Just got a text prompting me to leave a review here, after calling to complain so...I’ve gone here a while, always a great dentist and atmosphere. My go-to hygienist left to practice elsewhere and today’s experience with someone else was rough. She used an “ultrasonic” machine which didn’t feel too bad at the time and I’ve never had anyone use on me before, but upon leaving the office/not having cold water in my mouth, my gums feel like they have rug burn all over and throb. I’ve never had my mouth feel WORSE after a routine cleaning before. My parents are dentists but practice 8 hours away so going there isn’t an option. I asked them about it and they said for those without significant buildup like me (I go every 6 months, floss every night) it’s done to save time. I was seen 15 min late, so I’d bet that’s case here. They told me (no one else at Downtown gave me a heads up) the pain can last up to 2 days. I’m extremely unhappy and requested to never see that hygienist again, will give it one more shot at this practice and go elsewhere/file a complaint if anything remotely this poorly done happens again. Ask a lot of Qs if they try to use anything “new” on you. I had a lot of trust here due to previous good experiences.

Gone are the days when I hate going to the dentist. Love that you never have to wait, it’s super efficient and everyone is very friendly, receptionists, dentists and dental hygienists. Quality of work and follow up is awesome. I’ve had Invisalign here, an implant, regular fillings and of course normal cleaning.

I had a very frustrating experience with downtown dental. Something they could have totally avoided with some basic customer service. I had gone to downtown dental-River North for a regular dental check up. They suggested some cleaning and asked me to schedule 2 appointments with them, which I did. Later, I rescheduled the appointment to a later date at downtown dental-Loop with a different hygienist. This hygienist was recommended to me by a friend. I waited for almost two months for my appointment since I wanted this hygienist to see me. Since they already had my reports from my earlier visit, I had requested them to review it beforehand. Anyways, two months passed, and I went to the appointment today. The hygienist did not even do anything! She just asked me to book another set of appointments for cleaning. This could have done much earlier and not involved me waiting for almost two months for an appointment! I had to take half a day off at work to make this appointment, and all I get was a suggestion to make another set of appointments. Thanks but no thanks! I’ll take my money elsewhere! I did not get the opportunity to experience their expertise in dentistry, but as far as customer service goes, downtown dental was a terrible experience for me.

Downtown Dental in the Loop is everything a Dentist visit should be. Clean, comfortable, and courteous. As far as their teeth cleaning process, they have always been gentle yet efficient. A bonus; you get a great view of the city. They are even mindful enough to provide protective sunglasses if the direct sun is an issue.

Made a last minute appointment to fix the mouth appliance holding open the space left by a missing tooth with a very realistic false tooth. Since the missing tooth was right next to one of my top front teeth, I was extremely grateful to Downtown Dental and Dr. Carson (not my regular dentist) for having done such a fine job on the retainer late last summer. Only something happened a few days ago to make my mouth apppliance very painful to wear, and I needed it fixed ASAP. Unfortunately, my regular dentist, Dr. Tasio, was once again on vacation. Yet, once again Dr. Carson was available, and once again, he treated me with the kindness and concern I’d expect if I was his long-time patient. Thank you again, Dr. Carson for your care, and for taking the time to discuss dental work in the context of my disability issues. Wonderful overall experience! Dr. Palsis was referred to me by my coworker, and he is by far the best dentist I could ask for. In one day, I had nine crowns done (front teeth), and I couldn't be happier with the results. My teeth are perfectly customized to suit my face, and I can't stop smiling! Had very bad experience here back in 2014 January. Came here for one tooth ache as it was near to my office. Came out of the hospital with 7 teeth taking out on the same day. I don't know what I signed up for because of pain at that moment. Please be careful before they pull your teeth. Go for second opinion. I always regret this part because I am unable to eat food with the right side as there are no teeth left. I need to spend lot of money now to implant the lost teeth. I don't want anyone to go through the same thing I went through. Please take things slowly with them even though they put you on spot.

I have been going to this dentist for around 8-9 years now. I have had the same hygienist, Monica, for the entire time. She’s like an old friend now. The office is clean and they have you in and out quickly. I have had one cavity filled and had two wisdom teeth pulled in the time I’ve been there. Other than that, I have just gone for cleanings every six months. I pay with an HSA and a regular visit is around $170.

Dr. Carson has been extremely informative, precautious, and an active listener. He tries to keep the integrity of your teeth by monitoring cavities instead of performing fillings for minor cavities like most other dentists would. I highly recommend him, you won’t be disappointed! Dr. Kim has been such a light in my recent root canal failures turning in to needing an implant. She is quick and does amazing work! She performed oral surgery on me for an abscess after that area had gotten infected again. She has walked me through every step needed to be taken in procedures, billing, and up front on what can happen with my implant. I appreciate this office and their staff so much!

I've tried other dentists in the city and instantly regretted it. Many of the ones I've tried are either super shady when it comes to billing or they try and sell you services ( or an overpriced mouth guard) that you don't really need. Honestly this office is like a breathe of fresh air. They are thorough, fast, efficient and honest. My only gripe is that since they are so popular, it takes a minute to get in for an appointment (unless it's an emergency). Regardless, I've learned my lesson to book well in advance and will continue to do so.

I've been going here for over 10 years, and the dentists and hygienists are fantastic. Dr. Patel was terrific, and was the first dentist that didn't try and swindle me out of getting an updated crown when my prior dentist said I should replace it, even though it was structurally fine. 9 years later the crown is still fine. They have an incredibly friendly staff, and I'm always impressed that my hygienist remembers me and the conversations we've had about our families, etc. Love this place, and highly recommend it to everyone.

So far I’ve had two fillings and a cleaning. I find the establishment to be quick, professional and efficient without the sticker shock. I appreciate the cleanliness of the office and the friendly courteous staff. I wish they were open on weekends but am okay with taking the latest appointment. Good people but could feel a little impersonal due to its size but I’m hoping that changes as I get to know my Dentist better.

I had a 4:00pm appt for a cleaning and x-rays. I arrived 15 minutes early because it was my first time there and knew that I would need to fill out paperwork. I was taken to the back between 4:10 & 4:15. After my xrays were completed the dentist came in and conducted a brief exam and spoke with me about my teeth. After coming up with a plan, I needed some fillings replaced, he tells me that I will need to come back for my cleaning because they close at 5. He also told me that he didn't want to rush. So..I appreciate that he didn't want to rush but in reality he didn't want to work late. I came in for a cleaning AND xrays and only received half of my service. What a waste of my time. Needless to say I won't be returning for the additional services --- based on their time managenent and scheduling practice it would take 4 visits to get everything completed.

Horrible experience. I had a dental emergency so booked appointment the day prior after calling my insurance. The front office called a few hours before my appointment and demanded I provide x-rays from my former dentist or be charged $75 for new x-rays. When I pushed back stating the dentist should be able see me without x-rays. They refused and said I either needed x-rays or had I had to reschedule. On top of that they threaten to charge me a no show fee if I decided to reschedule! Needless I say if the front office is run this way I question the quality of care.

As a previous patient of Dental Salon and Weller Dental, this is the first dentist I’ve had in Chicago (in 15 years) that is affordable, has almost no wait, and I don’t dread going to. The place is clean, they are quick and thorough with cleanings, and the view from the chair is definitely a plus. I actually started going there when I had to have a root canal and then switched full time thereafter. Highly recommend.
