I have always been afraid of the dentist - ever since I had something called a Herbst(?) appliance stuck to the roof of my mouth around the time I had braces (traumatic!). Dr. Poiman and his team have alleviated all of my fears. They are the absolute best! I have visited five different dental hygienists there and they have all been equally patient, kind, gentle - and empathetic regarding my irrational fear of even a cleaning. I enthusiastically recommend this office - in addition to the above, they are consummate professionals.

After a bad experience with several dentists I was really lucky to find Dr. Poiman. He is really a top dentist- professional, very knowledgeable and patient. Dr Poiman is using the latest Dentistry Achievements in his practice. I feel that he cares about his patients and I appreciate his help. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Poiman and his staff. Almost everyone on my team goes to him now. They are prompt, thorough with cleanings and hopefully you never need any work on your teeth or mouth but if you do... they have the most state of the art equipment that makes it as painless as possible. Dr. Poiman is outstanding. He is conservative in care and only does what is necessary. I have been going to him for 6 years exclusively after a bad experience with my previous dentist. His equipment is state of the art and his team is top notch. Great bedside manner, feel very well taken care of. Today I had a new crown put in and a large old filling replaced on separate teeth, which was the first major work done by him since I've been going to his practice. Couldn't have been happier with the results. He actually has a machine in the office to make the crowns, so no need for a temp. A+++, highly recommend!!

I went to Dr. Poiman's office to get my wisdom tooth pulled. I have heard horror stories about how bad it hurts when you get your wisdom tooth pulled. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised because I did not feel anything when he pulled my teeth out. The recovery was also very fast and not painful at all. The girls at the office were very nice and helped me get relaxed and Dr. Poiman was very professional. I will be going back to get my teeth cleaned and whitened soon!

Deceiving Dentist Dr. Poiman Terrible experience , I will not go to Dr Poiman anymore . He tricked me into drilling into a healthy tooth , Dr Poiman has ruined and permanently compromised a healthy tooth with some vague promise of a protective layer over a tooth with a thin layer of enamel but otherwise without any issues , no cavity ,just a little browning , I never even notice anything unusual there ,but Dr Poiman pointed out that the enamel was thin and he could add a protective layer . He did NOT mention that he was going to drill a big hole and put a big filling there ,unnecessary in a healthy ,cavity free tooth , he just went on and drilled without even having my permission with full clear explanation of every detail of the procedure and steps. He made me believe that he was just going to add something over to protect it so I barely noticed when he started to drill because he was already drilling the tooth next to it to replace a fallen old filling , this is a very unpleasant old fashion trickery to set up a problem next to real one and start to work on it hoping the patient won't notice or give up to stop him when he finds out. I feel like a tooth has been stolen from me for his own enrichment , he'll probably make a case of beauty but I have never cared about beautiful teeth ,I only care about long lasting teeth but he just started the slow death of my tooth because once drilled a tooth will have to be drilled again in 5 years as he said ,setting up endless enrichment for himself and endless drilling and thinning of a healthy tooth until there is no more tooth ,putting the patient in the nightmare of dentures or worse implants ,pain ,suffering and expenses. Dr Poiman was good for me for over 10 so I trusted him blindly , that's why I didn't clearly oppose his idea of "covering a thin enamel" but I never gave clear consent to a full on deep procedure of drilling a filling than was never mentioned or clearly hidden in the promises of "covering a thin enamel" A dentist must say first the word "drilling" when explaining dental works that require drilling so that the patient knows that that tooth will be permanently compromised and start a slow death so they will make an informed decision as to if they accept losing that tooth later on and if it's worth it. If there is no cavity there is absolutely no reason nor need to drill a tooth , unless the patient requests clearly the drilling for aesthetic or other reasons. I have been angry , depressed and saddened since Dr Poiman ruined my tooth with his misleading promises. What Dr Poiman did to my healthy tooth brings him all the benefits (of forced repeated dental works) . It brings me zero benefits , a future of dental bills ,time wasted , pain and losing a healthy tooth for no reason. Alessandro R.

This is the first time I was getting my teeth whitened and they explained everything and detail and made me feel very comfortable. I will be going back again for my next cleaning and whitening. I have never felt more comfortable at a dentists office than I do with Dr. Poiman and his team. They work spectacularly as a unit and deliver the best customer service. Every time I am there I feel it is a unique, personal experience and my needs are always addressed. Front desk is exceptional and more than accommodating when I have had to a) cancel last minute b)arrived late or c) needed to get new molds made for my Invisalign (I swear I'm going to be better about it guys ). Additionally, I had not one, not two, but three different dental insurance providers (thanks mom&dad) that Tanya was adeptly able to apply to my treatment despite the extra work and inconvenience it caused on her behalf. I think teeth whitening is next on the books for me ladies, what do you think? And the rest of you obviously know where I'll be going to get that done.

The New York Center for Esthetic and Laser Dentistry is the ideal combination between professionalism and comfort in regards to dental practice. The facilities are clean, the people are friendly, and the procedures are not complicated. Going to another facility after Dr. Poiman's would be simply unreasonable. The entire process was streamlined and fast; there was no need for anesthetic or any kind of humming agent when removing a cavity, just excellent laser work by Dr. Poiman. I was a bit skeptical at first about the whole laser process, but after one session, I can instantly understand that this is the place where I'll be going to have my teeth cared for. I never once felt uncomfortable and I believe that's the key for modern dental care. Dr. Poiman is definitely the professional right now who maintains that standard.
