Dr. Caruso is very personable and took the time to get to know me. He even walked me through my entire dental procedure so I knew what to expect. This was my first time visiting this office and it was very nice and comfortable. With coffee service, television and nice comfy chairs. Dr. Caruso is also tech savy with digital imaging for xrays and lights on his instruments as well. Once brought back to the exam room, each chair has an individual television with a large selection of dvd movies to choose from. Overall this was a great unexpected experience at the dentist! I would highly recommend this dentist.

I am in the middle of a number of procedures due to years of not getting to a dentist regularly. Dr. Caruso clearly cares deeply about his patient’s health and comfort. Twice now he has stayed late on a Friday night to work on my teeth. This time on Memorial Day weekend. This time I mentioned how much I enjoy learning new things so he gave me a slate to communicate and a mirror to watch. He explained every part of the procedures he did tonite. I’m finally not afraid of going to the dentist and feel more inspired to take care of my teeth than ever before.

From the moment I picked up my phone and spoke with his receptionist Marina, i fell in love. She wasn't pushy on the phone nor did she seem rushed as I have experienced in the past. She immediately accepted my emergency appointment for 2pm. Location was pretty easy to spot on 2275 Kennedy Blvd in Jersey City Dr. Caruso, truly is a great man. Reminds me of the good father from a 90's family sitcom. His office was comfortable but his knowledge was more comforting... thank you Doc. I'll be back with more friends for sure!

Dr Ed is a conscientious meticulous Dentist who has taken care of me for almost 20 years. I had a lot of problems when I first went to Dr Ed. He quickly resolved them with some root canal and a bridge my denture. He has been great and the bridge and all my other teeth are doing fine for the last 20 years all due to Ed and his no nonsense approach ( and his painless touch) thanks Dr Ed for being there for me!!! I just had an incredible dental experience with Dr. Ed Caruso. This was not a typical situation. In fact it was a dental emergency and I was from out of town to boot. I live in Tennessee and was headed to New Jersey for a big family event. The night before I flew in, I chipped my front tooth. It was not the most attractive looking site and you could imagine how upset I was. I mentioned it to my cousin in town and she suggested that as soon as I landed to call Dr. Caruso. I thought it would be an impossible feat to call a dentist on a Saturday and I wasn’t one of Dr. Caruso’s regular patients but I was in much need of assistance. I decided to text him as soon as I got off the plane and with in minutes he contacted me. He asked me to send him a picture of my chipped tooth. So I did! His response was, “that is pretty easy to fix, meet me in my office and I will repair it for you”. I was amazed! As soon as I got out of the airport I headed to his office. There he was ready to go and before I knew it my tooth was as good as new. As I sat in the dentist chair, I paid very close attention to what he was doing. I was truly impressed. He is clearly passionate about what he does and it shows in his work. Dr. Caruso is a true artist of dentistry. As he went through the process of repairing my tooth, he kept me abreast of the process and checked in with me when needed to make sure I was comfortable. He also cleaned my teeth that same day and I couldn’t believe the difference before and after (yes, he showed me before and after photos). This was a technique I had never seen before called an ultrasonic cleaning. Honestly, after I left his office, I wanted to figure out a way to make my bi yearly visits with him. Dentists are a very personal choice and he is clearly now my first choice. If you are looking for a dentist, Dr. Caruso is the person to see. No need to search for other dentists and read other reviews. Your search is over. Give him a call!

Personable and Accommodating: always have great conversations and they remember what I like to watch on the tele 3. Informative: The doctor always explains his procedures to you. 4. Technology Friendly: The doctor stays up to date with the latest techniques and machinery needed for top notch dentistry. 5. Experienced: The doctor has been doing this for 29 going on 30 years so you're dealing with a seasoned veteran. No rookie mistakes here. I'd recommend the president himself to be patient with Dr. Caruso. Please, if you're in the area, come try the doc out. You'll want him as your Dentist for years to come.

Unreliable & uncaring. Called for an emergency toothache appointment one day before and was able to get an 11:00 am. The receptionist later called to reschedule for 12. I was propmt and agreed to a new time. Showed up the next day at 12 and they said that the doctor wasn't in that day. I took an entire day off for this - none of the staff apologized. They didn't even call to let me know.

I would suggest to anyone considering going to this dentist to "google" Edmund Caruso and New Jersey Board of Dentistry 2016 and click on the links and read. The New Jersey Board of Dentistry is essentially a board of his peers and you might be interested in what they have to say. I was once a patient of Doctor Caruso and I can not speak highly of my experience at all. And my good doctor, anticipating your reply, here is my reply to your reply: some of the things addressed by the NJ Board of Dentistry did not happen over a decade ago(although quite a few things happened over a decade ago), they happened just a few years ago. And over thirty years in business is not necessarily an indication of a good business. North Korea has been up and running for way longer than that. Do you think longevity is a good reason to want to go and visit North Korea? The good doctor has been successful in removing my reviews from Yelp. Let's see if he has the same success in getting this review removed from Google.

Excellent care. Very nice Dr. I came right before closing as an emergency, and they actually stayed an extra 4 hours to do surgery on me. All the staff were extremely nice. And the Dr helped me to the car holding my hand crossing the street cuz I was still half numb from anesthesia. I really highly recommend him. Thanks Doc...

He does run late, so you do have to wait from time to time. This is because he spends time with his patients and takes the occasional emergency case.

Update 8/21/19: I had to come in today for an emergency visit after I fell and broke my tooth. I was fit in right away, and Dr Caruso and Terry took all my anxiety about what happened and how to repair it away immediately. It was a busy day in their office and they still managed to ensure that I received the care I needed and didn’t rush anything. Dr Caruso even made a handmade temporary crown for my front tooth that matches exactly! Highly recommend this office— they take the worry out of going to the dentist. Dr Caruso and his staff fit me in as a new patient for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction and not only was the experience painless and quick, it was a pleasure! (And I'm a person who is absolutely terrified of dental work-- so from me this is saying something!) Dr Caruso and his assistant Terry both made me so comfortable and provided a stress free experience. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist.

WARNING: DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. Terry, the receptionist is AMAZING, but Caruso is a fraud. (read more)... It should be known that I was personally asked to leave a 5-star review following my first visit and then Dr. Caruso checked to make sure I did it. My previous “happy review,” was the result of me being naive and never having visited a dentist on my own before (without my parents—I just graduated college). Caruso acts extremely nice and treats you very kindly, almost babying you so that you feel safe and comfortable. He’ll make you feel at home. You feel like you can trust that he knows what he’s doing if you’ve never received better care. But he is not trustworthy. In reality, I was completely taken advantage of. Here’s what really happened: I originally contacted Dr. Caruso via his text messaging platform for emergency treatment because my wisdom tooth was giving me terrible pain due to infection. When I learned they were out of network, I told them never mind and I would go elsewhere, and they said they would take care of me anyway. Dr. Caruso called me then, ignoring my rejection, and told me he would match my insurance even though they were out of network. I got in to the office, and after signing countless paperwork agreeing that I would not sue the dentist without discussing issues with them first, I waited hours to be seen. Once I was brought in, already in excruciating pain, Caruso numbed me up with medicine and then brought me several bills. Through maxing out the entirety of my CareCredit Card and paying nearly $300 more on my personal credit card, I was out nearly everything I had to pay for this visit, even though I was told that he would match my insurance—I should have only paid $400-$500. But of course, I was already in the chair and had been injected with the medicine, so what option did I have but to pay? When I came back for a follow-up, Caruso forgot I was in the examination room after I waited there for hours, and I left, still with stitches in my mouth and now with a swollen lymph node from the infection that spread due to extraction without treatment. I came back again, this being nearly 4 weeks later. After waiting hours to be seen, again, Caruso said my lymph node was “helping me heal” (whereas any other dentist would be concerned that pain has increased and a lymph node has formed post-operation), did not check the site of the extraction, and then told me I desperately needed a root canal (that day) on a completely different tooth that was x-rayed weeks ago and he paid no mind to. He tried to charge me $3000 and I rejected this, saying there was no way I had that much money. At this point he said he’d sign me up for a payment plan. Caruso asked for my social security number when signing me up for this “payment plan,” and I asked why several times before he insisted that the company needed it in order to process the payment plan. Upon returning home, still with stitches in my mouth and an infection, I got a notification that I had been declined for a Wells Fargo loan/credit account through Boulevard Dental. The “payment plan” that Caruso was allegedly signing me up for was actually a loan, even after he had already taken so much from me and knowingly put me in so much debt unreasonably on my initial visit. Caruso did not offer any reimbursement or even an apology for the obvious things he did wrong. Upon going to a different dentist, I was treated right away with much better care and advanced equipment, all within my insurance network (which, by the way, Caruso said was a “bad insurance” and that I would “never find quality care around here with HMO”). Right, because he wanted to swindle my money. And it seems he’s been doing this for 30 years.

its an honest to God nightmare coming here . It's been well over 7 months almost 8 months that I've been dealing with this sorry excuse for an office. I highly regret coming here and regret not getting educated with the board of dentistry ahead of time. Because now their will be attorneys involved insurance company. You are all in for a long and costly ride of your lives my friends. You've been warned. And since a review is the only thing that flags the dentist attention instead of returning any calls I have no choice But to leave another review if my opinion and honest experience.
