Dr. Akosa and Chanda are an amazing team! I am a new patient and I have had more needed work done in the last month than I have had done over a longer period at any previous dentist. I am happy and the work is quality. Dr. Akosa suggested a specialist evaluation to avoid an unnecessary repair, avoiding any unnecessary dental work...thank you! Chanda is my dream assistant, she kept me calm at each dental visit and has a calming spirit that nullifies and dental anxieties. I am very happy with RHUDA. I must also salute the front receptionist team...Top notch and on point, respectful of clients time and cordial. "A great place for dental care!"

My experience with Rutgers University Health Dental Associates in New Brunswick, N.J. is great. They have excellent services, very comfortable environment and the Associates are so pleasant and helpful. Making and rescheduling appointment is easy, they gave me appointment at my earliest convenient time. When I was there they called me to see the Doctor exactly the time when my appointment was, So practically there was no waiting time. They value patient's time which is very respectable. I was there to see Doctor Sowmya Ananthan (Orofacial pain management) reffered by an Endodontist for having serious muscle spasm on back of my head due to some excessive Dental works in short period of time with a wrong Dentist. I had CT. Scan and MRI and the result was normal but the pain was still there. I was so frustrated because the pain was so severe that , I could not sleep or work and most of the morning I woke up with pain and thought I would not survive. So first time when I saw Dr. Sowmia Ananthan, she listened to my problem very passionately and told me once she can find out the real reason it can be treated and I will be fine. That gave me so much hope. She did all her test on me and found out that I was having Occipatal neuralgia which causing the muscle spasm on the back of the head ,neck and also causing the balance problem. She treated me for the pain and recommended Physical therapy. Within two weeks I was feeling better and within a month my pain went down. Now I can work and I can live my life again. I am so grateful to Dr. Sowmia Ananthan and may God bless her. I want to mention about Program Administrator Latonya Johnson and Clinical Service Representative Adela Aleman, they are so polite, always eager to help and with any questions, I have received immediate responds from them .I want to Thank them from the bottom of my heart. I am looking forward to have Dental services in the future for me and my family.

Very unprofessional place. From the office to their suppose Oral Surgeons which are interns. Adache is the only real Oral Surgeon there. But he has no manners and just rude when you ask a question. Only one of the Oral surgeon intern I had in November was awesome and knowledgeable. He had blonde hair but I can't remember his name. But the rest are just horrible. Now the one I went to in February it was for tooth extraction. This new intern didn't even want to numb my gums up before putting in the needle for the anesthesia. I had to tell him please put numbing cream first because my gums are very sensitive. As he was taking the tooth out I kept making noises from the pain and he said to stop making noises because it distracts him. I really wanted to slap him by then. When he took the tooth out he said all done and then thank god the Oral Surgeon came in and asked him if he put sutures on me. The intern said "Oh I forgot". Just unbelievable. Especially for a Rutgers student. Anyway I still had another tooth extraction appt for tomorrow and today I get a call from the office that they had to cancel my appt because something came up with the intern. I'm like thank god I already scheduled elsewhere and wasn't even planning on going back to them. If you want to be treated with respect while getting dental work done which is painful go elsewhere because you won't find that here.

After what seemed like a cursory initial exam, the dentist lobbied for me to have the deep cleaning procedure like a used car saleman. Even after I informed her I wasn't interested, she sent in the head hygienist to try and further persuade me. The attitude and bedside manner of Dr Akosa was unpleasant and unprofessional. When I brought to her attention that I was feeling pain and discomfort, she became offended when I suggested she use a different tact regarding my care. She was verbally defensive when I questioned her methodology and instead of having a dialogue, she literally through a fit, exclaiming that she was the director of the facility, refused to treat me, or allow anyone else to treat me and dischraged me from the practice. All after having injected me with 3 shots of novocaine! I've never had a health professional who was not open to listen patient concerns or answer questions regarding care. She displayed a condescending attitude and I found her aversion to simply having a dialogue regarding my treatment to be rude, disrespectful and demeaning. Definitely NOT someone you want to have their hands in your mouth while laying prone in a dental chair.

Came to Rutgers for school but never had a dental issue till sophomore year. Was skeptical at first, but after the second visit was confident they were great. In fact they were better than my typical dentist that i went to before Rutgers and made me realize i could do better, and found another dentist to go to once i leave Rutgers Although, I only know of one actual dentist there she does work quick and effectively. It took her an average of about half an hour to remove cavities and fix them as well. The staff from all the visits i have had are all welcoming and easy to get along with as well. Only downside is once i'm done with college have to go back to my home in another state and get another dentist.

I also was given false information about my dental insurance. I hadecided great faith in the dentist and surgeon, but the staff out front definitely have an attitude. Parking is very far away. Be prepared to wait.

Clean office. Amazing staff. Had to get 3 wisdom teeth removed impacted and infected. Answered all my questions. Made me feel comfortable and safe during my procedure. Highly recommended office and I am very particular. Dr_Anayo_ Adachi in the New Brunswick office was my oral surgeon. Got my IV in the first time. Didn’t feel any pain during the procedure. Followed up with a call to check in on my recovery. Made a difference in my oral health this office has my respect!

I am the classic case of 'dental phobia.' But unfortunately, when a nagging pain in your mouth demands attention you must address your fears. I called Rutgers Health University Dental Associates for an appointment. I explained my fear of the dentist; the lady (I'm sorry I can't remember her name she sits at the front desk) was EXTREMELY pleasant and calming. She said don't worry I will make an appointment with Dr. Akosa. She assured me I would like Dr. Akosa. Dr. Akosa listen to me as I ranted about my fear of the dentist. She was so calm and said don't worry we will take care of you. The technician took x-rays, Dr. Akosa explained the care I needed and the full treatment plan and gave me a cleaning and pointers to improve my flossing (yes I was tense during the cleaning). When it came time for the real dental work to begin (fillings and root canal) I was apprehensive and tense. I only felt a very minor pinch for the anesthesia injection. Dr. Akosa kept reassuring me I was doing great! I was in and out of the chair in 30 minutes! The next time I went, I was not fearful and I was in and out of the office in less than 30 minutes. I HIGHLY recommended Rutgers Health University Dental Associates. Very professional office, pleasant staff and punctual!

As a retired dentist who wound up relocating to New Jersey, I was faced with selecting a new dental care provider for myself, especially after some recent medical treatment left me with several severe and complex dental problems. Knowing as an insider that not all dentists are created equal, I thoroughly investigated my options to find someone who I felt maintained an uncompromising philosophy of excellence and possessed the surgical expertise to handle the multifaceted areas of dental disease for which I needed treatment. Fortunately, I found the Rutgers Faculty Practice. In so many instances I have been favorably impressed, from the time and effort spent in making sure of the correct diagnosis, the unselfish sharing of the facts of my case amongst the general dentists and specialists to ensure that the best treatment plan was arrived at, the skill and artistry of the dentists providing my treatment, the professionalism of the staff, as well as the friendly, caring and courteous service displayed by the dentists and each and every staff member. Furthermore, knowing that each dentist in this practice is on faculty at Rutgers Dental School, an institution of renowned excellence and staffed by some of the world’s best educators, and that the dental facility was just recently constructed, has assured me that I will be receiving the most up-to-date care by dentists that I can trust in the most modern, state-of -the-art facility. I highly recommend the faculty practice at Rutgers in New Brunswick.

I've been going here for the past year and absolutely love it. The workers are very professional, eager to get to know me on a personal level, and always timely with appointments. My dentist gives me good tips during my cleaning to help keep my teeth in tip top shape in between visits. Plus, the location is very convenient for me to walk to, living in downtown NB. I highly recommend this be your new dentist office!

My dentist of 25 years retired 2-3 years ago and I kept putting off starting with a new dentist, though since a child I have been going 2 times a year (plus work). I am glad I waited! Finding Dr. Akosa and the office staff at Rutgers Health University Dental Association was well worth it. I have difficult teeth and Dr. Akosa working seamlessly with her technician made returning to dental care easy and comfortable and, of course, painless. My two sons followed me after several months and were extremely happy with the care. My wife is next in line. The office staff is extremely helpful, and very personable. Parking is around the corner and free when they stamp your ticket.
