In childhood 50 years ago, I acquired a fear of the dentist due to some extractions that were badly performed (plus, I have a small mouth that makes me harder to work on). So, when I discovered I needed two crowns, I was considering sedation. I've been going to Govani Dental for several years, having known Dr. Govani since her college days and knowing first-hand about her integrity, so I decided to give it a go without medication. My first crown put me on Dr. Childs' schedule and it was, I'm happy to say, NO BIG DEAL! His gentle hands and demeanor, plus clear explanations by himself and the staff, were a part of what feels like a huge emotional adjustment in my life toward dental care. A relief! Also, they had just acquired some amazing new technology that imaged my mouth in 3D, so I got a "dentist's eye" picture of my mouth for the first time in my life. It was really impressive. High tech AND a family atmosphere.

When my family dentist of over 40 years retired his practice, uncertainty and panic tend to follow. Who is good, nice, but knows what they're doing? As patients, we were given a recommendation, but you still ask friends, co-workers,etc. Govani Dental was our retired dentists recommendation , as well as other current patients. Not only I, but my parents and brother's family now have become patients. The staff welcomed all of us with open arms. I was amazed at how nice everyone was. The new technology and thorough exams. They also offer pet therapy and other ways to calm your anxiety. I suffer from periodontal disease and they have educated me and worked on my bone loss, gum tissue, etc., to help maintain and slow down the disease and damage. Before going to Govani Dental, I suffered with the effects of years of clenching my jaw. I never told my other dentist, but by the time I joined Govani, I was suffering from headaches, neck pain, and lack of jaw movement. Dr. Shaheda fit me with a mouth guard that I wear at night and sometimes at work. After two years, I can complete a dental exam w/o a headache and pain in my jaw. The staff checks for wear and cleans the mouth guard every 3 months. I and my family have been very happy with Govani Dental. I have recommended them to friends and coworkers. Dr. Shaheda, Dr. Childs, and staff have become friends to all of us. --Meg Reichenberger

I've found Dr. Govani and all her staff to be extremely impressive. Everyone there is friendly, professional, and highly-skilled. Dr. Govani and my hygenist motivated me to floss more regularly, and I'm proud to report that I've been flossing for 956 consecutive nights! I have never felt this good about my dental hygeine, nor as confident in a dentist. I moved to Milwaukee but stayed with Govani Dental because of the excellent quality of care that I consistently receive from everyone there. Highly recommended.

This dental office works as complete team! The office staff is always kind,helpful,and cares about your needs as a dental patient. The dentist help each other making the visit run smoothly and giving you the best of two dentist should need be. The staff that work with Dr .Govani,and Dr Child's, are always well kept ,polite, skilled and well educated in the latest technology giving the patient the best cleanings and help during a dental procedure. I'm a person who has had enormous amounts of dental work in the past and continue needing it today in this clinic I came to three years ago and the work is top notch and I'm so satisfied I hope I never have to go elsewhere.

My husband is graduating from Marquette Dental School this year, and Dr. Govani has been so helpful for him over the past four years. As his mentor, she is always willing to take the time to help him with anything he is struggling with. Dr. Govani is very knowledgeable about dentistry and gives her mentees tips and tricks in an encouraging, non-condescending way. I told them that I needed to reschedule because I was going to be out of town. I was told that they only had one day that I could. I said I couldn’t make it and was told by the receptionist that I don’t have a choice and was required to go. Everyone else however was polite and did good work.

We loving going to the dentist! Years ago you would have never heard that coming out of my mouth! The staff here are great and so caring towards their patients. They always explain what they are doing and ask if you have questions. Kelly does an amazing job with making sure you understand the billing portion as well!

I brought my 4 year old to Govani Dental for a second opinion after I noticed a suspicious spot on his molar while I was brushing his teeth. He had just been to the pediatric dentist 6 weeks prior for his 6 month exam and first set of xrays; he was given a clean bill of health. Dr. Govani retook the xrays, as the previous ones were undiagnostic, and she found a total of 5 cavities. I am a dental hygienist, but she still took the time to review risk factors and answer any questions I had. I am thankful for Dr. Govani’s thoroughness and attention to detail. My son enjoyed his first visit there and is excited to come back and get his “teeth fixed.” I will be transferring all of my family’s care to Govani Dental.
