After researching dentists in the Twin Cities looking for a highly recommended & qualified one to educate and guide me through my options for improving my smile and overall oral health, I found Serene Oaks Dental in the North Oaks area. They did not disappoint and proved to satisfy above & beyond my expectations!! People constantly compliment me on my smile & teeth. I proudly smile showing off Dr. Gesica Horn & teams fabulous work! She & her team walked me through all options & steps involved. Then she skillfully did the ceramic work - I came in in the morning and left after a couple hours with the gorgeous teeth I had been desiring! That was 3 yrs ago & I still get compliments all the time. The warm & friendly atmosphere of the office & entire staff at Serene Oaks Dental are by far the best I've ever experienced in a dental practice. They care about my oral hygiene, as well as my overall health & wellbeing. I continue trusting them with my regular dental care. I love Serene Oaks Dental for numerous reasons, but the two most important reasons are: 1. They are knowledgeable. 2. They are personable and friendly. I often joke that I’m just going to show up one day just to say “Hi.” Strange thing to say at a dentist’s office, right? That’s my point. They make going to the dentist a positive experience. Dr. Loween has treated my crazy teeth for years, since they opened their doors. He’s diligent at tracking the changes in my teeth, giving me plenty of warning when I would probably need major work, like a crown, which has helped me financially plan ahead. I’ve truly appreciated that. He’s been my entire family’s dentist for years. All three of my children have had great experiences with him. He’s recommended the best care for them including wisdom teeth removal for all three kids. He’d called to check on them the evening of even when he wasn’t the one who removed their wisdom teeth. He’s also called me when I’ve had major work done, just to see how I was doing. This is a rare experience these days from medical professionals. I appreciate the excellent care my family has received. I don’t plan to go to a different dentist. While the care is most important, I just need to add that the spa-like atmosphere is such an added treat. I’m not kidding when I say, you will get warm neck pillows, warm blankets, and warm spa massage hot stones to hold all while getting your teeth fixed. I’d say that’s something to smile about.

I am writing to express high praise for Dr. Gesica Horn and her entire staff at Serene Oaks Dental. Dr. Horn is a superb dentist in every way. She is highly skilled, exceptionally sensitive to her patients' needs, availed of top-notch equipment, and dedicated in just the right way to the most thorough, pain-free and pleasant dental experience possible - right down to the serenely decorated office complete with beautiful pictures and a bubbling fountain. During a recent visit for drilling and filling a cavity, Dr. Horn and her Assistant and I shared interesting stories and humorous observations; and I actually found myself laughing during pauses in the procedure! Now how unusually delightful is that?!? I also want to mention that one day some time ago when I arrived quite early for an appointment, I witnessed Dr. Horn come out to the lobby to talk to a couple of children about to go in for their family appointment. She knelt down with them to get acquainted and even helped them pack up some toys before she left to get ready to receive them for their appointment.. That impressed me. She is a fine person.

Walking in to Serene Oaks Dental is like reaching the Promised Land. The immediate sound of a waterfall and compassion of the receptionists meet you as soon as you walk in the door, and you are swept away into a world of enchantment that Disney would approve of. I'm not sure what is the best definition of "care": the fact that the receptionists get you water even though it's within your own reach, or that the technicians take the tools out of your mouth after asking you a question so that you can actually respond in English. I have only been to Serene Oaks a few times, yet the second I walked in they simply told me to take a seat and that they would tell my technician I was there, rather than asking for a reminder of my name. Maybe it was because I was the only one there. Maybe it's because they're magical. I will never know. After your short - but sweet - time in the lobby, you are walked through hallways of family photos that the Kennedy's and Crest whitening strips would be proud of. The rooms feel more like a Westin hotel than an office - whether it's the TVs, blankets, or having X-rays in the comfort of your XL chair, every detail was meticulously designed with the client in mind. I have never had a bad dental experience, and I know that I won't if I keep returning to Serene Oaks. I know my next appointment isn't until January, but I may just go to hang out with all of them again. It really helps you find your Zen.

Probably not...except that I never in a million years would have described an experience at the dentist as a "loved it"! Because of past orthodontic encounters and the subsequent anxiety re: teeth, dentists, x-rays, braces- (you name it, if it had to do with entering the dentist's office), I was a wreck every time I had to make a dental appointment. I'm sure my chart was "red flagged" within 1 minute after entering Serene Oaks. The good news is that at Serene Oaks, that doesn't mean, "look out,problem patient ahead!" Rather, for Dr.Horn and her team, it means, "extra special care and attention needed- pull out ALL the stops to reassure this one". I'm especially grateful to Melissa for accepting me and my ensuing challenges, from x-rays, to impressions, to procedures; her explanations helped me understand things about my mouth & bite, her tricks of the trade got me through my overactive gag response, her presence alone is a comfort & reassurance that no matter what lies ahead, we'll make it through it together. I can't imagine another dentist with the patience of Job (yes,it has taken me years!) to stick out this process with me. Thanks Dr. Horn, for your continual professionalism and persistence. I didn't truly understand the dysfunction of my bite (I thought it was working for me) until I finally completed the work to be where I am now. I am thrilled to chew bilaterally, to be pain free, to have my teeth and jaw in the correct position, to take a bite out of a sandwich (no more cutting it into small pieces)- everything fits! I thought it was all about a beautiful cosmetic smile, but it's not. It is about the health and well being that comes with a corrected bite. But don't worry, Dr. Horn will make sure you have a beautiful smile to reflect that as well.

I spent a lot of time researching dentists, trying to figure out who would be able to provide the best quality care and a great customer experience. I can, without a doubt, say that Serene Oaks offers both great quality dental care and customer experience. After filling out all the paperwork necessary to proceed with my visit, which they will mail to your address prior to your visit so you do not have to arrive 30 minutes before your initial visit, I was brought back to speak with a dental consultant who was very easy to talk to, took x-rays, and answered any questions I had. From there I met with Dr. Horn who is phenomenal. Very professional, and explained what she was seeing in my X-rays; she moved around her schedule to give me a filling that day knowing that I was flying to New York the next day. Before getting the filling, I met with my hygienist, Gracia, for a cleaning - great person, easy to talk to, and was extremely thorough - highly recommend her if you're looking for a cleaning. After my cleaning, Dr. Horn and Melissa spent hours making sure my fillings were well done and formed to not cause future discomfort. Overall 5 star experience. Serene Oaks Dentistry sets the bar high, and is a place that embodies the term customer care and professionalism. Other dental offices should consult with them on how to make patients feel like people. I am definitely coming back.

Dr Loween provides perspective and clarity when discussing dental care. Dr Loween and his staff are incredibly personable, yet extremely professional. They're very organized and appear to know all patients by first name. Very impressive! Adult cleanings are typically an hour; children are half hour appointments. They take their time and you always feel at ease when that seat reclines and the light is shining:) Would highly recommend.

The name definitely fits the atmosphere! When I walked in I was greeted with a warm genuine smile. I’ve never been seen at Serene so I had to fill out paperwork. While I was doing so the dentist offered me a fresh thyme water (herbs picked from their personal garden). I then was seen by my dentist Natalie, she was AMAZING!! When I sat in the chair she covered me with a thick purple blanket, asked me about my personal life not just my health concerns. After going over a few X-rays she walked me over to a wax machine (forgot the name) where I dipped my hands in then wrapped in a plastic bags, I felt like I was in a spa! Nathalie was so catering and informative. I felt comfortable talking to her about all my concerns and she made sure all my questions were answered throughly. I would recommend this place to anyone! I haven't been to the dentist in 4 years because I was attached to my dentist and was nervous to try someone new after I moved to MN. I could not have chosen a better office to try! I've never had an experience like this. Natalie did an AWESOME job getting my information and made me feel very comfortable. She took very thorough pictures and X-rays so I could clearly see what was going on. It was a lot. I had old fillings that were broken and two chipped teeth plus a loose orthodontic bar. They were able to take care of all if it, and even made me a smoothie because I was there for a while and had not had breakfast. I highly recommend this office. Dr. Horn and EVERYONE in the office was awesome. You will not regret making an appointment here!

I had worn my teeth down to a point that most of my mouth hurt, was unable to chew properly and had lost several teeth to root canals from the pressure. Dr. Horn truly worked a transformation.
