I had an awesome experience as well and chose Big Sky Dental for my primary dental care. They offer financial help and are a super knowledgeable and caring crew.

I am very disappointed to have to write a negative review. I had a wonderful experience in-office at Big Sky Dental, and everyone has been courteous, professional, and kind. However, after two months and multiple messages/phone conversations, my insurance still has not received a claim from Big Sky Dental, despite all reassurances from the office. I have contacted my insurance multiple times, and they reaffirmed that they have not received ANY communication from Big Sky Dental, despite Big Sky Dental saying that they "can work with any insurance." I really wish I had a better experience, but as a college student, being out nearly $800 for two months and having what feels like absolutely no help from Big Sky Dental leaves me very angry and disappointed. I have spoken on the phone with the office 5 or 6 times now, and have been told they've submitted my claim via mail and fax. However, my insurance has still received nothing and it's been two months. I am so incredibly displeased with my experience.

I have extremely high anxiety when it comes to the dentist. The loud machines that go whhhrrrrr in your ear, the dreaded needles, overall discomfort. I ended up with two appointments on the same day, first to check a problem tooth, the second to remove said tooth. The entire time I felt so relaxed and comfortable, Dr. Mcclung talked me through everything, when the needles came out he told me which one was gonna be the worst and counted down the 3 seconds, they gave me nitrous oxide to help further calm my nerves, and noise cancelling headphones! When the whhrrr machine came out, he told me to crank up the volume to negate some of the noise, and it worked. I just focused on my music rather than the crazy things happening in my mouth, and I was done. Normally I have been super sore and swollen after an appointment too, and so far two days later I feel more like myself than I have since this problem began. They are 100% focused on individual patient comfort and LISTEN to the needs and issues of each person and work with them.for customized care! I am blessed and happy to have found a new, and hopefully long term dental team!

I scheduled my appointment with Sheila. She was outgoing, professional, and excited to bring me on as a new patient. I arrived to my appointment and Julie greeted me at the reception / waiting room. I unfortunately did not have my "dental insurance card" but did have my "medical insurance card". She spent some time digging into it while Lee began my exam and Julie found my information (Thank you!). To be clear, I hadn't been to the dentist in 12 years. What I recall was old technology and equipment. I wouldn't say that I have ever had a bad dental experience in my past. I will say, this was a spa day for my teeth. Lee was my dental hygienist and she was fast, efficient, and thorough. She took the time to explain any concerns as well as consider my concerns. For it being 12 years, I had some serious cleaning/stain removal. Lee did an absolutely amazing job. Dr. McClung reviewed my xrays, inspected my teeth and gums, and went over his concerns on what I should keep an eye on. He was friendly, professional, and great with dental chair-side manner. Overall, great 1st visit. I look forward to my next appointment! Oh, and I am sending my wife there!

I do not trust the staff at Big Sky Dental to provide sound, honest dental advice and it is very unlikely that I will return. During my first appointment, it became apparent that their seemingly desperate attempts to make their patients comfortable and understand their patients’ needs were superficial, forced, and intended only to recruit or “court” patients. After being pressured into getting a full set of unnecessary X-rays, the dentist came in and- after probably 30 seconds looking in my mouth- determined that I “needed” four fillings, for the cost of $800 no less. In the past 3 years I have regularly been to two dentists I trust; Neither of those dentists even hinted that I might need a filling in the near future. And now all of sudden - according to Big Sky Dental - I need 4. Combined with their elaborate patient recruitment scheme, this was enough to convince me that Big Sky Dental is more interested in profits than patient health. In case you were wondering why Big Sky Dental has so many positive reviews, this is just another facet of their marketing; patients can be entered to win iPhones, etc. for leaving reviews.

So let me start off by saying, I'm that adult that is absolutely terrified of the dentist. In the past I've only ever dealt with rude upfront staff, and a back room staff that only want you in for the money. But here, I've never felt so welcomed and comfortable. At my first visit last week, I ended up needing 4 filings (a complete surprise) and they were able to fit me in that day, now remember, the dentist is petrifying to me, so as I sat there literally shaking in fear, the dentist (I apologize for not knowing his name) talked me through the entire process, let me get up and walk around, and simply sat with me until I was ready enough for the procedure. During, he made sure to ask how I was doing and let me take little breaks when I felt overwhelmed. Truly and honestly my BEST dental experience ever. Today I went in for a wisdom tooth removal, this time I was with the lady dentist they have (again, not sure on the name). Same experience, I was very shaky and scared, she talked me through it, checked on me the entire time, and it was a very quick/easy. The hygienist are so sweet and very well educated. They make sure you understand why you need this or that before just doing anything. The front desk staff is so friendly! They are very willing to work with you on payment plans and don't ever pressure you or make you feel bad for not having the money right that second. Seriously, don't waste your time going anywhere else. They even play good music!

The staff at the office are all incredibly nice and contribute to a positive environment; however, I felt that I was constantly being sold services I did not need. After two years of being told I needed a filling, I finally had the funds to pay for it. Before the service, I had absolutely zero pain and was told the filling was not deep and that this was an easy/routine process. After getting the filling, that area in my mouth has been in pain ever since. I went back and was told it was "fixed," and that the dentist had even contacted his professor and that there was nothing wrong. It has been six months and to this day, I have sensitivity and bleeding where they did the filling, where before, I was completely fine!

The hygienists are wonderful, the dentists are absolute class acts and their front office staff are the nicest, and I mean the nicest, people you could ever imagine. They make you feel very warm and welcome right when you walk through the front door. However, be warned that this business charges SIGNIFICANTLY more than most places in the area, and charges you up front before submitting claims to insurance. It also took almost 2 months for them to submit my claims. After insurance, I ended up paying over $400 out-of-pocket for two visits that would have been free if I had gone down the street. Hindsight is always 20/20, but $400 for an unexpected warm face towel and chocolate at the end of a visit seems a little steep.

They give you a chocolate and a hot cloth at the end of your visit. I gave a 5 star to start when we first decided to go there. When I had to have a crown there was a problem with it leaking due to it wasnt seated correctly all the way down. If it hadn't been for me previously being in the dental assistant, I would have believed what he was saying to me. He expressed that the back of the crown below the gum line must have a little chip and the smell and taste was that of trapped food. I knew it was leaking and i could taste the awful taste. He then let me know the crown is under warranty under this ridiculous plan. If it's over a year you only pay a certain percentage, if it's over 2 you pay more and so on. Let me tell you guys if your dentist puts a crown on you and there is an issue, he should do the right thing and fix it. The dentist that I worked for all have been amazing and put their patients first . After going back in and having the most awkward conversation with him telling that he shouldn't be charging me, he finally and reluctantly did not charge me to replace it. When he took off the crown that odor I kept getting came rushing out 1000 fold. It was so bad. I knew if was leaking. He had adjusted it so much because it was seated high. When the crown was off I looked at it and there were no chips just as I had suspected. It was at that time I was so uncomfortable with remaining his patient. I need to not worry if he will stand behind his work. I think we as a patient need to know this warranty plan prior to choosing to have the crown done or what he would do if an issue should occur.

The staff is remarkable. Very kind and my hygienists was wonderful, thank you Lee for being amazing. I wish I could have stayed with you. Never had to wait long to be seen. They give you a chocolate and a hot cloth at the end of your visit. I gave a 5 star to start when we first decided to go there. When I had to have a crown there was a problem with it leaking due to it wasnt seated correctly all the way down. If it hadn't been for me previously being in the dental assistant, I would have believed what he was saying to me. He expressed that the back of the crown below the gum line must have a little chip and the smell and taste was that of trapped food. I knew it was leaking and i could taste the awful taste. He then let me know the crown is under warranty under this ridiculous plan. If it's over a year you only pay a certain percentage, if it's over 2 you pay more and so on. Let me tell you guys if your dentist puts a crown on you and there is an issue, he should do the right thing and fix it. The dentist that I worked for all have been amazing and put their patients first . After going back in and having the most awkward conversation with him telling that he shouldn't be charging me, he finally and reluctantly did not charge me to replace it. When he took off the crown that odor I kept getting came rushing out 1000 fold. It was so bad. I knew if was leaking. He had adjusted it so much because it was seated high. When the crown was off I looked at it and there were no chips just as I had suspected. It was at that time I was so uncomfortable with remaining his patient. I need to not worry if he will stand behind his work. I think we as a patient need to know this warranty plan prior to choosing to have the crown done or what he would do if an issue should occur.

I went to Big Sky Dental after a bad experience with another dentist and wanted to find another one in town. I was very happy with the care I received. First, the dentist was incredibly straightforward and kind, taking time to explain my options and let me decide. Also, his staff is incredible. I have worked in healthcare for 15 years and I have rarely come across an office so well run and friendly. From front office staff, to dental hygienists, they were all excellent (and seriously, so friendly). Would highly recommend them.

He clearly explained what was found during the exam and gave a spectrum of options and recommendations without any pushing or rushing. Their staff is very efficient, supportive, and friendly, and, Dr. McClung is the best dentist that I’ve ever had...and (unfortunately), I’ve been to many! They are all about the patient, from the moment that you come in, to the the time that you leave. They are well worth driving the distance for us. My husband who had to have a root canal, feels the same.

I have been to a few dentists in town for my teeth needs. I have to honestly say that the service and friendliness of the staff and tooth doctor and nurses were the best I have experienced. Dentists can be a stressful place to go for some people. These guys are extremely gentle, listen you you and are so considerate of your needs and sensitivity. I finally found a place where I can go and feel safe, at ease and get some of the best dentistry in town.

This clinic goes out of their way to make you feel welcome with warm smiles, scented hot face towels to refresh yourself after having your teeth cleaned, a warm neck support, chocolate .... anything they can do to help you feel more comfortable. Going to the dentist has not always been a pleasant experience for me, but Big Sky Dental really goes out of their way to make it one. They are very caring, professional, and generous. Even gave me a free $100 sonic care toothbrush after having deep cleaning. I was really impressed actually with the service here

Took me in the same day and repaired my tooth making recomendations for future work that should be done when I get back to my home area. Charge was very reasonable.

Went in for the initial appointment for $67 from their flyer. I could go on for a while, if I had paid $199 for that appointment I would have thought what a bargain. Lee was my dental tech, best one ever. No rush, good explanations, got me in on time. My first experience though obviously I found my new dentist.

I fee l like it's hard to find a dentist that's, " my dentist." A place you feel confident and excited to recommend to friends, or whoever. I've been through a number of dental offices in Bozeman and they were all fine and did a nice job, but I will not forget Big Sky Dental and I will be a customer there as long as I live here. The people there are so excited about their practice, their office, and their clients, it's infectious. I have no idea whether they have an assload of clients or are trying to grow, but the feel in that place is unbelievably friendly and personal. Customer service is obviously important to them but they also do their jobs incredibly well. I walked out of there realizing that my teeth had never been looked after properly until that visit. Thanks so much to Abigail, Jennifer, Dr. Fisher and Tracie for taking care of me, and I'll see you guys in 6 months!

Big Sky Dental Center has been a wonderful relief for our family. I have not had pleasant experiences with dental appointments in the past. We have had nothing but great experiences with Dr McClung. The staff there are always friendly and helpful and the dental hygienists are great! Dr. McClung is so easy to work with and I really appreciate his honesty and flexibility. Sheila even entertained our 1 year old during my last cleaning and gave her a toothbrush that kept her occupied all the way home! Unfortunately after this last cleaning I needed a filling replaced. I was able to get in very promptly, the procedure went very smoothly and was painless. Which I very much appreciated! So grateful for this wonderful practice!
