Ponderosa Dental is a very professional, modern and patient-friendly practice. Dr. Berkner and his staff are very competent and personable. Their equipment and procedures are the latest. Last night I pulled out a crown while eating a piece of taffy. After calling Dr.Berkner for advice he insisted that I meet him at the clinic this morning (Saturday his day off) so that he could fix my dental problem.

He started with a free consultation to go over my options and make sure I was making the right decision, then prepping/ installation on temp. bridge, and then installing the final product. I've been coming to this practice for my dental care for many years, including back when it was owned and operated by a different dentist, Dr. Evans. My husband is a Marine and we have lived all over the country- six moves in five years, in fact - but I keep coming back to this practice on my return visits to Oregon because I enjoy the quality of care that I receive here. I'll come back to visit family for a little bit over a week and schedule my cleaning for early in the week, and if I need any work above and beyond the normal cleaning (fillings, etc) they are always able to get me in again before I leave Oregon. They are so friendly here. They stay on top of the latest developments in the dental hygiene world and do an excellent job at explaining why they do everything they do. Their pricing is very reasonable, and they stand behind their work. I have sealants on my molars and premolars since I'm prone to getting cavities there in spite of my best efforts at preventative care, and if one of the sealants becomes chipped or damaged, they always replace it for free like it's no big deal. I've also started taking my daughter here. She saw them for the first time just before her third birthday and again at three and a half years old. On both occasions I couldn't have been more pleased with the time and attention the staff devoted to my daughter. Many doctors tend to focus more on the parent than the child and rush through appointments, but that's not the case here. They give her their full attention and are so patient with reassuring her if she's nervous and explaining what they're going to do in way that's not frightening to her. They're creative about getting what they need to do done and keeping the fun in the experience for little ones. I highly recommend this dentist!

I have spent a lot of time in the dental chair at one of the big box dentists getting an implant and every time i always felt that they were trying to get me to upgrade what i was doing in order to make them more money versus getting me what was needed. After the second failed bone graft and getting the implant removed they wanted to jump right back in and place another when there wasn't much bone left in that area. It would have probably failed again. The team at Ponderosa dental went through the options and recommended what made the most sense and were really friendly and courteous to the situation i am in. I look forward to continue my procedures with them and future teeth cleanings.

I took my 94 yr old grandmother in to see Dr. Berkner. The Dr. and his staff are very friendly, honest, upfront and easy to talk to. They have treated my grandmother with care, kindness, and respect. We have never felt rushed. They have listened and responded well to her anxiety and concerns( which she has many LOL ). They have only recommended minimal, necessary dental work on my grandmother which is great as we have not felt pressured into anything. I feel we can talk openly with this dentist, which is an important quality in a medical professional. So far, we are very happy with ponderosa dental arts. Aside from that, I also had some dental questions and concerns. I was able to get an honest non-biased second opinion on my own dental situation answered quickly and at an affordable cost. The only downside to ponderosa is that they don't accept oregon health plan dental insurance. I am on OHP, and would be going to ponderosa regularly if I was covered there. I like them better than my OHP dentist! :)

I was a little nervous when I got to the office, but the second I stepped through the door was made at ease. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I was given several options to choose from and each was explained in detail. I am getting full dentures followed by snap in implants by the way. This day I was getting my upper arch done. I was amazed at how painless this part was. No pain when the teeth were pulled and the doctor described each step very well. I can't believe I am saying this but I can't wait to go back for my lower arch. Rates are very reasonable and the accounting team walks you through the insurance part very well. I give 6 stars. Friendly staff in a nice office. They are are attentive to details. They have the latest equipment. They provide great periodontal cleaning. The only issues I noticed were they are open just four days per week and have more than the usual number of policy papers to sign, which has not been much of a problem. I was devastated to learn from my dentist that my bridge had to be removed and I was going to need implants. I researched other dentists in the area that did implants. I found Ponderosa Dental Arts in Oregon City. From the consultation early this year until my final appointment yesterday to place the implants I can say they were wonderful. Their implant pricing is very reasonable compared to others and the process was so simple I still cannot believe it. I have had crowns, root canals and of course that bridge years ago and I expected an implant to be worse. Visits were not painful. I am so surprised how easy it was considering what they are actually doing by adding implants into your bone. Dr. Berkner and his assistants are super nice and the office is extremely clean. I know implants are expensive and that honestly is the worse part having to pay for it but teeth are important! I highly recommend Dr. Berkner at Ponderosa Dental Arts.

Going to the dentist is usually not anyone's favorite activity, but I never have any worries because this dental office is fabulous. The atmosphere is friendly and the care is superior. I just had 2 crowns put in and you can't even tell they are not real teeth. I have never felt pain or discomfort with any procedure because the staff always makes sure you are well numbed up. I recently just got some mouth work done here though and by far they top any big place... they are friendly, fast, and pain free! I highly recommend Ponderosa Dental Arts. Dr. Berkner and his team are very professional and helpful even with my anxiety about dental work. I went in with a broken filling and knowing I would need a crown, possible two. He was thorough with what I needed to have done but also conservative in not wanting to push extra work that wasn't needed. The office staff was able to quickly get me an appointment time and that Dr. Berkner could see and treat me that day. Only had to come back to have the permanent crown placed. Woohoo! After moving to the area 7 years ago and trying three other dentists, I finally found a dentist I want to stay with. The whole crew at Pondarosa dental is awesome. The ladies at the front desk are super helpful and never give me trouble billing my insurance. The hygienist is really good, which is actually the most important part to me. She uses a baking soda spray to buff instead of that weird grinder thing. Also, they have paintable fluoride that is so much better than the trays. My folks now go to Pondarosa dental as well. They are super relieved because they've had a lot of dental work done and need a skilled dentist. If you're looking for a dentist you'd be smart to give this office a try!

Terrible service. I have no idea why this place has 5 stars. Only one dentist who’s bouncing back and forth with several patients. Had to wait to get my root canal finished, stuck with my mouth open because he was talking with another patient about invisalign. Also gave me inaccurate estimates about what the procedure would cost so now I have to pay out of pocket more than I already have. Never coming here again and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been working with various dentists throughout the years. Recently, I started seeing Dr. Eric Berkner at Ponderosa Dental. First and foremost, the staffs at the office are extremely friendly, professional and ready-to-help. They're always there to aid with whatever needed. This probably is due to how Dr. Berkner runs the office. He always seems very nice to the staffs. I have yet seen a "conflict" between him and his staffs every time I have a visit. Everyone just seems happy to be there to give the patients the best possible dental care. The saying "happy staffs better service" does hold true here. So far, I am extremely pleased with the service I've gotten from Dr. Berkner. He's thorough and skillful with dentistry. He definitely is taking his time going over every nook and cranny, and explaining every detail of dental care, and only recommends necessary procedures. Last but not least, the office is well updated with some latest technological equipment so I am sure to get whatever dental care needed there onsite. Overall, I am very happy to be his patient and would highly recommend you all to try the office and dental services provided by Dr. Berkner at Ponderosa.

I know what people think about going to the Dentist. I know more than most due to an early accident that made me go to the dentist many many times. I began to really dislike going because they were never really fun and it usually ended with me in pain and lots of money gone, just to do it all over again. Not a great plan. However, I do know that going to the dentist is very important, on so many different levels, so my wife and I made sure our kiddos go. We have been looking for a non judgmental, friendly and helpful, just a place we feel comfortable. Well, it took us a while to find it but find it we did. Dr. Eric and the entire staff have been amazingly nice, helpful and most importantly, they did not judge my few cavities I had. They made sure that i was not in pain, comfortable and they didn't waste my time. All in all, I am very pleased with Ponderosa Dental Arts and I will spread the word.

I went into Ponderosa to have a teeth cleaning. I was extremely impressed with the techniques they use there. I have never had a cleaning so painless in my life. After meeting with Dr. Berkner we discussed a cavity I had. I was able to set up an appointment with ease. The filling was a breeze no pain and very fast. I was in and out in less than an hour. I was flossing on a Saturday morning when my gold crown came off. Not a horrible emergency, but I was leaving the next day for a week trip to Haiti to work with kids in an Orphanage . The staff at Ponderosa Dental was incredible. We took our son in for his first ever appointment and they eased him into everything. He left with a smile on his face and tells everybody about getting his teeth cleaned. My wife and I had skipped making dental appointments for a few years due to a fear of the experience, but the team there made it perfect. As senior patients that Dr. Berkner inherited when he acquired the dental practice, we are very well pleased with the transition. We like it that Dr. Berkner tells us what he sees going on with our dental needs which have changed as we have gotten older, the possible options and then his recommendation for what would most likely be the best procedure. Although we have not participated in being able to get a crown (not gold) prepped and seated in a one day appointment, for working people, I think this would be a very time saving reason for choosing Ponderosa Dental Arts besides the office is clean, the staff professional (but friendly, insurance knowledgeable), and the periodontal cleanings are superb. Also, the parking is good at the hitching post on the Ponderosa but we are still looking for Adam, Hoss, Little Joe and Ben Cartwright but who knows maybe they will need dental work soon also.

Dr. Berkner and his staff are amazing! Before I started going to him, I had a major fear of going to the dentist. So out of fear I prolonged dental work that needed to be done. Dr. Berkner and his staff put my mind at ease and talked me through everything that they were doing. I have always been one to dread going to the dentist. I do it every six months because I know I need to, but it's always with apprehension and anxiety. I was referred to Ponderosa Dental Arts and hoped it might be different than my past experiences. I'm so glad I made the move - this is a great office!! From an incredibly warm welcome to a hygienist that helped me stay calm and collected to a doctor that was very friendly and knowledgeable - this office was far beyond what I thought the dentist could be. I found out while I was there that I had to have a cavity filled. My husband and friend were telling me what to expect and that some pain (from the shots) and annoying sounds would be expected. I experienced none of that!!! Dr. Berkner did an outstanding job!! Ponderosa Dental is an amazing addition to Oregon City and Dr. Berkner is a fabulous dentist with a wonderful team!!! I highly recommend this practice to anyone in Oregon City and surrounding areas that need a new dentist!!
