Moved to this area recently and have been dentist shopping. I am over 50 years old and have had to have 1 root canal in my entire life. In the six months between this and my last dental visit (where the hygienist complimented me on my brushing skills), I was told that I needed at least 4 crowns, a “deep cleaning”as opposed to a normal cleaning, which would cost more and require an additional visit. I was given a 3 page itemization of the issues with my teeth, which would require 6 visits and thousands of dollars worth of procedures. I left having paid for a cleaning which I didn’t receive. They also offer insurance for $400 when checking in, which is very high for this area. My last dentist charged $99. Won’t be returning.

I have been going to Atoka Family Dentistry,since its opening, ten years ago. Dr. Larkins and his staff has always been thorough, timely, and professional. I receive numerous compliments on my teeth. I would gladly recommend Dr. Larkins to all my family and friends.

Believe the other reviews posted about this dentist. My wife took my step daughter to this dentist for a routine examination. The dentist said that she had six cavities. I couldn't believe this was true and wanted a second opinion. After visiting another dentist and seeing the X-ray there were no cavities evident. Maybe the dentist is trying to pay for his two door Bentley by charging for procedures that are not needed.

My children enjoyed seeing Dr. Larkin and his staff. The kids were recently seen by a very kind and patient dental hygienist but unfortunately walked away with a couple of cavities. A treatment plan was provided and I noticed the price was extremely high for the services they would need. I contacted my insurance company questioning the invoice and they told me the amount was not accurate (hundreds of dollars different). I called the office and requested a new invoice based on the fee schedule my insurance company mentioned. I do not work in insurance nor a dental office so the lingo used for explanation did not register with me. I asked LaDonna, who answered the phone, if the office could contact my insurance company or if I needed my insurance company to contact the office but she insisted on trying to explain why codes and treatments were needed. I explained I read those codes to the insurance company and again reiterated, it would be best if the two companies spoke. I mentioned when I had dental treatment for a cavity in an out of network office, it was still not as expensive as quoted. LaDonna then said maybe that's where I should go. So when I said, "Wow, you're quick to turn away customers?" She had no response. All I wanted was a bill agreed upon by both companies (changed or no change..I wanted an accurate bill) so I could go ahead and schedule the appointment for my children. Furthermore, after I was done with the conversation, my children and I arrived at a doctor's appointment and I was explaning the situation to the lady at check-in. She ALSO said billing was the reason her family decided to stop going to Atoka Family Dentistry. Now, I'm looking for a new dental office. If the staff answering the phone suggests I use another dentist office because of a simple request, then I feel it is best to not use Atoka Family Dentistry.

Don't waist your time the front desk lady(blonde with her hair pulled up each time) is very rude and don't do her job right. The Dr himself is equally rude, walk into a room and talks down to you and want answer your questions and will over talk you when your explaining anything. They also set your appt up and call you the night before and cancel and want let you reschedule right then and when you call to make your new appt they try to give you problems like you missed your appt the first time. And when you do get to come in and your a Tenn care patient they will try and tell you that you have no ins when I know my children do as I work in medical field and check my children ins before I go to their appts. I will never step foot back into this office and I will make sure if anyone ever ask me who to go to I'll make sure your name is never brought up and if it is I'll tell my horror story of my children visits. If the manger would like to speak to me you can look my number up in your files under my two children names.

If I could give zero starts I would. The billing practices at this office are horrible and down right criminal. They charged me 500% more for some work I had done than what they told me the cost would be. STAY CLEAR OF THIS DENTIST!

Be prepared to sit and wait for several hours. They pack patients in and make you wait. I went in for a cleaning and sat there for over two hours. When I told the girl I had to go back to work she did a quick sanding of my teeth and that was it. I'm sure they charged the insurance for a full cleaning. Scheduled a root canal appointment after getting a crown. Took time off work for the appointment, went in and they said they needed another x-ray, then referred me to a different dentist without much explanation. I feel like they give you the run around and the doctor spends very little time with you. I find the staff to be unprofessional as well as Dr. Larkins. At my first visit he told me I needed Botox. "Nope, I"m just here to get my teeth cleaned sir!" I am now driving over 30 minutes to receive better, more thorough and professional treatment.

Dr. Larkins and his assistants are among the nicest I've met, but theyre not at all punctual. If my appointment is at 9 and I'm still sitting in an empty waiting room an hour later something is wrong. Furthermore, if someone with a later appointment comes in and is seen before my children I do get aggravated. It's happened all three times we've been there.

He is very educated in dentistry, botox and fillers. I highly recommend Atoka Family Dentistry for all my family dental and cosmetic needs!!!! I visited this dentist after a recent move to Atoka and unfortunately cannot recommend them. Long story short, after prior excellent checkups by my dentist in SC, this dentist claimed I needed 8 fillings and a crown just 6 months after a good checkup. Further, the dental tech was brutal during my cleaning. I didn't believe I needed fillings or a crown and had this confirmed by another local dentist. I'm not sure what's going on at this place, but I won't be back.

This was the first dentist my two grandchildren have seen since being toddlers. I took them every six months for cleanings and check ups. It always seemed that one or the other had numerous cavities. they would schedule another appointment for them to come in for fillings. At one time my granddaughter I was told had 5 cavities if I remember correctly. I know at one time they had cavities again on teeth that he had already filled. One time I took my grandson in for a filling and they had already hooked him up to gas and gave him shots in the mouth and Dr. Larkins left the room. He then returned to say that this was a cavity under a filling that he had filled last year and that I would need to pay $75.00 to have it filled again. He said my grandsons TENNCARE would only pay to fill the same tooth once every other year. I asked him to go ahead and fill it and I would bring in the money on Friday. He told me no, I would need to pay now or just bring him back Friday. Needless to say I was upset that he would risk anesthesia on my grandson again over $75.00 I mean he has seen these kids since they were toddlers. I went ahead and put it on my credit card so he would take care of his tooth. I then began to do a little research on him in the community and after that decided that I would not bring my grandchildren back to him again. I am just sorry I did not do my research on him before hand. Lesson learned but I feel sadly at my grandchildren's expense.

Atoka Family Dentistry is a wonderful choice if your looking for a dentist office in your area.I have to brag about Dr.Larkins.He is a incredible dentist!! He is very sweet which makes your experience in the chair so much better. He doesn’t have very heavy hands!! Like many other dentist, I’ve had in the the past.Everyone in the office is so nice and welcoming.The office is beautiful,clean And they have hours to accommodate everyone. Thank you again for giving me my smile back!! Dr. Larkins suggested I remove my horrible gold teeth. Which he did.It saved my Career!!! Thanks a million!!!!!
