I got my wisdom teeth out and as they were giving me local anesthetic the doctor mentioned I could possibly have a lifelong tingling in my jaw. Mind you, this is not crucial I get them out, purely cosmetic so I can get pretty straight teeth. I was not given a decision in this or a warning, just come in next week before my benefits renew, aka, right before Christmas. Keep in mind I am a single mother of a 4 year old. They sent me home with ibuprophin. I happen to notice the dea number is missing, so that is probably the strongest hee can prescribe is the counter stuff. He sewes up my gaping holes (they are already fully grown out) And makes a web for the small amount of food I managed to eat to be caught in these large holes that were basically left completely open and draped with string. After going back he tells me the first round of antibiotics failed and I have an infection. Explains the blinding pain. And the antibiotics he is now prescribing may give me an allergic reaction, but he does not fail to mention that with or without the antibiotics, there is about an equal chance I will land in the hospital. Merry Christmas to me and my child, who will only be 4 once. But hey, they got me in in under a week and it was super cheap.

First I want to let everyone know that the old dentists who worked here (that have received a bad review), are no longer there. Dr. Brown and his staff are amazing. He's been our dentist for 8 years now and has treated our faimly with wonderful care. I would recommend anyone go to Dr Brown.

A really nice dentistry, they were sweet and I am happy how my teeth looked when I left.

Very unprofessional the staff is usually rude talking about people who leave behind their backs loud enough that you can hear it in the waiting area . They are constantly changing the appointment times and it is very inconvenient to have you change your appointment the day before the appointment when you have to work .

I had the best dental experience ever today I had a extraction done and they was very patient and made sure i was numb then took her time to remove the tooth. I used to fear the dentist but after seeing... Tiffany Morgan.. I believe I will never have the fear of dental work...( as long as she is my dentist...) Also the receptionist was awesome they helped us get a discount to save us money so in my eyes these guys go above and beyond and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a GREAT dental experience....

My granddaughter had appointment yesterday with Dr. Jones at American Family Dentistry. It was the worst experience I have ever been in. First of all he is a plain out smart ellic. I was talking to my granddaughter, which is only 7 yrs old, and told her to just close her eyes, so she didn't see the needle and freak out, and I said it won't hurt. Well he came out with a smartass remark, " don't lie to a kid". And I said I'm not, it should be numb already from the medicine that he put on her tooth before the shot. OK I let that slide. Now she is crying and feeling her jaw, and I explained that it's only numb baby , like it does when we put orajrel on it. And again he comes back with another smartass remark, " orajrel! That's the worst thing to use, don't be using that stiff!! OMG!! By then I was getting pretty upset. And he also said Just let me do the Dentistry! What the crap!? I wasn't even talking to him in the first place. So after that ordeal , he was trying to get an ex-ray of her tooth. By now she is crying putting bad and scared, because he was getting aggravated at her and getting hateful, because she couldn't close her mouth enough to get the ex-ray so he took his index finger and on her forehead he poked her three times and said as he was doing that no, no, no. I looked at him and told my daughter that my granddaughter would not be back at this place!!! So I said I'm going out before I go off in here. That's no way to treat a child. That is exactly why ppl don't go to the dentist. He is a jerk and I don't recommend anyone take their children to that place. Even one of the employees agreed with me when I said he was a smartass. Ppl please don't take your children to him. He does not have the patience to deal with children, especially small children.

We have been with Dr Jones for 7 years and he's always amazing! The hygienists are absolutely wonderful. My boys love going to their dentist

Best Dental Experience Ever! From the very beginning with Mary Elizabeth who was very helpful and had a good attitude despite working on a Saturday. I was brought back super fast. I had my cousin's child with me(mother passed when she was 3), David made sure we had a seat for her while I was being treated, thank u for that. The entire environment was super laid back and very comfortable which made having your tooth drilled on not so bad. Dr. Brown was down to earth and very caring, he explained everything to me in a way I could understand. I was in and out before I knew it and didn't have to mortgage my house to have tooth repaired. This was with out a doubt the best dental experience I have EVER had. I will recommend Dr. Brown and his staff to anyone in need of dental services. Mary Elizabeth, David, and Dr. Brown, thank you all very much!

I have had 2 visits so far and am so impressed with the professionalism that is here! I want to give a shoutout to Samantha for giving me the confidence in my smile! Thank you ma’am!

The wait was a little long, but I don’t place blame on them as I am a new patient and it was a emergency visit. It was my first dental experience that didn’t make me feel like I was gonna go broke in one visit or just overwhelmed. They addressed my immediate issue and put me at ease. Both the hygienist and dentist were respectful of my overall plan for dental care given my dental history. I felt heard for once. They even suggested a partial that snaps on looks like a denture instead of the metal one. That blew my mind away. I have been so close to just pulling all my teeth and they both made feel comfortable enough to consider other options. I would definitely recommend them to others!

They are always so nice, professional, caring, competent.

The staff is great ad Dr. Brown is kind and patient. I have been going to him for 6 years.

I was so offended the way my special needs adult daughter was treated at her cleaning. The hygienist acted more annoyed then compassionate to accommodate her needs. She was unfriendly and would huff and grunt with annoyance while cleaning. She also wouldn't use the suctions correctly while rinsing and kept chocking my daughter. She never finished the cleaning barking out a worse case scenario to my cognitive delayed daughter scaring her that her teeth are going to rot, fall out and eventually she will need dentures. I told her she can't do her hygiene by herself and its up to me and it can be stressful and she rudely suggested their is medication for that. I was offended. I understand my daughter had gingivitis but isn't that why she was there to be cared for and educated to move forward on proper oral health care. The session ended with me helping my daughters rinse her bloody teeth in the sink cause the hygienists was feed up. My daughter left crying her eyes out not from pain but from humiliation. They didn't even ask at the payment desk if I would like to schedule to try again after some recommended home treatment (which wasn't properly given). I regret not standing up and reporting to her doctor this bad experience at the time but I was speechless over the experience. Note: They also have a bad reputation of losing files or mixing up information/dates on records. Our family will never go back there again.

If you live in the area and you go to any other dentistry practice- you're doing it wrong. Their professional staff, super clean environment and very reasonable prices makes for an excellent experience.

Teresa, the receptionist went above and beyond helping my husband and I yesterday. Miranda, the hygienist was nice and also gentle with her cleaning. However, Dr. Jones was rude. He was unprofessional, condescending and rude. He didn't answer my questions and tried to intimidate me into getting all the work done regardless if my insurance covered it or not. At reception afterwards, I requested to change to Dr. Morgan. Hopefully, she will have a professional, polite approach. I haven't met her so the jury is still out on that. I wish the exit desk wasn't in the lobby because I didn't want to air my complaint in front of other patients.

Okay so I guess I should have read the reviews before I went here today. This dentist is very rude. He is a know it all that clearly knows nothing at all. Obviously this is not the right profession for him. If you are wanting an experience like Dick's last resort restaurant, this is the place to go. First off, I am a breastfeeding mother, so of course I "have" to bring her with me everywhere, and no I don't have a babysitter. Secondly, don't scrape the plaque from my teeth and wipe it on my tongue. I don't want it back in my mouth. Lastly, do not talk to me like I am a twelve year old. Please find a different profession.

My private dentist switched to American Family Dentistry on Kingston Pike and I followed him. Bad mistake. I had constant problems with billing. The last time, they submitted my claim to the insurance with an incorrect tax ID number, my insurance rejected it, and then I called and was told they would resubmit with the correct number. They resubmitted and put the incorrect number again! When my insurance turned it down again, they sent me a nasty letter saying they were going to turn me over to a colllection agency if I didn’t pay. All this for a cleaning and checkup that is paid 100 percent by my insurance. That was the final straw. The facility itself is not particularly appealing but I remained because of my dentist. However, if they can’t file a simple insurance claim, then they don’t deserve my business.. I will not be going back any more.

Would not recommend booking via Zocdoc online. Otherwise seemed nice, but was unable to be seen during my appointment time (since I was double booked).

The staff who work in this office are fantastic! The Dentist himself leaves something to be desired. He was told my son has anxieties with dentists and he had to take something to calm him down. It went down hill from there. He didn't talk to him and tried to shove things in his mouth. I'm totally disgusted with him. If you want to be treated with TOTAL DISRESPECT he's your man...

My account was all messed up. I spoke to Justin the manager and he said he would correct it. My insurance had sent the 136.00 but it ever got applied to my account. I called to see about my next appointment, the guy that answered the phone said Justin had closed my account and I could not be seen again. What?! Poor customer service and the billing department is a joke. The manager even said "Justin" that the billing department is terrible because it is a big company- not like the smaller dentist's offices! If I could give a zero, I would.

I have been a patient for a few years and while there has been significant change over, Prati is now my hygienist for life! Amazingly thorough and kind. Dr Brown is nice and professional too!

Terrible experience here. I would not recommend this office or Dr. Jones to anyone. First off, I called requesting an appointment for my TMJ (which they specifically say on their website that they handle) and after going to the appointment and waiting almost an hour to be seen I'm told they don't handle TMJ in that office and I'd need to go to an orthodontist. Clearly they could've told me that over the phone! They obviously just wanted the money from the appointment. Secondly, in the less than five minutes that Dr. Jones spent with me he starts pulling on my jaw telling me to open it wider and getting frustrated with me, so I try to tell him that I CANT open it which is the whole reason for the visit (which he should've known) so then he snaps that me that he can't look at my teeth while I'm talking so I needed to be quiet. Then proceeds to trying to stretch my jaw again. He did not care at all that I was in pain. He was so rude and inconsiderate. I will never be back here and I will certainly be warning anyone I know not to come here either.

Ashley Baker

Would give 0 stars if I could. Very rude staff and the dentist scams people out of there money by telling them they need dental work that they do not! Was told I needed a 400$ root canal. A second opinion confirmed I did not. please do not go here!!!

There are so many nice things I could say! I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. Clammy, heart racing, and shaky. That kind of thing. This was my first time going to AFD. It was for inflamed, swollen, painful, and bleeding gums. After 9 yrs of avoiding the dentist, I couldn’t take the pain anymore. Daniel at the front desk was very nice and informative regarding my insurance and also let me know they were running ahead of schedule so I was able to be seen sooner! I appreciated that! Marcie(excuse my spelling if incorrect) the hygienist was an absolute sweetheart. She took my xrays and told me what she was looking at on each tooth, described the bone line, described everything she saw. Keep in mind this appointment happened during a storm and the lights kept flickering, in my head it’s like a horror movie.. my anxiety over dental work and the lights flickering.. but I told her I was nervous and she was super comforting. I can’t thank her enough. Per Dr Morgan who was also super nice and wonderful, said I just needed deep cleaning below the gum line. Ouch! But Dr Morgan was extremely informative and Marcie made sure I was numbed up well and that I could barely feel a thing, just pressure. While she was doing the cleaning, she talked to me and told me everything she was doing. And she was funny as well! She and Dr Morgan provided me with tips on how to heal my gums quickly and told me what kind of products they would suggest. I came out of there with a beautiful smile and my gums felt soooo much better! I don’t think I could possibly had better treatment! Bright side as well, no cavities! But from the desk check in to the cleaning to the dr exam and back to the desk to check out... amazing visit! Thank you guys so much for your kindness! You made my anxiety completely disappear! I look forward to my next visit! :)

A friend asked me to recommend and I HIGHLY recommended this one. Not because of Dr. Brown (who gives amazing gum massages when jabbing novacain in your mouth). Not for David (who's chair side manners are top notch!). I recommended this dentist because of Mary Elizabeth!! She makes every person who comes in feel welcomed. She laughs at my terrible jokes and will be forthcoming enough to tell me they are terrible. She has been the unsung hero for Dr. Brown for years!!!
