This was my first appointment for dental work with Hendersonville Family Dental. It was a great experience! I had a cavity on a crowned tooth and had to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Dr. J. and assistant Heather were very caring and concerned that I not have any pain or discomfort. I was very nervous about the extraction, but I experienced very little discomfort. Dr. J even called me the next day to see if I was having any pain or problems, but I was happy to report that I did not. I would highly recommend Hendersonville Family Dental!

Dr. Stohl always takes the time to answer questions or take care of concerns. My entire family goes here and my kids even enjoy coming in for a check up!

Everything about my last dental visit (4 crowns)was top notch as it relates to the work of the dentist and his assistant. They were cordial, professional and caring; I would recommend your office without reservation. I look forward to continuing the process of restoring my teeth. I had a very hard time with the liberal, CBS produced, running loop which played on a screen above me. I had to watch the likes of Stephen Colbert (late night comedian who coddles liberals to make a living), Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King (who is a CBS, president Trump bashing, newsperson). And the one line blips under the screen “Investigations mean looming trouble for Trump”. One may assume that this choice of “entertainment” for your patients is benign and neutral; it is not. On future visits, I would like the option of turning this liberal loop off during my visit. Or perhaps you will consider a form of entertainment that doesn’t upset half of your clients. I’ve only been going to Hendersonville Family Dental for about a year and already have had 3 different dentists in the practice. The first one left the practice because, I’m told, of a disagreement with management. I only saw that dentist once. The second dentist created a temporary crown for me but didn’t tell me that he had already put in his notice with the practice so would not be around to put in the permanent crown. Only after the temporary crown was put in did the technician tell me that I would be getting a different dentist to install the permanent crown. I would have preferred that I be included in the decision to have two dentists work on my crown especially since I had never met one of them. When I went back to get the new crown put in by dentist #3 (Dr. Michael Stohl, the owner of the practice) I must have hit a nerve with him. He made no apology for what had happened. In fact he seemed defensive and got angry that I asked a lot of questions because I had concerns that there had been a lot of sensitivity in the tooth with the temporary crown. I suspect that others in nearby rooms heard him chastising me for questioning everything he said and angrily asking me if I want him to put the crown in or not. Here he was practically yelling at me from behind his mask with my new crown between his fingers. So, I just shut up, put up my hands and opened my mouth. He cemented it in left the room and didn’t return to check the work done by the technician. I want to apologize to Dr. Stohl for whatever I said to trigger such a strong negative reaction. I just wanted to be sure there wasn’t any underlying problem with the tooth before the crown was installed because I had never had persistent sensitivity with a temporary crown in the past. I thought all those questions were appropriate. We obviously got off on the wrong foot and I’m sure you’d prefer I not return. Not to worry, I won’t be back.

What an amazing dentist and staff. I haven't been to the dentist in forever because, well let's face it, dentists can be very scary. But from the moment I walked through the door, everyone was polite and friendly. Dr. Stohl is one of the most personal dentists I've ever seen, and he was extremely thorough. Oct 1st of this year was my last visit with this office. I have been going there for many years and seen a few different dentist along the way. I had a simple freshening up of a couple older front fillings. When dentist drills& leaves hole open and leaves chair side for 15 mins to attend another it is not only "poor practice", but greed comes to my mind.($$) Filling was sloppy and rough,and I returned immediately to have it filed..Dentist remarked"couldn't see any of that. Indeed it was from his poor job done. Went to another caring dentist and appears root canals need doing,as just maybe pulp was damaged during a simple process. Also,questions i asked about gluten products used in dentistry,he had" zero "clue...also about old silver fillings. His reply was not correctly answered either,that should of sent me running...

Incompetent and rude billing staff. Martha in billing was brusk and plain rude when I asked her to explain the additional charges that came as big surprise to me. I paid my bill in full during my last visit only to find out that they are charging me again. Not only she could not explain the additional charges but she got snappy and hung up the phone on me. It's not the way to treat your customers. I will be taking my family to another doctor.

Initial visit, cleaning by Melissa and a complete set of xrays. Excellent care. Dr Stohl checked me over and I was done! In and out in an hour - very good for an initial visit. I've recommended to my friends. Apparently this didn't post when I wrote it last year. This year has had me in for another cleaning (Melissa, you're still great) and a crown by Dr. Juarez. Very good work. Another 2 crowns coming in April. I guess you might say I'm happy . . .

Staff at check-in and check-out...wonderful! Dentist also did a wonderful job! However, if a price is quoted with insurance...please make sure it is coming from the person who actually files the insurance. Had a shock when I checked out...went from paying approximately $100 dollars to paying over $500. Since the care was done, I had no recourse but to pay it. Very frustrating.

Got fitted for two crowns today and I was very impressed with the new technology they have to actually mill your crowns out of porcelain while you wait and set them in without having to come back for a second visit. It is a young group of dentists at HVD and as a result they are on top of the new technology and anytime they can come up with ways to reduce my time at the dentist, I am all for it.

I lost a filling over a weekend, and HVL Family Dental was recommended. I called on Monday & they got me in for a Thurday appt. The 2 front receptionists welcomed me & gave me paperwork to fill out. Dental assistant Heather called me in, was friendly, and showed me to a work room, which was through a beautiful modern facility. Dr. Kirk came in to replace my filling, and was gentle. I've been going to this dentist for a few years now and I'm planning on switching. They ALWAYS find something wrong that will cost a fortune to fix. They also quoted me what it would cost to have a root canal done and two fillings based on what my insurance would cover. I had the work done and when I was checking out they informed me that I would have to come back to have the two fillings done another time even though they charged me the full quote for the root canal AND fillings. I had to be sedated for the procedure and made it very clear before they started the work that due to my anxiety and having to be sedated I was to have the root canal AND fillings done all that day. They made the decision to not do the fillings without informing me and I'm sure it's so I have to come back for another procedure and another bill. They clearly are only interested in getting as much money out of you as they can. I'm also tired of the dentists constantly leaving the room every 10 or 20 minutes to go see other patients making your appointment take twice as long as it should. I don't like leaving bad reviews and I'm sorry to have to do this but I'm tired of being treated like a money sign instead of a human.

Hendersonville Family Dental by far has the most understanding, kind natured, supportive, informative, and professionals I haven't had a single experience from front of house, billing/appointments, hygienist, or my dentist that wasn't pleasant. They have done an excellent job getting my teeth back in order after some time spent not going when my life priorities needed other attention. I even found myself laughing on my last visit. If you're looking to make a change, I highly recommend them. Especially for those who have dental anxiety!

After getting flyer after flyer in the mail, my husband decided to try it out, as his dentist was still on paper and he was tired of having to file his insurance himself. After his recommendation I switched my dentist. The building is *beautiful* and clean. My first cleaning was very thorough and I felt like I was definitely getting my moneys worth. I have had some sensitivity for years and this is the first dentist office that offered more than just "use a sensitive toothpaste and soft bristled brush". I definitely recommend this place and am happy I switched.

One of the best dental appointments I've ever had. Staff welcomed me as a new patient and was very professional. The dental hygienist, Cherry, was outstanding! One of the few cleanings in which I felt very little pain. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Kirk, who I had selected because we share a Navy background and I know his education was second-to-none. I'm delighted to have found my new dentist in my new home!

I had a very poor experience at this practice. I had to go to another dentist to have my teeth recleaned. I brought my records from my Illinois dentist and this practice decided that they were not necessary. Instead of returning them to me they destroyed the records. They suggested very expensive, difficult and unnecessary work. Be very careful!
