I went to Dr. Unkenholz for a second opinion on potential procedures I need. I'm so glad I did. He explained the procedures much better, and offered different options I hadn't heard yet. He and his staff were professional, caring, and encouraging. I would recommend his office to anyone looking for a great dentist. I had a broken (front tooth) and Dr. Eric and his staff brought me in the same day i called (Thursday). They were so caring and compassionate about my situation. Dr. Eric offered to get some work done at the lab they use and would come in the next day (Friday) when they aren't even open to fix my tooth. What great people these folks are. This is the best dentist, and dental office I have ever used. In addition earlier in the week my daughter and 3 grand kids had come in to see Dr. Eric based on my recommendation. They were so happy that they did. Their experience was great, and the 3 grand kids are now not apprehensive about seeing a dentist. My daughter says she has now found the dentist she plans on using anytime they need to be seen.

I shopped around for a good dentist when I moved to Rapid City ten years ago. Found a great dentist in Dr. Unkenholz and have been going to him ever since. He's very professional and personable and he always explains treatment options and guides toward what is best for me. And what a staff! Amy and Lisa both make teeth cleaning a pleasant experience, Trish makes the insurance side painless, and Carol always has a smile for arriving patients. They all provide the most positive experience and I feel like I'm reuniting with friends every time I walk through the door, and look forward to the next visit when I walk out. Thank you all!

Their extremely rude receptionist had my wife in tears. She completely lacked any sense of professionalism. We are a military family and we understand that most dental clinics will not accept our dental insurance. That is still no reason to be rude if we call and ask since they advertise the fact that they take military insurance on their website.

I highly recommend Dr. Unkenholz, his hygienists, and his office staff. They are extremely well-organized, take every effort to make one feel comfortable, and always have time to explain dental procedures. Beyond that, the office is modern, attract, bright, and cheerful with two video monitors in each exam room (including one on the ceiling) and a canister of quarters on the counter in case their parking lot is full and you have to park on the street!

I was originally impressed when I went for my own cleaning and exam- Lisa was my hygienist and she was wonderful, as was Dr. Eric. But it was with my daughter that I was overly floored with the service that was received. My daughter is 2 and this was her first dental exam, and it could not have gone more smoothly. Amy was absolutely amazing with her, and from the second she came and got her from the waiting room, my daughter was laughing and at ease with her. Dentist offices can be intimidating for many people- but especially children... and to have a staff that was SO overly kid-friendly and open was wonderful. I definitely would recommend Dr. Eric and his team to anyone, but especially those with children who are looking for a great place to make it less "scary" for them! As a military family, we always try to support our Guard family, and we are grateful for Dr. Eric's service as a military member, and for creating such a wonderful family-friendly environment in his civilian business as well.
