The dental care is definitely top notch, they are very professional and courteous. My main gripe is that I always end up getting stuck with a bigger bill than I expect. Their "estimated coverage" is never right, and they will often times hit you up for add'l services ("we recommend this. . .") while you're in the chair, without mentioning that it may or may not be covered by insurance. I've constantly gotten stuck with an extra $100 here and an extra $200 there.

Dr Greg and Dr Lisa Mayes are both excellent dentists, very kind, accommodating and friendly. When first moving to Cary in 1999 I tried a few Dentists and knew from the first visit that Dr Greg was what I had been seeking. The office is equipped with the latest technology for dental care. Over the years Dr Greg has replaced cracked amalgam fillings with composite fillings, filled cavities, and put on a couple of crowns. Several years ago I had an emergency situation with cracked tooth and was planning to leave town on vacation. Dr Greg made special arrangements to see me right away and put on a temporary crown the same day. I have also had the good fortune to have Dr Lisa for several appointments. Dr. Lisa is truly one of the most pleasant and upbeat people you will ever meet and also and excellent Dentist. Dr. Lisa was the first to alert me of symptoms of sleep apnea during a checkup appointment and encouraged me to consult my Dr for formal testing. In April 2018 I was formally diagnosed by Raleigh Neurology with sleep apnea. Since being treated for sleep apnea my sleep has greatly improved and my blood pressure has returned to a normal level. The entire staff is also very professional and friendly. The Dental Hygienists provide great service and show genuine interest in learning about life events each visit. Thank you Dr. Greg and Dr. Lisa for your excellent care and service.

Wonderful I have been to a lot of dentist and they were by far the best. I received a consultation and they took me to a separate room and we sat and talked about what I would like done and what they could do for me. Then we had a general exam including x-rays teeth cleaning it and I even did a complement check for mouth cancer. Then the doctor after she was done, came over and gave me all kinds of options. I felt right at home there and they really seem to care and know what they were talking about. I've gotten nothing but high-quality work from them and worth every penny. I have spent a lot of money at in a lesser, cheaper places and I always had to have my work re-done. I feel very confident with them. Great service, great work five stars!

I've only been seeing Dr. Lisa for a few years, but I really think the TV's in the rooms help relax me a little, and I like that when I walk in someone will ask about whats new in my life. Dr. Lisa is one of the better dentists I've been to in Cary, because if I am hesitant or nervous about something, she will really take her time and be super careful. I had Dr. Gregg remove my amalgam fillings on the my lower right and upper left quadrants about 8 teeth he also did a bridge on my upper left. He uses porcelain crowns, the latest and greatest, he won't give his patients Amalgam, I would never go to a quack who still does Amalgam as this guarantees your teeth will crack because they expand 12 times more than your teeth do from hot and cold. Unlike my previous dentist's work, the extensive filling he took out and replaced with crowns have no pain and feel incredible! I also had him do veneers in my last visit. They look awesome. My only regret is that I didn't use him for all four quadrants as I was having all the amalgam removed and cracked teeth repaired. I also love the fact that while they are doing their work they give you headphones and a TV to watch. I chose Nitris and I'm so glad I did. Made the experience not only bearable in even somewhat pleasant. I was in my own little word while they are drilling out massive fillings and giving me veneers on 10 teeth! I can't say enough about how incredible Dr. Greg and his assistants were.

After a year- and some disappointments- I followed my gut (and gums) back to Preston. Smartest thing I've done and so happy to be back in their compassionate and competent hands. Dr. Lisa Mayes puts the Mayes in aMayes-ing dental care. All those years of torture at other dental offices ... waiting, revisiting, wondering. This is a top notch dental office, administering all of the latest state-of-the-art dental methods. I’ve needed two crowns in the past year and both times I was in and out in a few hours. Start to finish. No two weeks of suffering through a “temp” crown, then back again to have it fitted. Fabricated while I waited in the dental chair, then fit to perfection. I tried aimlessly to give a six-starts rating, but the darn app simply does not allow it. Consider this five-star review a 5+.

I went to Preston Dental Care after a number of years without dental insurance and knew things were going to be less than stellar. I made everyone aware that I was also pretty dentist-phobic and they told me they could help. From the second I set foot in the door, I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Lisa explained the work I needed and agreed to work with me to get it done. She was extremely pleasant - she has a wonderful bedside manner. She and her assistants also told me about how they could use nitrous to calm my nerves. Today, I had my first treatment with nitrous. Let me tell you - if you're like me and just need to relax while in the chair, this is for you. I was wrapped up in a blanket, with headphones on watching Charmed on TV in a state of euphoria while getting a root canal. Seriously. They have a state-of-the-art facility that is clean and pleasantly decorated. Thank you to everyone from the front desk, to the assistants, to Dr. Lisa herself. I no longer dig my nails into my hands while having my teeth worked on. Update - 04/17/19: I have been going to Dr. Lisa for several months now and everyone has been stellar. I really couldn't ask for a better group to work on my teeth. I'm so happy to have found this practice. Thank you for giving me a much nicer, healthier smile and helping me overcome my fear of dentists.

I have been to 3 dentists in the last year and have had terrible experiences at all of them because they did not know what they were doing. Dr. Mayes is the best dentist I have had. Very fast, very accurate, very concerned about the health of the teeth and the way that they look. He always gets the bite exactly correct. Uses the latest technology to determine if your tooth is starting to decay so that you catch it before you get a bad cavity and have to have expensive work done.

Most all the employees have stayed with them at Preston Dental for many years. The front desk staff, the financial information staff, the hygienists, and the dental assistants are all welcoming, intelligent, and all do their best to give you the best care and experience. They are the best dental practice, where I have been a patient. The practice also is VERY PREVENTION DRIVEN, and they are MOST concerned about continuing their patients' dental education, in order to keep their patients' teeth and gums healthy. Their new Dental Club is a great option as well Preston Dental did extensive dental restoration for me, and that has helped make my life completely a better and healthier one.
