A REAL disappointment. The staff members are cold and unfriendly. His assistant is Tamique Chargois. I was seated in a consult room that was cluttered and nasty. It was an office.. He came in totally unprepared for the appointment. Did not have the 3 referrals or my clinic paperwork. This information was sent to his assistant. He asked ME why I was there. I brought copies of a CB CT on a cd. He never looked at it. He never even looked in my mouth or touched me. He never reviewed anything on his computer. He appeared annoyed that I took up his time. I love the providers in the UNC Healthcare network. They are very professional, prepared, and clinics are always clean. Skip this practice. GO to DUKE instead. WORST MEDICAL EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Dr. Turvey performed my jaws surgery in 2006. I drove 3 hours to have it performed because I didn’t have confidence in the surgeons in New Bern. Dr. Turvey is a patient advocate like no other doctor. He is amazing at what he does, advocates for his patients and will only let the most skilled residents take part in surgery. 13 years later and I am so grateful for the results of my surgery with Dr. Turvey!

Dr. Turvey changed my life ! I had maxillofacial reconstructive surgery with him in 2010 ! After such a long time of trying to get approved by my insurance for this surgery, he helped me & promised me he would do surgery and fix my jaw! I was going thru a lot of bullying at school & had problems eating food due to my jaw growing out. I had a 10 hr surgery when I was only 13. He was very professional during the whole process. I had to drive on tuesdays and thursdays 3 hrs for consultations to chapel hill but the drive did not bother me as I knew he was THE doctor to go to. I put my trust and faith in his hands & 10 years later. I am so happy I chose him. My jaw has not regrown & every time i look in the mirror I’m beyond happy with my results. His staff was always so nice with my family & I. The after care of my surgery was amazing as well. Thank you so much dr. Turvey for giving me a new chance at living life !
