For quite some time I have had problems with my teeth becoming infected (Years) and I was losing my teeth (one at a time) I was very afraid to go to the Dentist because of bad experiences I've had with other Dentist's in the past. My infection was becoming so bad and I was in so much pain from it, I couldn't eat or sleep, So one day I thought enough was enough, I said ...hmmm..I'm going to look up some Dentist's online that can help me and maybe some that will do implants. I called this 1-800 number...it was Mini Implants and I left my phone number. They called me back and gave me Dr. Malterud's number and the guy told me he was one of the top Dentist's. So I called and was very nervous about the whole thing of seeing him, as a matter of fact I almost cancelled. The receptionist Colleen was very good at reassuring me that I would be okay and that he specialized in helping people who were afraid of going to the Dentist. So I made my appt. OMG...I was so scared. When I met him, we had a consultation before any work was done. They took a scan around my head and the next time I went in they knew exactly what to do. I NEVER felt any pain and they were so very GOOD to me and I'll never forget it. Kathy, Marks technician always kept me reassured and calm. My pain was so gone after the removal of the bad teeth with the very very bad infection. Since then, Liz the cleaning technician, VERY Profesionnal, made sure all my plaque was gone of years from not seeing the Dentist. Dr. Malterud has gone over the scan on the computer with me so he can plan for the implants. It took a while for my teeth to heal. To me its worth everything...it's an investment to me and thank GOD I won't be wearing false teeth. I'm on a payment plan that I can afford and we take it step by step. The whole office there is awesome and you feel like your part of the family. I HIGHLY recommend this Dentist. You will NEVER regret it! Thank you again Dr. Malterud you are the BEST! Wow! Quite amazing to say the least! I am blessed to have been referred to Dr. Malterud. I was told by two other dentists that I needed root canals and crowns put on many teeth, or to get them extracted. Today was day one of getting my mouth fixed! We started with the worst tooth, and NO root canal or crown. He completely rebuilt my tooth. Incredible! Worth the money! Friendly staff all around. Can’t wait for my next appointment.

Today’s visit was with Liz, the dental hygienist. Having TMJ, makes it challenging to endure any dental work. But, Liz’s gentle touch does not trigger jaw pain or headaches. Her gentle touch, compassion and chair side conversation makes teeth cleaning a joy. I’m always excited when I have an appointment with her. The day she retires will certainly be a sad day.

Betty, the front office manager, was extremely helpful in running back and forth between the Dr and I to get my treatment plan drafted. I flew in from Asia (36 hr flight) to remove 9 silver amalgams and 2 teeth with root canals. Dr Malterud had a back injury that morning and could hardly stand up, but he proceeded with such professional determination it was beyond impressive. Both my teeth each took around 50 minutes to extract, and yet he persisted in good principle to not break them nor damage the tissues (if I understood it correctly). Our procedure lasted 5.5 hrs, and he never once complained despite his own pain. He was only concerned about my well-being. He even had his staff drive me back to Chaska! I know there are many devoted dentists around, but Dr Malterud is an exceptionally rare breed, I am truly grateful to receive his care. Minnesotians are very fortunate to have him

I am so wowed and impressed with Dr. Malterud and his staff. I was in crisis mode as I arrived to their office. I had broken veneer temporaries that had been done by another dentist. Dr. Malterud & his wife Colleen made it a point to get me in the office the same day and he and his team stayed late just to make sure I left with a perfect set of new temporaries on. He and his staff will have our business as long as they'll have us. I grew up with a mother who was a dental hygienist, spending time in a dental office is no new thing. My experience with Dr. Malterud has been the best dental experience I've had yet!!!

I am particularly impressed by Dr. Malterud's minimally invasive approach and I haven't once felt any pain during procedures once the numbing agent was applied, which in itself was the most mildly painful application I've ever had. My fillings have been rock solid, very smooth to the touch, and despite being out of network for my insurance, I am happy to pay the extra expense.

I took my 6 year old in to get three cavities dealt with. In about an hour all three cavities had been filled with no numbing needed. Dr. Malterud used a combination of ozone and laser to deal with the cavities, no drilling. He was very kind to my son and it was a great experience. The next day the office staff called to make sure my son was doing well after his fillings. I'm definitely switching to this dentist. I appreciate that he continues his education and therefore has experience in cutting edge technologies that are safer and more painless!

I was not gifted with good teeth and could share horror stories with anyone about ok, good, and bad dentists. I also have a unique and very sensitive nerve structure that has complicated dental procedures my entire life. I am of the opinion that had I found Dr Mark 10 years earlier he would have been able to save my teeth. I had gotten two other opinions prior to seeing Dr Mark so I knew I was looking at dentures but dreaded the idea of teeth flopping around or limiting foods I can eat. A treatment plan which included 8 implants was developed and we went forward with the procedures. It was not an easy journey in most part due to the issues I noted above so Dr Mark had more chair time with me then he ever would have thought. When I had a problem and needed to see him he figured out a way to see me. He even came in on a holiday weekend to take care of an issue I had. My point to this is he never tried to charge me more then we had agreed on at the start and he truely cared about my well being. Should you decide to see Dr Mark I beleive you will have finally found the excellent dentist you have been looking for. As a perk you will find this office to be a breath of fresh air with Colleen and Rachel up front (the coffee is great) the fashionable Liz, along with the knowledgeable and fun Kathy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark since my second paradontal surgery over 25 years ago. He and his staff have kept the condition in check and I've only lost one wisdom tooth because it fractured. Don't know of any concern that can't be handled in one visit if pre-identified. He's always on the "leading edge" of equipment and procedures and gives good firm friendly advice on the means of personal care that I had to adopt in my bathroom. He attends conferences world wide both as a student and an instructor. If you have concerns with your gums, I highly recommend that you see Mark. Not only has he prevented further loss of tissue but I believe that after my last two visits has essentially snuffed out the problem. Excited? You bet!!! 72 years old and don't have to be concerned with dental problems or care. We are now Florida residents but I still schedule all my "meaningful" dental care with Mark & Liz two or three times a year. I'll tell you about one of his latest pieces of equipment - 3 dimensional X-rays that he just used on me. As a result he said, "Look at that tooth and the adjoining sinus cavity. If you ever need to have that tooth pulled tell the dentist that it has to come out in pieces or you'll have a hole directly into the sinus cavity and that will be a serious problem!". Wow!!! Is that good to know? See you at Mark's office. Everyone that I have recommended to Mark over the years and that went therer are still his patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark since my second paradontal surgery over 25 years ago. He and his staff have kept the condition in check and I've only lost one wisdom tooth because it fractured. Don't know of any concern that can't be handled in one visit if pre-identified. He's always on the "leading edge" of equipment and procedures and gives good firm friendly advice on the means of personal care that I had to adopt in my bathroom. He attends conferences world wide both as a student and an instructor. If you have concerns with your gums, I highly recommend that you see Mark. Not only has he prevented further loss of tissue but I believe that after my last two visits has essentially snuffed out the problem. Excited? You bet!!! 72 years old and don't have to be concerned with dental problems or care. We are now Florida residents but I still schedule all my "meaningful" dental care with Mark & Liz two or three times a year. I'll tell you about one of his latest pieces of equipment - 3 dimensional X-rays that he just used on me. As a result he said, "Look at that tooth and the adjoining sinus cavity. If you ever need to have that tooth pulled tell the dentist that it has to come out in pieces or you'll have a hole directly into the sinus cavity and that will be a serious problem!". Wow!!! Is that good to know? See you at Mark's office. Everyone that I have recommended to Mark over the years and that went therer are still his patients.

Mark surpassed all of the dentists I have ever met. He is trully one that is in it for the love of making your smile FEEL and LOOK better. As he worked on me, he explained each step of the process and its purpose in creating a long-lasting filling. It was painless, fast, and I had no fear because I knew I could trust Dr Malterud.
