Cleaning and check-up went well and quickly. Teeth looked better after cleaning. Had to have a crown replaced. Novicane was not very strong. Two shots and I could still feel a little pain. Shots were becoming very painful so I stopped at two. Temporary crown fell out. When permanent crown was put in, no pain at all. It looks great! No issues. Update; May 2019; Smiles By The Sea are still my choice of dental care. They are upfront on upcoming costs of treatment and offered a payment plan. They seem to be able to navigate insurance and figure what your insurance will and will not pay for.

To the reader, it was the reviews that brought me Smiles by the Sea, also this is my first public review. I generally don't have anxiety problems however the dentist is a whole different story for me, so much so I haven't seen a dentist in roughly 20 years. I will now go to dentist twice a year as recommended. I had to be seen for to a filling falling out on Tuesday afternoon, I called this office. From the moment I started speaking with someone my experience was absolutely pleasant. I was scheduled for 8am next day, usually this is when I start experiencing the anxiety. Arriving promptly at 8 feeling apprehensive, I checked in with ladies at desk and took a seat. There was a friendly older gentleman who engaged me in thoughtful conversation and before I knew it Miss. Sue was calling my name. Sue was super friendly and understanding. I spent the next 45 minutes or so in her care, where step by step she worked her magic. She moved with a sense of urgency and was very efficient, I needed a whole work up, like I said it had been 20+ years. In fact it was my out processing dental appointment from when I separated from the military so there's no records to refer back to meaning all new images and full exam. All too often we are faced with folks that have been doing the job they're in for too long and they're burnt out or complacent or both. I'm certain that Sue said 39 years she's been doing this work, but yet she's still passionate. I'm a 40+ year old man, that seems to turn into a blubbering child at the dentist. The Dr came in while Sue was finishing up and wow she was also fantastic, down to earth, friendly and also understanding to my "issue" with dentist. Dr had me come back at 1 to fix temporarily seal my tooth until I can crown it. Sorry for super long review but all in all I can't say enough good about all the folks I encountered here at Smiles by the Sea and I'm terrible with names but all the ladies I delt with from the two young ladies at front desk, two ladies that worked on me and the Dr were all fantastic and I will be using this office for future visits....

This dentistry, Smiles by the Sea has all the latest technology to not only give you the best clean, yet with that technology can make it relatively painless when it comes to cleaning AND filling cavities. I've only had Nancy as my dental hygienist, yet she has to be one of the nicest, most thorough hygienist on the planet. My teeth and most importantly my gums are fresh, clean, pink and healthy. She never cuts corners and she will always tell it like it is, yet in the end you realize you got what you paid for and it's all done with a smile and the utmost professionalism. Now, I just sent this all about my dentist! Get to know these people... it's worth it.

Our family is so happy we found "Smiles by the Sea Family Dentistry" in Hampton NH. We had a wonderful dentist for years who was excellent but retired. We tried those so called "family dental practices" that have popped up through out the seacoast in the past several years only to be disappointed. They didn't care about us or our teeth. They wanted money up front and always found cavities my children never have and still don't. Thankfully we found Dr. Shevchencko and her awesome staff from the receptionist to the hygienists. All very kind, caring and professional. We are partial to Sue RDH because she has been our hygienist and is very thorough and pleasant. She was super thorough and it was nice to be in the chair and know that Sue didn't have to rush so I could get back to work. She is so gentle and kind! My teeth look fantastic, my whole mouth feels awesome, and I plan to continue getting cleanings every six months, even if I don't have insurance! Our family is so happy we found "Smiles by the Sea Family Dentistry" in Hampton NH. We had a wonderful dentist for years who was excellent but retired. We tried those so called "family dental practices" that have popped up through out the seacoast in the past several years only to be disappointed. They didn't care about us or our teeth. They wanted money up front and always found cavities my children never have and still don't. Thankfully we found Dr. Shevchencko and her awesome staff from the receptionist to the hygienists. All very kind, caring and professional. We are partial to Sue RDH because she has been our hygienist and is very thorough and pleasant. Both she and Dr. Shevchencko make going to the dentist a pleasure! Never thought I would say that, but it always is. Please give them a try. You wont be disappointed! I will continue going to Sue for as long as I possibly can! When Sue moved over to work with Dr Shevchenko, I came along. I first met Dr. Shevchenko about 8 months ago. For a long time, I had needed work on my two front teeth (they needed crowned as they were cut in half years ago when I was a kid). We decided that it was definitely time as there was a bit of decay in one of them that had developed between cleaning visits. Dr. Shevchenko did an AMAZING job with them! It was done in two sessions; the first was the prep work and the second was putting in the two permanent crowns. I am super pleased with them! Dr. Shevchenko's assistant Ashely is also excellent and very highly skilled!!! They are a great team and together made the entire process much easier. Smiles by the Sea Dentistry is excellent! I travel 40 minutes from Southern Maine to go there.

The dentist told me I had around $3000 worth of work that needed to be done. I've had 3 clean check ups previously, and the hygienist at Smiles by the sea told me my teeth looked great. I was suspicious that maybe I didn't need that much work done. What sealed it for me was when I tried to get my xrays, the receptionist wouldn't send them. At this point I just wanted my xrays.
