If I could give them 0 stars today, I would. My kids first visit 6mo ago was amazing. However, it appears if you aren’t a first time patient, they don’t care about you. My (barely) 3 year old and my 5 year old were left waiting for 20+ min today while the Dr. was in a treatment. Staff didn’t communicate this to me until I asked. I have a new baby at home, a full time job and 2 restless kids l... I ended up leaving before the doctor came in and the staff was TERRIBLE. I won’t be returning. I find it most outrageous that the staff ran out to my car to hand me an $1800 estimate for dental work when the dentist didn’t even come in and talk to me after my three-year-old was seen.

Dr. James and his staff are wonderful. They take great care of my children and that is evident by how healthy their teeth are. My children have been coming to Dentistry for Kids since they were toddlers. I have a preteen and a teen and they still asked to come early so they have time to hang out in the reception area. So many cool things. During their teeth cleaning and exam they can a watch a movie. I wish Dentistry for Kids was around when I was child.

My kids loved this place! Honestly such an amazing experience. The kids get to play with toys before their appointment, watch a movie during, get a balloon after, have their picture taken, and get a prize. All the staff was very knowledgeable and well mannered!

We had to move from Portland but I remember this dentist from three years ago. He is the best in the entire Country! We are in Indiana now and I would consider returning to Portland just to go back to Dr. Dustin. First the office is incredible like nothing your children have ever seen he should specialize in pediatric dental design worldwide! Second he is the nicest and most gentle dentist ever, excellent with kids. Third his staff is sooo friendly, fun, outgoing and great with kids. By far the best pediatric dentist in the USA.

My 2 kids started with Dr Dustin James in 2007, when my daughter was 3 and my son was 5. They are teenagers now and it’s still a huge enjoyment to go to the dentist. Who can say that? Over a decade of loving our experience. Dr James could not be more kind and gentle during appointments. I’ve always told people his office is like going to a Pottery Barn inside Disneyland. If we ever got our dates wrong we’d just stay and play for a bit. There is something for every age. During appointments you get to watch a movie of your choice on a big screen hanging above you. So, long appointments seem shorter. I begged them for years to get an adult dentist and they did! So I’ve gotten to go there for years now too! Dr. Okerstrom is amazing! We’ve always Loved the dental hygienists as well. Could not have had a better experience since 2007 with this dentist office! I More than highly recommend.

I have been taking my twins here for years! The entire staff is wonderful! Dr. James is so patient with my son who has Autism and even talks about video games with him to keep him calm. Both kids are well entertained with all the fun activities in the waiting room and in the exam rooms as well.

Never have problems. Love the dental facility. Hate to complain, but feel as customer being billed extra money after the service and after the upfront charges were paid, need to speak up. Over $100 is a financial hardship to many. And the woman who does billing doesn’t take any responsibility for the fact patient was told what charges would be for dental service and in good faith went ahead and has service done. Now have to deal with extra bill. Will go elsewhere when work has to be done. Can’t afford these mishaps or the fact billing department doesn’t take responsibility. Even after other worker mentioned writing it off. Whoever handles billing here allows no deviation whatsoever. And it appears no where to take complaint and come up with a fair resolution for patient who feels duped.

We love going to Dr. James' office. Our children now aged 6 & 9 can't wait to go to the dentist, they've been patients for about 3 yrs now. Dr. James & his staff are exceptional. A calm & caring environment with intelligent and professional staff... just go and see for yourself. Dr. James is quality, he is considerate, rational, down-to-earth, empathetic, and sensible. The office environment is peaceful with inventively-fun themed rooms and areas, this place will bring joy to your child's heart (and yours) when they go. I can not say enough!

We love coming here! We've been seeing Dr. James since my daughter was old enough to see a dentist - so about five years now. Beyond routine care, Dr. James has seen us through a couple of dental emergencies with the best results. His staff are friendly and professional.My daughter looks forward to her dentist appointments, so much so that we always come a little early so she can play diner, or chef, or trains, or dollhouse, or games on the iPad. Now that she's a little older, she also enjoys some (supervised) time in the teen lounge with the bigger iPads and arcade games. We both enjoy the themed exam rooms and choice of movies to watch. I wish my dentist's office was this great.

Our recent visit here with my 2 yr old exceeded our expectations. From the waiting room with it's plethora of toys and iPads, to the friendly staff we had an amazing experience. My son loved getting his teeth cleaned and especially selecting the toys after the visit. Dr. James was kind, thorough and pprofessional. We will definitely be back!

With a family history of teeth issues we wanted to find a great dentist for our kids and Dr. James' office exceeded all expectations. The front staff were incredibly helpful and sweet both on the phone and in person. The waiting room and all of the procedure rooms are like fairytales come to life, engaging for the children, lots for them to do while they wait. The cleaning appointments were great and thorough, all three of my kids loved it (esp the toy room to pick prizes from). My youngest needed some work done and it would take two visits to complete. Everything was done to make him feel comfortable and at ease, everyone who spoke to him was kind and gentle, all of his concerns were addressed. The flat screen TV's that move, 100+ movies to choose from, headphones to hear it and block out the drill, sunglasses for that annoying overhead light, scented nitrous oxide (which you can pick your flavor), wearing jammies for early morning appts, the experience was so amazing that after having the left side of his mouth done in August, he counted down the days until he could go back and cheered when we pulled up into the parking lot. My oldest went yesterday for sealant and my youngest went today to do the right side of him mouth, my middle child is protesting that it's not fair she can't go to the dentist just because she has perfect teeth!

Dr. James takes excellent care of both of my kids. They love going to the dentist despite having had teeth pulled here as part of their orthodontic treatment. Hygenists are careful professional. The assistants are always friendly. Oatientsfor 10 years now and we can't imagine going anywhere else.

I've been taking my kids to this office for several years now and we've always had a good experience. My kids look forward to going to the dentist because of all the toys and fun things to do before their appointment. They ask all the time when their next appointment is. Surprisingly they enjoy cleanings too (I don't remember enjoying that as a child), because they get to choose from a huge selection of movies to watch during the process. I find all the staff to be extremely helpful and professional and always straight forward about what needs to be done and what can wait.

Dr. James & his staff treat my children like family. My kids count down to their next visit (every time). We love Disneyland, and going to the dentist feels like a mini vacation in the midst of real life! So thankful.

Dr James and his staff are really amazing. They are not only professional and do an excellent job taking care of the kids' teeth, they do a wonderful job understanding that long term dental health is greatly improved with people that like the dentist. Both of our kids go here and each have had different experiences tailored to their individual tolerances for 'procedures'. The result, each is still very excited each time we tell them its their turn to go to the dentist! Our daughter has had a few fillings and each time has left as happy as she arrived. All this while providing excellent dental cleanings and work. Dr. James explained to me one time that he had some negative experiences as a kid at the dentist and works every day to make sure that the next generation of kids can develop a love for the dentist. Only downside is we live in Sherwood and thought we'd only go here while the kids were in daycare nearby but will continue to go here as long as we can. Well worth the drive! (Not really a downside)

I can't put into words how incredible our experience was at Dentistry for Kids! The staff is a delight and my twin boys (age 2) left happy and spoiled. If you have any concerns about taking your little one(s) to the dentist, try this place first. I was worried about how much a place like that would cost and I was blown away by how affordable it was. I actually can't wait to take them back. :)

I wish there was a place like this for when I was a kid. The office is very warm and welcoming, and doesn't really feel like a dentist office. The staff are very friendly and professional. My son enjoys coming here, and I feel like he has received excellent care. I highly recommend Dentistry for Kids.

We tried other places before settling with this place. My kids who cried and screamed at other dentists love visiting this dentistry office. Everything is so fun and beautiful (look for the trains running above you), it’s like going to an amusement park. I recommend this place to kids who are sensitive. Dr. James and his staff members are always friendly and nice, and they are so good with kids. The only con I can think of is now that my kids are used to this awesome place, they will not be satisfied with any other dentists. What do we do if we move to a different city? It will be a long journey to find a dentist office as good as this place.

I've been going to Dustin James for 5 years now and every time you enter his office, you've entered a fun land for kids. Movies, games, toys. Everything to keep a child feeling like they've entered Toys R Us and not a place for teeth cleaning, procedures. This will be the ultimate experience and the atmosphere will make everyone forget they've entered a dentist office. My hats off to a wonderful staff and amazing dentist as well.

My kids love this dentist so much that when I went to my appt my son cried and cried because he couldn't go with me to "his" dentist. I cannot say enough about the staff and Dr. James. Such a great place and kids LOVE it!!

We have been taking our 3 children to Dentistry for Kids and seeing Dr. James for several years now. We have been nothing but THRILLED - from general cleaning all the way to seeing him in a hospital setting at Legacy Randall Children's Hospital. The care was nothing but the best and SO KID FRIENDLY! Also, a shout out to his AWESOME STAFF... because they are patient with ALL kids. One of our children has sensory processing disorder and who knew you could request a dental hygienist who UNDERSTANDS a child's specific disorder! ALL of our kids love it when we tell them they are going to the dentist!

This is an amazing group of people. The office is decorated with something every child will like. The staff is so nice and caring. A previous dentist made me feel so bad any time my child got a cavity. This place is the complete opposite. Kindness and compassion with every situation. Dr. James and his staff are truly first class. We first visited his office when we moved to Wilsonville 9 years ago and given my son's unique dental condition it has truly been a blessing that we found Dr. James. He is a tender, kind, and loving doctor who truly cares about my son's well being and has gone lengths to ensure he is receiving the best care possible. As time progressed and my son's dental needs progressed we attempted to go see several specialists who to my surprise did not exemplify the same level of professionalism and care as Dr. James. Just when we thought we lost all hope Dr. James and his staff went above and beyond to help us and become my son's advocate in some of the obstacles we were dealing with at the time. I can truly say now having known Dr. James and his staff for the last 9 years that they are amongst the top dentistries for kids in Oregon. Even with the growth of his business, his practice still maintains a very warm and personal environment. They are always on time with their appointments, willing to accommodate scheduling changes, never miss an appointment reminder, and most importantly care for their young patients just like a parent would their own child. Dr. James and staff are absolutely the best. The minute you walk through the door, the kids have a lot of entertainment to keep them happy while they wait (it's getting them to want to leave that's the hard part). The staff is so friendly when they take them back, and make them feel so comfortable! They are well worth our drive from Salem because not only are they nice and friendly, they are very good with their dental care. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
