Dr. Cooke made both of my children feel very comfortable with going to the dentist. I took the older one for some fillings and the younger one was so impressed she begged to have Dr. Cooke as her regular dentist as well. Even though we are moving next year,closer to my work in Davidson, I made sure Dr. Cooke was listed in my insurance renewal packet at work so my children can continue to see him for their dental needs. My sons see Dr. Cooke and we all love him. He is great with the kids and he informs the parents well. He pointed out that my youngest son has an extra baby tooth and that my older son is developing an open bite. He suggested we see an orthodontist regarding the open bite and I'm very glad that we did. No other dentist had pointed these things out to us before.

This was a very pleasant experience. This was the second dental visit (1st time at SouthPark Pediatric Dentistry) for our 2.5 year old twins. We were put in a private, closed off room that is available specifically for children experiencing dental visits for the first time. The dental assistant was very friendly and interacted well with the twins. Dr. Lisa was so polite and VERY informative. The facilities were also very clean. My only recommendation for new patients would be to request 'New Patient' paperwork ahead of your visit. Seriously..... its a legit 8-10 pages of paperwork to fill out (we have twins, so it was double the homework). It can be challenging filling out the paperwork while watching your kids. Some of the paperwork was also very redundant (ex: asking for address multiple times, etc.); it would have been great to be able to complete the form on-line and all at one-time.

Went for my son’s first dentist appointment today. Since he’s a typical 2 year old I was nervous how it was going to go. Dr Oscar and his staff made it very comfortable and fun for him to get cleaned and examined. They gave him a goody bag with fun prizes. He is excited to go back.

Dr. Oscar and the staff were incredible with my children at the Belmont location. My youngest has Down syndrome and the staff was great about scheduling him at the same time as his sisters and allowing him to watch them for some role modeling. When my son became overwhelmed, Dr. Oscar was able to do a quick exam and not push for more than my son could handle at that time. Our whole experience was wonderful - from making the appointment to check out.

Who has 5 children all come for a dentist appt and finish in an hour with X-rays and a thorough exam!!!! Yes. Southpark pediatric dentistry is amazing. The dental hygienists are skilled and knowledgeable and Dr Oscar is wonderful. I highly recommend them!! As a medical provider myself I do hold people to high standards. The front office staff the atmosphere is amazing. Perfectly stated was our 4 year old “ I love coming here. Can I come again?! It was so fun! “

My child was seen at this location by Dr. Cook who determined she had a cavity that needed to be filled and sealed. They also suggested that 6 baby teeth be sealed, which I felt was unnecessary and not covered under dental insurance. When we returned for her filling, the dental hygienist was very rude and forceful with my child, which made her feel very uncomfortable. She kept telling her to just close her mouth and bite down in a manner that was very unprofessional. You could tell she was frustrated, and the x-rays were unable to be completed. When we entered the room my daughter was still upset and uneasy. She was given laughing gas, which did not touch her due to her anxiety level, and then an isolation machine was placed in her mouth. She then started to have attack and felt as if she could not breath. She had the laughing gas on her nostrils and her mouth held wide open with this machine, while tears ran down her face. That is when I intervened and told the dentist we would not be doing this today, and had them abort the procedure. I decided to seek out a second opinion from another pediatric dentist, and see if there are any other techniques we could try since Dr. Cook's office was unable to provide any other options. We decided to see Dr. Mujica with All Kids Pediatric Dentistry, and her x-rays were obtained without complication. They were also much more personable as far as the staff and made my daughter feel very comfortable and relaxed. I was then informed that my daughter DID NOT have a cavity that needed to be filled, and what was thought to be a cavity turned out to be a stain. She also confirmed this with a physical exam. No filling needed. We had seen Dr. Cook's office twice and this cavity was confirmed, and sedation was paid for AFTER the initial procedure was aborted, and she did not even need the filling to begin with. I paid $77 for a misdiagnosis and new onset dental anxiety in a 6 year old.

My initial appointment was great. We were told that we had to wait to get my 3 year old cavities filled in TWO months at a hospital because she had 7 and would have to be put under anesthesia. I learned that this was a bad idea from my daughter pediatric doctor. Still waiting an appointment and it has been 2 ½ months. Now my daughter is complaining of teeth and gum pain that has brought her to tears. I advise go elsewhere for you child because now I am.

First visit to SP Pediatric Dentistry. Very nice staff upfront, paperwork was easy and there was no wait. Nurse was great with my stubborn son. Dr. Lisa was very nice and great with Tucker. She explained everything very easily. Check out process super easy as well. Office was very clean and super fun for kids! Definitely would recommend for your littles.

My son had his first visit here a couple of weeks ago as well as a procedure yesterday. After seeing a couple other offices that literally had him in tears when we left, there were no tears when we left the appointment with Dr Oscar! The entire staff is so good with kids, professional and you can tell their number one priority is making your child comfortable! We drove an hour to get to the office and we will continue to drive there because my son said he never wants to go anywhere else!

We took our little one for his first visit at 18 months. The staff and Dr. Cooke were very good with him. Dr. Cooke spent time answering our questions and provided guidance on his tooth care for us to implement. The office is also amazing. The lay-flat chairs have tvs or mini ipads for the patients to watch movies while being treated, which is amazing. The first visit was really good and he will be back for another visit.

Southpark Pediatric Dentistry was on my list of possible dentists when we moved here, but I landed on a General Family Dentist for our family. However, we were referred to Southpark Pediatric Dentistry by our Family Dentist to consult on some issues one of our children was having. I can't begin to express how impressed I am with the practice, their level of care for us and for Dr. Cooke's amazing bedside manner to both parent and child. He patiently explains procedures to both child and parent, and has taken great care in making sure I understood everything we were doing and why. I feel so confident in being able to trust his reccomendations and his skill as a dentist, that I decided to move all of my children here. I had for years believed that a general dentist was fine for our family, but Southpark Pediatric Dentistry has made me a firm believer that a Pediatric Dentist can best meet the specific needs of children's teeth. So thankful to have found this practice and only wish I had made the choice sooner!

This was our second visit everything was awesome except one thing. My daughter was there for some sealing of her teeth. They gave her some laughing gas. Nobody ask me if i wss ok with it but i didnt say anything. When i went to check out they charged me 95 dollars for the laughing gas. Wish they would ask me before or mention it to me.

You never want to get that call from school "your child has had an accident" but if you do it is important to have caring and professional doctors to call. When I had to make that call for an emergency treatment of my daughter the staff was kind and assuring. We did not wait and was seen immediately. Although it was an unfortunate accident we left the office of Southpark Pediatric Dentistry and Doctor Andy knowing that our child had the best care possible, all of our questions were answered and she (and we) would be ok. I was a bit apprehensive about my two year old’s first visit to the dentist, but it couldn’t have gone any better. She was as happy as could be trying on the purple gloves, using the dental mirror and helping Dr. Johnson count her teeth (great tactics for getting a wiggly toddler to sit for a dental exam!). In the end, I had a hard time getting her to leave! I can't imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and his staff. Update: Two years later and my daughter still loves visiting Dr. Johnson and his team. She is looking forward to her next visit. Always a great experience!
