Like how she step by step , tell us the parents and our children , what she is going to do , before she does it . Everyone is always up lifting and respectful . I also love the childrens area , great upgrade and LOVE the fish tank . My son always goes up to it to look for Nemo and Friends lol really helps that the fish are colorful because as we sit and wait our turn , he is telling me the colors of the fish and the colors in the tank !!! My 3 year old daughter had her first visit today and I was blown away by the service we received. The front office staff was extremely welcoming and the reception area was clean and fun for my child. The staff is kind, gentle, and patient with my anxious 5-year-old. Watching Dr. Lavoie fill his cavity while my son struggled and screamed impressed me. Dr. Lavoie stayed completely calm, continued his work quickly, and took every opportunity to comfort my son by stroking his arm, which my son responds to. So grateful for this practice!

The Hygienist Carol, was fantastic. I told her, i needed to be out in 30 minutes due to an appointment i has next door. My daughter had to do an X-ray last minute, she told me to go and she will bring her to me. Next appointment, i will make sure to request her. She was awesome. Horrible experience taking my 4 year old son here. We were told by Dr. Drennon that he was going to need to be put under to complete all of the work that he "needed".... we were told that the ER had been scheduled so I took the time off of work, etc... when I didn't hear anything back as the surgery date neared, I gave them a call and they had no clue what I was talking about nor did they have any knowledge of an ER being booked for us. HORRIBLE experience and when I shared this with local friends (also moms) they all had similar stories of their children being over diagnosed and over-billed!! I will drive across the bridge next time if I have to.

Highly recommend! Dr. Drennon and her staff were friendly and compassionate. We just recently moved to RI and were looking for a new pediatric dentist for our 13 month old son and I'm very glad Dr. Drennon was on the list of providers for his insurance. Her office was very clean and organized and she was great with my son, even when he started getting fussy by the end of the visit. Definitely a 5-star pediatric dental practice!

Every time my family enters the practice my children are excited. Everyone of the staff seem to go out of their way to make kids feel comfortable and safe. They always answer all my questions. My children enjoy the waiting room and even more so, getting a ballon, a prize and at times a lollipop. The only negative thing I can say about Newport Pediatrics is the parking lot. My kids love their dentist I love their dentist! Keep up the great work!

As a local who used to come to this office when I was a child to see Dr. Kates, I was very happy to come back with MY child, now that I am a mother. The setting is familiar, but the whole office and waiting area have had a really nice makeover! Also, it is extremely clean, which I love. The kids seem to look forward to the dentist, especially since they get tokens, balloons and their little dental goodies after the appointment is over. The entire staff is pretty pleasant as well, and they make everyone feel at ease.

First time customer and absolutely loved my experience. The office was suited for younger and older kids with a great area and movie selection for the younger crowd. I loved the friendly staff that were patient and took their time to explain the questions, procedures that I may have and even the kids asked. They didn't force anything the kids didn't want to do, they demonstrated and let the kids test out the tools so they knew what was happening. At the end the kids received a gold coin for the prize machine and a giant balloon and a sticker which made the kids smile even brighter than when we walked in. Look forward for more visits here. The worst experience I have ever had with a doctors office. My son went in once (Dec of 2018) for x-rays and we waited until June 2019 for Dr. Drennon to fill my sons tooth. He went in once, and was very frightened due to it being his very first filling (needles, drills, etc. is very scary for a 5 year old). He waived his hands and told her to stop because it hurt. HE HAS A CUT ON HIS LIP where the clamp was to keep his mouth open due to it opening up his mouth too wide. The poor thing is HORRIFIED. The office called me the next day telling me she does not want him back in the office and she thinks "he would do better with a male doctor"(???) I would not recommend this office to ANYONE. I am appalled and would never let any friends or family go anywhere near this doctor.

One bad apple really spoils the whole bunch. With the exceptional 5.0 rating this office have, I find it unbelievable. Very incompetent and like to overlook basic oral hygiene needs on patients. Also pay close attention to your bills and know your EOB's esp if your MILITARY. I did heard they let go of the previous person that worked there. I hope that changes things.

They have such a lovely facility as well as the new renovations! My children love the beautiful fish tank along with a tastefully done waiting area, but not just for the adults their own!! They also always leave with a little prize. All of the details are AMAZING!!! Now my children look forward to going back for their visits:)

My experience with this dental practice was excellent. Even when I booked the appointment, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. And, the office had a nice play area for my daughter to wait for her turn, but we didn't need to wait very long--maybe five or ten minutes. My 3-year-old got a kick out of the television on the ceiling. We were there to have a tooth filled that our family dentist had tried to fill, but my daughter resisted. I have worked hard to get her to like going to doctors/ dentists. She sees the experience as fun. Dr Drennon has renewed my daughter's love for the dentist. I quickly saw the difference in approach to my toddler. Dr Drennon's extra training for handling the needs of young patients is apparent. Whenever the dentist explained a new tool, she related it to a familiar item that isn't scary. With the help of laughing gas, my young one sailed through her first filling with flying colors. And, even the hygienists share this extra training and mindset. My daughter needed X-rays using bite-wings, and the hygienist was so patient with her, working to explain how she had to keep the wings in place. Her favorite part was receiving a token for the prize dispenser--there were 8 to choose from! Now, she keeps asking me when we can go back! Thank you for making a visit to the dentist a pleasant and fun experience!
