I have seen many dentists and I have absolutely no question that Dr. Tabib's level of care is on a paramount level. While I have only seen him for a consultation and a cleaning, I hope to have him do lots of cosmetic work on my teeth, and I will continue to see him for all of my dental needs. His compassion, expertise, and professionalism make going to the dentist a rewarding experience- and I have a significant dental phobia. He is great at explaining things, he is incredibly patient, and I sincerely respect his artistry. Every member of the NYC Smile Design team is lovely to interact with.

Dr Mello and Dr Tabib have created an atmosphere that is warm and welcome , it transcends any antiquated notion of what a dental office should be. I’ve never visited a dentist office without feeling some level of terror... yesterday I was so amused at some of the pre-cleaning antics and chat that I actually found myself struggling not to giggle through my cleaning. Let me start by saying I've definitely been to plenty of dentists on my journey to their office, NONE compare. The level of courtesy, professionalism, technical expertise and respect you receive when you're in their office is by far the absolute BEST I've ever experienced in my life. From the moment you walk in, everyone in the office is on their A game. The espresso machine, waters, wine (yes, wine) are there for you to enjoy the 5 mins. you wait. Definitely some pretty cool dentists. Highly recommended, I can't wait for my next visit!

I came to Drs Tabib and Mello after a mouth reconstruction by another well known cosmetic dentist just totally didn't work. I developed terrible jaw and jaw muscle pain, headaches, neckaches and shoulder pain. I struggled with this for over 9 months. I felt pretty hopeless. In one visit Drs. Tabib and Mello got me to comfort. That is amazing. Their approach is so smart, thoughtful, detail oriented, individually crafted and careful. It made me feel like I was in very safe hands and that I would be very well cared for. They first observed my bite and x rayed my mouth. They then mapped the bite that was right for me (not some theoretical normal jaw) based on a very well crafted method. They first relaxed my jaw using a TENs system. They could then observe how my jaw naturally fell. They tracked my bite patterns using electro magnetic imaging. Using this information they developed a temporary bite device (while work was being done on something more permanent) that equalized and balanced my bite. When I woke up this morning ... I woke up to a comfortable jaw, no headaches or neck pain. It is the first time in a long time I just felt good. THIS IS AFTER ONE VISIT. These guys are impressive and a powerful team together. I would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone. They are terrific and I am lucky to be their patient and to be cared for by them.

I went to Dr. Tabib for a consultation after being attacked on the street by a stranger on drugs. The incident left several of my teeth shattered and with nerve damage (including, displaced facial bones, among other issues). Dr. Tabib’s consultation was supposed to be a for a second opinion. However, the minute I walked out of Dr. Tabib’s office, I knew he was the right dentist for me and that I would be back. He took his time to listen and to ask me all the right questions. He dealt with me with the empathy that I needed. It was obvious that he cared about my welll being as a patient. I had several visits to his office and each time I went, I was cared for by a courteous and professional staff. I can’t say enough how having an amazing staff postively added to my experience. I was given details about what each visit would entail and they would always answer my questions and follow up to remind me about my appointments. Tabib was always clear and precise in what each procedure entailed. He is very meticulous and takes his time, and his work ethic and attention to detail is unparalleled. Not to mention, he has a wonderful sense of humor. I would also meet with his wife, Dr. Mello, whom exhibited the same level of empathy, expert care, and charm, as Dr. Tabib. Most people avoid going to the dentist, but their office made me look forward to each visit. Dr. Tabib not only restored my teeth and my smile, he helped renew my spirit. He helped me out of my shame and embarrassment and gave me a reason to look forward to the future. I rarely write reviews, but I felt that I should let others know about my experience because I am truly grateful and fortunate to have found his office.

I didn't like Dr tabib at all...not because he told me what I didn't want to hear and the astronomical price tag attached, but because his chairside manner was atrocious. I referenced a tooth and touched it, and he kind of scolded me telling "why are you touching your mouth"? like I was a toddler with a tone set in disdain. I am a medical professional and would hope to never make a patient feel ashamed of an action regardless of it being wrong or right. I wanted to run out of there instantly. My mistake for choosing a pretentious practice on the upper east side! I'm sure they do beautiful work, but if you have a budget please save your time and your 350 consultant fee. The dental assistant was the best part of the practice, she was so warm and kind...

Most of the people shudder at the thought of going to the dentist, but going to Dr Tabib and Dr Mello is a real pleasure. They are very personal, and one feels like visiting a dear family member, always take time to catch up with patients and always act with the best interest of patient at heart. Staff is likewise very friendly, caring and cooperative. After years of unhealthy treatment of my teeth and few of those with braces, I ended up spending a lot of time at dental office. Dr Mello so far worked on me and every single thing she did in my jaw over the last few years is still intact, looks beautiful and is durable. Even the things that were more aeasthetic but didn’t need fixing she corrected (piece of gum going over one tooth and poorely done root canal that blackened my tooth). I am really looking forward to fixing my other teeth once and for all with them instead of fixing somewhere at a lower price and then refix the fix multiple times. I am very happy with my choice of dentists, Dr Tabin and Dr Mello, for me and my family, and am strongly recommending them. They are super fun too just check them out on other social media. :-)

NYC Smile Design has basically become my second home this past year as I was getting treatment with Dr. Mello. The whole staff are so caring, always want to make sure you feel comfortable, so easy to get appointments...and honestly they are fun! (Never thought I'd say that about a dentist.) Dr. Mello made all my smile dreams come true, I know that sounds very corny...but when you hate your smile you laugh a little less and smile only when absolutely necessary. Life is a little less shiny when you have to try not to smile. After years of going to different cosmetic dentists only to be disappointed with the results, Dr. Mello was the first to actually make a difference and listen to what I wanted. She has a great eye (like an artist), and you can tell she is as happy as I am with the results...She cares about the results, and goes above and beyond to achieve the best results, no matter how hard the situation in front of her is. Eight years ago my teeth were a train wreck. Years of soda and acid reflux ate away the vast majority of the enamel on my teeth. Not only did Dr Tabib, identify the problem, but he worked with me to rectify the situation over the course of many months and help me make lifestyle changes to never get in this situation agian. I never told Dr Tabib this but after my initial work I cheated on NYC Smile Design and went to another dentist to make sure everything that could be done was done. I'll never forget what that dentist said. She said "I really don't know why you are here. This is the best work I've ever seen for an issue like yours. Youre in good hands." Eight years later my teeth are still in great condition and am a loyal patient and friend. Hopefully I'll never need major work again but if I do, I know I won't need a second opinion.

Hi so I’m one of those people that have an outrageous story that makes imperfect teeth sound like a nightmare . I am 25 and had braces on my teeth for about 13 years now. I have impacted teeth, teeth that are not aligned and everything under the nightmare. I’ve been to multiple and I mean MULTIPLE Dentist who have all sorta failed me or shot down my hopes. NOW today I’ve stepped into Dr Tabib and Dr Mello office with my hopes not as high as expected because of past experiences sadly. Honestly, every doubt, every fear, and every no felt like a yes. Mello & Tabib are stellar. My wife smashed her two front teeth in an accident years ago - looked like she bit into a square pipe...we were horrified and really didn't know who to contact. They took our late night emergency call (for prescriptions), slotted us in the following morning, and she walked out with gorgeous temps. It was nothing less than a phenomenal dental engineering feat. Soon after, these were replaced with equally gorgeous permanent caps. My wife loved them so much, she wanted to get *all* of her teeth redone. They're highly skilled, blending art and science like no other, and thus highly recommended.
