I came into town from Atlanta for a wedding and had one of my crowns pop out and swallowed it. In less than 24 hours I was in their office, a composite was made, and I left feeling like I was the most appreciated customer they have ever had. They are just fantastic! Great place. They make an effort of explaining the work that needs to be done, the prices, and how it impacts your insurance. The facility is clean, well lit, and no funny smells. The staff are all very friendly and always greet with a smile, they really make you feel like family. Would highly recommend.

They explained everything they were going to do, provided education regarding TMJ, and discussed what would happen at my future appointments. I've been a patient at this office for a little over a year. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this practice. The staff are all friendly and have done a great job of putting me at ease and making sure I'm comfortable. The front office staff even took it upon themselves to do some research on my insurance coverage and discovered that I can in fact have a much-needed implant covered, and referred me to Dr. Livson (part of their practice in a different office), who is excellent and will be providing the implant early next year. The hygenists are fantastic... thorough, personable, and not TOO aggressive. Dr. Kaufman is kind an inspires great confidence. I also very much appreciate that they offer appointments late in the afternoon, as this means I don't have to take time off from work. After a number of very negative experiences with other Rhode Island dentists, I am so thankful that I found Paolucci Family Dentistry!

These people do not deserve any stars. I came in for a wedding from out of town and had a throbbing toothache. These people were very unprofessional and insensitive. I paid almost 200 dollars for an X-Ray. To be told I have an abscess, mind you the dentist called the other workers into the room to discuss how bad it was. But then drilled a hole in my tooth to try to drain the abscess. I could have told him from the x-Ray that wasn't going to work because it was at the root of the tooth. They left me in more pain then I went in for and refused to give me any medicine for pain. In addition to having absolutely no compassion or sympathy they could have cared less that I left the office in tears. This place is a joke! I have never written a review and probably never will again but I hope through this that others won't waste their time and money on an uncaring staff and uneducated dentist.

Dr. Paolucci is all about the $$. He initially presented himself as caring & professional, even offering me a complimentary 1st visit if my insurance did not cover the visit (he did bill for that visit since I was covered.)He told me that he would consult during my 1st appt with the Periodontist, Dr. Livson who shares the office on a given day. He was not present. After my 2nd visit to the office when I saw Dr. Livson I had several questions, I had not been to a dentist in many yrs. & would be needing both extensive dental & periodontal care, due mostly to neglect. I called the office; the staff was unable to answer my questions & told me to call Dr. Paolucci. I spoke with him 2 or 3 times. He seemed annoyed by my confusion, some of which was due to my recent inexperience with dentists but some due to differing information I was getting from Dr. Paolucci & Dr. Livson. He said "Dr. Livson & I talked about your case for 3 hrs. If I knew this was going to be an insurance case I would have approached it differently." In the last of the conversations he stated "this is the last time we are going to talk about this." He then added "this is the plan & if you don't want to follow it, you should go somewhere else." I was well aware of the complicated care I needed but shaming me was unnecessary & counter-productive. My insurance company was giving me certain info, this office was giving me conflicting info. It was stressful dealing with this office but especially Drs. Paolucci & Livson who really did not seem to be on the same page or sure of their plan & goals. Also, they both spoke to me condescendingly; remindinding me that I had been irresponsible in my neglect (which I did not need to be reminded of.) They made it clear they did not want me as a patient. I found another dentist & periodontist. Both are caring, competent professionals. Both have said that although my past neglect may have been the primary contributing factor, we need to look to the future, not the past. They are working to save as many of my teeth as possible; Drs. Paolucci & Livson simply wanted to pull most if not all of my teeth & sell me dentures. When I asked about implants Dr. Paolucci tried to discourage me telling me that "many people start out saying they want implants & give up since it's a lengthy, expensive proposition." He said this even though I told him initially that I wanted implants, not dentures! After my mouth is healthy my current dentist & periodontist will discuss the final plan which will consist of several implants, as per my wishes. The 1 star was given for the dental assistant. This dentist & periodontist need to learn not to be so judgemental but rather professional, kind & helpful!

I went there for a root canal; dentist was nice. The problem is with the office staff and manager Maria. Two weeks later I called to get an emergency appointment because of severe pain. The manager gave me the appointment unfortunately I couldn't make it. So the following day I called again; they asked me to repeat my name like five times; then my last name; then to spell my name; they put me on hold for 10 min. Then I called asking for the manager and she told me: "we don't have people that speak Spanish here"; when I spoke to them in English (always), from the time I requested the first visit, fees, and the root canal appointment furthermore without any problem but with my accent. This woman was so rude; very offensive without saying : "I'm sorry ". If you speak English with accent don't waste your precious time with them". They wouldn't valued you as patient.

I was very grateful for the kindness shown to me by Dr. Haufman, Denise and the girls at the front desk. It was my first appointment and I went in with a broken tooth. Dr. Haufman and Denise took the time to explain all my options and answered all my questions. They could remove half of the tooth, which relieved the pain but had to refer me to an oral surgeon for the rest of the tooth. I received timely appointments for both procedures and the office they referred me to was equally professional and knowledgeable. I found the atmosphere at Dr. Paolucci's very calming and friendly. Even the patients waiting were very friendly so I felt that I had chosen the right place to continue my dental care.
