Plesantly surprised with the atmosphere and service. Even the music pipped in over the speakers was memorably enjoyable. I'm one of those people who gets very anxious about going to the dentist thanks to a painfully bad experience as a teen. However, the staff at Smile Savvy were very friendly and the massage chair and television helped distract me from the dental work I needed. My dentist, Joya Lyons, and technician, Michelle, were great and made sure they explained what they were about to do at each step, which worked great for helping me not freak out. I was surprised at how quickly they worked and without any pain at all! I'll be returning for all my dental needs.

I have been going to Smile Savvy since moving to Charlotte three years ago. They have always been there for my dental needs. Recently, one of my older crowns cracked and Dr. Lyons and his staff took very good care of me and were very kind and professional during the whole process. I admit I am not the best of dental patients but this staff has been excellent in allaying my worries and fears about going to the dentist.

Going to the dentist has about the same thrill for me as going to the Vet has for my dogs; but, there is always the car ride and a treat once it’s over and the Novocain wears off. Dr Lyons and the staff at Smile Savvy make my visits as painless and pleasurable as possible. Imagined trolls with picks and drills are soon vanquished by conversation about families and grands and before I know it I’m on my way for that car ride home and long awaited treat.

I like the facility and and the people were great. Had great conversation with the dentist and the dental assistant about my teeth and other topics of interest. They were really engaged and friendly. I have just become accustom to a certain routine of the hygienist doing a thorough cleaning with the pick tool (not sure of the accurate name) and other tools to get in the crevices......the cleaning I can't easily do at home. It was more of a quick clean done by the dentist which was followed up by the regular teeth polishing and floss. It just seemed like the cleaning was what I could have done/already do at home. The other thing I noticed was that the assistant who polished and flossed seemed to have cigarette odor on her hands even with gloves on. Customers service and friendly people are huge on my list so I'll return to see how the next visit goes before I make any quick decisions.

Dr. Drew is the best dentist in Charlotte! He makes you feel comfortable throughout the entire process as he's working on your teeth. Very thorough explaining what he's doing and frequently checks in on you. I was afraid of the dentist years ago but he made it an easy process. I highly recommend Smile Savvy to everyone!

****Update***** I would like to thank Dr. Lyon and staff for the excellent service they have provided. From day 1 service has been nothing but top notch. This is the best service I received in a long time. I am finally finished my work. I can smile again. My smile is amazing thanks to Dr. Lyon. My dental assistant Michelle was the best. We do more then discuss dental work we discuss our children. Its like we have built a dental relationship.. lol.. I will not forget about Sherry who always takes the time to make you feel warm and welcomed on every visit.. Thanks for making this nothing but best..... and keeping my nerves at ease. I am always sceptical about dentist. I have had some bad experiences with dentist. I just went to a dentist in August because my main dentist seems like they were trying to provide services that I did not need and that my insurance would not pay for. They were not thourough like smile Savvy. Smile Savvy discovered some work that I needed that was undetected by the previous dentist I went to. With the additonal work my cost is less expensive then the orignal work I was going to get done at the previous 2 dentist. Smile Savvy has great customer service from the front to the back. I am very pleased with the service so far. I will give a update when I am done my treatment plan.

My most recent experience at Smile Savvy with Dr Andrew Lyons involved some dental work that can be a bit uncomfortable. I had more than one needle poke in my gums for numbing, that awful drilling sound while working on my tooth and all while I had some mild pain..In spite of it all , I was very comfortable as Dr. Lyons is superb at making sure you feel as little pain as possible. His calm and gentle demeanor makes him an excellent Dentist and person..I highly recommend Smile Savvy for a great dental experience..The entire office staff are also very professional and helpful..

Loved our first visit to this practice. The staff was friendly and helpful. My kids feel in love with both the Lyons. They worked great with the children explaining what would happen and had time to answer any questions. Netflix on the TV in the exam room and a prize box for the littles. Practice has a relaxing, personal feel. Greeted everyone by name. Highly recommend Smile Savvy and am glad we chose them as our new family dentist.

I was having a lot of pain after having my bottom wisdom teeth removed. I was very unhappy with how the oral surgeon who performed the procedure and her staff were treating my pain. I called Dr. Lyon's office and was able to be seen that same day. I literally had a break down in the waiting room and was immediately comforted by one of the clinic staff. Dr. Lyons was so pleasant and had the best chair side manner. He listened to me and gave me his recommendations. He was able to get me in to see another oral surgeon that afternoon. Dr. Andrew Lyons stated that I had decay in 6 teeth requiring fillings. They were listed as a in network provider with our insurance company. I paid the co payment in advance for the work performed. After all work was completed, they sent me an additional bill for almost $200. I said that I had already paid in full and they said that the insurance company would not cover the high grade of fillings that they used, only the standard fillings. I stated that I never requested the higher grade and they said that it was all that they used and that the bill needed to be paid. I gave them the option of continuing to be our family dentists and waiving the additional charge (which they never had us approve before they did the work) or retaining our business and they chose for the bill to paid. I paid the bill and thought "good riddance". I noticed within the first few months since the fillings were done, that I could feel that the fillings would catch on dental floss and occasionally pieces would crack off. Fast forward almost two years and my new dentist says all 6 fillings done by Savvy Smiles (Dr. Andrew Lyons) need to be replaced because the workmanship was shoddy and there are spaces between the filling and my tooth which will likely lead to more decay issues. Did not feel compelled to leave a negative review or comment publicly on the level of service and skill that I experienced at this dental clinic (even though I was very unhappy right after the work was done for the reasons stated above) until I found that it would cost me another $1500 to replace and repair the bad work that was performed by Savvy Smiles. Please avoid this clinic unless you want to pay for dental work all over again in the near future.

The office is nice, but I have issues with the female dentist's work. She will perform work that she knows will not hold up, such as placing a filling in a molar or premolar tooth that has a root canal. She knows the tooth is dead and will break without a crown. I would not recommend her as a dentist.

They are diligent about explaining everything to you about what needs to be done by providing you with a treatment plan and the cost involved as well as payment options! They don't just say this is what you need, do it and pay! I've had dentist tell me I need thousands of dollars of work done! When I arrived at Smile Savvy after a friend referred me, I was quickly advised, that the previous dentist had lied and I didn't need anything AT ALL EXCEPT my normal cleaning!!! Everything since then has been what I WANTED to improve my smile for my own satisfaction! And I'm well beyond satisfied!!! You can't go wrong with Smile Savvy!

Even though I have great dental insurance, honestly I was attracted to Smile Savvy because of their special for those without dental insurance. I was impressed that they seemed to care about those in the community who are faced with good basic dental care being out of their reach. With many practices to choose from, I scheduled a new patient appointment w/Smile Savvy. I had a wonderful experience at Smile Savvy. The staff was courteous, friendly and professional. The office was very clean and orderly and the equipment and technology was very current. They provided me w/well explained answers to my questions and the massage chair that I had my exam in was a very nice PLUS! I don't think I've had a dentist clean my teeth since my Grandfather, who was a dentist, did when I was just a young girl! Very unusual by today's standard but also really nice!! I had Dr. Joya Lyons who was extremely gentle. I will recommend the practice to family and friends for sure!! Keep up the good work!
