The people here are like family. I am diabetic and they make sure my blood sugar numbers are in a good range while I am there. They always have juice available if my numbers are too low and will not let me leave until they are sure I can safely drive. They show concern and genuinely care about their patients. Simply wonderful visit to the dentist - something you really just don't hear. Easy check in, no wait time (though the pleasant office would be nice to enjoy for a wait if you had to), fun and intelligent staff made me aware of each step of the process. The procedure (a filling replacement) was efficient, and completely painless (huge sigh of relief there!). Doctor Tate is just wonderful - engaging, empathetic, and kept a running commentary on what he was doing, showing me pics of all that was going on. Easy checkout and done!

I had a great experience at Salling and Tate. My teeth are very clean now, and the staff there is the best! The atmosphere is very relaxed, and great for anyone with dental anxiety. They had great x-ray machines, and that process only took a few minutes. This was the first time I have gotten a 3D x-ray, which was really neat to observe, and it made me feel at ease that we didn't miss any hidden problems. Dr Tate was great, and everyone there is committed to long term dental health. If you need a dentist in Wilmington, you should go to Salling and Tate.

Dr. Jamie is excellent- I needed 2 new crowns for my front teeth. He displayed great attention to detail & really took his time to make sure he was happy with the result. There is also a man on staff, Steven, who specifically worked to make sure the crowns were the exact perfect shade and shape. He is an artist! They turned out PERFECT, I have never been happier with my smile! The entire staff- from desk staff to hygienists are all above and beyond friendly. Appointments are always on time and I never feel rushed. I would recommend to a friend- in fact, I have!

***WARNING***This dental office works with another office to prey on people who are not able to afford dental work. I was referedd by them to their partners after being told all of my xrays, examination would transfer over assuring me and my wife that we would not have to pay very much. Their partners explained the absolute necessity of a new exam, new xrays and i was charged 800 dollars for 1 extraction and a smoothie. I am in the process of filing a complaint and hopefully an investigation will be done into their malicious and preditory buisness practices.

This is hands down the best dentist I have been to ever. Everyone who works there is very nice and quick to get you in and out properly without you feeling rushed. The dentists themselves actually take the time to speak with you about everything you have going on and also call the night of to check on you which I thought was a pretty cool thing. Typical dentists come in quickly barely look you in the eye do a quick assessment (Half assed usually) and leave in a flash. Salling and Tate are the best of the best and I will refer them to everyone I know.

Unfortunately, I had a similar billing experience as someone else mentioned below. I don't like that I have to fill out a negative review because Dr. Salling and the hygienist was so nice and friendly but here I am... I filled out all the new patient paperwork and they had my insurance days before my appointment. I went to the appointment and again the dentist and hygienist were very friendly and nice, I really liked them!!! I went to check out and Bonnie (2nd floor) said that the total was $355, I was like "WHAT? I have insurance? My insurance covers 100% of prevention services", she gave me a word salad response and said that not all dental insurance covers everything 100%, I said "no, mine does I read the benefits letter", but because of how firm she was I felt I had to pay the $100. I called my insurance company and they said the same thing - your cleaning is covered we don't know why they charged you $100. I called back S&T and they said they would take care of it. Well about a week later I checked my claims and S&T are saying they are keeping the $40 for "excess costs" but will reimburse me the $60. I called my insurance company and they explained how S&T actually charges MORE for services than the usual dentistries and it was above the insurance companies "reasonable and above costs." I get that, obviously, the discrepancy is between S&T charges and what my insurance covers. I called back S&T and explained to them that I felt this was incredibly unfair and that they should make this right because of the multiple mistakes they made with my appointment/insurance. I told them I gave them my insurance prior and that if I was going to be charged on 100% COVERED services from my insurance I wouldn't have gone there. They said they do NOT check your insurance before you come in! So if you do end up going here you better check your insurance and their costs thoroughly!!! S&T refused to reimburse me the full $100 and were only reimbursing the $60. It's really disappointing that they chose to not do the right thing based on principal and refused to acknowledge their mistake which ended up costing them a long term patient and a referral source all over $40. I understand I got my teeth cleaned but the customer service, billing nightmare and staff is not worth $40 for services that are 100% covered at a typical billing rate for most dentistries. **EDIT: S&T - Amy the Practice Manager actually reached out to me and they are reimbursing me the original $100. THIS IS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE YA'LL. Amy was so incredibly nice and understanding about the whole situation. I hope they are able to work out the billing errors for future clients. They are making it right, which very rarely happens with doctor offices. Thank you S&T!!!

My husband and I have had incredible experiences with Dr. William Salling. In December I had unusual pain in my tooth and gum. Dr. Salling took an x-ray of the area. He studied the x-ray, probed my gum and tooth, re-studied the x-ray, asked questions, studied the x-ray some more. He took the time to examine all possibilities for my pain and to consider the best course of action. I was so impressed with the degree of thought and concern he exhibited. The solution he ultimately came up with was the correct solution and the issued has been resolved. My husband just recently broke a crown, of course a front tooth that needed immediate attention. Dr. Salling's office was fully booked but they made an appointment for my husband to "work him in". When we arrived we expected Dr. Salling to examine the situation, come up with a plan and schedule an appointment to correct the problem. To our surprise (and pleasure) Dr. Salling did examine the problem and instead of scheduling a future appointment, he dealt with the issue right then and there! My husband was in the chair for almost two hours while Dr. Salling worked diligently to make sure my husband's tooth was properly and effectively taken care of even though this meant that they would be working well past normal quitting time , Along with Dr. Salling's assistant Tammy Edmonds, my husband was extremely well cared for while his comfort and well being were assured. Dorothy Crumpton played a big role in this situtation as well as she facilitated exchanging information between me and Dr. Salling and his staff and assuring that we had an appointment in a very timely manner. The teamwork displayed by the entire staff at Salling and Tate is impressive and definitely helped facilitate the successful outcome of my husband's emergency. Both my husband and I just can't thank Dr. Salling and his staff enough for their highly trained professional care as well as their caring for his patients.
