I went here on the recommendation of a colleague 10 years ago, and I keep going back because I love Tiffany my hygienist. I saw Dr Rice, who retired, but Dr. Hall is kind and friendly as well. I struggle with the pricing when I need work since they don't network with any insurance companies (so I get balance billed for what insurance didn't cover, and they refer to a pricy endodontist also). But they are ethical in their recommendations and I get great care. Which is more than I can say for past dentists I've seen. Did I mention I love Tiffany?? It's actually /almost/ fun to go for cleanings because of her.

This is perhaps the best dental clinic I used in the Portland area. Very good customer service - doing everything they can to accomodate your insurance plans. The doctor and assistants are very nice and gentle. They work carefully and offer a lot of useful details in the process. I used other locations because of the distance (live in Hillsboro) but if I want quality - I drive the long way to see Laurelwood dental.

I had a regular cleaning/checkup at Laurelwood. Appreciated the persistence of the Laurelwood staff who kept me on a standby list for open appointsments so I was seen much sooner than originally scheduled. The appointment itself was efficient, and the hygienist and dentist were careful to cover all the bases as I was a new patient. I am not originally from Portland and I learned quite a bit about why the dental community is no fan of the anti-fluoride water policy out here. I do wish there was another location that was a bit more accessible but that's not a major concern seeing as I only intend to visit Laurelwood twice a year. I don't know any reason why I would not continue to frequent Laurelwood Dental.

I lucked in to moving to a place a block away, and could not be happier with Tiffany and the experience I've had at Laurelwood. My babies sat on my lap during cleanings, and now, even though there's a "pediatric dentist" right next door, I bring my kids to Laurelwood for all their cleanings. It is literally the highlight of their day to go to the dentist - they have so much fun! I cannot recommend them enough.

If you can believe it, I really enjoy going. -They have excellent customer service. Their desk staff is friendly, patient, and informative. I get text reminders for my appointments. Love it! -My hygienist is sweet, informative and through. I enjoy going to see her, she is gentle with my gums/teeth but gets every spot sparkling clean! -I have seen both dentists and really like each of them. I feel like I have never been "sold" something that I did not medically need. This has happened to me at OTHER dental offices, and I have paid for it in sensitive teeth. I truly trust these doctors opinions, feel informed by their recommendations, and am never left feeling ashamed that I didn't floss (only highly encouraged). -Space- They have a lovely clean office and all their dental chairs face out the window into the trees. Pretty nice.

I’ve been coming to this office for about 25 years. I’ve always been pleased with my treatment. I’m always greeted with a friendly smile and I never have to wait past my designated time. The hygienist I use Lisa, is efficient and complete. A particular thing I like about her is she doesn’t try to make conversation with me while she’s working on my teeth. I used to see Dr. Rice, but he retired and now I see Dr. Hall. I completely respect his opinion and trust that I am in good hands. Hall and Edwards gradually as Dr. Rice retired. The dental teams are professional, friendly and communicative about processes and procedures. I've never felt led astray. I don't have dental insurance, so finding the right dentist was like a needle in a haystack. I had ALL of Portland to chose from. I'm so deeply grateful I landed at Laurelwood dental. My dentist, Dr. Edwards, has consistently gone above and beyond to give me the most amazing, attentive, generous care I've ever received. I originally came in with a half-finished implant (I started treatment in Europe). He researched what kind of system I'd been given, and what US counterpart could possibly work with it. I just got my first crown, and it was BY FAR the easiest crown I've ever had (and I have had more than several). There was no temporary. They fit it then and there, fired it in the oven, and it was done. I was eating an hour later. I can't tell you how much I love my dentist (well, I guess I can try). He is a stellar human, and every assistant I have had (including the front desk people) seem so genuinely nice and helpful and sympathetic. OH, and when I was doing a stocking stuffer drive for the homeless they gave me boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste. Not to mention the homemade jars of cookie-making ingredients they give out at Christmas! Seriously, you can't go wrong. GO!

**** Follow up to my last post from April, 2019 (see below) - my 2 year old had his first official cleaning today and Tiffany and the team at Laurelwood continue to wow our family! He got to watch her clean my teeth (while she explained everything to him in am amazing kid-centered way) and then he was so excited for it to be his team that he hopped right up in the chair, ready to go! We can't say enough good things about Laurelwood, but I adore them even more now that our little one is a patient there is well. In an unrelated note, I really appreciate their educational approach, always trust their ethics, and know that we can trust them when they say it is time for a procedure. My husband and I have always loved the staff and care at Laurelwood Dental (very relationship based, clear about costs, thoughtful about recommendations, very caring, etc.), but hygienist Tiffany FAR exceeded our expectations this morning! We brought our toddler (almost 22 months old) to my cleaning as an introduction to dental appointments and he got to sit in the chair with me, see and touch a lot of the cleaning equipment, push the buttons to raise and lower the exam chair, help suction the water from my mouth as she polished my teeth, and so much more! Tiffany is always a delight, but she was AMAZING today and I feel 100% confident that he will be ready for his first official teeth cleaning. I love their approach to caring for our entire family, their proactive education to us as new parents on dental health for our little one, and their embracing our little guy!

This is a great practice. Two really good dentists, Dr. Hall and Dr. Edwards, and four hygienists. I've seen Mike, a hygienist , for cleanings for years. They practice a kind of conservative dentistry at Laurelwood, which I appreciate, knowing when immediate intervention is necessary and knowing when a tooth has a little more life in it, and always including the patient in the plan. Also understanding when it comes to financial restrictions (they don't try to guilt or force you into going through a procedure you can't comfortably afford). Laurelwood Dental has been great! I have used them for all of my dental care and prevention for many years and they always have treated me with kindness, respect and friendliness. I prefer a dentist that is transparent about fees and procedures. Laurelwood lets you know what, if any things need to be taken care of right away and what can be watched. They're happy to give estimates (in writing) and explain what types of things will impact the final price. Never once have I felt that my penny pinching ways are a pain. The staff in the front have helped me figure out my insurance several times! This helps me utilize my insurance and prepare for my out of pocket expenses. I love that there are not any flossing lectures and all of my interactions with the staff have been professional and helpful. I also appreciate that they stay on schedule. I can't remember ever waiting for more than just a few minutes. I know how hard that can be! Overall, Laurelwood has the experience, staff and atmosphere I like in a dental office.

Things were relatively fine - until they’ve billed me twice per mistake and charged me for a comprehensive oral check when in reality the only thing the dentist did was ask me about the filling he’s previously done.. very disappointed. Also, the hygienist who did the deep cleaning was using the same dirty tool on every tooth when she should wipe it off before moving to the next tooth - she was basically moving the plaque from one tooth to another.. It looks like they offer some rewards for positive reviews, so don’t get too excited about all those stars on the other reviews.

I used to hate the dentist...REALLY hate the dentist. So much so, I didn't see one for nearly 10 years. Not anymore! I have been a regular patient at Laurelwood dental for probably 20 years. Dr. Rice (now retired) and Dr. Hall have always treated me with respect, a gentle hand, excellent technique and good humor. I am never pressured to undergo procedures, their referrals to specialists are spot-on and Tiffany gets the award for Best Hygienist Ever. I was referred by a co-worker and now I think half of my office goes there. Excellent staff, no hassles, convenient location. (I missed a meeting today because I had an appointment for a cleaning, and truthfully the dentist was waaayy better than the meeting!)

I had to go have an annual cleaning today and was very anxious about it. I mentioned this to Brittany, who definitely went above and beyond to make sure that this experience was as relaxing as possible. She heated up a neck pillow for me, got me a blanket, and made sure the rinse water was warm. It's the little things like that that make me keep going back there. In my opinion that makes them worth every penny. I love Laurelwood Dental and their staff!

Tiffany is the best hygienist and we love seeing Dr. Hall! Laurelwood is not listed as a "pediatric" dentist but they (specifically Tiffany) are AMAZING with our children. We have a 5 year old who was crying on his birthday because I DID NOT make an appointment for him to go to the dentist for his birthday! We also have 2 year old twins who are a little shy but really needed to see the dentist. Tiffany has been so kind letting us bring the kids for chair rides and watch mom, dad and brother have their teeth cleaned. I know that the next visit they are going to be more than ready for their next cleaning. No tears seeing the dentist when you go to Laurelwood! I just have to say it once more.... Tiffany is the best hygienist there is! :-)
