WOW I absolutely love my experience at Awesome Smiles! First the young lady at the front desk received me with a beautiful smile and cheering attitude. Then present me with a cute gift. A professional and friendly young lady met with me to answer questions and introduced me to Dr. Lowe, who answer more questions and informed me of the process and treatment. She then took me to my station to have my teeth cleaned by a very professional, friendly and knowledgeable young man. He took great care of me and gave me all the info I need to keep a healthy smile now that I'm wearing braces. If yo are searching for a dentist, I highly recommend this practice!!!

Had to change dentists due to a recent insurance change. Came to Awesome Smiles and absolutely loved it! From the moment I walked in the receptionist was very informative and sweet. There is a mini fridge up front so you can help yourself to some drinks, and there are plenty of magazines to read. The appointments were for my 4 kids and myself. It was my daughter's first time (she's 3) and Dr Lowe made her feel so special and comfortable! She did wonderful. They even gave her balloons which was an added surprise. My two sons appointments went well too and they were pleased with the visit! The dental hygenist was very friendly and personable. I will def be referring my friends to Awesome Smiles and am actually looking forward to my next visist! I had an instant connection with the staff and I think that's very important!

If you are a new patient BEWARE! Not all dental practices are created equal. First, let me start off by saying that the front-end desk person that handles the billing named Marina (I am guessing that’s her name) needs to learn some manners, should take a class in customer service, and then be fired. At the very least -she needs to be re- trained to know that - We don’t ever tell any patients new or present, that “we have enough business that we don’t need yours.” That’s right she told us that it did not matter if we took our family of 4 elsewhere because they had plenty of patients. Need I say more? Well I was hoping for a great experience and what I got was another dentist facility that failed to put their patients first instead of their pockets. If I could give a negative five-star experience I would. There is no excuse for over payment or for getting a bill as a new patient, especially if you are giving the practice your insurance information upfront. Bare minimum I should be made aware of what is covered under your plan and what I have already used under my plan to avoid out of pocket expenses. The practice should not just add services that are not covered just because it’s how they do things there. I even told them, not to do anything that was not covered under my insurance plan and yet I still got a bill for extra services they performed that are not covered by my insurance plan. Though I understand it is ultimately my responsibility to know my coverage, I would think the words in English, ‘’ don’t do anything that is not covered under my plan and tell me if your doing something that is not covered.” Would be simple to understand. My previous dentist for many years, sold their practice, and I was forced to find another dentist. My previous dentist went out of their way to make sure that their patients knew all the cost of any procedures and what was covered and not covered under our dental plan and made sure to review if any out of pocket costs would apply. I never got an extra bill and I always knew what to expect out of pocket and paid it right there before I left. Here are the excuses I got from Marina: We don’t know what is covered until we submit a claim to your insurance. Yet they printed out my coverage for me when I got there and reviewed my insurance before any procedures were even done? We must perform comprehensive oral exams, or we don’t know what we are dealing with. – Well you can perform a regular mouth exam just like any dentist but when you call it a comprehensive mouth exam that takes the same takes 5 minutes as a regular mouth exam the insurance company won’t cover it. There was nothing special about a comprehensive mouth exam I know I was there. New Patients - Remember to transfer your x rays from your previous dentist- because if you forget they make no effort to remind you that they will need to take new x-rays that are not covered under your insurance for a new set. Instead of rescheduling the appointment so that you don’t get billed again for x- rays. You see something as simple as a suggestion to reschedule, could have saved my family hundreds of dollars in out of pocket expenses. Instead it was about them getting paid and not our families well being. We were brand new patients and there is no protocol or policy there for in taking new patients with a smooth transition so that you can avoid out of pocket expenses. New patients beware they are not there to help you transition, expect a bill for out of pocket expenses, know what your coverage is, and reschedule your appointment if need be since the billing person makes no effort to assist your family in your transition. All you get is an email so read it carefully because they have not trained their front billing person well at all. Good luck -we won't be going back for round two.

I just visited Awsome Smiles, along with my wife, for the first time today as we searched for a new family dentist. I'm proud to announce that the search is over! Dr. Lowe and her crack team of cavity assissins proved to be the most technically proficient dental care professionals I've EVER encountered. I got a very good recommendation about Awesome Smiles from a friend. I traveled from Silver Spring, Md to Haymarket, Va for treatment because of the ringing endorsement I was given. I contacted Dr. Lowe and she immediately gave me an emergency appointment for the following day. This, hands down, is the finest dental establishment I have personally visited.
