Several months ago, I came in for a routine cleaning and yearly xrays. A panoramic xray indicated that I had a large mass (that I had not felt) just below my lower jaw. Dr. Stone immediately contacted an oral surgeon colleague who confirmed Dr. Stone's suspicion. I had a large, almost one inch diameter stone attached to a salivary gland. Two weeks later, sitting in an ENT's office, we scheduled surgery. All went well. The surgeon said that I was lucky that a panoramic xray was used so that the mass could be removed before it became infected. My wife and I have been patients at Stone Dental ever since we moved to Vermont about six years ago. We've had numerous crowns, caps and of course semi-annual cleanings. We have always been treated warmly and professionally; their work is excellent.

I write this not only as a new patient but as someone who just completed fifteen years on the Board of Hartford Hospital (Connecticut) and who Chaired the Quality Committee. From the courtesy reminder of the appointment through the completion of Dr. Stone's exam, I found the entire first contact with your office to be professional, polished, and organized. You are clearly a highly competent team but more importantly, you demonstrate empathy for the patient that is so important to a long-term relationship. I do wish I had received the paperwork in the mail that I had to fill out in the office prior to being seen as it would have been more efficient for both me an your office, but it was a minor inconvenience. Most importantly the X-rays taken and the explanation of what they showed, and the suggestion to get a second opinion before proceeding, made good sense to me. Thank you for such a positive first experience.

It took longer than it should have (we're talking about going to the dentist here) but I followed and I've never looked back. My previous dentists were in Fairfield County, CT - a place that should be littered with good dentists - and I can say with certainty that Stone Dental is better than any practice I dealt with there. Peggy Stone and her colleagues, are enthusiastic and committed - they obviously love what they do and care about doing it well. Janine cleaned my teeth, and it's about as good as a cleaning gets...but I'd still prefer IV morphine. They keep me coming back for more cleanings, which is a testament to their excellent practice.
