Do not come here if you are the least bit ethnic. I came here because I heard some good things while waiting in line for gas. I think that was my mistake. I was looking for a new dentist and thought I should try them out. The phone rang forever, but I kept trying. Finally, a lady answered and she said she doesn't normally answer the phones. Her name was Amy and I hope she isn't like this to everyone. I was asking questions about the office and the doctor and she kept interrupting me. She finally said that she will not schedule me because she could not understand my accent. She had the audacity to tell me to find "a black dentist". poor poor

It had been a few years since I had been to the dentist. I was new in town, and I had always went to the same dentist since I was about 8 years old to 22 years old. I was nervous about going to a new place. I had talked to Julie on the phone a few times about appointment times that worked for my schedule and getting my old records transferred. I was looking for a conveniently located dental practice and contacted Lifesmiles. My initial call was answered promptly and I was able to book an appointment that worked for my schedule. When I entered the office I was greeted immediately and the hygienist brought me back to the exam room within ONE minute (no wasting time reading magazines)! My cleaning was done gently and thoroughly. When the cleaning was complete Dr. Gawlik introduced himself then examined my mouth, gums and teeth. He asked questions, carefully listened to my answers then explained how he suggested addressing the dental work. I was provided with a printed description (including insurance codes) and fees for the proposed work. From start to finish my experience with Dr. Gawlik and Lifesmiles Family Dentisty exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend Dr. Gawlik and would rate him as a 10 star professional.

(IN RESPONSE BELOW - don't lie please, 1) high noble crown must contain at least 60% of noble metals, while yours had only 15% which is regular crown; 2) we went to another dentist before, they told the cavity was not big, but their office was too far so we went to you. You ONLY told us about 3 surface when we got the bill. ) MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: I don't know how to trust this clinic. I came there because of the number of good reviews. And from my whole family experience during a year , their goal is not to help you but to make as much money on you as possible by selling and charging you for what you need and what you don't need. 1st I wanted to replace my crown. They told me their crowns were high noble, but when I asked them for the list of ingredients, it appeared it was just regular metal-ceramic crown while they wanted to charge me for high noble! Then, I got a filling for a tiny beginning of cavity after which I was charged for 3 surface filling!! Then, my husband went there, he brought x-rays from different dental office, and later, they tried to bill him for those x-rays!! Finally, recently, I went there with my daughter for the exam and replacing the mercury filling which was not more than 1,5 surface.. and they sent us bill for 3 surface filling! They see clients not more than business. It is scary when you trust the doctor and they take advantage of it by selling you things you don't need and charging you for more than what they do.

I went to Lifesmiles with a broken tooth that I knew needed fixing, but it wasn't an emergency yet. I hadn't been to a dentist for a couple years because my old dentist didn't seem very trustworthy. So I searched for a dentist with the best reviews, and ended up at Lifesmiles. Dr. Gawlik and his amazing assistant Jamie did not disappoint! I ended up needing a root canal and crown on my broken tooth. Dr. Gawlik offered to do the work right then and there, they just had to bounce in and out along the way in order to care for their regularly scheduled patients. It wasn't my first root canal, but it was definitely my most pain free one! The entire staff here is so friendly and caring. The day after my procedure, Dr Gawlik called me personally to see how I was doing. Amazing! People usually only leave reviews for a terrible service encounter, or if they were blown away by great service. Lifesmiles Family Dentistry is well worth all of the 5 star ratings that they've earned!!

I chose this dentist based on positive reviews, yet my experience was not positive. I was charged for X-rays in which I was told would be part of my service. When I called I was told that Xrays are usually covered yearly and that I would have to call my insurance to see why I was charged. I called insurance and was told that they are only covered every 24 months. I asked if this is known by the dental offices and was told that the offices typically call to get coverage details. She checked and showed no record of lifesmiles calling to get my coverage. Unfortunately I have to now pay for something that I may have chosen not to do. Edit: Upon calling to make the payment I was told that the cost had been adjusted. The woman I spoke with apologized and discussed how we can avoid this type of miscommunication in the future. I am very impressed with how this was handled and am changing from one to four stars based on follow up experience.

I was told that it would take 40 minutes and I walked in at 7:00am on the dot and back in my car at 7:41am, great space and the staff is always amazing. I found Dr. Gawlik online just over a year ago when I moved to Bloomington. He got good reviews so I went. I'M SO HAPPY I checked these google reviews. I live in Saint Paul now and just made the commute for my cleaning this morning. The entire staff is nice, and they're so flexible. Dr. Gawlik is friendly, and my dental hygienist (Brandy, I think) is nice. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but I really don't mind it now. I'm getting married in January, and since I never used my "new customer free teeth whitening" thing, they're giving me free whitening stuff now. They're also flexible on fillings. I didn't get all of mine filled last year because money was tight, and they didn't pressure me. Now, money is still tight but I'm getting those last cavities filled. As far as the negative reviews go, all I can say is that I've had a positive experience, as many customers have. I've never heard or seen any sort of disrespect or anything other than professional, kind, "Minnesotan," service.

Not from the area haven't been to a dentist in three years. They didn't make me feel bad about it at all. Friendly staff. They went out of their way to accommodate my needs, even though I am confused about whether or not I have dental insurance. They even estimated an upfront cost for today's services and recommended that if I find my dental insurance information to provide it to them to be reimbursed for today's services. First time customers get an electric toothbrush too :) I would recommend them to anyone in fact I will recommend my girlfriend tonight. Sounds strange I know, but come in and you'll find out why I'm so happy.

I've been going to Lifesmiles for nearly two years now. Its been a revolution in my dental care. I used to get dental care through one of the larger chains where the dentist treated me like a bunch of bones rather than a human being. At Lifesmiles, I am recognized by name immediately by the receptionist and all of the staff. There is a genuine personal interest and concern and a real attention to detail and quality. I wouldn't describe my visits as fun exactly, but I would say that I am never fearful that it will hurt or concerned about quality. Dr. Gawlik follows up with a personal phone call after a procedure to ensure that things are going well. Dr Gawlik and his staff feel like partners with me in improving my dental health. For the first time I feel a though I can smile and laugh and show my teeth. That's not just a change in dental care, that's a life change!

One thing that stands out for me is the relatively mild to discomfort at times when getting work done. And I mean that in the most positive way. Over the years I have had many incredibly painful experiences for various reasons. Not here though. Maybe I am just out of things to fix, but they really do a nice job.

I was referred to Lifesmiles Family Dentistry by my co-worker, who just raved about how good they were. From the time I made the appointment until I was seen, it was so fast and easy. I called on a Tuesday and was seen on a Wednesday morning. I live in Minneapolis which is a much longer way to drive to see a dentist. When I first arrived, I filled out the paperwork and the ladies at the front desk were so nice and helpful. Especially, with me being a new patient and with an emergency tooth problem. I was seen, and was referred to an oral surgeon which all happened within a week of each other. I just want to let people know how nice everyone in the office is, they do an excellent job when dealing with people like me who have a lot of dental issues. The first thing I said to my family and friends, was how nice everyone is, how they make you feel comfortable and I kept repeating this to everyone "They are so nice" I told my co-worker who referred me and she said yes I know. After having the work done on Tuesday, by the oral surgeon, I came back to the Lifesmiles Office in Bloomington the next day for any adjustments that needed to be made. I am very pleased with the work that was done. I can smile a lot more now and I am doing that as I write. I am telling any and everyone that I know to go to the Lifesmiles Family Dentistry Office in Bloomington, MN. I thank you for the job you have done and I will be a patient for LIFE!
