I love Wendy Mayer, DDS!!!! She is so amazing and good at her job and kind. I consider her a friend by now. Her office is very sweet too. When I have to bring my special needs child, she accommodates us in every way possible. She is sympathetic and intelligent and listens and helps. I came to her with a lot of dental problems. I'd been getting a crazy run around from so many dentists and dental schools and it was kinda hellish. I feel like she was really honest about what could be fixed, what couldn't at this juncture, best possible options. When I had to have a tooth pulled, I went to her because I was so sad to have to lose a tooth and I just wanted somebody kind in the room with me, somebody caring. I couldn't possibly recommend her more highly. She's not only a great dentist -- she's a great person.

Dr. Mayer and her team are amazing. Everyone at her office is very polite and helpful with rescheduling appointments. I've had my teeth cleaned by both Dr. Mayer and her dental assistant. Neither times was I made to wait an extensive amount of time to be seen for my cleaning. My cleanings were thorough and done in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr. Mayer's office.

The worst experience ever! I came there for teeth cleaning and it was just horrible. The hygienist was touching her iPhone during the process and was listening music in her headphones. She didn’t numb my gums and It was extremely painful. She hit me with a cable of the machine she was using. She spilled water on me, all my clothes were wet. After all, she didn’t do a good job. She said I need a deep cleaning under my gums and it will be $170 extra. I left the place with my gums bleeding, my mouth was sore for the next two days. Today I went to another dentists office and they did a great job. They said I don’t need any deep cleaning. They did an amazing job. I didn’t have any pain. It was so professional. Don’t go to this dentist. Don’t waste your time. They should close their office and don’t do any practice! I’m super mad at them! I would give a zero star if I could!

I had a cosmetic filling and she didn't access the tooth properly and drilled too deep into the pulp, which caused an infection and a hematoma, damaged my nerves. Then sent me to an Oral Surgeon that couldn't diagnose the problem (opposed to other oral surgeons). When something goes wrong, at the very least, you need a dentist that can problem solve. There's plenty of other dentists in NYC. There was a reason her office was always empty.

I wish I could comment on the service of Wendy Mayer, but I cannot, as when I arrived for my appointment, they wouldn't take me, citing a previously undisclosed "no show" policy. They said I was late, which was frustrating, since delayed by the rain on the subway, I had taken a cab to try to get there on time. Despite this, I was only 15 min. late, and stood in the rain trying to convince them to take me in. I understand a policy of not taking a patient who is late, so as to not make the rest of the day run late, and though frustrated, I said I was happy to reschedule. However, they refused, saying that my Groupon was now invalidated and would not be able to be used again. After talking to the receptionist, who hung up on me, I called back and reached the doctor herself, who said the same thing and then proceeded to hang up on me, too. Clearly, at this point, I would NEVER reschedule with Dr. Mayer, as she's quite possibly the rudest doctor I have ever encountered, and I do not want to even see her let alone let her work in my mouth. And now I am out not only the money for the Groupon, but also the cost of a cab, and I received no service whatsoever.

Dr Mayer had an excellent bedside manner and was super gentle and thorough during my consultation. She performed the entire examination and cleaning herself (which was surprising to me as I’ve always had dental hygienists perform all my cleanings). Her office is in a beautiful location, right off of Central Park and her office staff is warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Don't go there! Save your teeth. Especially don't do Invisalign with someone who is not an orthodontist. I regret very few things in life. Going to this office and wasting my orthodontic insurance on her was one of them. Also the office itself is filthy dirty. Her staff is nice. That's the only good thing I can say about this place. But when the dentist has bad teeth and is incompetent, don't just walk away, run.
