Kid friendly atmosphere, flexible with scheduling appointments, and they are great at talking to kids on their level. Ms. Susie & Dr. Stump have consistently been amazing at teaching my daughter about healthy habits for her teeth in a way she can actually understand.

The staff here are amazing! My autistic son was terrified of dentists after having a bad experience elsewhere. Upon a recommendation, we took him to Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry. They introduced him to the world of dentistry in tiny increments to help him get over his fears. The first time was just a visit to the waiting room to play with toys; the second time was just looking at (and playing with) the equipment in their private! dentist room. He loved making the chair go up and down and, by the end of that visit, he was actually willing to sit in the chair and let Dr Stump just count his teeth. (We were not charged for these introductory visits.) The dentists and dental hygienists were always so kind, explained everything well, took whatever time was needed to make him feel comfortable and in control, and never pushed him to do more than he could. Each visit built on the last one. He is now 13, is able to do full dental cleanings and even wear braces!, and looks forward to his dental appointments. I am so grateful for Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry!

His first appointment about 6 months ago was a little rough, but a separate room with a TV and a little extra TLC made it much better. I took my 5 kids for the first time today. I was amazed they cleaned all of their teeth at the same time! It was a warm, playful, colorful practice. A friend recommended Dr. Dixon's office to me over three years ago when we were in search of a dentist for our toddler. I have consistently been impressed with the care, patience, and education provided to our family. Initially, our daughter was not the easiest patient. However, the dental assistant (who we love and request regularly) would sing her silly songs while cleaning her teeth completely distracting her from what was really happening. I always feel as if we are a priority with Dr. Dixon. She is thorough in answering all of my questions, she takes time with our daughter, even using funny dolls to teach proper cleaning techniques. I couldn't be happier with this practice. When we were leaving today my daughter eagerly asked "When do I get to go back?"

Dr. Stump and his staff are fantastic. My daughter loves going there. Everyone in the office is very professional and Dr. Stump really works with you as a parent to meet the needs of your child. We've even had dental emergencies, and Dr. Stump has always answered his phone (once while on his family vacation) just to help us on the weekends. He is fabulous and I highly recommend this practice to everyone I know.

This was my son's 1st dentist appointment, and I was impressed by the entire staff, including and especially Dr. Stump and his assistant, Brie. Ms. Suzie is the best! Dr. Dixon and Dr. Stump continuously collaborates on what's the best treatment for my children especially for my son who's 7 y.o. and so, so nervous and have extreme gag reflex on whatever foreign touches his mouth. Ms. Suzie is super with kids and she got my son comfortable just by talking to him. Love this place! The staff is very personable and will help you with whatever you need. Shout out to Carestin who helped me a lot with the dental insurance claim and Dr. Mazzeo who's very patient with me when dealing with insurance company.

My six, three and one year old all think it’s a special treat to go see Dr. Stump at Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry! The facilities are clean and inviting for kids while also functional and relaxing for the adults (great coffee station and flavored sparkling water too!). The techs are patient and kind to my kids and don’t mind if the kids have the wiggles. They’re also great at calming nervous kids and have lots of experience doing so! Also, when my youngest was two weeks old, he had a tongue tie resolved (that had been snipped right after birth but apparently, the doctor didn’t get it all that time), and Dr. Stump was very knowledgeable and quick. He has the only CO2 laser in town which is a great nonsurgical method of resolving a tongue tie.

Superb experiences for my daughter's first dental treatment in Charlottesville! I was attracted to its soothing green-nature paintings and the tranquil views out of very window, and my 6 year old daughter got super tender and considerate care since the moment we stepped in the door. All staff are super nice, welcoming and friendly. We love Suzi exceptionally who explained in vivid languages every step she is going through like a game. Gianna got two teeth taken out today easy peasy with great spirits. I am so happy to take my friend's recommendation and would love to make recommendation to my friends. I just took my 14-month-old son to see Dr. Dixon for his first dentist visit. The entire staff - reception, the dental technician who saw my son, and Dr. Dixon - were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Dixon and the dental tech were so good with my son and explained everything to me thoroughly. The office is also quite kid-friendly, decorated with bright colors and having lots of toys around for my son to play with. The staff understands typical behavior of children and were understanding. When my son started to wander around the reception area, the staff assured me that it was fine for him to do so. I also liked that there were visual and audio distractions for children like the movie playing in the reception area and the screen for playing cartoons that was placed over the chair in the exam room - very good ideas. I highly recommend taking your child to this practice.

I do not think it would be possible for me to more highly recommend this practice for pediatric dental care. My three children (all under age 6) are patients of Dr. Stump and we could not be more impressed by the quality of care and attention to detail from him and his entire staff. Our initial visits were because one of our children required extensive dental care. We had originally been recommended to another pediatric practice in town, but were unable to have the work completed successfully after multiple attempts. We were not happy and decided to look for another practice. Many sources directed us to Ch'ville Pediatric Dentistry and we haven't looked back. Dr. Stump and his staff were very patient and understanding through the entire length of the procedures. All options were explained and questions were always answered fully before any work was done. In addition, we have been continually impressed at how this practice is geared 100% towards the needs and attention span of children (as it should be). There are many games and activities in the waiting room to occupy your child while you wait, yet everything always looks very clean. Once you're taken back, the hygienists and dentists do everything (including singing and reciting children's movies) to keep your child happily distracted during the exam. All in all, I could give no higher recommendation for a pediatric dental practice!

When your 4yo leaves and says he can't wait to go back, you know it was a good experience! We had less than a 2 minute wait in the waiting room, the dental assistants were incredibly friendly and energetic. My little one with sensory processing disorder, didn't fuss at all. The dental assistant working on him unabashedly sang a song during his entire cleaning. Dr. Stump was courteous, answered all of my concerns, and was gentle as he checked my boys' teeth. We don't live near this practice, but I make the drive and wouldn't go anywhere else!

The entire team took special care of my (very afraid) son. He had a really rough experience with his first dentist from years ago and still gets very nervous even with cleanings. This time; however, we had an "emergency" spacer come undone. The team worked us in the same day and they were GREAT at easing my son's fear. A fantastic pediatric dentist. My children usually display a great deal of anxiety with any kind of doctor. They actually enjoy coming here. Our 7 year old just had a procedure done today and he said "it was relaxing", since he got to watch Pokemon on the TV while the procedure was being done. Before today everything is perfect. But this morning my son has the second time SDF and the nurse is different from last time. She was in such a hurry and the movements seemed so rude without any patience. Finally my son’s face was shaking and painful. She used the brush very rudely! Cannot believe there is a big difference between nurses in the same pediatric dentist. We will never meet that nurse. Hope the doctor could know some staff are really in a big hurry to finish the work. She was not enjoying her work.

My children have been twice and both times billing was a mess. Received 2 bills months after visits when insurance should have covered it. Be careful for what services you get because CPD will not let you know if insurance covers it before hand. Will be going to someone else in the future. The office manager could have easily corrected their mistake, but chose not to.

This practice is better than I had hoped for a pediatric dentistry. It was clean, colorful, and bright with a great play area. We went in for a lip tie evaluation and were given a choice rather than pushed in one direction or another. They squeezed our son in for his first cleaning while were there. The receptionists, hygienist, and Dr. Stump were all as nice as they could be. Dr. Stump has fantastic bedside manner and made us, as well as our 1 and 3yr old, feel very comfortable. We'll definitely be returning, even though it's almost an hour drive. Well worth it!

Everyone is great with the kids. Dr. Stump wears the flashiest clothes and I think it lightens the mood for the little ones. My girls love everyone. I would highly recommend them!
