I was a patient of Dr Nix for years, and he is no longer in business... Anyway my GP made me an appointment with the clinic for women (910 Adams St) The clinic for women would not take me as a patient, I have Medicare and Medicaid. I have a history of bad paps, a leap and endometrial ablation, they said sorry cant see you. And there is NO GYN in the huntsville Al area that will take my insurance. These people clearly do NOT care what so ever about people.

Love the CFW! This place is truly the best. The girl who answers the phone Samantha goes above and beyond to help you and make your scheduling for appointments a breeze. They deserve 10 stars and will always have my business.

If I could give more stars I would. Dr. Shumaker is the kindest, most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever encountered. Throughout my entire pregnancy, she was on top of everything, was super proactive and helped me so so much. I didn't feel as "clueless" when talking to her, she was thorough when answering any and all questions or concerns I had. Not only does she care about the baby, but the mom too! She stayed with me the whole time I was in labor, delivered our beautiful baby girl and was in close contact with me the rest of my stay in the hospital as well as when I was discharged and went home. Her and her staff are absolutely outstanding and I highly, highly recommend her and will recommend her as long as she is in practice!

Dr. Rushing is a superior, caring Surgeon who was the only Dr. I trusted with a very painful endometriosis and not being able to bear a child. Grateful that he has the compassion for women who are suffering with this horrible disease!

My very first visit they were going to turn me away because I was 3 minutes late. I explained that it was my first time there and I had trouble finding their location. Was told that Dr. Schumaker "ran a tight ship" and I needed to reschedule. I called at my exact appt time to let them know I was parking and that message was never relayed to the nurse. Dr. Schumaker saw me anyway and seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. I had questions she was going to check into because she didnt have the answers and would call me. No one ever called. Will not go back.

This Pavilion sits on the southeastern edge of the downtown historic African-American community, circa -post WW1 to mid 70s. For 18 years I lived in a home on this location, addressed, 908. The property belonged to Tom Sullivan, {my paternal grandmother's brother-in-law,] who lived next door in 906. All 4 of my siblings were born in 908.. One died during the January winter of 1960. The Women's Pavilion is aptly name because the women of my family-extended, the African American women who lived on this street and in the neighborhood were strong and proud human beings. They stood beside our fathers and raised us to be respectful, loving and caring people. It is unfortunate that there is not a plaque standing near this location to document the beauty and richness of a former community that lives mostly in memories. A few trees, probably pecan and/or maple, across the street, remain. I am grateful that 910 Adams exist and there is still a "last 'house' on the right" which was how we directed anyone coming south along Adams to 908.

Don't waste your time! You will stay on hold FOREVER trying to make an appointment. It will take months to get an appointment. Then, they will call you and CANCEL your appointment before you are schedule to arrive. They won't allow you to see another doctor in their office so guess what?..... You get to start the process all over. If you value your time, look for another doctor's office!

Dr. Schumaker and her team are absolutely amazing! They addressed my concerns with grace and made me feel very comfortable. Everyone was extremely friendly and my wait time was almost nonexistent. I would highly recommend Dr. Schumaker!!

This place sucks especially for the women that are given birth to their baby!!!! Her not being able to have her immediate family with her is just plain ridiculous!!!! 3 people policy only in the room is stupid. We all can't be with our daughter having our grandbaby nor her sisters of adult ages. Then you have some little security guard thinking he's Mr. Badass being a huge Jerk to everybody just because he has a vest on & a mag light. Plus the nurses are very rude to the visitors. If you're having a baby we recommend you don't come here.

I would give zero stars if I could. Possibly the rudest doctor's office I've ever dealt with, they don't know what I'm talking about when I call to talk about labs that THEY ordered for me. They herd you in and out like cattle. You are nothing but a number at this place. The doctor I had previously was a great doctor but he left the practice. His nurse was rude and hateful though. So I switched to another doctor within the practice, same exact issue with the nurse. I had another doctor from there, Dr. Loncar, to release me from the hospital when I had my son and she was the rudest doctor I have ever encountered. Just all around a horrible 10+ years of dealing with this place.

So we decided to transfer our care for pregnancy to this office because they were recommended by several people, so I called and was told they needed my records and then would review them and call me for an appointment, so almost 2 weeks after verifying they received the records, they still had not called to let me know anything, I called on Friday and was told we don’t have records and this is after I was told the week before they had them, and they would check with a nurse and call back that day and guess what... no call, so on the following Monday I called and asked what the status was, at this time I’m told I’m accepted and that I owe money, well here comes the worst EXPERIENCE with this office yet, I called and spoke with billing, Chanda or Shanda or however you spell her name and was told they verified coverage and we have an hra plan so we had money in our hra account but if I couldn’t get the money from that account now I would have to pay out of pocket even tho my insurance company plainly told me you have money to cover these expenses but a claim has to be submitted first and I tried explaining this and basically was asked well is it a guarantee that money will be there at the first of the year bc and this is exactly how this was put, we have had people in the past get their baby in hand and services are done and the doctor doesn’t get paid and I hate the situation but I hate it more for the doctor not to get paid, we have no issues with a doctor getting paid for services but our insurance plainly would have covered this from our hra account, but that wasn’t good enough, I was then told by Shanda that I’m going home now so I’ll handle this tomorrow and by handle she told us I’m going to to talk to Dr Rushing and I will also call the insurance and if the insurance guarantees the expenses will be paid then that’s fine, so at 4:55 this evening we finally get a call back and told I know you have been waiting on a response and we are going to stand by the policy of the office and you owe this amount by your first visit bc it’s out of pocket but the kicker is it’s not true out of pocket bc our insurance is an hra plan that is designed to cover the expenses so no I will not pay you up front for something my insurance covers, and when I questioned her on if she actually called the insurance company like she said she says no I did not bc we are going to follow policy.......so we have decided this clinic is the absolute worst clinic to deal with and we made the decision to get care elsewhere that actually cares for the patient and the well being of an unborn child, I explained they made me wait two weeks and I still would not have known any of this had I not kept calling to tell me this and I’m high risk for preterm labor, and shanda proceeds to tell us we have been waiting on records and that was completely untrue bc I verified they received them when they were sent 2 weeks prior so that was a bunch of bull they tried to feed us for handling the situation they did, she also said it was noted I was made aware about the amount due before talking to her and that was also untrue bc I didn’t know until I called 2 weeks later asking what was going on, she in particular was very condescending and had a total lack of care! I can’t say much for Dr Rushing because we never got to meet him due to all of this, but I will say this clinic needs to get their act together and be more compassionate and definitely do not give a patient the run around when they are pregnant and and at risk for preterm labor!!! I will not recommend them to anyone and I will tell this experience to anyone considering them that had the type of insurance we do!

They have been ok in my limited experience so far, except that my appointment didn't make it into the books and now I have to wait another month to start trying for kids. Devastated to say the least.

Dr Shumaker gets the star. Her staff are rude and unpleasant to deal with. Waited for over an hour, when I questioned the long wait I was belittled by receptionist and then again by the hateful nurse.

They were the only place I found that would take self pay, and they worked me in within a week of my hospital visit, Dr Rushing and his staff were all very nice and worked quickly. I had to have alot of stuff done and even though I was here 2 hours, it was alot faster then other places.
