend recommended Dr. Julie Harper because I was seeking a dermatologist knowledgeable in adult acne. The first visit was great, the nursing staff was friendly and Dr. Harper took her time with me. She decided to start me on a 6th month treatment of accutane. Every month I have a "check up" and blood work done. NOT once has Dr. Harper spent more than 3 MINUTES in the room during my "check up". In fact, when I asked her to check a mole that I felt had discoloration, she blew it off and replied, "You will be visiting me a lot, I will check it later". What if the mole is cancerous? I STILL do not know, three months later. Her staff is not very friendlly. It is almost impossible to reach the office by phone - THEY RARELY ANSWER and almost NEVER return messages. The majority of the people you see going in and out of her office are wealthy, white women, dripping in diamonds, stopping in for their weekly botox treatment. In fact, Dr. Harper has "Botox Tuesdays". This is not medicine, but a money making scam. Dr. Harper is too busy spending time treating patients with lasers, needles, and cream to make them look younger than to focus on the pertinent medical issues. THUMBS DOWN! Oh, and be prepared to wait AT LEAST 30 MINUTES TO ONE HOUR in the waiting room, but I'm sure you aren't surprised after reading about her poor customer service and lousy patient treatment.
