I have very high anxiety about the dentist and pain. I of course told them : / They assured me that I was in great hands with Dr. Haynie. I was not sure. I have never gone to a dentist that says " I'm not going to give you any pain" and actually follow through..from beginning to end. I recently had a long surgical procedure removing some teeth to be replaced with several implants performed by Dr. Madden. I was amazed how smoothly the surgical procedure progressed. Dr. Madden's professional attitude and skills helped me feel very confident under his care. It's still hard to believe that I incurred no pain throughout this procedure. It's been over a month and have no complaints what so ever. Any adjustments that have been necessary have been address in a timely and professional manner. The caring staff, state of the art equipment, awesome hygienists and dentists make going to the dentist very enjoyable. Even my 8 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter love having their teeth cleaned. Today, Dr. Haynie made my daughters day when he made her a dog out of a balloon. Pretty awesome that she has such a positive experience at the dentist at such a young age. I paid my The Dalles dentist >$100 to learn he couldn’t fo a crown under 2018 insurance because the lab took 10 days to make a crown. HR Dental took me in thar afternoon and in 2 hours had me fixed up with a permanent crown. Their office staff eas super and they charged much less than The Dalles. I am changing dentists

After Snyder had to retire the place hasn't been the same (he was great). The rude arrogance of the dentists make me sick. The overcharged and overrated experience left something to be desired. They always make the situation worse than it really is, which in return is more money being spent, they famously overcharged for things...After a second opinion, 95% of what HR dental said needed to be done was unfounded. I gave them 2 chances after Dr. Snyder left....it was a mistake.

had the same trusted dentist for 15 years back in Pennsylvania and was very nervous about finding a new one when we moved out here. This office went above and beyond my expectations. My first visit was for a regular cleaning with the dental hygienist Nancy. She was very friendly and professional. The second visit was for a crown on my front tooth (which had been knocked out then put back in years ago and was becoming brittle). Being that it was my front tooth I was very nervous. Dr. Andy did an absolutely amazing job on my tooth. He matched the color and shape of my old tooth perfectly. You can't even tell this one is fake. They even had Netflix on the ceiling and head phones to block out the drill sounds! This is the place to go!

I just got 3 cavities filled by their Solea Laser, I had heard about it but not from people who had actually used it before. I was your Guinne Pig, and I must say it is %1000 better than regular fillings. No numbing! which for me is huge because I have a terrible needle phobia. Dr. Gonzalez was amazing and everyone was very nice and catering to my needs, I even got to watch tv. If you’re thinking about the laser and you’re on the fence about it, just try it! If you hate it they’ll numb you up and do it the old fashion way! I am going back for more filling with the Solea soon.

I was seeing Haney Jr. since he "specializes" on TMD, this was self proclaimed. He made me a night guard that only made things way worse, I had to go several times to get my night guard adjusted and my jaw pain and headaches got worse and worse. I ended up buying a night guard at Walmart and that worked better for me. I got my money back from Haney's but it was a really bad experience. Thanks to his night guard my open bite is worse and now I have to get braces.

When Dr. Curtis Haynie was recommended to us 6 or 7 years ago, he was described to us as "a perfectionist ." My experience has been that this is true. Dr. Haynie is by far the best dentist who has ever provided care for me in my 67 years. I trust his judgement and skill implicitly, so much so that last month I arranged for him to do 4 crowns on the same day. With the most modern equipment, Dr. Haynie does the prep work, creates the crowns at his offices and mounts them the same day so there is no need for multiple visits. My previous experience with other providers is that some adjustment is often needed to ensure even a single crown is exactly shaped to fit with the surrounding and opposing teeth, and I thought that with 4 crowns in 3 different areas, at least some small adjustment would be needed this time. It was not. A month on, there has been no need for any adjustment of any kind - every crown was perfectly made and installed. Dr. Haynie is an artist at his craft and I consider myself extremely fortunate to be his patient. I recommend him unreservedly to anyone searching for a dental care provider. January 24, 2019 followup. The staff at Hood River Dental was, during this visit and as always, ultimately professional and provided exceptional service. This was a semiannual cleaning and exam, so I had no actual dental work done. It was my first experience with Dr. Gonzales, who conducted the brief exam part of the visit. He seemed pleasant and professional but, since I did not need any actual dental work, I can’t yet evaluate the quality of his work. My wife and I have been long time patients of Dr. Haynie and we deeply regret losing his amazing dental services when he severed his preferred provider relationship with our insurance carrier, Blue Cross. Dr. Haynie is more than just a highly skilled dental professional; he is a perfectionist, an artist in his work. Since Dr. Gonzales will be taking over from Dr. Haney care of patients in this practice who are covered by Blue Cross, we should be able in the future to provide an evaluation of his dental work.

The only star I'm leaving is because the pictures in the waiting room are beautiful. I made an appointment because I was in pain after a chunk of molar chipped. They said they had time for me Friday AM so I rearranged my busy work schedule to make time to be seen. Once I got there they gave me x-rays that I specifically said I did not want . After the dentist Came in for the consult they sent me away because they ran out of time for treatment and told me I would have to come back after the weekend. Then they charged me $145 the xray (again I didn't want the X-rays in the first place). And sent me on my way. I will never be back.

I can't say enough good things about the incredible staff at Hood River Dental. From the moment I walk in the door I feel like I am a part of a family. Dana or Bonnie greet me like an old friend. I am always brought back promptly, and rarely spend time waiting for my appointment. After walking through the lobby door, I usually bump into Sasha (if she isn't the one I am there to see for my 6 month cleaning and checkup) - she is one of the kindest most energetic people around, not to mention funny - oh and she is the best hygienist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The entire team of dental assistants/hygienists are top notch, friendly, warm and a delight to be around. Then there are the docs. These guys are Top Gun certified, just like Maverick. Any time I have had a normal check up, filling, or any other kind of more involved dental procedure - I am continually blown away by the professionalism, skill and extremely happy customer glow I have every time I leave or arrive at the office. Most recently Dr. Haynie, or Dr. Haynesaurus Rex as I fondly call him, repaired a nagging cavity and dialed in my bite so perfectly that I couldn't even tell where the work had been done. He takes my smile and how i feel about myself seriously. They all do. How about we talk about the two dental implants these guys have done for me? Dr. Madden, or Dr. M, has helped me truly get my smile back. Having a missing tooth for so many years, and then dialing in the perfect treatment plan, placement and final dental implant - left me feeling like smiling all the time. I'm smiling as I'm typing this...I simply can't stop! Beyond my smile, I am able to chew more easily on the left side of my mouth again, alleviating all that strain from chewing only on the right side for so long. Top to bottom these people, these friends as they have become, have opened their office doors as well as their hearts to me and my family. They care about me, they care about my dental health and general well being. They are excited when my name is on the schedule, just as I am glad to be on it. There are many choices for dentists here in Hood River and the greater Gorge area, and in my mind there is only one choice...Hood River Dental. Hood River Dental has provided my mouth with the most professional, high-tech, pain-free and amazing experience. I showed up for my first appointment due to a recommendation from a good friend, but she failed to mention all of the amenities. During my two visits, one for a standard cleaning and one for a crown, I felt absolutely pampered. These professionals paid attention to every detail, starting with the offering of ibuprofen at the beginning of my visit. They explained every step along the way. During the more serious and lengthy procedure I was offered television on the ceiling with headphones. I did not even feel the shot (usually the most horrific part of the process). Thank you, Doc Madden. I warned of my very sensitive gag reflex and the lovely Dental Assistant, Lety, was creatively attentive to my needs at every step of the way. Shout out to Lety! Their fantastic high tech procedures were shown to me as they designed a new crown for me using incredible innovative software. I could not have been more pleased with my experience. Wow!

It’s been a year since I wrote my review and I still stand by it. Lety & Dr. Andy, thank you SO MUCH. I never felt one bit of that shot!! Not even a little. Thanks for making it a pain free experience. Again. Appointments are kept on time but in the rare event that someone is behind, Dana pays attention and let's you know what's going on. Dr. Andy is warm and caring and does a good job listening and doing what is needed. Nancy keeps my teeth sparkly and the reception ladies are all great!

I have never experienced oral health care like I have at Hood River Dental! Right away when you walk in there is friendly, competent staff to greet you and answer questions. My hygienist Julia is professional and makes the appointments breeze by and if you're good she will even let you pick out which pandora station you listen to. Another impressive thing I should mention is the use of technology that they use to enhance your experience and help your learning. It's one thing to hear someone saying, one, two, two, three, three, four, blah blah blah. It's another thing to then visually see all your teeth on a screen and have that AHA moment, that's where I am not flossing or that's where I could be brushing better. Not only that, you can compare and track your progress over time. I personally feel very motivated to see less red in my chart and more greens! Luckily I haven't had any cavities yet so I can't speak too much the Dentist side of things but every time Dr. Haynie comes in he is very approachable and takes time to explain answers to my questions in a way that suits his audience. I highly recommend this office. I think they even set the bar for how a dental practice should be in Portland. (Yes, I commute over an hour just to come have my teeth cleaned here!) I believe in the staff and the high quality of care I receive here makes it worth it!

Overall, my experience with Hood River Dental was great. The doctors and staff are very pleasant and professional, and the procedure (a double wisdom tooth extraction) was completely painless and cheaper than expected. I would've given 5 stars, but I subtracted one because my appointment was rescheduled 3 hours before it was to take place, having been set up 2 weeks earlier. They had scheduled me with the doctor who diagnosed me, but he doesn't do extractions. They were able to get me in only 3 hours later than my original appointment with another doctor, so it wasn't a huge hassle, but still aggravating. Like I said, overall a great experience, but with one hiccup. Will go back again for any dental needs in the future.

Outstanding dental care. I am 3000 miles from home and needed care for a hot tooth. I needed a root canal and crown but I suspected that before the visit. The dentist and staff did an excellent job of informing me of every step. They practice pain free procedures. The dentist's skill exceeded the skill of dentists who gave me four other crowns. Dr Madden was the dentist and Leticia was the technician. I would 100 percent endorse this practice.

Best dental experiences ever with Dr. Haynie and Dr. Snyder. This clinic is hands down the best, most professional, most well organized dental clinic I've ever been to. They are prompt and professional. They have all the modern equipment like digital xrays, before and after digital photos, fancy chairs with television to watch during treatment, whitening and so on... What impressed me most was the level of skill of the dentists. I have been seen there twice for emergency care from having teeth broken and both times they were able to fix me, good as new, same day as my injury. All of their staff was very professional and friendly. A strong A+ recomendation to the best dental clinic in Hood River!
