My 13 year-old daughter was told by her pediatric dentist that she had two cavities that needed filling. She told me that she did not want to keep going to a kid's dentist, she wanted a grown-up dentist. I had not seen a dentist in about five years, and the dentist I saw then has moved out of the area. So I looked online for a dentist near our house. I saw that Cherrydale was nearby and had excellent reviews. So I called to make an appointment for my daughter and me. That is when I found that their Arlington location is under renovation and they are temporarily in an Alexandria location. I made the appointment anyway, and both my daughter and I are glad I did. We wanted to be on time for our first appointment but we were a few minutes late. We discovered that Landover Mall and Landover Shopping Center are not the same place. Crystal, Dr. Copeland's receptionist greeted us with kind enthusiasm and soon we were both greeted by Dr. Copeland. I will not bore anyone with the details of our minor Dental issues, except to say we had some. Dr. Copeland took the time to address our issues that morning, even though it required him spending over an hour with me while he also worked in his other appointments rather seamlessly. Dr. Copeland saw both of us and he is clearly very good at what he does. Five stars both for him and his staff.

Dr. Copeland is extremely helpful with me - I am completely neurotic about dental pain. I can’t help myself, I went to another dentist because I got a coupon and I lived to bitterly regret it. Some fool ruined my alignment and I couldn’t even close my mouth properly- Dr Copeland kindly fixed the work of someone else - even pointing out where they made mistakes! They have tv now which is very good for distraction.

I seldom have long to wait before Sally, the hygienist, gets me set up and begins cleaning my teeth. I admittedly don’t brush/floss as often as I should. So she always has to use scrapers, etc to remove the hardened crud (I can’t believe how hard plaque can get). I’m sure my tea-drinking does not help the color either. And a few years ago I had several cavities (had not been to a dentist in over 10 years because I had been cavity-free since birth for many decades). After a massive cleaning in several visits, Dr. Copeland filled those cavities with only slight discomfort. And now he and Sally see me twice a year to keep it that way. Definitely would recommend,this practice. Particularly since my MetLife coverage pays for the cleanings and regular X-rays
