The Dental Assistants are amazing, I work at a dental office in my town we travel 200 miles to come and see the wonderful staff because they do so well with my son. I took my at the time 4 year old little girl to visit Sandia and our 1st experience was good. The staff was great with my daughter and I felt confident that this was the place where she would have her dental needs met. She needed to be asleep for her procedure at a main hospital due to the amount of work she needed done. She was born with a cleft pallet and most of her teeth needed work. She needed to be completely healthy in order to be put to sleep. I had taken my little girl to several different dentists before finding Sandia. I just wanted the best for her. Over a 1 year span I had to cancel 3 appointments for her treatment due to her catching a cold before the procedure date. Each time I rescheduled right away, but the wait time is around 3 months. I made this aware to the staff at Sandia on our 1st visit and they said that it happens a lot and they understood. Durning the waiting periods between cancelled appointments, she would need an antibiotic to help with pain from the infection. I even had to have one tooth pulled because it was so far gone and causing her pain. I also have insurance what today would be considered very good dental insurance. The out of pocket expenses for her treatment and had to be paid in full to the Dr. and a separate bill to the hospital before the procedure is around 3000 dollars 1000 more than I was expecting. I let Sandia know that I would need time to come up with this $ and they said they understood. Over Thanksgiving my little girl needed an antibiotic so she would not be in pain. They were reluctant to call it in and the were out of the office for the Holiday and could not see her. After making an appointment to see them right after the Holiday, they did call it in. I had been talking to the office manager that I have spoken to on many occasions . The manager surprised me by becoming quite rude with me . I was informed that an antibiotic would not fix the issues with my daughters teeth and that treatment was needed. I told her I was well aware of that and this was only the 2nd time in 6 months I have asked for an antibiotic. I asked if there was any other choice and she said no there was not. She was well aware of the reasons, in fact her and I had spoken more than once about my daughters situation and she knew I was doing everything I could to get her treated. Her tone and her words were belittling. I decided at that moment that Sandia would not be a good choice for us. As soon as the Holiday was over, I made a new appointment with another provider. Within 4 months of my 1st appointment with the new Dr. , my daughter now has undergone the procedure and all of her teeth are fixed. Sandia called CYFD And reported me for medical neglect! They did not ask me if I was seeking treatment elsewhere . The case was found unsubstantiated right away because I already had my daughter involved with treatment elsewhere. I feel that Sandia retaliated and passed judgement. They were unprofessional. I have raised 6 children with love and I did not appreciate Sandia trying to hurt my family.

My kids are sooooo excited to go to the dentist (it cracks me up)! I love how great the staff are with them and appreciate so much how Dr. Sjostrom listens to me and my concerns and lets me be a part of the decision making and care of my children's oral health. I would recommend this office and this dentist to anyone!

Dr. Sjostrom did an awesome job with my children. My three year old was very nervous once she got in the chair and the Dr. calmed her down. He is great with kids! The whole office was friendly and inviting. The office was very clean and modern. When checking out the services were explained to me very clear on my bill. I would recommend Sandia Pediatric to anyone looking for a excellent Pediatric Dentist.

I have brought my two sons, 5 & 3, to see Dr. Sjostrom and it was the best dental experience I could have hoped for. Their office is very kid friendly and the staff is amazing! Both dental assistants made my children feel comfortable and explained each step in the process and allowed them to feel the various cleaning tools before beginning. Dr. Sjostrom is also great with the kids and really explains the detail to the parents. We are very happy to have found Sandia Pediatric Dentistry.

We have been going to Dr Sjostrom at Sandia Pediatric Dentistry for about 4 years now and always have such a wonderful experience there. The staff is very friendly, helpful and courteous. The waiting room is filled with activities for the kids such as video games, a big screen TV, books and a train table. The exam room also has a TV with current kids movies playing. The Dr and hygenists make sure their patients have a pleasant experience, by working with parents and doing what your child is comfortable with. After the visit, your child is given not only a dental goodie bag, but a xylitol tooth shaped lollipop, a sticker AND a quarter for the bouncy ball machine! I wish the dentist was this much fun when I was growing up!!

We have been to see Dr. Sjostrom many times now. I have 4 kids who have all been seen and treated at his office. We love it here! His office is very nice and very kid friendly. When you come in there are movies to watch and a video game to play which my kids loved. Dr. Sjostrom is great with the kids, he is very competent in what he does and he is very good at explaining the different options if treatment is needed and pros/cons of each choice. Two of my kids have had to get shots and never even knew they got them! His whole staff is very friendly to everyone and I have never been to a dentist where the staff is so helpful with explaining cost I owe and what insurance will cover. Every experience in Dr. Sjostrom's office has been a good one. We have had many dentists because we have moved quite a bit and we are very happy here. My youngest likes it so much that when any of my other kids have an appointment he begs to come too. Thanks Dr. Sjostrom and staff!

This dentistry is really racist, they are really good when they are in time of taking payment but when it is time for work they suck. we were late for 15 minutes and they cancelled our schedule and tried to reschedule it to 2 months later which was really ridiculous. They did it on purpose because we were Muslim and my wife was wearing a scarf. I will do my best to inform about this dentistry in every platform starting from today. My daughter has a tooth ache but they are just saying me we are sorry...totally ridiculous staff.

Dr. Sjostrom has been our pediatric dentist for our children for the last two years; he and his staff are excellent! Very knowledgeable, skilled, friendly, great with young kids, helping them feel calm, comfortable exam rooms, latest technology, overhead videos for kids to watch during cleaning, waiting room has play area, Thomas train set, video games, clean family restroom. Kids have a positive experience and are getting excellent dental care. Highly recommended!

Sandia Pediatric Dentistry was phenomenal. Their rooms are private and very clean which makes it for a comfortable visit. The staff and the doctors are very knowledgeable. They gave us wonderful information pertaining to our 2 year old. Are two year old was uncooperative but the staff nor the doctor seem to be bothered by this. They administered his fluoride treatment very quickly and thoroughly. I will recommend Sandia Pediatric Dentistry to everyone I know who has children. We are looking forward to Future visits. This is hands-down the best dental office in the Duke City.

Dr Sjostrom is awesome. We are in Albuquerque visiting from Texas and my daughter developed a small issue. They worked us in same day and were incredibly flexible. My daughter is usually dentist phobic but Dr Sjostrom made her very comfortable. I would come back in a heartbeat.

This is the fourth pediatric dentist that I have taken my autistic son to and Dr. Sjostrom will be our last. Dr. Sjostrom was compassionate and patient with my son's sensitivities and my son was more cooperative than he has ever been. I appreciated that Dr. Sjostrom took time to talk to me about each of my three children who saw him that day. He recommended a procedure for my daughter, but was honest about its urgency and gave me his contact information if I had any further questions or concerns. In the end, my children didn't want to leave the office because the waiting area was so fun--big screen TVs, Xbox, and iPads.

At first when my husband and I learned of all the necessary work my 6 year old needed, I was in utter shock! But then Dr. Sjostrum took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on with our son, and the exact procedures that he recommended. What we really appreciated today, was again the patience and thorough explanation he was going to do, along with even seeing Dr. Sjostrum's compassion and playful side with Emery, not just as his dentist, but as a father of 4 as well. I know he took great care of his teeth, but looked out for his wellbeing as well. So Sjostrum kiddos, you can be proud of your daddy today. :) Emery's anethesiologist, she was wonderful as well! She was also very thorough, made sure all of our questioned were answered, and promised to take great care of our son, and she did. All of the staff we encountered today were excellent at the hospital today, including Dr. Sjostrumof course! We also want to commend all of the nurses today @ Lovelace Westside that helped with Emery, including Steve, who stayed by his side making sure he was ok until we left. Thank you for taking great care of our son! We'll recommend both Dr. Sjostrum & Lovelace Westside to everyone!

I would highly recommend Dr. Sjostrom and his staff to anyone! From the moment you walk in you can tell the time and effort put forth to make the environment friendly and welcoming to kids and parents alike. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen (although my kids might have enjoyed more time in the fun waiting room). I'm also impressed with Dr. Sjostrom and his staff taking time to answer questions and explain things thoroughly without making you feel rushed. I have two inquisitive little girls who always have so many questions. On one visit, the hygienist explained to my 4 year old exactly how the tools were sanitized and showed her where it was done. Another visit, Dr. Sjostrom explained each step of the examination to her sister and answered questions along the way. I guess my point is that you can tell they ENJOY working with children! As a teacher I would give 10 stars for the fact that they take the time to encourage my girl's questions! As of now one wants to be a dentist because of Sandia Pediatric Dentistry!

This is the best pediatric dentistry my daughters have seen, and I would highly recommend it. It's very kid friendly and both kids did great during their visit. My oldest had to have a cavity filled and Dr. Sjostrom was very great with her. I was a little worried before the visit but shouldn't have been. I'm so relieved to have found Sandia Pediatric Dentistry.

Our family came across Sandia Pediatric Dentistry last year when they invited a homeschooling group in for a tour to the office. Dr. Danen Sjostrom was a welcoming host for us and was very knowledgeable and able to answer a variety of questions from both the parents and the kids. Even better, he was friendly and personable with the kids. Recently, our 8 year old daughter who suffers from anxiety had to receive a little extra dental work which she was quite scared about. The dental assistant was incredible explaining the entire process to her, letting her feel all the equipment as well as "practice" using the equipment before the treatment actually began. What an amazing experience! We have found our new home at Sandia Pediatric Dentistry and could not be more happy!

My preschooler had to get a filling done, and I was worried she wouldn't be very cooperative. But everyone at the office was so helpful and patient with her that she had a great experience, and they got it done so quickly! My son also had to have a filling, and was a little nervous about it. But again everyone made him feel comfortable (they even brought him a blanket when he was cold!) and got it taken care of without a problem. I wish I could have come to this office when I was a kid.

I was impressed with the staff from the first phone call I made to make an appointment, and our visit continued to impress! Dr. Sjostrom was so personable my children immediately liked him! I liked how he talked me through each x-ray and mouth (I have 4 children). Everyone on staff had a smile when working with the kids, and my children really enjoyed their exams and cleanings. When we returned for fillings and sealants, again, the experience was a five star rating. I also liked how I was able to fill out all the paperwork over the internet before we showed up for our first visit. I would certainly recommend Sandia Pediatric Dentistry!

Wow! Everything about Dr. Sjostrom and the Sandia Pediatric Dentistry office is kid-friendly, designed to put children at ease and make their first experiences at the dentist positive, fun, and easy. I took my four-year-old daughter and two-year-old twin daughters in this morning, and as we left they asked "when can we go back to the dentist?" The office is clean, with bright colors and comfortable spaces. The waiting room has some ipads, a video game, TV with a movie playing, and train table -- of course, we didn't get to use that space very much because the hygienist called us back almost as soon as we arrived. My daughters' favorite part is the TV screen mounted on the ceiling above the dentist chair. They could watch Tinkerbell while their teeth were cleaned! Leah, the hygienist, was very calming and showed my daughters each piece of the equipment before she used it on them. She explained what she was going to do and was very gentle with them. Dr. Sjostrom explained to me what he saw in each of their mouths, showing me their x-rays and explaining what we are doing well and what we need to work on. The entire family was invited back with the dental patient, so I was able to be there with my daughters when they were in the chair and my younger daughters were able to see my oldest daughter go through the procedure before it was their turn. I highly recommend Dr. Sjostrom for any children's dentistry services!

My kids love this dentist. They have had a few different dentists and never have they left one with a smile on their face like they do from here. My 5 year old had her first loose tooth and it needed to come out. Talked with them and he pulled the tooth without her even noticing. She still left with a smile and so excited for the tooth fairy. The office is amazing! My kids were excited to wait in the waiting room while I filled out my paper work on an office I-pad. They watched a movie while they were getting their teeth worked on. The staff all loves kids, and are so good with them. They didn't cut corners when investing in the business, and it shows. I was able to get right in with an appointment for all three of my children.

We have lived in Albuquerque for many years and been to our share of pediatric dentists - I think we've finally found a good fit for our family. I was very impressed with this office on our first visit and my six year old can't wait to go back. He loved the video games in the waiting room and the movie he was able to watch on the ceiling while he was getting his teeth cleaned. I loved the ease of making appointments (and having to change it a couple times due to my scheduling conflicts) and the friendliness of the staff. The hygienist was very patient with my son, who loves to talk and tell stories, and she really made him feel comfortable. Dr. Sjostrom was awesome and I felt like he included me in all the dental talk and helped me understand each step he was taking. He even took the time to answer questions about a child I didn't even have with me that day. We are new to the area and so happy we found Sandia Pediatric Dentistry. It was such a great experience from scheduling an appointment to the end of the visit. The office is very clean and welcoming with bright colors. Dr. Sjostrom and his staff are wonderful and were amazing with our kids. After the appointment my 7 year old daughter said that dentist was so cool and everyone that worked there was so nice, when can we go back? From the waiting room to the exam, I loved everything about this dental office. Amanda was the dental assistant that worked with my daughter and she was excellent. My daughter is usually very anxious about seeing the dentist, but Amanda helped put her at ease by taking her on a tour of the office while I filled out paperwork. When it came time for the chair to lay down, my daughter became anxious and stubborn, but Amanda was patient and helped my child work through her fear of falling off of the chair. I've taken my daughter to two other dental offices was told that she would need multiple fillings, Dr. Sjostrom found that that was not the case and explained everything thoroughly. Because of this positive experience my daughter is now looking forward to her next appointment. Thank you Sandia Pediatric Dentistry!

I loved this dental experience just as much as my kids did! I was glad that they worked with my schedule and I was able to bring in all three of them at the same time. I am a dental hygienist and I was impressed that Dr. Sjostrom has a hygienist there to clean my kids teeth, most pediatric offices don't. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgable and able to answer all my treatment questions and put me at ease. My insurance questions were all answered right away by the wonderful front desk staff. The games and movies kept the kids comfortable and occupied. Take your kids to this office, you will not be disappointed!

We absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is perfect, calm and relaxing. When you walk in the nice ladies up front are so reapectful as they welcome you in. They always have essential oils diffusing. This adds a nice home like environment. After the super easy process of checking in kids can enjoy a movie, toys, and/or play their ps4 gaming system. Once called back the wonderful staff makes sure everyone is cozy and feels safe. They are so amazing at decribing everything they are going to do and their mannerism is perfect. They let the patient chose a movie to watch to keep them comfortable. When the procedure is over the patient gets a sticker, a sf sugar, a quarter to get a prize from their quarter machine. They get a toothbrush pack too. And trust me we always leave with smiles! They do a professional job in good timing. No one would be uneasy in this place. We highly recommend them!
