This dental office is extremely friendly. Everyone introduced themselves by their name, I was given a tour of the office upon arrival. The entire staff was extremely professional. I had a cleaning done, the dental hygienist (Christina) that performed my cleaning was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. When I saw the actual dentist, Tamer, he was very professional. He took his time and explained the problems I was having and took the time to recommend treatment. I did not feel pressured at any time, I told the staff that I was on a budget and they completely understood. I definitely will be going back to have my treatment work done. This was my first time visiting this office and I will say I will be a regular patient with Oakton Family Dentistry. Best dentist office I've ever been to. I haven't gone to the dentist in years so my teeth have issues, so I went for a consultation to fix them. The doctor was so welcoming by actually listening and caring about what I said. He also helped me feel relaxed and knew exactly what he wanted to do. He also understood my preference to not be an adult with braces haha. I don't feel like I'm at a dentists office with doctors, it's like you're going to a friend.

Very clean facility. Extremely friendly and respectable staff. I appreciate that Dr. Scimeca explained what he was going to do and why. My previous dentists just went to work without explaining. The only reason I gave it four stars is because of the cost. I knew it was going to be expensive since I didn't have insurance, but it was a little more expensive then I expected. If you have insurance or money is not a problem, Dr. Scimeca and Oakton Family Dentistry is the place to go in Northern VA.

I’ve been going here since Dr. Scimeca took over the practice. I couldn’t be happier. They always have the latest technology and seem to pay a lot of attention to continued education. I was blown away when they were able to manufacture a tooth piece when one of mine broke. They are also very accommodating to people who are nervous or anxious while at the dentist. They always ask how you are doing and will take as many breaks as needed. Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do, but Oakton Family Dentistry makes it as comfortable as possible.

Oakton Family Dentistry earns this 5-star review. The office is so clean, well appointed and designed. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. Due to their state of the art equipment and comfy massage chairs, I was relaxed during the entire appointment. I'm normally in a complete full body isometric hold and exhausted when I leave the dentist's office. LOL. Dr. Scimeca recommended that I start using a water flosser when I switched over to his practice and it has worked very well for me. I feel like I am in totally good hands with Dr. Scimeca and his team and fully recommend them to anyone looking for a great dental practice. The monitors with trivia and fun facts are a great distraction during the exam. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed! -- Mary

Had a great visit, however, they did not tell me until after my visit that they weren't in-network for my insurance, even though I asked when I made the appointment. They only agree to accept what the insurance pays the first time then any extra is on me. Since I am looking for a permanent dentist I wish they would have been upfront about the situation.

Part of the practice's success derives from Dr. Scimeca's relentless pursuit of the latest and best dental technologies and making them available to his patients. Even though I now live quite a distance from OFD, I can't imagine ever making a change to a different practice.

Took me in on a walk in basis as a new patient when my front tooth chipped on a Saturday morning, from the receptionist, Parker to office assistant, Koseth to dental assistant, Sylvia to the dentist, Dr. Samra were so knowledgeable and friendly to deal with, definitely going back for other procedures, only complaint I have it that the practice is out of network on my dental insurance plan so I have to pay extra 10%, but it definitely worth paying a little more for less expensive procedures.

It was my first time using this dental office, and I liked it. I mentioned in the beginning of my appointment that I need to hit the road by 9 am and I was released by that time, there were no delays. In fact I did not have to wait at all, the hygienist called me promptly at the appointment time, gave me a quick tour of the office, offered to have my Invisalign braces cleaned, and did a great job performing my cleaning and explaining to me what issues I have. Dr. Samra was excellent as usual, I have been her patient for a while ever since she worked at another dental office.

Phenomenal experience with Oakton Family Dentistry! From the first call to set up the appointment to leaving after my first visit, I have not had better service. ALL the staff are friendly and helpful. Megan was my dental hygienist; she had a great touch and left with me with do discomfort and she educated me on things I have never be taught at any other dentist office. Dr. Scimeca's exam was the most thorough exam I have had since I was a child, and again was a straight shooter when it came to telling me exactly what I had going on, what I needed, and what the next steps would be. I can only send words of praise for their office and I wish I had found them a year earlier. If you are in need of a dental office that truly cares about each patient and does not just treat you like a number, AND you want a phenomenal smile and dental experience you must call their office. I promise you will not regret it.

This office is nothing short of amazing. I had my first cleaning in I-don't-know-how-long as I am afraid to go to the dentist. The entire visit I was at ease. Sure, there were the unpleasant sounds of a dentists office, but the massage chair and t.v. above me took most of that away as my hygienist worked to get my teeth back to healthy. I have a deep clean scheduled in a few weeks (my teeth/gums are in serious need of attention) and I'm not terrified! The staff explained EVERYTHING to me and I felt totally comfortable asking questions. On top of all of this greatness, my teeth already feel SO MUCH BETTER. They feel clean and on the road to healthy. I could not recommend this place highly enough.

Our whole family has been going to this practice for years. Recently, our child needed a tooth extracted. It was the most incredible experience. Mommy and son are both very happy with the procedure, professionalism, and outcome. They are truly exceptional with both adult and younger patients. The session was thorough, virtually painless, checked by Dr. Scimeca, a follow-up appointment scheduled and I was on my way after only 45 minutes. Really great experience as a new patient! I saw Dr. Elhady and his hygienist was Heather and both were INCREDIBLY friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle. I skipped a couple years of appointments and got no lectures or reprimands - just kind explanations of how it's affected my mouth and how we can get things back on track. The front desk staff was also very friendly, and the office in general is comfortable and modern. Very happy to have found such a great local dentist!

Be Aware! I and my two kids had a regular dental check up and received $580 bill from the dentist. They told me that they accepted my dental insurance. After I received $580 bill, I found that they were not in network. I asked them why they did not tell me before the check up. Their response was because I did not ask that specific question. This dentist is not in network with any insurance companies.

By far the best dental experience I have ever had! Im always a nervous mess going to the dentist due to bad experiences in the past. As soon as I walked in I was kindly greeted by all of the girls working the front desk. My dental hygienist (Katie) asked if I had any concerns. I mentioned my sensitivities in my gums, along with some other things . She kindly listened and took it all into consideration and was very gentle during the whole cleaning process and was very informative on things I could do to prevent any more sensitivity. They have all new top of the line technology and even have heaters and massagers on their seats!! Dr. Samra was amazing! She is super sweet and very personable. She sat down with me and thoroughly explained what was going on and what steps we would take to fix everything. She is very knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable knowing what I was getting into. The team as a whole is amazing! I have never left a dental office so happy and excited to come back for my future appointments!

I started going to their old location over a year ago and was happily surprised at their efficiency and how up-to-date they were with new products and methods without being pushy. Then I went to their new location and was stunned. It's a beautiful office, each room has a large window, the seats are heated with a massage option, the hygienists are friendly and thorough. I've seen both doctors and have been happy with every experience. They are very thorough in explaining what they are doing and made my comfort their number one priority. I saw they were open and called for the next availability. They fit me in the schedule for the same day. Upon entering the facility, you are greeted with a handshake and small gift. Present Day: February 9th 2019 I am very happy to say that I continue to receive exceptional care and treatment at Oakton Family Dentistry. The Dental Hygienist (Megan) thoroughly and patiently works on cleaning, taking care not to miss anything while also answering any concerns or questions. Megan's excellent work was followed by a visit from Dr. Samra who has the signature assuring presence and detailed approach in reviewing the cleaning, and current state of my teeth. She made excellent recommendations and I would enthusiastically recommend Oakton Family Dentistry to anyone reading this review based on the fact that I and my family members are receiving great and consistent care from these wonderful professionals. One Year Ago: This was my cleaning appointment. The Dental Hygienist (Diem) was detailed and thorough in the work performed on my teeth and gums. Diem guided me on how I can improve the health of my gums, and made some great suggestions which I will adopt. This was followed by a visit by Dr. Elhady, who is always a calm and assuring presence. He carefully examined the current state of my teeth, made recommendations and made sure that I felt all my questions had been answered. This Dentistry is professional, high tech and combines this with an excellent customer service. Overall the feeling is that they are coaching, and partnering with you for better dental health and I am very glad I found them!

From my hygienist (Molly) to my dentist (Elhady) and even the administrative team upfront who handle appointment scheduling and payments, just an all-around pleasant experience. I don’t know why or how I never visited Oakton Family Dentistry! From the very beginning they were extremely welcoming, reassuring, exemplified care, and made me feel so comfortable. Huge shout-out to their hygienist Diem (I hope I spelled her name right.) She is seriously the definition of what superior patient care and service is all about. Their technology is also very modernized and they do everything in their power to make you feel at ease during your visit. I chose Oakton Family Dentistry as my next Dentist because they offer low dose radiation xray. Also if necessary, they also offer Panorex xray on site! My first visit was very pleasant. While I was just there for regular cleaning, they offered additional services that my previous dentist did not. I wouldn't have known until I moved. They are also very flexible. I had to move my appointment at the last minute to attend to my daughter's changes in swim meet and they were very accommodating. Dr Scimeca saw me at the end of my check up and gave me a care plan. It was great since he wasn't pushy but just making sure he did his due diligence.

I've had some bad dentists over the years. Before going to Oakton Family Dentistry, I had a really good dentist but the rest of the practice was awful so when he left, I bailed ship. A co-worker recommend Dr. Scimeca to me and I couldn't be happier. There are a lot of dentists more convenient to my home and my office but this place is wonderful. The facilities and staff are top-notch. Going to the dentist is never fun but they make the experience as pleasant as possible.

I had the best experience getting my teeth whitened at Oakton Family Dentistry by Dr. Samra. My teeth were white stained from a long course of Invisalign, but the Kor system worked amazingly. The in office whitening was key and made a huge difference. The office staff was professional, knowledgeable, and highly accommodating. They have blankets, headphone, massage chairs, everything you can think of to make the experience enjoyable and spa-like. I will be coming back for all of my dental work! It is SO worth the drive from DC. HIGHLY recommend.

I've been going to OFD for 7+ years now and always loved them. But this new office is fantastic! It's bigger, more open, has a better-separated waiting area, and just a generally more welcoming environment. Their old digs were serviceable, but could get a mite cramped. The technology improvements are also significant. They now have ceiling-mounted monitors so now while you're being "tortured" :) you can read trivia questions and/or see demonstrations of various dental procedures (the Long-Snout Spinner Dolphin has 252 teeth! 252!). What really amazed me is that the X-rays are now hand-held. Instead of a Wall-Mounted Death-Ray, there's a hand-held machine not much bigger than an old-style supermarket scanner. Very cool. Some of these things may seem frivolous, but for people like me (A: Sensitive teeth and B: Coward) it helps to have other engaging things happening.

I've been a patient of Dr. Scimeca's for 6 years. I have been in the dental industry for 17 years so I know a great practice when I see one, and this is it. Hygienists use loops (magnification) which should be standard of care, staff is polite and professional, doctors are heavily focused on "patient first" care, they keep up with continuing education much more than what is required, office is beautifully decorated and calm, and they have many added comforts such as heated massage chairs, trivia overhead, noise cancelling headphones (or to listen to music), blanket, etc. I always recommend the office to anyone looking for great care.

Everyone in this office is caring and there to make sure you are well taken care of. Today I saw Katie for a follow up periodontal cleaning and Dr. Khan for a check up and to reseat a crown. After Dr.Samra came to examine my teeth, she let me know I had a few cavities to fill and we set up a future appointment. A week later, I came in for the treatment. Oakton Family Dentistry was amazing to me. Another dentist office diagnosed me with gum disease on my first visit and told me I needed an invasive procedure done. Skeptical, I asked for a second opinion from OFD. Stacy gave me a free consultation and did a thorough check and helped me determine that I did not have anything wrong with me. Their willingness to help me through this terrible situation was amazing and I am very thankful to them.
