I do not like the new dentist and some of the new staff. I went in for some fillings and told them right away that a molar broke in 2 places. They took exrays, and started to explain what they would need to do. I had to tell him again that the back of the tooth was also broken. Oh, then his plans changed. He would have to Do an emergancy bridge. With my insurance closed they gave me an estimated that I said ok to, and paid them half. He did the work and put on the temporary crowns. They set me up with an appointment for 2 weeks to put on the crown. I showed up, on time, and they said my appointment its until September. No, that's my next cleaning. And I had just taken the reminder card out of my purse. I called home to check, and yes this was my appointment.. They asked me to come back another day. No, I took off work today and can't make it. They took me in. The hygienist worked on me. She had trouble getting the crowns off. She tried the new bridge and said the dentist would be in to put it on, they are still checking with insurance. When he finally came in with a paper about insurance, He said thay wouldn't cover it. I would have to pay this amount today(3 times more the the estimate). I told him I did not have that much today, and asked what happened to my estimate. I told him to put the temps back on and wait for an appeal from the insurance. He had the hygienist put them back on. Or should I say try. She never cleaned them out the old cement,or dryed off my teeth. She must have dropped them in my mouth 5 times. Had to take them back out and try again. Still not right, the dentist finally asked if she needed help, and finally got them back in. I told him it would have been much easyer if they just put them in and took my other half of the payment in till they figured it out. Well the reason I was denied 3 times from insurance is because they aren't doing the paper work right. I call insurance and got that info. When this is all done and over with I will miss Kim.

This is the only dentist I’ve taken my daughter (6.5 years old) and son (3.5 years old to, because they’re great!! From the office staff to the dentists, everyone is beyond friendly, helpful, and kind. My kids always enjoy going, and I love knowing they’ll be so well cared for. I recommend Round Lake Dental to everyone!!

The staff is always so upbeat, the assistants do a great job small talking with the patients so you are not sitting in silence the entire time which helps if you are nervous to be at the dentist like myself. Do you know how hard it is to find "the right dentist?! I actually look forward to coming in for check ups and cleanings because I know I will be greeted happily by real people that I adore (shout out to you Kim, Brandy and Cassie) and my son has never been nervous because he knows he will be taken care of. You can tell that the staff is more like family than co-workers and they are treated well. I will miss Dr. Swenson (or Doc Thomas as I called him :) but I have been seeing Dr. Zhan and he is full of personality and does great work. My family and neighbors have been coming here for years and will for years to come.

my husband, my 3 year old daughter and my self went here for 6 months. They were SO respectful. It had been 13+ years since we had been to a dentist. (My self? I get MAJOR anxiety when it comes to the dentist!) and they made me feel very comfortable! Unfortunatly, they decided not to deal with Delta Dental anymore. They still accept delta but they ask that you pay for everything UP FRONT, and then you wait for delta to send you a reimbursement check. No thanks. I can't afford that. If they didn't do that? I would have stayed!

Poor experience here, wasn't given a choice in my care even when insurance denied coverage because of lack of evidence I needed the procedure. Wanted me to pay for a $2000 procedure and wasn't given alternatives. Won't go back.

From front desk to the Doctors to the assistants and the hygienists, they all explains everything thoroughly, always have what I am going to owe before treatment is started so I am not surprised later on, very welcoming. In 2018 my husband and I were very saddened to hear that Dr. Swenson was leaving his practice to retire. He'd been our dentist for many years and helped us through some trying times with his compassion and sense of humor. We were apprehensive about seeing a new dentist, as I'm sure that all his old patients were. In December of '18 I had an appointment to have my teeth cleaned and examined. I was thrilled to see all of the old staff there. They are all friendly and when you walk in the door you are always greeted with a warm hello, and called by your first name. That's so nice. I met the new Dr. working that day, Dr. Zhan. He welcomed me back, and assured me that he would take good care of me, no matter how anxious I was about the "visit to the dentist". In January I had an appointment with Dr. Zhan to have some repair work done, and it was a comfortable visit. He was very kind and patient. I was apprehensive, but my fears subsided after that visit, and will continue to go to Round Lake Dental, as always. In the meantime, I discussed my husband's dental issues with Kim and the girl's at the front desk. He currently had no dental insurance at the time, and they were helpful with options that he might pursue. The following week a note arrived at the house from Round Lake informing us of an in-house dental plan they thought my husband might consider. They were very helpful in answering questions regarding financial options and different treatments. I can't say enough good things about Round Lake Dental and all the staff there. In April I will go again and meet Dr. Proeschel for the first time. I'm sure the visit will be a good one. Thank you to all who take such good care of us when it comes to our Dental Health. My family (2 adults, 4 children) has been receiving dental services from Round Lake Dental for nearly 12 years. We have had EXCELLENT service from both Dr. Swenson and all of the hygienists we have seen there. Very professional yet friendly, great at dealing with kids, very comforting and reassuring when needing major work. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist. The only reason we are changing dentists now is because Delta dropped Round Lake Dental from their list of in-network providers (not by Round Lake's choice). Our family of six can't afford to pay up front for services, so we are very sadly looking for a new dentist. If Delta picks Round Lake up again, we will be back in a heartbeat! Thank you for all you have done for our family, Dr. Swenson and staff!

I have seen Dr Swenson for 20+ years. My son who is now 28 has seen him since he was 8 yrs old and still sees him on a regular basis. My husband who hadn’t seen a dentist when we first got married has been seeing him now for 19 yrs. He has always hated dentists and says that Dr Swenson is the only dentist he will ever see and has been seeing every 6 months. Dr Swenson has also been very kind and generous with my elderly mother (now passed) who had no insurance and helped her with some emergency needs- God Bless him! We are not sure what we will do should Dr Swenson ever retire. He has always been very kind and straight to the point about our dental care. He has never recommended any treatment that was not necessary and if he was not able to do a procedure he has referred us to other first class professionals. He and his staff run a very clean, professional, and welcoming clinic. I would recommend them to anyone, even little children. Fast forward to May 2019 I was very reluctant to see a new dentist after Dr Swenson retired. I was just in today and had seen Dr Proeschel. He was very kind and compassionate. He was very patient with me and explained very well as to why I was having issues. Thank you Dr Proeschel for reassuring me I didn’t need a root canal which is what I feared. The front desk staff as usual are very kind as well. I will continue going to Round Lake Dental.

i just started at this location and cant be happier for the referral to round lake dental the staff are very nice the dentist is fabulous just a great experience they have gone above and beyond my expectations with great service i dont know how they do it but it is the most pain free dentist i have ever been to !!!! the staff really care and it shows i never thought i would leave this kind of review ever for a dentist but i feel they deserve the recognition :)

UPDATE: The team at Round Lake Dental reached out and offered to make it right. I meet with the other dentist at the office and he gave me several options. He made me feel very comfortable. He let me choose which option for the repair that I thought would work for me the best. The new dentist, Dr. Zhan is terrible. I have been coming here for over 20 years and loved Dr. Swenson and his staff. The first time Dr. Zhan worked on me he shortened one of my side front teeth for no reason and would not take care of it. As a matter of fact he had every excuse in the book about how he didn't touch my tooth. Like I didn't know what it looked like before he worked on my teeth. I even showed him pictures of before he worked on it and after and he still had excuses. Asking me questions like how old the picture was and telling me my mouth was numb so how could I even know what he was doing. Telling me it looked like that before. Dr. Zhan has damaged my tooth for life and he really didn't seem to care. He also bills for extra charges that Dr. Swenson never did. If your looking for a replacement for Dr. Swenson keep looking it is definitely not Dr. Zhan.

Most amazing staff who will go above and beyond to take care of you! I Can hands down say that I have never felt this comfortable at any other dental office. My hygienist Kim is awesome and always does awesome job at my cleaning appointments. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I don't typically leave reviews, but I know how helpful they can be so here goes. I love, love, love Round Lake Dental. I've been going to Round Lake Dental for over 15 years and I've never had a bad experience. I used to dread/despise/loathe going to the dentist because of bad experiences; however, I actually look forward to it now. The office staff and dentists are very thorough whether it's cleaning your teeth, explaining possible treatment (in terms you can understand) or billing. The dentists are personable and remember you at each visit. I bring my children here as well and they enjoy going, too. They explain each instrument to the kids, what each one is for and let them touch the tools so they know it won't hurt. My kids ask often when they get to go again and are bummed when I say not for another 6 months. You couldn't ask for a better place to go so stop your search, you've found the BEST place. I highly recommend Round Lake Dental you won't regret your decision to go here.
