Terrible place. Receptionists are cold and unreceptive. Have gone in twice over the last 3 months to get work done and both times I have left with no work due to the fact the prices change and insurance coverage changes the moment you sit down in the chair. I was clearly frustrated when I left, but not a single person said a word to me when I left, just watched me walk out the door. Don’t worry, I won’t be back!

Since my last experience with a dental appointment this time I I called to verify my appointment as well as talk to them about my insurance. They told me to go online and fill out three forms which I attempted to do but it kept jumping off line which that happens. I also ask specifically about verification of insurance prior to the appointment since we were going to be doing the consult and procedure on the same day which would be a Saturday. They said we don't get information prior to the appointment we wait until you are here. I discussed that I had a dental and medical insurance that would cover at anesthesia as well as the general process. I told them I needed to find out what would be the out-of-pocket and they said that would be discussed at the consultation. I said to Brooklyn that my insurance and dental would cover up to $2000 and ask if that would cover it and she is assured me that she had not seen A case similar to the one I have that was over $2000. I said so they did tha work and anesthesia $2000 no more and she responded I haven't seen it so you should be OK. So I go to the appointment I get there I fill out the paperwork and wait for the doctor to see us. He came within about 30-45 minutes of waiting in the back and explains the procedure and shows us the x-rays and he was very polite. Then we waited for probably another 30 to 45 minutes while they showed us what insurance would pay and what we would have to pay. The total of that I was going to have to pay out-of-pocket was over $1000. I ask if they included both insurances. I was told no the medical part I would have to pay out-of-pocket now and then put it on the insurance to see if they would pay. The thing is I already asked them about that and I was told that they would take care of that when I got to the office and showed proof of insurance to them. So now because as Brooklyn puts it "we don't know that" referring to what my medical insurance would cover I said that's why I ask you before hand and I could've taken care of this prior to this appointment now I have to find someone else. She was not helpful she did not offer any suggestions other than repeating herself "well we don't know that." Spent 3 1/2 hours in travel time and sitting in the office for nothing but aggravation. Brooklyn is a shallow not quite bright individual that I don't care deal with again. So the reason for the one star is for the insurance situation with Brooklyn. Everyone else was Nice.

I hate the dentist. But I had a great experience at American Family Denistry in Germantown, the hygentist, Tracey is awesome. I felt no pain and she is very professional. She explains and provide solutions. I will definitely be back.

I went yesterday for the first time. Lesly the hygienist was very gentle, friendly, and went over my needs thoroughly. Then Dr. Harpole (sp?) arrived and he new I have dental anxiety and he was funny and thoughtful. One of the best dental experiences I’ve had.

They provide great customer service and the wait time was phenomenal! Dr. Labella called the day before my procedure to answer any questions I may have had and I really appreciate that type of Pre-op care! My only complaint is that I didn’t know I had payment options. I had to take from an important bill to pay up front for the services rendered.

I have a serve tooth ache on a Saturday morning. This has been my dentist for more than two year. They decide to tell me, even though they are open, that there is nothing they can do for me until next week!!!!! Who wants to deal with a tooth ache for multiple days!!! Completely unsatisfied!!! I will be taking my business elsewhere!!

The service I receive from the dentist and hygienist is awesome. I love Taylor!! She is very passionate about what she does!! I wish I could give her a separate review with 5 stars.. Omg...the front desk staff (not all ) is horrible...ATTITUDE CENTRAL... I have never experienced rudeness from a place that I give my money to. It is very weird to me how they are...act as if somebody owes them something. My most recent bad experience with the front desk was yesterday, when I went for a cleaning. My exam was awesome! I got to the front desk and realized I forgot my purse, which I had a $31 bill. I informed the girl that I forgot my purse, but I could give her my checking account number, and she informed me that she couldn't take that which I was OK with that, so she goes on to tell me that she needs a payment before I leave (held hostage). I proceeded to calling the bank, which they would not give me my card number and I sat down for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get my credit card number. Keep in mind, I was on my lunch break...so I searched, searched, and searched furiously. She took me through all that trouble to tell me oh you can just call your card information in when you get to it.... I was beyond livid! I called in today to give my card information, and here comes the rudeness. I was placed on hold, which was not a problem, so during my hold time I had someone to step into my office to speak with me. The lady got on the phone hollering hello and then hung up. I politely called back to let her know I was calling to make a payment, and she goes on to tell me she was saying hello and that I was talking to someone else. After this experience, I'm really thinking about changing dental offices.

They were very nice and quick. I had to get wisdom teeth removed so I had to do a consultation first and they were able to give me an estimate and setting up the appointment was easy. When I got there for the appointment they went over the pricing again before doing the procedure and it was a little messed up but the lovely lady at the front desk fixed the issue and my actual out-of-pocket payment was lower than the estimate! I was really nervous about the whole thing but they explained everything well and kept reassuring me. The only issue was the dentist had to reinsert the needle twice because my veins were small. They were all extremely nice and helpful!

I scheduled an appointment online for 10 am and when I arrived at 1012 I was told I couldn’t be seen because I was suppose to be here at 930. My confirmation email stated 10 am and I was then told by Monika that I was called on yesterday and I asked at what time was I called and was a voicemail left I was told yes then a few seconds later I was told that no they didn’t call me on yesterday but in fact they called today with an automated system and still I have no missed call not voicemail stating that I would need to be here at 930 for my 10 am appointment. I was asked to reschedule for another day and time and I declined.im not sure if the office manager Ms. Clay is aware this office is being ran in this unorganized fashion but it is not appreciated. I would appreciate if someone would reach out to me about this matter. I expected so much from this dentistry and was recommended by a friend and what I was told is untrue. Horrible Service

American Family Dentistry did not disclose they use dentists out of network so they can get away with charging $190 to recement a crown that took 10 minutes time. What a joke of a practice!

I have regular cleaning twice a year at my previous dentist. Because of change in insurance, I have to find a new dentist. First visit to American Family Dentistry - Germantown, they say I need deep cleaning, which cost me $250. Fine, I agreed to have it done. Scheduled me for a second visit within 3 weeks for a "regular cleanning". Fine, I showed up. This time, they told me that I have bone loss, so my insurance would not cover the full cost. Plan to charge me $50 for it. I had regular cleaning always free at my previous dentist. I cannot take this anymore. I left on the spot. Bottom line, I would not recommend this dentistry to anyone. I am trying out DentalWorks Memphis - Park Avenue. They have 260 reviews and score 4.8. Hope I have better luck there.

In my time at this location, which has been a lot over the 4 or 5 months, I have experienced a good bit of the front desk staff. Personally, I don't think they are very helpful or attentive. They do not greet you kindly when you walk in, and seem burdened if you ask them questions. The staff I have interacted with back in the rooms, specifically my hygienist have been great!!
