I really don't like to leave a bad review, but my experience here was extremely negative and I hope I can save another parent from a similar situation. Dr. Ganim should not advertise that he is a pediatric dentist, as he has absolutely no patience for a child with even a precautionary attitude about dentistry. Switching dentists after moving, I chose Dr. Ganim's office because of their great reviews. While in the waiting room, I heard Dr. Ganim tell another mother that he couldn't fill her child's cavity because he didn't know if she would cooperate. The mother pushed back and Dr. Ganim said they would make her another appointment and revisit the situation. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I realize I should've walked out at that moment. When called in my son was extremely cooperative, polite, engaging. After less than 1 minute in the chair Dr. Ganim pulled me aside and said he couldn't treat my son. When I asked why, he explained that he put his hand near his face for a moment and asked what tool Dr. Ganim was using, and this was a behavior he couldn't work with. I was absolutely dumbfounded. A question and a moment of nervousness at a brand new dentist is a write off? He must have read my son's chart and saw he was on the spectrum because his next sentence was "You must be doing a great job though because that's not what you picture when you think of a kid with Autism, he seems like a normal kid" ...... Lesson learned, never write that on an intake form, ever again. My son didn't stand a chance in that office before he even sat in the chair. He has had fillings and a tooth extraction, as well as a spacer put in with his previous dentist without issue, but a question and a hand near his mouth makes him untreatable here? After I challenged him, he said he could "give it a shot". I told him I had no desire for him to treat my son after he told me he didn't have confidence in being able to do so and that we would go elsewhere. He said not to worry, that he wouldn't charge me for the visit - the entire minute we spent in the chair after 20 in the waiting room. Thanks for that, I guess. We went down the road to MILESTONE PEDIATRICS where we have had an amazing experience.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Dr. Ganim was brutally honest and I was very appreciative of that. I'm one of the lucky ones with good genes (at least when it comes to teeth) but I take that for granted and should take better care of them and he kindly, but blatantly, told me so. Went in the next day for a cleaning and Cecile was also wonderful. She reminded me how I could take better care of them, cleaned my teeth better in 45 minutes than my last dentist did with novocain and 2 hrs, and with a lot less pain and bleeding. My teeth felt clean and fresh and I had no discomfort during or after the cleaning. In fact, I'm pretty sure it helped some swelling go down from a wisdom tooth issue I've been having. The ladies at the desk were all pleasant and very willing to help me set up an appt with an oral surgeon. I hate doctors and doctors' offices (as a patient I mean, nothing against doctors personally) and dentists are no exception, but the art on the wall in the exam rooms and the atmosphere make it all quite bearable.

Dr. Ganim is perhaps the most competent dentist there is. The story of what led me to him is definitely too long to tell here. The final outcome of my situation was the least of what I wanted. However, from the very moment I stepped my feet in that office, I felt at peace. For the first time in my dental life, I was treated like a person and not like an insurance claim. Everyone at this office is professional and very compassionate. Dr. Ganim listened and explained everything in layman's terms. He went above and beyond to ease my pain and find the root cause of the issue. When it seemed like there isn't much he can do to put a stop to my pain, he pointed me to the right direction. Give them a try, there's a very high chance you'll have a better dental experience here.
