My 3 year old daughter had a very traumatizing dental experience elsewhere 6 months ago that left her with a severe fear of the dentist. We switched here because our pediatric recommended them. They were wonderful with my daughter and with me. They made her feel as safe and comfortable as possible and even though she was scared and upset they kept a calm composure and worked with us safely and compassionately. They offered to split the session (exam and cleaning) as to not traumatize her further and so that she will hopefully be less fearful coming back next time and it wasn’t “so much at once”. The office was clean and very fun and kid-friendly. All staff I came in contact with (reception, hygienist, and dentist) were all professional, compassionate, and extremely friendly. Very excited to bring my daughter back and hopefully slowly work towards making her more and more comfortable with dental visits.

My son was VERY nervous about having x-rays. Michelle did a fantastic job explaining everything to him step by step. She never lost her patience and calmly talked him through the entire process. When the Dr. came in to review the x-rays she noticed some areas of concern and simply stated she need to recount his teeth. My son had no idea she was checking for cavities. Great experience all around!

Many of these posts talk about the general dentistry in the office, so I'd like this review to be for those parents whose children (like 2 of mine) need more extensive dental work under general anesthesia. My son at 2 cracked a tooth on a deck when he fell, and we brought him to Dr.Manella to fix it. We found out that he had severe decay from baby bottle/extended nursing at night. It was suggested to us that in order to do all the work, that Gabriel be placed under general anesthesia. As a parent, this was a scarey prospect, but I knew his pain and problems would only get worse if we delayed. We decided to go ahead with the procedure at Morristown Memorial. When going to the hospital, we needed a pre-op exam from our pediatritan (this is not needed in the in office work as the children's anesthesiologist does the pre-exam before the procedure). Dr.Manella kept us informed as far as what we were to expect, time frame (though he did say it could take longer if he did the xrays and found more issues). From start to finish Dr.Manella showed great care, concern and compassion. He was wonderful with my son. He explained the work he did, and what to expect going forward. So much goes into checking into a hospital, getting discharged, etc. We were there pretty much an ENTIRE day. We arrived early AM and got home at around 4pm. This was very different than the in office experience. Fast forward 5 years, and my now 2 year old daughter was facing the same issues. She had gone in for a few fillings, and it was very hard for her. She was scared of the sound of the drill. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL, and they were so calm and reassuring to her, but she wasn't having it! Dr.Manella told me it would be more of the same over extended visits to complete all the work. He told me that there was now and 'in office' option for the general anesthesia, or I could still have it at the hospital. After researching the anesthesiologist that Dr.Manella had chosen, Dr.Barnes, we decided that we would go with the in-office work. I have to say, for us personally (every parent obviously has to make the best decision for their own child), the in office was so much better for us. Dr.Barnes (anesthesiologist) SOLELY monitors your child while the work is done by Dr.Manella and team. Dr.Barnes focuses on the vitals of the child, and is fully prepared with a crash cart in the event of a medical emergency. He was funny, personable- and the thing I DREADED the most- the IV for my two year old with no visible veins in her arms- he got it right away, and Dr.Manella provided support so the child doesn't even know the needle is going in unti it is pretty much over. The office staff kept me informed of the progress throughout, and we were in and out in about 3 hours time. Both Dr.Barnes and Dr.Manella followed up on our daughter the afternoon of and the day following to make sure she was doing well. I know it is a heart-wrenching thing to think about having your child go under general anesthesia, but for us, it was the only option we felt would get our daughter the best result. She has no recollection of any of it, and now we know all her dental work is done and she will be set for protecting those teeth until the big kid teeth come in. All in all, I feel that the in office benefits of time, cost, staffing, and follow up made this the option we will choose if we ever had to again in the future. Thank you to Dr.Manella, Dr.Barnes, Anna and Erika for all your help in making Ella's smile look beautiful, and this entire ordeal less crazy! I hope this review helps parents contemplating this option. We've had two successes and the best part is they are not scared of the dentist!

I was anticipating this to be very difficult with my two year old- I could not imagine how they were going to get him to cooperate and open his mouth and sit still. I was beyond pleasantly surprised when we got there. They are AMAZING. The waiting room is designed for children so it was easy to fill out paperwork because there were things for my son to do. Once in the office, Amanda the hygienist was wonderful with him- showing him the tools, talking to him about what she was doing, listening to my concerns. She got him to open and was able to scrap his teeth and do a fluoride treatment. At the end he got a "goody bag" and a sticker and a prize. He loved it and spoke of it for days afterward!

We had our son's first dental checkup at Pediatric Dental Associates and we are very pleased with our experience. The office is very comfortable and my son was not bored while we waited, he loved the big fish tank and all the toys in the waiting room. Thank you to Dr. Mannella and his entire staff for another great dental experience. My children have been going there for a long time (approx. 10 years or more) and every time we leave feeling very relaxed and pleased with the experience. I have to be honest that I personally cringe when I have to go to the dentist (not sure why) ... but this office eases my children's anxiety as well as my own. We saw Dr. Russo on Friday to see if there were other less invasive options to having dental work done for my special needs child. She was calm and extremely patient with both myself and my child along with the other dental assistant in the room. She gave us the option of applying Silver Diamine Flouride onto her two cavities instead of having them be filled. This treatment helps stop the cavities from spreading/getting worse and it takes a minute for the fluid to work/set onto the teeth. Because of this treatment, we can prolong my child having extensive dental work done under general anesthesia at the local hospital, which would be more traumatic for my child and extremely expensive. I am extremely grateful that we were offered this treatment and that Dr. Russo understood our financial situation. She was so good with my child that after the treatment, my child didn't want to leave. The entire staff at Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph are all equally amazing! I am so grateful we came back for a second visit/second opinion and that everything worked out well for us.

I am so impressed with all of the staff here! Highly professional, yet able to communicate with small children to make the experience a positive one. My 3.5 year old is excited to brush and floss her teeth more than ever! As a first time parent, I also learned some great tips for helping clean the tough to reach places and the best way to floss in between those tiny teeth! Having to find a dentist for your kids isn't easy. Everything has to be right to make you children comfortable and to start them early with excellent dental hygiene. I am happy to say that the facility here is clean, cheery and inviting. The office staff is welcoming, eager to help and answer your questions. The office manager, Anna, went above and beyond for us to ensure everything we needed was covered (billing and otherwise) and she keeps a talented staff around her willing to help you. The hygienist, Fatemeh, has excellent attention to detail and her mannerism with children is superb, a true professional. Dr. Mannella and Dr. Mary Beth of course rounds out the office with excellent communication and planning along with a wonderful interaction when working with children. This is a stellar place to take your kids for their needed dental exams and treatments.

This was my daughter's first dental visit ever and she was a little hesitant before we arrived. Once we walked into the office, the child friendly atmosphere was beyond words. All the walls are full of animal themes in nice bright colors with a nice big fish tank. My daughter was the best patient. She was calm and happy because Dr. Park and Michelle were fantastic with her, as well as the awesome office staff. My 5 year old daughter needed a cavity filled and had a lot of fear and anxiety. The dentist was GREAT and eased her mind. It was a positive experience. I would give a 5 star rating but the only reason I do not is because as a full time working mom all year round (12 months) I do not have summers off and the office hours are reduced in the summer making it increasingly difficult for working parents to schedule appointments without having to take PTO, especially when there isn't many PTO days. Other than this, it is a great place and everyone there is so nice.

I cannot day enough about how wonderful Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph is! The reception staff are always so well organized and friendly. The office is clean and so kid friendly - brightly decorated, cheerful and immaculately kept. The hygienist staff is, without a doubt, the most wonderful, warm, comforting group of individuals I have ever had the pleasure of taking my boys to see for any sort of check-up. And the dentists are second to none - SUCH amazing bedside manner! My seven year old has flawless teeth thanks to them, and my two year old ADORES going to the dentist! My husband and I were naturally deathly afraid of the idea of having to bring our 18 month daughter in who unfortunately fell and injured her front tooth. From the first appointment with xrays, everyone was so welcoming and kind- they suggested giving the tooth time to heal instead of just jumping to pull it. Unfortunately circumstances caused things to progress quickly and 2 days later, we did have to go back to have the tooth extracted. For as much fear as I had and lack of sleep the night before, Dr Mannella and his staff calmed the entire environment and made it as bearable as possible with his gentle tone and was very straight forward which we appreciated. The procedure itself was quick and, though not the most pleasant, it’s over and done with now and our daughter was back to smiling within a couple minutes! All of the receptionists and technicians were very helpful and welcomed us to attend events they participate with. We will definitely be bringing our son in for his first cleaning and when she’s ready, her first cleaning too!

My experience and that of my children has been always been great at the Pediatric Dental Associates. Last week both my kids had appointments in the morning and of course,I had to forget it! This was my first time with the practice and I am impressed with the prompt responsiveness. My son age 4 had an emergency, with his two front teeth, and the office got us an appointment first thing in the morning. We saw Dr. Tenner. She was really great with my son, distracting him with stories, so that he wouldn't think about the procedure being done on him. She was very kid friendly and so was the staff. Everyone was great about explaining things and making sure that I understood. I would highly recommend this practice!!

It’s hard to convey ALL the things that are so wonderful about Dr. MaryBeth! Our daughter, Sofia, was unexpectedly born with a cleft palate in 2013. We met Dr MaryBeth when Sofia was only two days old. Literally from our first meeting, and every single time since, she has been a calm, kind, extremely knowledgeable, and always supportive member of her care. We have dealt with hypoplastic enamel with multiple cavities as a result, a tooth abscess, a broken tooth, and multiple visits for other questions and issues. Dr. MaryBeth and her staff have ALWAYS made my daughter and myself feel at ease and well supported through it all. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they all are. I would never take my kids anywhere else for their dental care. They are the best!

My 4 year old is a patient here, and she enjoys coming. The colorful waiting room (well equipped with toys, fish tanks, a TV with kids shows, etc.) is always a hit. Dr. Russo is both a competent professional, and caring dentist. During our first cavity filling, she made it both a learning experience and a "game" for my daughter. She showed my daughter the majority of tools, and how they worked, and put everything in the context of cleaning the teeth. Even the drill (all adults cringe at the sound) was a "whistle." The time passed quickly and before we knew it, we were done and it was time to collect our prizes and stickers. So while filling a cavity will never be confused with exploring a playground, kudos to Pediatric Dental, Dr. Russo, and hygienist Melanie for making it just about a pleasant experience as you could imagine.

Exceptional care in a crisis. My 12 year old daughter Casey has been going to PDA of Randolph for several years. Last month, her orthodontist told us that before he could put braces on, she needed to have 4 teeth extracted. As you can imagine, this was no small thing. Everything went fine at first. The group is absolutely great at handling children, and the actual extraction was much quicker than expected. However, as we were leaving, my daughter fainted. She has diabetes, and it is not unusual at this age to suffer fainting spells. She smacked her nose on the floor, which caused significant bleeding. The team lept into action. Everyone from her dentist to the office manager to the assistants was right on top of it. In the end, everything was ok (though she did get a trip in an ambulance.) I share this because I am so grateful for the way they treated her and me, at that moment. They also called us afterwards just to see how she was doing. I would have given them 5 stars before this experience. I'd give them more now if Google allowed it.

My twins have been going to Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph for 3.5 years. We've always had a pleasant experience and my twins have always looked forward to going to see the dentist. On Friday (June 8) I brought my son in to have a cavity filled. We had a very unpleasant visit with Mary Beth Giacona. After leaving the office, I was contacted and assured that this experience would never happen again and if my son was able to meet with Dr. Mannella they would make sure his fears and concerns were addressed. We met with Dr. Mannella on June 20th. Dr. Mannella took his time with my son. He explained his every move and made sure my son was comfortable with the process. Any fears that was instilled in my son from his previous visit was erased due to the patience, understanding and comfort that Dr. Mannella provided. My faith was also restored in this incredible practice that took the time to speak with me and reassured me that they will always have my son and daughter’s best interest in mind.

I took my 6 year old here today and was blown away by the service, office staff and dentist. They were all so caring and gentle with my daughter. The hand painted sea theme and safari paintings all over the office made it feel safe and inviting for her. She was very nervous to be seen and made it out like a champ! April - our hygienist really took extra time with her and made sure she was always comfortable and knew everything that was going to happen. Dr. Mary Beth was excellent too! It is so important to find a good dentist for your kids, especially since fears develop early. I found a gem in this office. Cant wait to bring my son there and refer some friends. You will not be disappointed!

I grew up afraid of dentists. Because of this, I have had extensive treatments as an adult. I didn't want my son to have the same fears as I had growing up, but I wasn't sure how to make sure he'd have a good experience. I did a lot of research and had a lot of questions. Pediatric Dental Associates came highly recommended by friends and neighbors, so we gave it a try. As soon as we walked in, my son was immediately drawn to the play area and fish tank. The murals were inviting, and he thought he was at a play date! I proceeded to the reception area to check in while he played. Erika and Jaycee and Anna at the front desk were informative and patient. When my son was brought back for his appointment, he was met with more murals of jungle scenes and animal masks. Mabel, the hygienist, was so reassuring. My son, a toddler, thought the whole experience was a fun game. She was very gentle, and my son loved showing off his sparkly teeth. Dr. Mary Beth answered all my questions, and my son left with a prize and a winning smile. I'm not afraid that my son will grow up with the same dental fears I had anymore. I wish I found this office years ago! The service is amazing, everyone is so sweet, sincere, and helpful. The hygienist, Fatemah is AMAZING! She took care of both my son's age 2 & 7. My 7 year old was traumatized from previous dental work he had done elsewhwre and his unbiased review of the office was that "he had a BLAST! " No tears, no fears, she is absolutely amazing! My 2 year old son also had a wonderful first experience. For once in my life I'm looking forward to taking my kids to the dentist!

The doctor physically restrained my son and caused marks on my son's face when my son became agitated during a procedure. We went to this doctor because of hearing how great they were! We would advise anyone to carefully monitor any visit with the doctor and make sure the doctor does not become frustrated. My son remains traumatized from the incident!

Both of my girls 5 & 7 yrs old used to be nervous going to the dentist before switching to this Pediatric dentistry office....They actually get happy when they go for their cleanings! My 7 yr old needed a baby tooth pulled that just wasn't coming out and the entire staff were wonderful and very compassionate about her anxiety. She left there smiling and so did I. I feel the office décor and colors are welcoming and again the entire staff all are wonderful and always helpful, patient and caring!!!
